Chapter 5 Younger Jake meets Tatiana.
Jake was 11 years old when he met Tatiana, who was still 18 at the time. He was visiting his grandpa to hear more of his stories when he knocked on the door after his parents dropped him off. He was surprised to see a young girl answer the door. She let him in and saw his grandpa sitting in his chair. Jake ran to him and climbed onto his lap while he watched the girl sit on the couch, looking at her.
"This is my friend Tatiana Jones. She is staying with me for a while," Abe said to Jake. Tatiana smiled at Jake, and Jake smiled back. Jake climbed down from his grandpa's lap.
"Can you show me your map again, please?" Jake asked. Abe laughed and went and got his map. When he returned, Jake pulled Tatiana from the couch over to the table where the map was. Tatiana laughed and helped him sit in the chair, standing next to him to see the map.
They ate their dinner, and it was time for Jake to go to bed. Abe and Tatiana put Jake to bed. Abe sat in the chair while Tatiana sat at the end of Jake's bed. Abe reached down and picked up the box that had the photos in and began the story while showing the pictures. Tatiana picked up the photo of Alma Peregrine and held it. Abe saw her holding it and smiled.
When Abe finished the story, Jake was asleep. He and Tatiana left the bedroom and went into the lounge room to talk. Abe gave Tatiana the picture of Alma he had plenty of. She went to her bedroom and put the picture on her bedside table, and fell asleep.
