Chapter 53: Giovanni Paradox Cup Part 1
The next morning, everyone returns to the Distortion World, where Cassidy and Butch are waiting.
Cassidy: You all came just in time for the tournament to start.
Butch: The first team to enter the arena will be Team Sora.
Sora, Riku, Auron, Plucky, and Dizzy walks up to the platform. The platform takes them to the Distortion League. the team enters the arena to see fans cheering from all around the stadium.
Kairi: Come on, Sora! You can do it!
Team Sora's first opponent is Team Misty. The team consisted of Misty and Joe.
Joe: Gomamon, show them what you're made of.
Gomamon: Right!
Gomamon starts glowing.
Gomamon: Gomamon Warp Digivolve to...VIKEMON!
Misty pulls out her Pokeball.
Misty: Gyarados, IT'S FIREFIGHTING TIME!
She released Gyarados. Gyarados has a Mega Stone around his neck. Misty activates her Mega Ring on her wrist and Gyarados transforms. He now has a black belly with red lines on the side and giant fins on his back. He has become Mega Gyarados.
Sora: It's probably fair if one of us sit this out.
Auron: I'll just sit back and watch, while you guys take care of things.
Referee: Let the battle begin!
The battle starts with Sora and Dizzy going after Mega Gyarados, and Riku and Plucky going after Vikemon. Vikemon uses his Viking Flails to attack Riku and Plucky, but they dodged all of his attacks. Riku uses Sonic Blade to dash attack Vikemon multiple times, doing alot of damage. Plucky uses Firaga to deal even more damage to Vikemon. Meanwhile, Sora and Dizzy are battling Mega Gyarados. Gyarados uses Flamethrower on Sora and Dizzy, but they dodged the attack. Sora uses Thundaga to zap Gyarados, doing alot of damage. Dizzy delivers punches and kicks on Gyarados, doing even more damage. Both Vikemon and Mega Gyarados are barely standing.
Sora: Are you guys ready to give up yet?
Misty: Not yet, Sora. We're just getting started.
Vikemon uses Arctic Blizzard to freeze Team Sora in ice. Mega Gyarados uses Hydro Pump to shatter the ice, doing alot of damage to Team Sora. Team Sora quickly got up and Sora merges with Dizzy to transform into Valor Form. He is carrying Oathkeeper and Oblivion. Riku and Plucky both casted a Double Thundaga on Vikemon, doing alot of damage. Riku finished Vikemon off with Ars Arcanum, slashing him multiple times, and reverting him back to his Rookie Form. Sora slashed Mega Gyarados multiple times, doing alot of damage. He finished with the Spin Attack, doing alot more damage to Gyarados, reverting him back to his normal form. Both Gyarados and Gomamon are knocked out.
Referee: Team Sora is the winner!
Misty and Joe ran up to their monster partners.
Joe: Are you OK, Gomamon?
Gomamon: I'm fine, Joe.
Gyarados nods to Misty. She pulls out her Pokeball.
Misty: You deserve a good rest, Gyarados.
She returns Gyarados to his Pokeball. Sora walks up to Misty and Joe.
Sora: That was a fun battle.
Misty: You did great, Sora.
Joe: You and your friends are really powerful.
Sora: Well, we've faced alot of really tough opponents.
Misty: We'll be rooting for you in the tournament.
Sora: Thanks, Misty.
Sora and Misty shook hands and took a 10 minute break. After the break is over, Team Sora returns to the arena. Their next opponent is Team Brock. The team consisted of Brock and Izzy.
Izzy: Tentomon, you know what to do.
Tentomon: Right!
Tentomon starts glowing.
Tentomon: Tentomon Warp Digivolve to...HERCULESKABUTERIMON!
Brock pulls out his Pokeball.
Brock: Steelix, LET'S ROCK!
He released Steelix. Steelix has a Mega Stone around his neck. Brock activates his Mega Ring on his wrist and Steelix transforms. He now has spikes on the sides of his jaw, the spikes around his body are made of crystals, and the boulders around his body shows blue rings. He is now Mega Steelix.
Riku: I'll sit back and watch this time.
Sora: It's probably more fair that way.
Referee: Let the battle begin!
The battle starts with Auron and Plucky going after HerculesKabuterimon, and Sora and Dizzy going after Mega Steelix. HerculesKabuterimon uses Mega Electro Shocker on Auron and Plucky, but they dodged the attack. Plucky uses Graviga to send HerculesKabuterimon down to the ground, while Auron keeps slashing at him multiple times, doing alot of damage. Mega Steelix uses Iron Tail to try to hit Sora and Dizzy, but they dodged all of his attacks. Sora uses Firaga on Steelix, doing alot of damage. Dizzy uses Spin Attack, doing even more damage. Both HerculesKabuterimon and Mega Steelix are barely standing.
Sora: That battle is too easy.
Brock: Don't underestimate us.
Mega Steelix uses Sandstorm to cover the entire arena in a sandstorm. Team Sora could barely see a thing. Suddenly, an electric beam came out of the storm and hits Auron and Plucky. It was HerculesKabuterimon's Mega Horn Buster. Suddenly, a bunch of boulders came and hits Sora and Dizzy. It was Rock Slide sent by Mega Steelix.
Plucky: Not this stupid sandstorm again.
Dizzy: Boulders came outta nowhere.
Sora: I know how we can beat them. We need to concentrate where they are.
Team Sora waits for Mega Steelix and HerculesKabuterimon to attack. Suddenly, another Mega Horn Buster came out of the storm and Auron and Plucky dodged it. Plucky uses another Graviga on HerculesKabuterimon, sending him back down to the ground. Sora and Dizzy saw Mega Steelix preparing an Iron Tail and dodged the attack. Dizzy uses Headbutt on Steelix, sending him down to the ground.
Sora: Now, let's finish them off, Auron.
Sora and Auron uses Bushido again. They used Shooting Star, Banishing Blade, and Spiral on Mega Steelix and HerculesKabuterimon, doing alot of damage to the two monsters. When the sandstorm dies down, Steelix and Tentomon are down on the ground, knocked out.
Referee: Team Sora is the winner!
Brock and Izzy ran up to their monster partners.
Izzy: Are you OK, Tentomon?
Tentomon: I'm fine, Izzy.
Steelix nods to Brock. He pulls out his Pokeball.
Brock: You did great, Steelix. Take a good rest.
He returns Steelix to his Pokeball. Sora walks up to Brock and Izzy.
Sora: That was a fun battle.
Brock: You were great, Sora.
Izzy: Somehow, I knew you would win the battle.
Brock: We'll be cheering for you in the tournament.
Sora: Thanks, Brock.
Sora and Brock shook hands and took a 10 minute break. After the break is over, Team Sora returns to the arena. Their next opponent is Team Dawn. The team consisted of Dawn and Mimi.
Mimi: Palmon, you know what to do.
Palmon: Right!
Palmon starts glowing.
Palmon: Palmon Warp Digivolve to...ROSEMON!
Dawn: Piplup, SPOTLIGHT!
Her Piplup ran up to the arena.
Sora: You're not gonna use a Mega Evolution?
Dawn: None of my Pokemon could Mega Evolve. But my Piplup is really powerful.
Sora: I'll look forward to see what you can do.
Auron: I'll just sit back and watch.
Referee: Let the battle begin!
The battle starts with Riku and Dizzy going after Rosemon, and Sora and Plucky going after Piplup. Rosemon uses Rose Rapier to clash with Riku's Keyblade. Dizzy uses Headbutt to knock Rosemon out of the way. Riku uses Strike Raid, doing alot of damage to Rosemon. Meanwhile, Sora and Plucky are battling Piplup. Piplup uses Bubblebeam at Sora and Plucky, but the two dodged the attack. Sora and Plucky uses Double Thundaga to zap Piplup, doing alot of damage. Both Piplup and Rosemon are struggling from the battle.
Sora: Is that all you got?
Dawn: Not yet! I've yet to unleash Piplup's secret weapon.
Piplup suddenly starts glowing, but not evolving.
Dawn: Mimi, tell your Rosemon to attack Piplup!
Mimi: What? But aren't we suppose to be a team?
Dawn: Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
Mimi: OK, if you say so.
She turns to Rosemon.
Mimi: Rosemon, attack Piplup!
Rosemon uses Forbidden Temptation to attack Piplup. Piplup took some damage, but glows brighter. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy uses Trinity Limit. They used Break, Major Drive, Ultima, and finished with Trinity Flash. The attacks did alot of damage to Rosemon and Piplup. Rosemon reverts back to her Rookie Form, but Piplup is still standing. Finally, Piplup uses Bide, unleashing a giant energy beam at Team Sora. Plucky and Dizzy took the attack, knocking them out.
Sora: Plucky! Dizzy!
Dawn: That was Bide. It becomes more powerful the more damage the user takes.
Riku: Unfortunately, you missed me and Sora and your Pokemon is exhausted.
Sora and Riku took the opportunity to finish Piplup off. They slashed at Piplup, knocking him out.
Referee: Team Sora is the winner!
Dawn and Mimi ran up to their monster partners.
Mimi: Palmon, are you OK?
Palmon: I'm fine, Mimi.
Dawn: You were great, Piplup.
Piplup: Piplup!
Sora walks up to Dawn and Mimi.
Sora: That was a great battle. Piplup is really powerful.
Dawn: Thanks, Sora. I told you my Piplup is really powerful.
Mimi: Piplup must be well above Mega Level with that attack.
Dawn: I'll be cheering for you in the tournament, Sora.
Sora: Thanks, Dawn.
Sora and Dawn shook hands and took a 10 minute break. After break time is over, Team Sora returns to the arena. Their next opponent is Team May. The team consisted of May and the Girl Sora.
Ash: Come on, May! You can do it!
Tai: Come on, Sora!
Agumon: Show them what you got, Biyomon!
Girl Sora: Biyomon, you know what to do.
Biyomon: Right!
Biyomon starts glowing.
Biyomon: Biyomon Warp Digivolve to...HOUOUMON!
May pulls out her Pokeball.
May: Blaziken, TAKE THE STAGE!
She released Blaziken. Blaziken has a Mega Stone around her neck. May activates her Mega Ring on her wrist and Blaziken transforms. Her legs are now black, her plumage now sticks upward, and the flames on her wrist are whip-like. She has become Mega Blaziken.
Riku: This time, I'll sit back and watch.
Referee: Let the battle begin!
The battle starts with Auron and Dizzy going after Hououmon, and Sora and Plucky going after Mega Blaziken. Hououmon uses Crimson Flare on Auron and Dizzy, but the two managed to avoid the attack. Dizzy delivers punches and kicks on Hououmon, doing plenty of damage. Auron uses his sword to slash Hououmon multiple times. Meanwhile, Sora and Plucky are battling Mega Blaziken. Blaziken uses Fire Punch, but Sora and Plucky keeps dodging the attacks. She then follows up with Blaze Kick, but the duo dodged that as well. Sora and Plucky both used Double Blizzaga on Blaziken, doing alot of damage. Both Mega Blaziken and Hououmon are barely standing.
Sora: Is that all you got?
May: Don't underestimate us. We're just getting started.
Hououmon uses Starlight Explosion, doing alot of damage to Team Sora. Mega Blaziken follows with Flare Blitz, charging at Team Sora. Auron takes the attack and got knocked out.
Sora: Auron!
Plucky: Sora, we better power up!
Sora: Right!
Sora and Plucky merged to become Wisdom Form. Sora fires multiple Blizzaga spells at Hououmon and Mega Blaziken, doing alot of damage to the two firebirds. He then used multiple Thundaga spells to finish them off. Both Blaziken and Hououmon returns to their normal forms, knocked out.
Referee: Team Sora is the winner!
May and the Girl Sora ran up to their monster partners.
Girl Sora: Biyomon, are you OK?
Biyomon: I'm fine, Sora.
May: You were great, Blaziken.
Blaziken: Blaze!
Sora walks up to May and the Girl Sora.
Sora: That was a great battle.
May: You were great, Sora.
Girl Sora: Yeah, you're alot stronger than a Mega Level.
May: Good luck, Sora. I'll be rooting for you.
Sora: Thanks, May.
Sora and May shook hands and took a 10 minute break. After break time is over, Team Sora returns to the arena. Their next opponent is Team T.K. The team consisted of T.K. and Kari.
T.K.: Patamon, you know what to do.
Patamon: Right!
Kari: Gatomon, show them what you're made of.
Gatomon: Right!
Patamon and Gatomon walks into the arena. Pikachu and Skitty cheers for them.
Pikachu: PIKA!
Skitty: NYA! NYA!
Both Patamon and Gatomon starts glowing.
Patamon: Patamon Warp Digivolve to...SERAPHIMON!
Gatomon: Gatomon Warp Digivolve to...OPHANIMON!
Sora: They look really powerful. We might have to work together to defeat them.
Referee: Let the battle begin!
The battle starts with Sora and Riku going after Seraphimon, and Auron, Plucky, and Dizzy going after Ophanimon. Ophanimon uses Eden's Javelin on Auron, Plucky, and Dizzy, but the trio dodged the attack. Plucky uses Graviga to hold Ophanimon down to the ground, Dizzy uses Spin Attack, and Auron slashed Ophanimon multiple times. Ophanimon took alot of damage. Meanwhile, Sora and Riku are battling Seraphimon. Seraphimon uses Hallow Knuckle on the two boys, but they dodged the attack. Sora activates his Limit Form. He and Riku both used Sonic Blade to dash attack Seraphimon, doing alot of damage to him. Seraphimon and Ophanimon are barely standing.
Sora: Are you guys ready to quit?
T.K.: Hang in there, Seraphimon!
Kari: You can do it, Ophanimon!
Seraphimon and Ophanimon both stood up and used Seven Stars and Sefirot Crystals on Team Sora. Team Sora took alot of damage from the two attacks. They quickly got up and counter attacks. Plucky uses Duck Flare on both angels, doing alot of damage to them. Auron delivers one powerful slash on Ophanimon, doing massive damage to her. Dizzy uses Headbutt on Seraphimon, doing massive damage to him. Sora and Riku finished the two angels off with Ragnarok. They slashed the angels multiple times and fired multiple energy spheres at them. Seraphimon and Ophanimon reverts back to their Rookie Forms.
Referee: Team Sora is the winner!
T.K. and Kari ran up to their Digimon partners.
T.K.: Patamon, are you OK?
Patamon: I'm fine, T.K.
Kari: Gatomon, are you OK?
Gatomon: I'm fine, Kari.
Sora walks up to T.K. and Kari.
Sora: You two were great.
T.K.: Thanks, Sora. You were great, too.
Kari: You proven to be way stronger than a Mega Digimon.
T.K.: We'll both cheer for you all the way, Sora.
Sora and T.K. shook hands and took a 20 minute break. During the break, Team Sora is talking to Ash and his friends. The Ham-Hams were there, too.
Hamtaro: You were incredible, Sora!
Bijou: I knew you would get through.
Sora: Thanks, Ham-Hams. Those Mega Pokemon and Mega Digimon were no match for me.
Ash: Don't get overconfident, Sora. You may have defeated my friends, but I won't be so easy.
Sora: I can't wait for our rematch, Ash.
Ash: Well, we better get back to the stadium.
Team Sora went on the platform that took them to the arena.
