Eternally Flickering Flame

My name is Magnus Megalosaurus.

I'm one of the Secret Dinosaurs from the theropod kind destined to be one of the seven guardians of Dainason Kingdom, the Element of Fire and possessed the power of telekinesis.

My life of being a Secret Dinosaur was shrouded in mystery for me. I have no idea why I was chosen to be a Secret Dinosaur.

What exactly did they see in me?

First off, the moment of myself born into this world under the care of creatures known as humans, my childhood was very dark and lonely. The human who took care of me immediately did something to me where I got my telekinesis powers.

During that part, I had gone through a lot to endure it. Despite this, I don't mind doing whatever I want to do with this power.

I had fun levitating objects I caught my sights on using my power. However, while I was levitating...

"Ah! Be more careful!"

"Stop that!"

"Don't be so rough!"

CRASH

The sound of breaking echo on the ground as I stop my power.

"Nooo!"

"Bad Megalosaurus!"

Everyday was always like this. Whenever I play with or without using my powers, I always get scolded and being nagged!

I mean, what's wrong with me playing with the way I am? My personality is hot with a burning passionate flame despite my body wasn't being trained likeDeinonychus Trio or Therizinosaurus.

Since then, when that human know that my way of behavior and playing was rough, he avoided other dinosaurs to go near me.

At this moment, I became lonely with nobody to play with me.

Including on special days like my birthday, which is also the same day as Christmas...which that human said.

From what I had learned from human's point of view about special days like birthdays or christmas, there's always a lot of other species whether human or animals spent their time together to celebrate them.

However in my case, I spend those special days all alone with nobody of my kind except for that human who changed me.

"I hate this!"

Being desperate for friends, I unleashed my powers on everything and break them!

This kept on going until I'm grown up and things got worse on that day... A bright light envelop me as I turn back into a card.

Despite in my card form, I heard that human's last words.

"You bad boy! You're going to be on the shelf for a while to think about all the things you've done!"

And so, that's when my life turn into complete darkness without a sound to be heard.

I'm so lonely... I'm scared... I hate this...!

I absolutely won't forgive him for doing this to me!

Time passed who knows how long, I was summoned out once again in a long time.

It's really been so long...

I roar out with all my might as I found myself in a nostalgic surrounding. There're 2 dinosaurs of my kind, a blue theropod and yellow horned one. I even saw a couple of humans who looked different than the one I'm with before in the past.

Since I've never made contact with others before, I'm feeling anxious about this. So instead I run ahead knocking them both and smashed some boulders that are in the way.

"Don't get any closer!"

I screamed and all of a sudden, as if responding to my feelings, meteor showers starts to pour down making them run for safety.

After that, I saw the blue dinosaur who looked like was about to do something when we made eye contact. Scared, I activate one of my telekinesis power, "Zero G Throw."

I lift it up high off the ground just about to touch the sky, then drop it down. It shine blue then dissappear into its card like how I was.

Suddenly, after that I was struck by lightning hit shot from the yellow horned one and I fell down. Before I could get up however, I was suddenly starting to slide from an incoming thing from behind. It led me towards a boulder and I was knocked out.

Feeling my last remaining strength left, I was once again turn back into my card form.

Sigh...

It was only for a short while, and nothing changed. That's when I realized that nobody would accept me for who I am.

The flame of my soul is slowly flickering about to be put out at any moment.

The next time I was summoned out, after the other Secret Dinosaurs and I ate the fruit shared by Deinonychus Trio, I learned that it gave me long life.

I don't understand it myself. Why? I live in isolation in forever so how did it comes to this...?

At first, it was confusing for me and so are the others. But then one day, something changed...

Two Secret Dinosaurs, Deinonychus Trio became partners of a human female named Maia and Cryolophosaurus with similar views with mine somehow became much happier because of a little human girl named Cera who even gave her a name, Crystal.

I don't understand how they could changed so much because of those human girls. But from what I've learned, those girls had the ability to understand us dinosaurs which was a shocking fact!

Seeing them so happy like this made me curious. If those human girls could change them and make them happy, I wonder, how about me?

This could be my chance to change myself.

One day, I found Crystal Cryolophosaurus and a human girl playing together in a pond. It seems that girl was doing some sort of activity using one of Crystal's ice move, Frozen Glide.

The girl had red hair and blue eyes.

From what Crystal told me, the human girl asked her to use Frozen Glide to froze the pond to practice something called, ice skating.

Feeling shy, I stay hidden while watching them from afar.

"You can do it, Cera! Do your best!"

"Thanks Crystal!"

Crystal looks so happy together with that girl and vice versa.

"Woah! I'm going to fall!"

Suddenly, I hear screaming. It's seems while the girl was ice skating, she started flailing and looked like about to fall!

Before she hit the ice floor, instantly I activate my power to catch her from hitting the ice.

"Oh? Huh?"

While the girl's confused, I gently set her down to Crystal's side.

"Crystal, what just happened?"

Crystal with a grin on her face, she look behind and found me hidden behind a tree in my small form.

If you're wondering why I'm in my small form, the reason was obvious because of how violent I am.

"Who is it?"

"I think I know..."

Crystal lower herself for the girl to climb on her back. Then they make her way to me.

"Oh no! What should I do?! They're coming!"

While I was panicking, I'm suddenly come face to face with the human girl!

"Hello there."

Gah!

Instantly, I accidentally use my power and I levitate the girl high up.

"Ahh! So high!"

"Megalo, put her down immediately!"

Crystal's voice snapped me out and I deactivated my power unknowingly almost dropped her before Crystal safely catch her.

"Are you alright, Cera? You didn't get hurt?"

I was expecting to hear the girl in fear for the sudden power of being lifted, instead she laughed.

"That was fun! It's shockingly scary at first but fun! It's like I'm flying!"

Well, that was a first. I never expected this.

Mostly everyone fear me and my powers, but instead this human girl let out a happy laugh and said something which is the opposite of what they said to me.

"I'm sorry."

I apologize to the girl for that.

"It's alright. My name is Cera. Are you the Megalosaurus with Telekinesis ability?" I've heard stories about you from Crystal from time to time.

"Y-Yes..."

"Well, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Let's be friends!"

She hold out her hands to me.

I never felt like this for so long. Looks like her power of communicating with dinosaurs wasn't a lie after all. Other humans just ignored me and fear me... but not Cera.

Instead, she just smile and ask me to be friends.

A couple of days later, my life changed into a positive turn. She gave me training lessons to use my telekinesis powers for good.

For example, if something's about to fall, I'll use my power to stop them before they hit the ground.

There are times when Cera got angry when I get a bit of a temper during training but unlike Dr. Z who always nagged, her way of teaching was both gentle and serious.

So in order to control my temper a bit, Cera suggested meditation to calm my mind. I have to say, this is much more effective this way.

It's much more calm and soothing~

After that, I was given the name "Magnus". Cera said my name means "Great" in another language meaning... which also reflects the part of my dinosaur name meaning.

I love the name she gave me! I'm really happy.

However my time spending with Cera was brief because she's human and she has human things to do like going to school and so on.

Without her around, it's really boring.

I get to experience all of my "firsts" with Cera and her family.

My birthday and christmas on the same day becomes twice as fun unlike in the past including other kind of holidays.

Halloween is my favorite. One time, Cera and her family decorated their home into a haunted mansion. Using my telekinesis powers as an attraction, I use it to spookily levitate objects like how ghosts do to the visitors.

I have to say, using my powers to scare humans in Halloween was a positive way without really scaring them.

And at some point, I had interest in loud rock music too during the Halloween concert played by human Rock and Roll bands. Cera said that kind of music allows anyone to freely express their dreams or something deep. It really moves my dino heart to know this that it matches my personality and desire to be noticed.

From then on, I made new friends through Cera and everyday was full of happy times for me.

Now I sort of understand why I was chosen to be a Secret Dinosaur. Being one of the first kind in the name, I get to experience many first times and thanked the fruit that gave me this chance.

I'm finally free from this dark, lonely world and the fire of my soul no longer flickers. It's now burning brightly like the flames of the sun.

If you're wondering why his birthday is on the same day as on Christmas, I checked his flashbacks from Dr. Z and I found out that there's a small Christmas tree. That's what I got from my thought.

Around here, I'm taking a 2 week break because I'm sick.

1. During Deinonychus Trio's time there, their appearance was only short lived so I don't think it's necessary to write it.

2. Yes, after writing all of the Secret Dinosaurs down, I'll return to my main story, Secret Dinosaur Princess. (For Miku, probably if wanted to.)
