Strings Reunited
On the stage Carol was checking the lights, wiring them up as she signaled another troll who messed with the board, activating the switches as an array of red flood lights lit the stage. Carol plugged in her bass, plucking a few notes as they vibrated through the sound system. The Troll in the booth gave her a thumbs-up as Carol set her Bass down, the stage was fully set up. Riff walked up, checking the screws on his drum set.
"Lookin' good Carol," Riff commented, twisting one of the screws to get his set in tune for what they were planning to be the biggest Rock Show that Volcano Rock had ever seen, all six tribes would be in attendance. Riff said that he and the guys could handle the rest of the setup.
"Why don't you check on Barb? Last time I checked on her before a show she was getting changed" Riff informed as Carol chuckled, saying she remembered that and the slew of insults Barb threw at him.
"Okay, I'll check on the Queen, you can finish up here," Carol said, setting her bass down on a stand as she left the Volcano stage, heading to Rock Castle. Two of the Trolls standing outside opened the doors as Carol entered, saying that Queen Barb and Eddy were upstairs in her room.
"Really, her room, Barb rarely lets anyone into her room" Carol questioned as one of the other Trolls walked up to her, low on breath, saying he was glad he caught up to her, saying the Funk Trolls arrived ahead of schedule, they landed their ship outside the City limits.
"And the string?" Carol asked as he handed her a small purple wooden box. Carol opened it, standing in awe of the glowing purple string wrapped around a spool, the last string they needed as she closed the box, thanking the Troll, telling him to make the Funk Trolls comfortable as she headed upstairs, ready to present her Queen with the final string as she approached the door to Barb's Bedroom.
Carol opened the door as she saw Barb and Eddy laying down locking lips as they looked up
"Carol, what gives?" Barb said loud enough so the hall could hear her as the Queen pulled her in closing the door, telling her bassist she better have a good reason for interrupting her, adjusting her jumpsuit as Carol held out the box.
"The String of Funk Music, they came early," Carol said, feeling that being given the final string would delight Barb to the point where she wasn't even mad about being caught with Eddy, Carol held out the box as it clicked open, revealing a spool with a purple string as Barb reached in, undoing the string as she plucked it.
"All Six, that's an achievement," Eddy commented, Putting on a shirt that Barb had given him, it was black as she requested he dress up for the concert, part of the reason she did not want his chest distracting her as Barb walked to her case, flicking it open as she placed the final string through the bridge and turning the peg.
The sound of the note-bending could be heard as Barb fastened the guitar, running her fingers along the neck and strumming a chord, blowing Carol across the hall, hitting the wall, Barb happy it actually worked, slid her fingers down into a Guitar lick as the two clapped.
"You ready," Carol asked, dusting herself off as she revealed that she was born ready for this moment, Eddy looked at her asking if he should just pick a seat or if it was assigned as she tugged his shirt collar, saying that he was coming with her.
"You helped with this, it's only fair you be there by my side" Barb explained as Eddy said he would be a fool to turn down the offer as she smiled, holding her Axe of Rock, decorated with the six Strings of Music, playing as the three of them walked through the building, with the strings being magic Barb did not even have to plug her guitar in.
"ROCK AND ROLL!" she shouted, powersliding as she played an amazing solo, jumping to her feet. it was clear to Carol that Barb was enjoying her new toy as the trio headed to the City's arena, centering the top of the Volcano, it was the biggest arena the head but Barb wanted to use it for this night.
"Tonight, everything changes," Barb cheered ecstatic about this concert and honestly a bit nervous, it's one thing to say you're gonna reunite the Trolls it's another to actually do it, the trio headed to the backstage area where Riff was lounging. Barb asked him to get her father ready for the show.
"Sure thing, The other leaders will be waiting for you in the backstage area" Riff explained, walking off to collect the Former King. The Trio made their way to the Backstage Room where three Trolls of the Funk variety were sitting, enjoying the complimentary snacks as they looked at the Trolls, fixating on the one holding the guitar where their string rested.
"You must be Queen Barb, It's a pleasure to meet you," The male said introducing himself as King Quincy and his wife Queen Essence, the younger troll was their son, Prince D. Barb shook their hands, coming off as respectful to the foreign leaders, she was so close to her goal and the last thing she wanted was to offend the other leaders before the concert had even started.
Eventually, Carol left to meet up with Riff and Thrash as the other leaders showed up, Poppy and Branch were there representing the Pop Trolls with Twiggy just lingering around. Dawn was there representing the Country Trolls, Trollzart was there for the Classical Trolls, and Trollex representing the Techno Trolls.
Trollex, while we're here, I just want to say I'm sorry, During or concert in Techno Town, we may have gone a little overboard with our partying and I'm sorry about your Mixing Booth" Barb apologized, wanting to clear things up as Trollex waved his hands, saying it was no trouble, the guys were rebuilding it even better.
"Well, to the reason we are all here, as you know the tribes have lived in disharmony for a long time, due to something that happened a long time ago, and I'm hoping that we can all agree to be one nation of Trolls again, unified," Barb explained smiling as the Trolls nodded in agreement as Barb smiled, getting her hand ready.
"And we will be reunited, one nation under Ro-ack," Barb gasped, feeling a sharp pain as she dropped the Axe of Rock, clattering on the floor as a metal blade pierced through her side, not hitting anything vital but the pain made her fall on her knees. Barb looked down at Eddy's sword as he pulled it out, chuckling as Twiggy drew her Crossbow. Twiggy called out Eddy as he chuckled, sheathing his sword.
"Guilty, and by the way. Queenie here was gonna turn you all into Rock Trolls" Eddy revealed, his voice taking on a darker tone as he opened his eyes, now solid black. The group concluded this was somehow Deyo by his voice and black eyes. He explained that when his previous host was decapitated he sprayed all over this new body and crawled in his wounds.
"Deyo, what do you want?" Twiggy demanded to know as Eddy chuckled, saying she was half right. Deyo was dead, they saw and burnt his body, "I'm just using Eddy to complete my original goal, I Guess Eddy loves you too much to kill you but I got what I came for" Eddy gloated, kicking up the Neck of the Guitar as it landed in his hands.
"And Thank Barb for the lessons, she's the one who taught me how to play... he's a little piece I've written just for tonight it's called. 'Transference' Eddy smirked. playing a lick on the Axe of Rock as it shot beams out, traveling through all the Trolls and their skin turned grey and hair turned black. the mass of colored energy shot into Eddy. He looked at the Kings and Queens now greyed and powerless.
"Don't Worry Barb, The wound will heal... rather Quickly" Eddy mocked, flicking his wrist as a yellow and blue vortex opened up behind them as he smiled.
"If you'll excuse me, I have a concert and crowning to attend, see you in the future," Eddy gestured, strumming a chord as it sent the Trolls through the portal, closing as only Eddy was left in the room.
The Trolls yelled flying through the vortex. Twiggy told them to brace for impact as they fell down the wormhole, which opened as it shot them out, landing in the backstage room, looking around. Barb rubbed her side seeing her wound was gone, demanding to know what happened.
"You were gonna turn us all into Rock Trolls" Branch yelled, choking Barb as Poppy and Twiggy Pulled him off, saying that had more important things to deal with. Twiggy concluded that 'Eddy' sent them into the future, a future that he ruled in Deyo's place.
A/N and isn't that a reveal, Eddy turning evil (technically he's possessed). and now the leaders have been stripped of their power and cast into the future I look forward to doing more with this time period.
