CHAPTER 01
- They are there!
Stabler had pointed to the two agents waiting in the visiting room.
Eames stood up and followed Stabler.
When they arrived, the two officers turned around.
Eames was surprised to see a man and a woman so tall.
Stabler was tall but Goren was much taller.
Not to mention Benson she was much too tall for her.
She knew she was small but now she felt really tiny. Especially in front of Goren who was almost two heads taller than her.
- Inspector Benson and my partner...
Goren advanced in front of Benson, coming between her and Eames, preventing her from finishing the presentations.
- Inspector Goren!
Stabler refrained from laughing.
Benson made such an expression, to his partner's behavior.
As if she was not used to it.
But what was wrong with Goren?
He was never sociable!
There, in front of this little piece of woman, he was acting far too differently!
It seemed as if he liked the young lady.
Stabler while shaking Goren's hand to welcome him.
- Welcome to the special unit! He showed his hand to his partner. This is Inspector Eames, and I'm Stabler!
Goren turned his attention to Stabler's partner.
She was so small, so tiny!
Her golden hair framed a thin face.
Her skin was as white as ivory and her lips were as white as ivory...
Damn, he had never seen such a handsome inspector in his life!
He felt a blow in his ribs.
He turned his attention to the person who had just given him that low blow, and recognized his partner Benson.
But what was the matter with that big asparagus?
- Stop looking at her like that. She was whispering in his ear. It's as if you were undressing her with your eyes!
Goren was outraged at what Benson whispered to him!
He wasn't like that!
He wasn't the type to undress girls with his gaze.
But he had to admit to himself, that this Inspector Eames must not have been unpleasant to look at in undress.
- Stop it, Goren!
He realized that Benson, as usual, could see right through him. And it was really exasperating!
- Can we see the file ?
Alex nodded and fetched the file, handing it to Benson, but it was Goren who stepped forward to get it!
Stabler couldn't believe it, but this inspector was well on his way to try an approach with Eames.
Poor him, he thought!
Alex tended to reject any man who tried to approach him.
But strangely Eames didn't seem to notice that he was trying to approach him.
Goren put the file on the desk, opened it, and looked at the pieces inside.
He read the summary in it.
He pointed to a photo.
The three of them approached him, looking at what he pointed to.
- There is a detail here, which is not indicated on the coroner's report.
Alex and Elliot looked at each other in surprise.
How did he manage to see this small detail?
Goren smiled a big smile at Eames at his discovery.
Olivia knew that her partner had an eagle eye and that he could see what others couldn't!
Alex was at first amazed by this eagle eye, but the smile he had on his face exasperated him.
- You see there!
He stood up, bringing the back of the back of Eames' eyes closer to her, taking advantage of the opportunity to get closer to her at the same time.
She looked at Stabler, who was holding back laughing, because he could see his reaction and he could see that Goren was starting to annoy her.
How stupid men can be!
And what is it about him that is so stupid that he always gets close to her whenever he can?
She looked at what he was pointing at her.
