Chapter 25: Explorers of the Keyblade Part 2
On a cliff that looks like some kind of shark, the same echidna Pokemon was laying on the ground, looking depressed. Suddenly, a pink round bunny-like Pokemon with a white stomach and a parrot Pokemon with a black head shaped like a musical note, green stomach, and blue wings came to him and saw him looking depressed.
Parrot: Why the long face, Cyndaquil? You haven't done any Rescue Missions for a while.
Cyndaquil: Y-yeah...
Bunny: What were you thinking about?
Parrot: Let me guess. You're thinking about something terrible happening in the future, right?
Cyndaquil nods.
Bunny: Well, you know what that one Disney movie say...
Parrot & Bunny: Hakuna Matata!
Cyndaquil smiles a little. He walks away.
Parrot: Would you look at how he's grown, Guildmaster. When we first met the little guy, he was starting out on a new adventure.
Cyndaquil walks up to the cliff, looks up in the sky, and lays down. Meanwhile, back in the Hidden Land, Grovyle and Celebi are resting in a cave. Grovyle suddenly sensed something and gasped.
Celebi: What's wrong, my dear Grovyle?
Grovyle: I can sense it. Cyndaquil is alive. We must warn the others.
Celebi: Then let's hurry!(Blushing)Hold onto my hand!
Grovyle held onto Celebi's hand and she teleports herself and Grovyle. Back on the sea with Lapras, Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy are listening to Chikorita and Totodile's story.
Chikorita: In the future, time was frozen, gravity was nonexistent, and the skies were covered in darkness.
Sora: Who told you that?
Totodile: Dusknoir told us that. Then after we captured Grovyle, he took us into the future to be executed. Luckily, Grovyle and Celebi saved us and sent us back to the past.
Lapras: Guys, we're arriving at the Grass Continent.
Everyone looks out to see a continent. Lapras disembarks and drops the gang off to the beach. There, they encountered Grovyle and Celebi.
Chikorita: Grovyle, Celebi, how did you get here?
Grovyle: Celebi teleports us here. We came to tell you something.
Celebi: Cyndaquil is still alive. He must be back in Treasure Town.
Chikorita: Then we must hurry!
She ran off.
Sora: Wait up, Chikorita!
Sora and the gang follows her. As they were running through the road, they encountered more Heartless, including a new type called the Shamans. They are white monkey-like Heartless wearing shaman masks. After finishing off the Heartless, they went to a crossroad. The northern road leads to a hill with a building shaped like the pink bunny Pokemon. The western road leads to a town. The eastern road leads to an open field.
Sora: So, which way do we go?
Chikorita: Me and Totodile will go up to the Wigglytuff Guild. You, Plucky, and Dizzy will go up to Sharpedo Bluff at the end of Treasure Town.
Plucky: Chikorita, do you have a crush on Cyndaquil or something?
Chikorita blushed from that comment.
Chikorita:(Blushing)Just hurry up and find him!
Chikorita and Totodile went up the hill. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy went through Treasure Town. The town has a bunch of shops and a dojo.
Sora: Wow! This place is like an outdoor shopping mall.
Plucky: We don't have time to go shopping. We have to find Cyndaquil.
The trio walks to the end of town and went to the cliff, where they found Cyndaquil fighting a bunch of Heartless. Cyndaquil has fire on his back activated. He uses Flamethrower to burn all of the Heartless. The trio were impressed at what he did.
Sora: Cyndaquil!
The trio ran up to him. Cyndaquil still has fire on his back activated.
Sora: Don't you remember us? It's me, Sora! Plucky and Dizzy are here, too.
Cyndaquil walks up to them. He looks at them, then a flash of Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy in their normal forms appeared right before him. He recognizes the trio.
Cyndaquil: Sora! Plucky! Dizzy!
He ran up to Sora, jumps onto him, making him fall on his back, and rubs his stomach. He then noticed that the trio looks different.
Cyndaquil: What happened to you?
Before Sora could answer, everyone could hear a scream.
? 1: CYNDAQUIL, HELP!
? 2: BLACK CREATURES ARE ATTACKING!
Cyndaquil: That's Chatot and Wigglytuff! They must be in trouble! I better rescue them!
He ran back to town.
Sora: OK, we'll help, too!
Before Sora could help out, he opens a chest that contains a torn page of Mumbo's book. He ran all the way back to the crossroad, where Cyndaquil is fighting the Heartless to protect Chikorita, Totodile, the parrot Chatot, and the bunny Wigglytuff. After taking out the Heartless, Chikorita ran up to Cyndaquil, jumps on him, and hugs him.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil! I missed you!
Totodile made a jealous look, while Chatot and Wigglytuff looks confused.
Chatot: What's going on here?
Sora: They must be in love.
Chatot and Wigglytuff turns to see Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy. Looking at the trio like they're strange Pokemon, they screamed and ran off. Chatot hides behind Cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil: Relax, Chatot. They're all friends of mine.
Chatot: So, they're not minions of Darkrai, right?
Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy nods. Wigglytuff was curled in a ball, shaking.
Wigglytuff: Are you sure they won't hurt us?
Sora: We won't...But you're a Pokemon, right?
Wigglytuff stood up with a smile.
Wigglytuff: Call me Wigglytuff. I'm a Guildmaster.
Everybody laughs, then Cyndaquil stops laughing and walks up to Chatot.
Cyndaquil: Could you guys excuse us for a few minutes.
Chatot: I don't see why not?
Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile walks back to Treasure Town. They are talking to each other, as they reached Sharpedo Bluff.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil, you've gotta help us at the Hidden Land.
Totodile: We thought that Sora might be able to help, but you're the only one who can save us from Darkrai.
Cyndaquil stops for a moment.
Cyndaquil: I can't fight him.
Chikorita and Totodile stops, too.
Chikorita: Why not?
Cyndaquil: Sometimes, bad things will happen in the future. And there's nothing you can do to change it.
He walks towards the cliff to look out at the sea.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil...
Meanwhile, back with Sora's gang, Chatot is leading a march.
Chatot: Hakuna...
Everyone: Matata!
Chatot: Hakuna...
Everyone: Matata!
Everyone stops to see Chikorita and Totodile walking pass them.
Chikorita: He's not the Cyndaquil I remember. Something about him not overcoming his fears.
Later that night, Cyndaquil was still looking out at the sea on Sharpedo Bluff.
Cyndaquil: The world will end...And it's because of me...It's all my fault. I can't stop Darkrai...It won't change anything.
He had a flashback, when he was with a yellow cat-like Pokemon with a long moustache, wearing brown armor, and carrying two spoons. The Pokemon is Alakazam, the leader of Team ACT. They were looking at the starry night sky together.
Alakazam: Look at the stars, Cyndaquil. The great Rescue Teams of the past look down on us from those stars. Whenever you feel alone, just remember that those Rescue Teams will always be there to guide you. And so will I.
Back in the present, Cyndaquil is still looking at the sky.
Cyndaquil: Alakazam...I wish you were here now.
Suddenly, a bunch of clouds started forming in circles. A bright light shines from the clouds and Alakazam appears from the light.
Alakazam: Cyndaquil...You have forgotten who you are. You must save the world from Darkrai.
Cyndaquil: How can I save the world? I'm not what I'm used to be.
Alakazam: Remember who you are.
Alakazam disappears, as well as the clouds. Cyndaquil now realizes what he must do.
Cyndaquil: You can all come out now.
He turns to Sora, Plucky, Dizzy, Chatot, and Wigglytuff.
Cyndaquil: I'm going to the Hidden Land. I could use your help.
Chatot: He really is a hero.
The sun rises from the sea. Cyndaquil joins with Sora and the gang. Chatot and Wigglytuff joins along as well. The gang returns to the beach, where Chikorita and Totodile were about to board on Lapras. Chikorita then saw Cyndaquil walking towards them and smiles.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil!
Cyndaquil: I'm coming, too. I will fight Darkrai.
Chatot: Wait a minute! We're gonna fight a Legendary Pokemon for this?
Cyndaquil: Yes, Chatot. This is my world, too. I will fight to save it.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil!
She ran up to Cyndaquil and hugs him. She then gave him a kiss on the cheek. Totodile once again gave a jealous look. The whole gang boards Lapras and he takes off to the sea. After an hour of sailing, he starts floating in the air and flew back to the Hidden Land. The gang all departs from Lapras and ran all the way through the forest, fighting even more Heartless. Eventually, they made it all the way to the pyramid. They climbed up the pyramid and noticed a drawn pattern on the floor.
Sora: What is that?
Chikorita: This is the Rainbow Stoneship. It will take us to the Temporal Tower.
Sora: Temporal Tower?
Totodile: It's right up there.
Everyone looks at where Totodile is pointing. In the sky is a gray tower that looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa on a floating island.
Chikorita: We must defeat Darkrai and put the Time Gears back on the Temporal Tower, or the world will be destroyed.
Sora: Time Gears?
Chikorita pulls out a bag and shows everyone the five blue gears.
Chikorita: Those are the Time Gears. They will help us save the world if we put them back on top of Temporal Tower.
Sora: That's pretty cool. How do we got up there?
Totodile: Like this.
He taps the stone switch with his foot. The patterns started glowing and a platform appears from the top of the pyramid. It starts flying towards the floating tower. After a few minutes, The Rainbow Stoneship finally arrives on the path to the tower. The gang starts walking down the pathway, until they reached the entrance to the tower, where Darkrai awaits them. He was surprised to see Cyndaquil with the gang.
Darkrai: So, you finally came, Cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil: This land doesn't belong to you.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil's right. This is a sacred land.
Cyndaquil: The choice is yours, Darkrai. Either leave this place or fight.
Darkrai: Come now. Must this all end in violence? I'd hate to be responsible for the destruction of the world, Cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil: I'm fighting to save the future.
Darkrai: But what about your friends? Do they really trust you?
Chikorita: Cyndaquil, what's he talking about?
Darkrai: Go on. Tell them who's gonna destroy the world.
Cyndaquil then looks down in shame again.
Cyndaquil: I am.
Chikorita gasped in horror.
Darkrai: He admits it! He's the destroyer of the world! If you didn't come to the past, this world would never be destroyed. Do you deny it?
Cyndaquil: No! But I didn't mean it!
Darkrai: You're in trouble again. Just like how your presence in the Air Continent caused natural disasters, your presence in the Grass Continent will disrupt space and time. And now everyone knows why.
He grabs Cyndaquil and floats towards the edge of the cliff.
Darkrai: Now this looks familiar. I think I've seen this before. Oh, yes! I remember. You've seen this before in your nightmares. And here's my little secret...I'm the destroyer of the future.
Upon hearing that, Cyndaquil got enraged, activates the flame on his back, uses Flame Wheel, turning himself into a fireball, and hits Darkrai, knocking him to the ground with Cyndaquil on top of him.
Cyndaquil: Tell everyone what will you do again!
Darkrai: Alright! I did it.
Cyndaquil: LOUDER!
Darkrai: I'M THE DESTROYER OF THE FUTURE!
Everyone gasped at what they heard.
Sora: So, you lied about Cyndaquil destroying the world!
Darkrai: Yes. And he was never a threat to the Air Continent, either!
Suddenly, Dusknoir, Team Meanies, and Team Skull came out of the tower and attacks Cyndaquil, releasing Darkrai.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil!
Darkrai flew back to the tower. His minions are surrounding Cyndaquil, but Sora ran up to him.
Sora: Cyndaquil! You'll take care of Darkrai! We'll handle these guys!
Cyndaquil: Right, Sora!
He ran to the tower. Suddenly, a bunch of Sableye came and join in, but then Chatot, Wigglytuff, Grovyle, and Celebi came and attack the Sableye.
Chatot: Excuse me! Pardon me! Coming through!
Their attacks sent the Sableye flying into the air. Suddenly, Chatot and Wigglytuff got surrounded by the Sableye. They ran to the tower with Dusknoir, Team Meanies, Team Skull, and the Sableye chasing them. Sora and the rest of the gang follows them. They ran all around the tower, reaching higher floors, until they stopped at the Temporal Spire.
Grovyle: Me and Celebi will take care of the Sableye.
Sora: Then me, Plucky, Dizzy, Chikorita, and Totodile will take care of Dusknoir and the others.
Grovyle and Celebi went after the Sableye, while Sora and the rest of the gang will take care of Dusknoir, Team Meanies, and Team Skull. Sora uses two Summon Charms to summon Sonic and Megaman in the battle. Gengar uses Shadow Ball, throwing a black energy ball at the gang, but they dodged it. Ekans uses Poison Sting, firing a bunch of purple needles at the gang, but they dodged them, too. Skuntank uses Smokescreen, covering the entire room in smoke. Koffing uses Sludge, spitting black slime on Plucky and Dizzy's eyes. Medicham uses Confusion, telekinetically lifting Chikorita and Totodile, and threw them at Sora. Zubat uses Supersonic, sending a soundwave at Sonic and Megaman, making them confused. Sonic uses the Spin Attack to roll into a ball and spin across the floor, but hits Plucky. Megaman uses the Hard Knuckle to fire his forearm like a rocket, but hits Dizzy. Dusknoir uses Shadow Ball and hits Sora. Sora and the gang are barely standing up.
Sora: Man, these guys are much stronger than Team Rocket's Pokemon.
Dusknoir: You better surrender now if you value your lives.
Sora: I will never give up. I will continue to fight, even if I'm going down.
He uses Magnet to create a giant magnetic sphere, send Dusknoir, Team Meanies, and Team Skull to fly into it.
Gengar: Hey! No fair! That's playing dirty!
Skuntank: Yeah! And we usually play dirty!
Plucky uses Cure to heal everyone. Sonic and Megaman returns to normal. Everyone attacks Darkrai's minions, while Sora is still using Magnet. Plucky uses Thunder to zap all of Darkrai's minions, Dizzy uses his Spin Attack, doing alot of damage to them, Chikorita uses Magical Leaf to summon multicolored leaves, Totodile uses Aqua Tail to cover his tail in water, Sonic uses Sonic Wind to create a blue tornado, and Megaman uses Crash Bomber to fire a sticky bomb at Gengar, then the bomb explodes, blowing up all of Darkrai's minions. Dusknoir, Team Meanies, and Team Skull ran away in fear of Sora and the gang. Chatot and Wigglytuff ran to the heroes in joy.
Wigglytuff: Thanks for rescuing us, friends.
Totodile: No problem.
Grovyle and Celebi ran up to the gang.
Celebi: We took care of the Sableye, too. They went running away from us.
Sora: Good! Now, where's Cyndaquil?
Chikorita: He went upstairs. Let's hurry!
She points to the stairs that leads to the top of Temporal Tower. The gang went upstairs and reached the Temporal Pinnacle, where Cyndaquil is battling Darkrai.
Plucky: Cyndaquil!
Sora: Let him take care of it, Plucky. This is his fight.
Cyndaquil uses Flame Wheel, hitting Darkrai in a fireball. Darkrai uses Dark Pulse, creating a dark energy wave, and hits Cyndaquil with it. Darkrai charges at Cyndaquil, ready to deliver a final blow, but Cyndaquil uses Double Kick to kick Darkrai with both of his hind legs. The attack sends Darkrai flying across the battlefield. Everybody ran up to Cyndaquil.
Sora: You did it, Cyndaquil!
Cyndaquil: Thanks, Sora. I couldn't have done it without your help.
?: That was only a sneak preview!
Everyone turns to see Monty and Team Rocket.
Meowth: Dat ain't over! Not by a long shot!
He points to Darkrai, who is standing up with a dark aura surrounding his body and a Heartless symbol on his chest. He roars in anger and fires a dark beam in the sky. Dark clouds started surrounding the Hidden Land.
Monty: His hatred and anger has turned him into a Heartless!
Jessie: And that's not all! He's gonna summon the Legendary Pokemon, Dialga!
James: And when he does, the Grass Continent will rise again! But this time, as the Continent of Darkness!
Chikorita: Oh no! This is terrible! He's gonna make our world like the future!
Cyndaquil: That's not gonna happen! We'll put a stop to his evil plans!
Suddenly, a giant dark beam came down from the sky and out came a giant Pokemon that looks like Dialga in the mural, except that his skin is black and their are red lines all over his body. He is Primal Dialga, the evil corrupt version of Dialga. Plucky starts shaking in fear again.
Plucky:(Whimpers)Great. Another giant Legendary Pokemon. Nice knowing you, guys.
He tried to fly away, but Sora grabs him by his tail.
Sora: We'll stop him together!
Plucky: I wasn't hoping you would say that.
Cyndaquil: Me, Chikorita, and Totodile will take care of Dialga. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy will take care of Darkrai.
Sora: Right! Let's go, guys!
Plucky: At least I'm not fighting that Godzilla-sized Kaiju.
Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy are fighting Darkrai. Sora slashed his Keyblade at Darkrai multiple times, Plucky uses Fire and Blizzard on Darkrai, and Dizzy uses Headbutt on Darkrai. All of the attacks hit Darkrai, but he counterattacks. He sends Thunder down from the sky, hitting the trio. He threw multiple Shadow Balls, doing alot of damage to the trio. He then fires a Dark Pulse alot more powerful than before. His Dark Pulse hits the trio, creating a massive explosion. The trio were barely standing up.
Meanwhile, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile are battling Primal Dialga. Cyndaquil uses Double Kick on Dialga, but the attack barely did any damage. Chikorita uses Ancient Power, creating a white energy sphere at Dialga, but it did no damage. Totodile uses Ice Beam, firing a beam of ice at Dialga, but it still did no damage. Dialga counterattacks with Earth Power, making the ground shake, until magma came out of the ground, hitting the trio. He then use Roar of Time to fire a giant blue energy beam from his mouth, hitting the trio, and creating a massive explosion. The trio were also barely standing up.
Plucky: This is no good. Those Pokemon are too powerful.
Sora: And what's worse, I can't use my Drive Forms in this body.
Cyndaquil: There may be one way to defeat them. We have to use our Limits.
Sora: You guys can do Limits, too?
Cyndaquil: Yes. It may be enough to take down those two Pokemon. We all gotta do it together!
Sora: Right! That means Plucky and Dizzy will have to do Limits with Chikorita and Totodile.
Cyndaquil: Then that leaves you and me, Sora. Let's do it!
Plucky and Chikorita uses the Limit called Flowers of Love. First, Plucky and Chikorita uses a combination of Fire and Magical Leaf on Darkrai. Next, they use Blizzard and Ancient Power on him. Finally, Plucky uses Thunder to zap Darkrai, while Chikorita charges up her Solarbeam. She the fires a giant beam of sunlight on Darkrai, doing massive damage. Next, Dizzy and Totodile uses Water of Friendship. First, Totodile uses Ice Beam to cover Dizzy's hands feet in ice, so he can deliver ice punches and kicks on Darkrai. Next, they use a Headbutt and Aqua Tail combo on him. Finally, Totodile uses Hydro Pump to create a powerful stream of water, while Dizzy uses his Spin Attack on the Hydro Pump, making him absorb the water stream. He then spins towards Darkrai with his Hydro Spin Attack, doing alot of damage. Finally, It's Sora and Cyndaquil's turn. They use Flames of Courage. First, the two Cyndaquil did a double Flame Wheel, creating a giant fireball, and hits Primal Dialga. Next, they use Eruption, firing lava from their back flames on Dialga. Finally, they use Overheat, firing two really powerful Flamethrowers at Dialga. All of the attacks did alot of damage to Dialga. Both Dialga and Darkrai are barely standing.
Plucky: I think our attacks are working.
Suddenly, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile's Rescue Badges are glowing, as well as Sora's Keyblade.
Cyndaquil: It's not over yet. We still have one more attack.
The Pokemon trio and Sora puts their Badges and Keyblade together, creating a bright glow, which creates a powerful explosion of light. The explosion covers the entire battlefield, engulfing both Darkrai and Primal Dialga with it. When the explosion dies down, Darkrai is nowhere to be seen and Dialga fell on the ground.
Sora: Well, that takes care of that.
Suddenly, they here a rumble.
Sora: What was that?
Cyndaquil: That rumble means the Temporal Tower is gonna collapse! We gotta hurry and put the Time Gears on the pedestal, before it's too late!
The gang quickly ran to the pedestal at the end of the tower. The pedestal has five slots that are shaped like gears. Chikorita quickly pulls out the five Time Gears and quickly puts them in the slots. The pedestal starts glowing and creates a flash of light. Everyone covers their eyes. When the light dies down, the tower stops shaking and the sky returns to normal.
Chikorita: It's over! It's finally over! We did it!
Plucky then turns around to see something and gasped.
Plucky: GUYS! It's not over yet!
Sora: What is it, Plucky?
Everyone turns around gasped, too. It was Dialga, but he was in his normal colors.
Dialga: Don't be afraid, children. I am no longer controlled by Darkrai. I am now free.
Everyone sighs in relief.
Dialga: Because you have brought the Time Gears to the Temporal Tower, the world is now at peace.
Sora: And what about Darkrai?
Dialga: He is long gone now. He will no longer threaten this world anymore.
Everyone cheers at the news. Then Chikorita walks up to Cyndaquil.
Chikorita: Cyndaquil, there is something I wanna say to you. I love you.
Cyndaquil: Oh, Chikorita. I love you, too.
Both Cyndaquil and Chikorita leans in close. Finally, their lips met in a kiss. Totodile starts crying with jealousy. Sora walks up to him to comfort him.
Sora: Relax, Totodile. I'm sure you'll find a girlfriend.
Before Totodile could respond, one of the Time Gears started glowing. Sora knows what to do. He summons his Keyblade, the Time Gear reveals the Keyhole, and the Keyblade unlocks it. Chatot and Wigglytuff went up and saw what happened.
Chatot: Hey, what's with the light show?
Sora: We have to say good-bye for a little while.
Wigglytuff: Then I'll go tell Cyndaquil.
Dizzy: Tell Cyndaquil we be back soon.
Chatot: He's probably ruler of this land now. He'll be so busy, he'll probably forget about his friends at the Wigglytuff Guild.
Sora walks up to Chatot.
Sora: Well, you always got hakuna matata, right?
Wigglytuff: Guess so...
Chatot: What do you mean "guess so?" What if he forgets about the Wigglytuff Guild? You'll be crying like crazy.
Wigglytuff breaks into tears.
Wigglytuff: You mean...Cyndaquil will...forget about us?
She starts crying, making a huge rumble.
Chatot: CALM DOWN, GUILDMASTER! I WAS ONLY KIDDING!
Wigglytuff stops crying.
Wigglytuff: Right! I knew that!
Sora: You can never forget your true buddies.
Before Sora and the gang could leave, Cyndaquil and Chikorita walks up to the trio.
Cyndaquil: Before you leave, I wanna give you this.
He gave Sora a Keychain and a crystal. The Keychain is called Platinum Rescue. Sora puts it on and the Keyblade now has a Rescue Badge for the tooth. The crystal upgrades his magical abilities. Sora and his friends said good-bye to Cyndaquil and his friends and returns to the Gummi Ship.
Sweetie: Sora, thank goodness you're OK! We were worried about you!
Sora: We're fine, guys. What makes you think we were in danger?
Sneezer: We saw dark clouds surround the entire world. We thought something bad happened to you guys.
Plucky: What are the chances of anything bad happening to us?
Sora: Well, where do we go now?
Sweetie: Well, they're opening a new tournament in the Distortion World back at the other Pokemon World.
Sora: That's great! We could always train for another tournament. Let's go, guys!
Sneezer: Aye aye, captain! Returning to the Distortion World!
The Gummi Ship left the Grass Continent, took off into space, and starts warping to the Distortion World.
That's it for chapter 25. That was a fun battle, wasn't it? Next time, Sora and the gang will leave from one Pokemon world to another Pokemon world we all know and love.
