Chapter 11, Tatiana stays.
The next morning Tatiana knew she didn't want to be away from Alma. She felt safe like she did when Abe was around. Tatiana packed her stuff and handed her keys to the owner. She was going back to the house. Jake and Franklin were still sleeping when she left. Bronwyn opened the door and saw that Tatiana was back. She helped Tatiana with her suitcase. Alma saw Bronwyn come into the kitchen with a suitcase and was about to ask something when Tatiana came in behind Bronwyn.
"You don't mind if I stay here, do you? I feel safe being here than back at the inn." Tatiana said.
"No, I don't mind. You can stay as long as you like," Alma said. Leading Tatiana upstairs to find her a bedroom to stay in. They found one across from Alma. Tatiana unpacked with Alma's help. Bronwyn went to find the other children and found them all outside.
"Guess who is staying here for good?" Bronwyn yelled when no one answered her.
"Tatiana," Bronwyn said, while all the children cheered, even Enoch. After Alma helped Tatiana, she walked downstairs to the kitchen to get the children and Tatiana drinks. She took the drinks out to the children to see them all smiling. She then took Tatiana her drink. She found Tatiana in her bedroom, asleep on her bed. Alma smiled and brushed a bit of Tatiana's blonde hair out of her face. Alma was falling fast for Tatiana, and at the moment, she didn't care if she did.
Alma left the drink on the bedside table for when she woke up. She walked back downstairs, and the children came in loudly.
"Shh, Tatiana is asleep upstairs," Alma said to her children. They all went quiet. Then they had their lunch. Jake came back that afternoon talking to Alma about the letter he found. She was mad at him for it was a private letter. She went outside. Tatiana woke up and drank the drink on the bedside table. After she finished, she took it downstairs. She went with the children for a walk along the beach while Alma stayed. For the whole walk, all Tatiana could think about was Alma. She was falling for her.
When they came back from the walk, Tatiana went to find Alma and saw her in the parlor.
"Alma, I have to talk to you," Tatiana said when Alma looked up.
"I saw two people with white eyes when Abe was alive and when he died," Tatiana said. Alma stood up and went to find her book. She came back and sat down, patting the seat next to her. She opened the book and pointed to the two people she saw. Alma told her about Mr. Barron and his friends. Jake came in while Alma was explaining. Jake left and went back to the inn. Alma wrapped her arms around Tatiana, hoping to give her some comfort. Tatiana leaned into her, closing her eyes, and they both smiled.
