Without taking his eyes off her, Damon took advantage of the slowness of her steps to breathe easier.

What the hell is wrong with her? Why is she walking away from him? with every thought he gasped heavily.

Damn, she really made him run...

"Didn't you hear me? I said your mother sent me to find you"

He yelled at her again, but Bonnie didn't respond and kept walking away.

Annoyed, Damon closed the distance between the two by standing in front of her, "Why do you keep walking away?"

Seeing her condition, Damon widened his eyes in anguish.

Oh Fuck... This was maybe the last thing that could happen to him... She's hurt...

Angry, Damon wiped a hand over his face. Damn it, this was his fault.

"I didn't mean to make you fall, I'm sorry... Does that hurt?"

Bonnie walked around him and continued walking slowly without raising her face.

Does it hurt? Yes... but not the blow, or the pangs that she felt when walking, No...

It hurt her to believe that she was finally free... and here she was about to lose her only chance...

Damon looked at her again. In all this time Bonnie had not said a single word, all she did was walk away.

Why was she being so hostile? and Damon realized. She didn't trust him... How to blame her, he was a complete stranger to her...

"Your mother sent me to look for you and I need to take you with her, but first we have to go to some hospital" Damon tried to grab her arm but Bonnie stopped him.

"Don't you dare touch me..." Those were the first words Bonnie shared with him, and they sounded very challenging.

Damon cleared his throat. Her mother was right, it would not be easy to take her with him...

But his duty was to find her and carry her home... and that's what he would do. If it was necessary to persuade her to succeed, then he would.

"Listen to me, I don't know where you are going, but you can't keep walking like that. Let me take you to some place where someone can check your wound... Please?"

Please...?

it was the first time someone asked something of her with such kindness...

Please...

Bonnie agreed to go with him.

After driving around looking for a hospital, all Damon found was a small medical facility outside of town.

Throughout the intervention, Damon crossed his arms, putting a hand to his mouth. He was impressed to see how this girl felt no pain as they saturated her wound without using any type of anesthetic.

It was disturbing.

She never showed any emotion, pain, fear, anguish... nothing, Bonnie was completely silent, as if none of this was happening.

And that was too awkward for Damon. Having to deal with someone as expressionless as she was not what he was used to. No, if he compared her to Elena.

When they left the medical center, Bonnie stopped walking, she knew that now she couldn't escape... she needed to think of another solution.

Damon turned around when he felt that she had stopped. Not wanting to disturb her, this time he asked, "Do you need me to help you?"

And Bonnie looked him in the eyes.

"Let me go, tell my mother you didn't find me... Please?"

Bonnie pleaded gently.

For the first time in so many years, she was seen as she really was, A helpless girl who wanted just a little love.

and Damon could see that in her gaze.

But he was confused. Why was she so reluctant to come with him? Did she not want to go with her mother? Why was she so scared?

Damon could see the pleading in her eyes, and not only that...

Now having a better view of her entire face, Damon noticed something else... she had been hit... and that infuriated him.

He was sure that the blow to her face was not caused by the fall... Someone dared to hurt her before he came looking for her.

Damon approached her silently with a serious look in his eyes,

And Bonnie didn't prepare for what he did next.

Without thinking about the consequences of his actions. Damon brought his hands to her chin and lifted her face to better observe the blow to the corner of her lips,

"Did someone dare to hit you?" His voice expressed anger and concern.

Now Bonnie was confused. Why the hell would that interest him?

Avoiding the question, Bonnie pulled her face away, "Will you let me go...?"

For some reason, Damon identified with her, but he couldn't let her go.

And Bonnie knew it. She clenched her fists, and the gentleness in her gaze disappeared.

Bonnie didn't wait for his answer and ran off, but she didn't get very far, the wound on her knee made her fall again...

With all her might, Bonnie cursed and hit the pavement, feeling completely angry and helpless.

I can't go back to her... I don't want to go back to her. Wrapped in her thoughts, Bonnie didn't notice when Damon approached her.

Without asking permission, Damon carried her in his arms bridal style and Bonnie gasped in bewilderment.

What is he doing? they both thought at the same time.

Damon waited for some bad reaction from her, but Bonnie just looked at him with wide eyes. she never expected him to do that.

Damon spoke in a low voice not daring to look at her as he walked with her in his arms towards the car.

"Stop walking away from me. I don't want you to hurt yourself again. I don't know why you don't want to come with me, but I assure you, I would never hurt you. I just want to carry you to your new home. That's why I'm here, But you're making it very difficult for me, Bonnie"

Damon was already tired of this situation, the only thing he wanted was for her to stop putting up so much resistance.

She wasn't realizing that she was only hurting herself when she kept walking away from him. And that made him feel guilty.

With a sigh, Damon opened the car door carefully and looked into her eyes. She was so light.

"My name is Damon. If you promise not to walk away from me... I will keep my word to take care of you until I take you home. OK?"

Maybe that was the first thing he should have done when he first saw her... but it was not too late to show her that he was being sincere and was not trying to persuade her to agree to come with him.

Bonnie's silence let Damon know that she believed his words.

and there it was...

Bonnie gave him that gentle look for the second time.

And that was enough for Damon to put her in the passenger seat, and carry her to her new home.
