Author's Note:

Hi guys and girls. This is my first Percy Jackson FanFic so I'm excited to see how it will turn out. This takes place after the war with Gaia, and is assuming that the Trials of Apollo didn't take place. Leo is back quickly with Calypso, who is now living in one of the guest rooms in the Big House. This was a result of me trying to take a break from studies and a dream I had last night. Read and Review please. Enjoy!

Chiron stood next to Thalia's pine and watched the demigods do their activities. Things had turned more or less back to normal after the war with Gaia, but there was still some tension in the air. Laughter had depleted, which used to be heard all throughout the camp. Most of the demigods were hacking away at the dummies while a few were at the archery range. There was no one at the volleyball court and only a few of the Apollo campers were playing basketball. Chiron was happy that the demigods were training but he also wanted them to have some fun. They were children, after all. He trotted back to the Big House. He needed to come up with something.

One Day Later

Percy stared at the notice in his cabin. There was to be an announcement after dinner. He wondered what it could be.

After Dinner

Everyone had gathered around the campfire, anxious to know what the announcement was about. Chiron had brought a long table with a black cloth covering whatever was on it. He raised his hand for attention and said, "So I'm sure you're all wondering what this announcement is all about. Well, I've decided to introduce a new event. Welcome, demigods, to the First Annual Camp Half Blood Prank War!"

All the half-bloods shot confused and excited looks at each other and started talking simultaneously. Chiron pounded his hoof on the stone floor to get everyone to quiet down. "The rules are simple. One person will be picked from each cabin, except for the Hermes cabin which will have two due to its size. The person picked can nominate another person from his cabin with the consent of the entire cabin. The competition will take place over many days. At the end of each day, the person with the least amount of successful pranks and the person who falls for the most pranks will be eliminated. You cannot take help from anyone. This is to test your ingenuity and creativity and yours alone. No alliances are allowed either. Finally, I trust you all not to harm each other too much. You will all be given a magic t shirt which will allow me to see the number of successful pranks and the number of pranks you fell to. The rest I will tell as the competition progresses. Now, it's time for the picking.

Chiron took off the black cloth to reveal bowls lined on the table. Each bowl had slips of paper in it and each was marked with a number; 1 through 20 but there was no 2. The number of slips also varied in every bowl. It was obvious what they stood for.

"Starting with cabin 1. Zeus." There was only one slip in the bowl. "Jason please come on up."

Jason walked towards Chiron and stood next to his bowl. Next it was cabin 3. Poseidon. There were 2 slips in the bowl and Chiron caught Percy. Tyson cheered for his brother and Percy joined Jason.

Percy:

A prank competition? This was going to be fun. Percy had been bored the last few weeks and now he was going to unleash his fun side. He glanced at Jason and grinned to himself. Poor guy. He didn't stand a chance. He was too much of a rule follower to be a good prankster.

Next Chiron caught Katie's name for Cabin 4 and Sherman's from Cabin 5. Nobody nominated anyone else. Then from cabin 6 Chiron grabbed a slip and called 'Malcolm,' but Malcolm immediately nominated Annabeth to takehis place instead who grinned and stepped in the line.

Annabeth:

Annabeth saw the way Percy looked at her. He thought she wouldn't be much of a competitor in this competition. Well, he was wrong. If intellect and creativity was the name of the game, this was hers.

Chiron dipped his hand into Cabin 7's bowl and caught Will Solace's name. He tried to nominate Austin to take his place but he refused and Will stepped up. As Thalia and Pheobe were there too Cabin 8 also had two slips, of which Thalia's was taken. Then from Cabin 9 Chiron pulled out Harley's name, who grinned and looked at Nyssa

"Leo?"

"Leo." Nyssa replied.

"Leo." Jake smiled.

Leo grinned from ear to ear and took his place.

Leo:

Dang, this was going to be fun. Leo Valdez would add another title to his long list which included Commander Tool Belt, Chef Leo the Tofu Taco Expert and Bad Boy Supreme. He was now going to be a Prank Master. He scanned the faces of the other competitors. Jason, he wasn't too worried about. Percy. Leo thought that Percy was a worthy competitor. There was mischief behind his twinkling eyes, just waiting to be unleashed. Katie and Sherman? No way. Annabeth. That girl was full of surprises. Her stormy grey eyes were also analyzing the competition. Leo had learned not to underestimate her. Will and Thalia didn't scare Leo either. He grinned again.

Chiron grabbed Piper's name from Cabin 10 then proceeded to the Hermes bowl which contained more than a dozen slips. 2 were to be taken from here. Chiron first caught Connor's name and Leo groaned inwardly. He was going to be tough to beat. He just had to hope Travis didn't join too. Chiron fished out another name from the bowl. It was Cecil but he immediately nominated Travis, who stepped next to his brother. Leo groaned again. This was tougher than he thought. There was only one camper in Cabin 12 so Pollux knew he had to take part. He was excited though.

Nico:

Nico knew his name would be called out. He was a little excited as if the kid inside him was coming back out. He wanted to show the Stoll brothers and everyone else that he was not someone to be underestimated. As soon as his name was called he stepped next to Pollux.

Chiron called the names of Butch, Clovis and Damien from Cabins 14, 15 and 16. Nobody nominated anyone. From Nike's Cabin 17, Holly's name was called and then there was a fight between her and Laurel, who wanted Holly to nominate her. In the end Laurel sat back down sulking while Holly took her place beside Damien. After that Paolo, Chiara and Lou Ellen were picked and no one nominated anyone. Then Chiron gave them their T-shirts and told them that after the elimination and before dawn was the safe time and no one was to prank another during that time. Their T-shirts would heat up every time one of their pranks was successful and get cold every time they fell for a prank. The war was to begin tomorrow.
