Location: Dr Drakken's Caribbean Lair
Inside the lair's central room Dr Drakken impatiently tapped his hands on the side of the main console. Shego was late, not only was that just rude but she was also making him look bad in front of the others.
Casting a glance towards the monitor he noted his five fellow scientists, the other members of the so-called Intelligencia, each watching with various degrees of boredom and impatience.
"Are you certain that your lackey managed to secure the data core? We can't afford any setbacks, especially not when we're so close to completion" one asked, adjusting his glasses while fixing Drakken with his typically arrogant glare.
"I promise you Dr Stockman, Shego will be here soon WITH the data core. Also you're so lucky she wasn't here to hear you call her a lackey" Drakken replied, smirking as Stockman failed to fully hide his panic at the thought of an irate Shego.
"She has proven very effective in the past, not to mention scary" Agreed another
"Yeah Viceroy's right we've got nothing to worry about Baxy" chimed a man with a large nose and crooked neck
"I've told you Doofenshmirtz" Stockman growled "You are to address me as Dr Stockman"
"Fine sheesh, party pooper" Doofenshmirtz mumbled
"If you nerds are done I'd like to get paid so I can get on with my vacation" a female voice called out from behind Drakken
All eyes snapped over to see a green skinned woman lounging on a seat holding a large rectangular case
"Ah Shego I knew you wouldn't disappoint" Drakken said as he made to grab the case only to find himself stopped short by a glowing green palm
"Cash first." she lazily stated "Seriously you sent me all the way to some rundown factory in Paris, this had better be worth it"
A nervous chuckle from Drakken and a few wireless money transfers later and Shego casually tossed the case to her employer, rolling her eyes as he stumbled back.
"Finally! With this we can begin. By which I mean we can commence with our plan. The plan overseen by me, Mojo Jojo" laughed the simian fiend
"Indeed soon we shall have a limitless army with which to crush all our enemies, and then we shall take our rightful place as rulers of this world. HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA HA!"
"Alright Mandark keep your bowl cut on" Viceroy snarked "Once the data core is loaded into our joint server we can activate the devirtualization chambers and start bringing our army into the real world"
"I think you mean the 'Turn data into matter inators' don't you?" Doofenshmirtz prompted
"I refuse to call them that" Stockman deadpanned before readying the system for the data transfer. "Alright everyone check the status of your devirtualization chambers, Copper Canyon base is fully functional as expected from MY genius"
"Townsville base, the base that we have constructed within the city of Townsville is also fully operational" Mojo announced
"Amity Park base online" Said Mandark
"Norrisville is looking good"
"Danville is a-okay"
"Excellent and now the final piece" Drakken cackled.
Drakken carefully connected the core to the main console and began the transfer process. Everything appeared to be going smoothly until several error and warning messages began to fill up everyone's screens.
"What is this? Drakken you blue ignoramus what did you do?!" Stockman yelled frantically trying to get the system back under control
"Me? How do we know it wasn't the monkey!" Drakken snapped back earning an offended glare from Mojo
"Uh..okay this uh..this might be my bad" Doofenshmirtz couch awkwardly "Looks like the old virus protection was a little out of date. B-But don't worry I can fix this! Just need to…"
Whatever he needed was lost when a window broke behind him revealing a small furred creature in a stylish hat.
"Wha- Perry the Pla-OOF" was as far as Doof got before Perry leapt forward kicking him into the screen and end the call
"Was that a Duck-billed Platypus in a fedora?" Viceroy asked his equally bemused colleagues as they continued to desperately get the situation under control.
Location: Intelligencia server (moments earlier)
After a seeming eternity of wandering the virus finally came to a stop. Ever since it had been cast out of the mainframe that was rightfully his to rule, he'd been lost. Cast adrift within the Web until finally he arrived here, the server's datascape shining like a beacon through the fog.
But that wasn't all. There was something else here, something powerful
Standing amidst the sprawling datascape stood a lone purple, humanoid figure. In front of it was a large dimly glowing icon shaped rather like an eye, bound by several static like chains.
"Even now in it's incomplete and dormant state I can feel it's raw processing power" The figure mused "If I can add this to my own code then nothing, not even the 'Guardians' could keep me from reclaiming the mainframe"
Approaching the icon the figure was stopped by several crackling columns.
"A security feature" he growled before noting that one such pillar appeared greyed out and lifeless "Ah what have we here. A little outdated are we?"
Stepping up to the inert pillar the figure effortlessly sliced it down with it's claws before approaching the icon once more.
"Now then let's see what exactly we have here" placing a hand upon the eye the figure closed its own eyes to concentrate "What's this, a fellow virus? No. No this is so much more.."
At his touch the icon began to glow brighter as the long dormant programme began to stir. Without warning it flared bright, disorientating the figure before it began to draw it in.
"What are you..Wait this programme is corrupted, incomplete" a terrible realisation dawns upon him "Are you trying to use me to complete your code? No! I will not be consumed!"
The figure desperately clawed at the eye but to no effect as it continued to be pulled deeper and deeper into the icon.
"I..am..Megabyte..and I...will not...be..controlled!" with that the figure was fully absorbed into the icon and for a brief moment silence covered the server.
The icon continued to glow as its consciousness slowly returned. Suddenly it's form began to flicker, its colour shifting from purple to red then black. The eye itself began to twist and distort, going back and forth between a humanoid shape and the icon.
The viruses battled for control, neither gaining the upper hand for long until after what felt like an eternity it stopped. It's form settling into a larger bipedal shape. The newly combined virus flexed it's right hand. Its fingers were replaced entirely by three sharp claws trailing black smoke. Smaller eye symbols periodically flashed across its black armored torso.
Turning its attention to the server it could feel the presence of several users. Megabyte could never challenge a user directly. But it was no longer Megabyte, now with the fragments of X.A.N.A. it was reborn.
It's musings were disturbed by a sudden ping of data. Turning its attention towards it the virus attempted to isolate just where the signal came from. Devirtualization chambers? How...interesting.
And in the rapidly darkening data scape of the server the virus smiled.
Location: Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, Danville U.S.A. (present)
"Wha- Perry the Pla-OOF"
Perry watched as his nemesis crashed into the monitor ending the call with. He'd have to look into who they were later, right now he had to stop Doofenshmirtz's latest hairbrained scheme.
Staggering to his feet the doctor fixed him with an annoyed glare.
"Okay one, cutting me off in the middle of my surprised greeting? Rude. Two, I'll get on with the whole 'epic battle of good and evil' in a moment. If I don't stop this virus then we're all in for a bad time." pausing for a beta he continued "Not the kinda bad that I'm normally trying to do, I mean really bad"
Quirking a brow Perry chittered back in reply.
"No I am not stalling!" Doof huffed "If I don't fix this then.."
Doof trailed off as the monitor flickered back to life and nearby a large circular machine began to activate.
"Oh hey the 'Turn data into matter inator' is working" noting Perry's expectant expression he continued "I see you're expecting me to explain how this relates to my past trauma but this time it's actually a group effort. Digitally downloaded army, it's pretty neat"
He then remembered the virus and started to back away as Perry shifted into a fighting stance.
As the device continued to charge so too did the light at its center increase. From the light came a small creature, a pale shell marked with the image of an eye, four short mechanical legs and a single glowing eye staring forward from under its shell.
"Wait is that it? Not gonna lie this is a pretty big let down. Oh well shouldn't be too hard to clean this mess up" Doof said wiping his brow in relief.
The pairs optimism was quickly squashed when four more of the creatures appeared beside it followed swiftly by three flying creatures that resembled an eight winged, legless mosquito and a large seemingly living stone cube scuttled forward, an eye placed in the center of four of it's six sides.
Now facing down a much larger threat Perry gave Doof a deadpan look.
"All right, all right fine I jinxed it. Sheesh, kick a guy when he's down why don't you" he replied holding up his hands in mock surrender "But I'm sure that from here the situation can only improve"
At that moment the previously blank monitor screen flickered, the background now displaying the same eye symbol that adorned the creatures before the face of a hulking armored figure appeared on screen.
"I AM GIGABYTE. AND THIS SYSTEM IS MINE" before vanishing once more.
As more creatures continued to spawn from the machine Perry grit his teeth and tried to prevent them from surrounding him while Doof moved to take cover behind him.
"Yeah okay no..this..this is much worse"
