Chapter 7 Abe's death.
Tatiana is now 22 years old. One morning while 16-year-old Jake was working at Smart aid when he got a phone call. Jake was on his way to Abe's and Tatiana's place, and Shelley, his supervisor, was driving him.
When Jake was on his way, Abe told Tatiana that she had to go that someone was on his way and that he needed her to be safe. She ran from the house but changed her mind about leaving and went back.
She found Abe being held up in the air with another guy beside him. She covered her mouth when she saw whatever was holding Abe up, took his eyes. The man left, and Tatiana ran to Abe. Tatiana cried onto Abe's chest. Abe's hand went onto Tatiana's head. She lifted her head and looked at Abe.
"Go, you are not safe here anymore. They will find you, I can't protect you anymore, but the bird will. Find her," Abe said. Jake had just got to the house and saw Tatiana crying on his grandpa's chest. He ran to her, letting her cry on him instead.
Jake's grandpa grabbed his arm.
"Protect her, Jake, take her to the island, find the bird she will protect you both," Abe said before he died. Jake pulled Tatiana to his chest and hugged her while she cried. He turned his head when he saw Shelley coming but notice something behind her.
"Shelley, lookout," Jake yelled. Shelley started firing her gun. She saw the devasted Jake and Tatiana, she called the police they came and questioned both, but they didn't say anything. Shelley drove them back to Jake's parent's house. Tatiana lived with Jake's parents now. Jake promised his grandpa that he would protect her.
Jake had to talk to a Dr. Golan but made sure that Tatiana didn't have to. After the session was over, Jake and his father went to Abe's house to find Jake and Tatiana's boxes. They grabbed the boxes and went home. It was Jake's 16th birthday. Jake carried both of the boxes and walked inside the house.
"Surprise, happy birthday Jake." Everyone yelled. Jake saw Tatiana in the crowd of a family member and nodded his head to his bedroom. They walked into his bedroom, and Jake handed Tatiana her box and inside her box was her things as well as the picture of Miss Peregrine.
Aunt Susie came to the door and gave Jake the present from his grandpa, she left, and he opened it. Inside the present was a book, she opened it found a note from his grandpa and a postcard from Alma Peregrine. Jake told Dr. Golan about the postcard.
