Chapter 1, Horace's first dream.
Miss Peregrine and her children were sitting down in the room they used to watch Horace's dreams. Horace put his monocle up to his eye and played his dreams.
The first dream was of him trying on clothes but then changed to seeing a boy visiting the island with a man. The next dream interested Alma and her children more. It showed an older version of Abe comforting a girl that looked about 18 years old. She had long blonde hair, green eyes filled with tears, a button nose, rounded puffy lips coated in bright red lipstick, and she was wearing a red and white floral dress with red shoes.
"I can't do this. They scare me." The girl whispered to Abe. Abe grabbed her hands.
"There is nothing wrong with you. You are special just like I am," Abe told her. He hugged her.
"I will be here, and I will teach you how to use your gifts," Abe told her again.
"Let's try again." Abe encouraged her.
The girl cried until her tears landed on her hands, turning solid, she looked at him, and he smiled.
"Good girl, now use your other abilities and melt it and heal," Abe told her.
Everyone watched interestedly to see what she would do. They watched as her hand turned red and melted the tears. They watch Abe cut his hand with his knife. The girl's hand turned to gold when the tears had melted. She grabbed a little container and tipped the tears into it. She poured the tears onto Abe's hand, and everyone watched in amazement when the cut healed.
"Well done, Tatiana Jones, you are getting better. You don't need to fear your gifts," Abe told her while hugging her.
"I know I shouldn't, but it's scary out in the world when everyone looks at me, but you make me feel safe," Tatiana murmured. Abe looked at Tatiana and kissed her on the forehead. Tatiana hugged Abe while she cried, which made Abe hug her tighter.
The children and Alma heard Abe start whispering.
"Shhh, it's okay. I'm here. I will protect you, Alma. I wish you could help me. She needs help but also the safety you can provide her," Abe whispered.
The dream stopped, and everyone looked towards Miss Peregrine as she turned on the lights.
"It's time for bed, children. Good night children." Alma said
"Good night Miss Peregrine." The children said at the same time. Alma just smiled as they walked up the stairs to bed.
