It was Andy's first full day at the hospital and she woke up next to her favorite person. She could tell he had been awake for a while because he was tracing little patterns along her stomach.
"How long have you been up?" She asked grabbing his hand.
"Not long. Maybe 20-30 minutes." He said "How did you sleep last night?"
"Well considering that I had a very large man in a very tiny bed with me, I slept pretty well." She said turning and kissing him.
"You're the one who suggested that I sleep with you instead of on the couch." He said.
"Yeah yeah. Just be quiet so we can cuddle a little longer before they do rounds." She said scooting as close as possible to him.
"Ok miss bossy." He said wrapping his arms around her.
She playfully slapped him.
"What. I love you and your bossy ness. You're hot when your bossy." He said.
"Yeah. Whatever captain." She said closing her eyes.
An hour later they were both woken up when they heard voices in the room.
"Schmitt would you like to present" Grey said.
"Andrea Herrera-Sullivan. Brought in from a fall which resulted in a bruised spine. 16 weeks pregnant. Is currently being held for 3 days to be observed." He said.
"Ok if you need anything just hit the nurse button and they will help you or you can have them page me." She said.
"Ok thanks Mer." She said.
"I will be back later to check on you." She said walking out the door.
~Around lunch time~
Andy was asleep and Robert was just walking out of the bathroom when there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." Robert went over to sit next to Andy. "Hey guys." He said as he saw Ripley and Pruitt walk through the door.
"Hey Robert." They both said.
"I stopped at Chick-fil-A and got you guys some lunch." Pruitt said sitting the food down on the table. "I was walking towards the elevator when I found Ripley so we just came up together."
"Did they tell you why they were keeping her here for 3 days?" Lucas asked.
"Oh umm the doctor said that she wanted to keep Andy here overnight to make sure the pain doesn't get to bad. So she will be here 2 more days and then we will head home." He said hoping they couldn't tell he was lying.
"Ok." They said.
Andy started to move around in the bed.
"No no." She cried.
Robert woke Andy up and said, "What's wrong baby."
"I-I um." She said still a little scared from her dream.
"We'll step out for a minute do you guys can talk." Ripley said.
"Ok thank you." Robert said.
"What happened Dee?" He asked gently getting into bed.
"I-I had a dream that when you and Jack were fighting you didn't stop. You got so beat up that-that." At this point the tears were forming again. "That you died."
"Oh Andy. I'm never going to leave you." He said pulling her into a hug. "Your dad and Lucas are here. They brought us lunch."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yep." He said.
"What did you say when they asked why I had to stay over night?" She asked.
"I told them that the doctor wanted to monitor you to make sure the pain doesn't get to bad." He said.
"Can you get the pictures out of my purse and call them back in here." She asked.
"I'll do anything for you love." He said kissing her before he got out of the bed.
He got the pictures out of the bag and handed them to Andy. He then went over to the door and saw the two standing a little ways down the hall. He walked towards them and told them to come back in the room.
"Hey guys." Andy said.
"Hey." They said.
"How do you feel?" Pruitt asked.
"My back hurts a little but it's fine." She said.
"So I hear they are keeping you over night." Luke said.
"Yes but it's not because of the reason Robert told you." She said.
The two men gave her and Robert a confused look as Andy handed the picture to her dad, while Robert handed the other one to Lucas.
"Andrea is this you." Pruitt asked looking up at Andy, who had a huge smile across her face.
"Yep it is!"she said.
"Congrats guys." Luke said.
Andy looked over to her father who had tears of joy in his eyes. "Dad don't cry. You'll make me cry." She said wiping the tear away from her face.
"You guys are going to make amazing parents." He said going over to give Andy a hug. "Wait so why are you staying. Is everything ok?"
"Yes everything is fine they just wanted to monitor the baby." She said.
"Ok" he said.
Andy looked over and saw the bag of food sitting in the chair, "oooo give me." She said.
Everyone laughed at her.
"Andrea where are your manners." Her father said as he grabbed the food.
"Can I please have the food." She said.
"Yes you may." He said.
"Well I think I'm going to head out and give you guys some time." Luke said.
"I think I'm going to go to." Pruitt said.
"Ok." They said.
"See you guys later." Luke said.
"Thanks dad for the food." She said.
"Your welcome and congratulations." He said walking out the door.
"Come sit and eat." Andy said patting the bed. "Ok." Robert said going to sit next to her. "When do you think we should start talking about baby names?"
"Maybe after the gender reveal because then we will know if we are looking for a boy or girl name." she said.
"I think that sounds like a good plan so now lets eat." he said opening the bag of food.
(A/n- nothing really happened on the second day so I'm just going to skip it)
~Third day~
It was just after rounds and Robert was arriving back to the hospital because he went home last night. He took a shower, got Andy some clothes to go home in, and slept there.
When he walked in the room Andy immediately had a smile on her face. "I missed you last night." She said.
"I know. I never noticed how big our bed is until you weren't in it." he said walking over to Andy and giving her a hug and a kiss. "You know who else misses you?"
"Who?" she asked.
"Bentley. He has been sleeping on your side of the bed." he said with a little chuckle towards the end.
"Awww I miss my baby." she said.
"Do you know when you will get out of here yet?" he asked.
"The nurse said that when you got here that I could get ready to go and I should be discharged in an hour or so." she said.
"Ok. Here are your clothes." he said handing her the bag.
"Ok. I will be out in a minute." she said.
When she walked out of the bathroom she had another smile on her face again as she said, "How did you know this is my favorite sweater of yours?"
"Because every time I would come home from night shift I would see you cuddled up on my side of the bed with that sweater on." he said welcoming her into another hug.
"Look, my bump has gotten bigger." she said lifting up the shirt high enough so you could see the outline of her bump through the leggings.
Robert put his hand on Andy's stomach. He got confused when she moved his hand but then that confusion got replaced with the happiest feeling.
"Is that-" he said in total awe.
"Yep. It is." she said placing her hand on top of his.
He looked up at her and smiled before crashing his lips into her. The kiss was full of love but also passionate at the same time. They quickly pulled away when here was a knock at the door. The door opened to reveal Dr.Grey.
"Can I go home now?" she asked impatiently. "Yes. Now you can go home."Grey said.
"Yes! Thank you so much Mer." she said as she gave Meredith a hug.
"Make sure she rests and remember if the pain gets to bad you can take one of the pills. It won't harm the baby." she said handing Andy the medicine and walking out of the room. "
I finally get to sleep in my own bed." she said grabbing the bag of the bed.
"Lets get you home and I will make you some lunch." he said holding her hand as they walked down to the car.
"Can we actually take a nap and then eat lunch?" she asked.
"Anything you want. We could order lunch when we wake up and then I could cook you dinner. How does that sound?" he said.
"That sounds perfect." she said as they pulled out of the parking lot.
