CHAPTER 03
- I accept!
Goren dropped the file he had in his hands, scattering everything in it on the ground.
He couldn't believe his ears. She had agreed to accompany him to the police ball. It couldn't be possible!
-No, but still so clumsy, Goren!
Goren was a very intelligent person, but to Olivia's despair, he was very clumsy!
In the beginning it was fun, but in the end it became exasperating!
And now it was even worse since he had set his sights on Alex.
Benson had had a discussion with Eames, because Eames wanted to know more about him.
She had told him about Goren's history of schizophrenia, about his mother's schizophrenia.
But she had made Eames promise never to judge him on that.
Because he had always been a good caretaker for his mother and therefore a really good man.
When she had heard about his mother, and how he was with her, Alex had seen Goren in a different way.
She still found him exasperating, but touching!
He was actually a really nice boy.
And she regretted a little bit how she had been with him.
Olivia elbowed Goren's ribs.
- Hey man, get a grip, will you?
He crouched down to pick up the papers.
He meets a hand.
He moved his hand away from that little hand, as if it had burned him.
It was Eames' hand.
It was at his height, his face close to his own.
He blushed violently.
- Eames, stop playing with him! She shot Stabler with her eyes, who burst out laughing. He doesn't understand anything anymore!
Alex had just wanted to be nice.
She just wanted to help him pick up what he had dropped out of clumsiness.
And his damn partner, imagined something else entirely.
God, how stupid men are!
But she never thought he would react like that.
Blushing and moving away from her, as if she had burned him.
Usually he was so unbearable with his intellect, always telling her theories, with that silly smile on his lips.
And there he was behaving like a child.
He was really weird.
She couldn't understand him, couldn't figure him out.
- At seven o'clock at my place? He nodded his head, watching her hand him the papers, getting up, walking away. See you tonight!
He still couldn't believe it, she had agreed to go with him to the police ball. He still couldn't believe his ears.
He got up, put the file on the desk.
Stabler gave him a hug.
Goren wanted to step aside, but Elliot held him down.
- Maybe we'll have a future couple! Isn't that Olivia?
Benson looked at the man laughing out loud.
What a strange character!
But he was really very pleasant and very nice.
He often talked about his children and it was touching.
But she had seen him at work during the interrogation, and he could be very violent! It was often said that Goren was weird, but Stabler was in a weird way too!
These two men were made to get along!
She looked at his watch, because she had to go to Alex's house to help him get ready!
Alex had asked her for help, because she wasn't the type to get dressed up and so she agreed!
She knew that Alex was a pretty au naturel girl, but if she prepared her she would be really exquisite!
Goren was there in front of Eames' door, not knowing what to do.
He wasn't sure if it was a good idea for her to accompany him to the police ball.
He had a reputation and not a very good one!
What would his other colleagues say, and what would Alex suffer if she was on his arm.
All he wanted to do was to leave.
As if Benson had sensed her presence, she came out of Eames' house, grabbing him by the wrist.
- Where are you going to go, old man? She brought her lips to his ear, whispering. Forget what others think of you, Alex won't care, I've got him on the spot!
He looked at her shocked!
How could she have told Eames that!
Yes it was her partner, but still, she should never have told him that! If she wanted to scare him away it was for the best!
- Don't worry, Alex has made up her mind! And you would have regretted not seeing what you're about to see! She put her hand near his mouth, screaming. Alex, the big beta is here!

Goren shot Benson in the eye, grabbing him by the arm, ready to set him on fire.
But at the vision of Alex who had just passed through the door, he stopped, dazzled.
Alex was wearing a pastel colored dress, which had a slight neckline, and ended above the knee. It brought out his shapes, the ivory of his skin, the blond of his hair.
- Really very pretty!
Benson burst out laughing.
Goren let her go, having God only for Alex.
He hadn't even noticed that he had said his words out loud!
Hence Benson laughing at him.
But Alex, she blushed, not daring to come forward.
Damn it, if I don't do something with those two, nothing will move forward!
She grabbed Eames by the wrist, and with her other hand grabbed Goren, bringing them face to face.
- Thank you very much for what you said! You're not bad at all !
Olivia knew that Goren was struggling to have a stable relationship, but maybe this little piece of woman would finally be the relationship she needed.
He reached out his hand, grabbing Eames' wrist, wrapping a small bracelet with a flower.
Olivia almost burst out laughing!
No, he had dared!
It was for prom nights that the boy offered this to his date! And he had just done that!
No, but she was speechless!
She looked at Eames, expecting to be offended, but she was touched by the gesture!
She couldn't believe it!
- Thank you, it's very nice!
Incredible!
So it could work that kind of thing?
She got herself together, tapping Goren on the shoulder.
- So are we going or what?
Goren gave Olivia a black look, a look that did not escape Eames, who smiled, holding back laughing.
- Yes, yes!
Olivia let the young couple walk towards Goren's car, while she went into hers.
It's going to be a long time!
That's what Benson thought as he contemplated the duet!
It was a really good match!
It was so small, so tiny. And he was so big, so fleshy.
At first glance it would be surprising, but it went well together!
All she hoped was that nobody would say bad things about Goren in the presence of Alexandra!
Because she knew his colleagues well and knew the meanness he tended to have towards him.
Whereas he was really a good person!
He had always supported her when she wasn't well!
He knew her past and never judged her!
But all his colleagues, three quarters of them, knew Goren's background and often called him crazy when he was not!
People could be really mean!
