When Tam woke up, his eyes heavy, he found himself in his bed, Linh sitting next to him. She waved Elwin over to check on her brother.

"Good to see you awake," Elwin said, flashing different orbs.

"How's Keefe?" Tam asked, his voice hoarse.

"He hasn't woken up yet, but probably will soon," Elwin replied.

"You only slept through the night," Linh reassured him. "It's midday right now." Tam breathed a sigh of relief, glad he hadn't missed much.

"What about Ro?" he remembered.

"She's fine, but furious," Elwin answered. "Sophie's talking with her downstairs." There was a sudden rustling in the room. Tam bolted upright, so he could see over the end of his bed. Sure enough, Keefe was stirring across the room. Elwin hurried over to him.

"I'll go get Sophie," Linh said, rushing downstairs. Elwin began flashing orbs on Keefe.

"Where's Tam?" Tam heard Keefe ask quietly.

"I'm right here," Tam called back. Keefe sat up on his bed, smiling slightly when he saw Tam.

"Hey," Keefe said.

"Hey," Tam replied, smiling back. Elwin let out a laugh.

"What?" Keefe and Tam both asked him.

"I've witnessed proof of the impossible," Elwin said, shaking his head in amazement.

"Please elaborate," Keefe responded. Elwin just sighed, chuckling, as Linh walked back into the room with Sophie, who waved at Tam before heading over to Keefe's bed. Linh sat down next to Tam.

"Are you feeling okay?" she asked him.

"Yeah," Tam nodded. "Just exhausted. Where's Marella?" he asked, noticing the absence of his sister's friend.

"She's with her mom, having a home day. The team's been looking into locations of Neverseen hideouts, possible places Glimmer could have escaped to. But clearly they don't have much to go on."

"The Neverseen probably know we're looking for them anyway, so it won't be much use."

"That doesn't mean we're not going to try."

A few days later, Keefe and Tam came downstairs to find Sophie, Marella, Linh, Wylie, Meruca, Biana, Dex, Stina, Grady, Mr. Forkle, and all the respective bodyguards all crowded in the living room.

"Um," Keefe started.

"What is happening?" Tam asked.

"It's a full-team meeting," Grady said. "Except for Fitz. He's having a 'mental health day'. Apparently, he didn't take the news regarding Glimmer very well."

"It was bad," Biana said, shuddering. "Food and broken plates everywhere."

"Did you not tell him right after it happened?" Keefe asked.

"We were all too scared," Dex said. "Sophie finally did yesterday."

"I wasn't expecting him to freak out that much," Sophie sighed. "I mean, we all knew this was probably going to happen."

"Anger issues aside," Mr. Forkle interjected. "We have a lot to talk about. Let's start with brainstorming possible locations of a Neverseen hideout."

After hours of trying to figure things out, Keefe and Tam were sent to their room. Keefe stole another piece of mallowmelt before trudging up the stairs. He sat down next to Tam on his bed.

"That was tiring," Tam sighed. Keefe nodded.

"Forkle has a way of making even the most exciting situations sound boring," he responded. Tam laughed bitterly.

"I wish we could still be training," Tam said sadly. "But I'm afraid we might be interrupted again."

"Yeah," Keefe sighed. "I kind of liked it."

"You liked hanging out with just me?" Tam gasped playfully.

"I guess I did," Keefe chuckled.

"Aww, how sweet," Tam joked. Keefe's face turned red. "Are you blushing?"

"Absolutely not."

"Sure," Tam grinned. Keefe shoved him off the bed, smiling. Tam smirked, grabbed Keefe's leg, and pulled him down too.

"Oh, you are asking for it," Keefe laughed, reaching his hand out to mess up Tam's hair.

"Don't you do it," Tam warned, his eyes wide.

"I'm gonna do it," Keefe said, moving his hand closer.

"You wouldn't dare."

"Try me," Keefe darted forward but Tam anticipated the attack and dodged out of the way. Tam seized his opportunity and quickly ran his hands through Keefe's hair, completely disheveling it. Keefe's jaw dropped open.

"You didn't just touch The Hair," he gasped, offended.

"Oh, I did," Tam replied, before realizing his mistake. "Oh no."

"Oh no is right," Keefe responded before charging at Tam. Soon the two boys were rolling around on the floor, trying to mess up the other's hair more, but laughing all the while. All of a sudden, Ro trudged into the room, causing Keefe and Tam to freeze in terror.

"Um, what is happening?" Ro asked, mildly concerned.

"Uhh…" Keefe tried, his and Tam's faces heating up.

"Wait a second," Ro said, noticing the messed up hair. "Woah. Did he touch The Hair?" Keefe and Tam exchanged glances, which Ro took as a yes. "Wow. Tam, you, of all people, have managed the unmanageable. LORD HUNKYHAIR HAS FINALLY MET HIS DEMISE!"
