Chapter 2: Paralell outlooks
Henry
"Well then...Better be…GRYFFINDOR!" The Sorting Hat shouted as I went to go sit next to the kids that I met on the train.
"Why did that take so long Henry?" a voice questioned.
"Yeah Henry?" another one said.
"The hat wanted to put me in slytherin, and I said 'Nope', Neville. Also Ron, I told you to leave me alone, as it is very clear that you only want to be friends with 'The-Boy-Who-Lived." I said to them both.
Ron made a hurt face and walked down to sit next to someone who looked to be his older brother.
Neville made a face. "Good riddance. He was really annoying."
"Yeah he was. Anyway, what have you thought so far? I mean I was raised around this and still haven't seen everything." I asked before pouring myself a glass of pumpkin juice.
"It's pretty cool, and theh castle is massive enough to house the entirety of wizarding britain, or at least I think it is. And don't get me started on the greenhouses." Neville had a look of shock and awe on his face
"They are big enough to be seen from the boats, andjust think about the insides. It's like-" Neville said, but I cut him off. "Let's eat first, and then we can gush about plants later."
"Oh fine." Neville huff.
It was at this moment that I felt a burning in my skull. I put my hand to my forehead, and it stayed there for a while. It was like there was another presence in my skull, linking me and another person together.
Harry
I go to sit by my housemates, when the next name is called out.
"Ivys, Crystal."
"Hmm, that name sounds familiar." I thought. A girl with curly black hair and orangey-blonde tips steps up to the stool, and the headmaster puts his hands on the side of her head. She sat there for about a minute and a half.
"THUNDERBIRD!"
"Harry Potter." She said in a neutral tone.
"Yes, I've been told that's what my name is." I replied evenly, before taking a bite of my salad. We make eye contact. I assumed that we both liked what we saw there because neither of us ended storming off.
"Crystal Ivys, Pleased to meet you." she stuck out her hand, which I promptly shook. Neither of us felt the tingle that went down our spines. I had, at the time, just assumed that it was just cold in the great hall, so I didn't think much of it.
"I can't help but feel that I have heard your name before, Potter." She looks at me strangely. It was she was staring into my soul, and it was very uncomfortable. She kept staring at me for a few more seconds and couldn't take it any more. She burst out laughing.
"What in the bloody name of Merlin is so funny Ivys?" I said, my bewilderment let the slightest hint of a british accent slip out. Thankfuly, Crystal didn't notice.
"Oh your face!" she said between laugh and gasping for air. "Priceless!" Crystal almost fell out of her chair. When she recovered her composure, she said "anyway Harry, can I call you Harry? Harold seems a bit too 'proper' for someone like you. Please, call me Crystal."
"That's fine, most people call me Harry anyway. Also, thank you Crystal."
"You're welcome, and - if you don't mind me asking – what for?"
"Making me laugh. I haven't had a laugh like that in a long time."
"Harry, I feel like one of two things just happened."
"Oh?" I responded "Do tell."
"Either something significant to history just happened."
"And the other?"
"Harry, I think that this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." She smiled at me.
I agreed.
LATER THAT SAME WEEK…
Sirius
Sirius Orion Black was ecstatic. He had found his godson! It had only taken, oh about ten years or so, but the point is that he was still alive. Naturally, like all big discoveries this revelation came with a few questions. What was Harry doing in New York of all places?
He hadn't told Moony but he was too busy helping Dumbledore care for Henry, and where Henry went, trouble usually followed. Sirius wanted to go right now, but he had a long term assignment for the auror corps. He was going to find Pettigrew and throw his big, fat, smelly arse in jail for what he did to the James and Lily.
The soonest Sirius could move to america would be in three years, and hopefully there would be a job opening sometime around then. But in the mean time, Sirius had a rat to catch.
?
The moment that he had awaited was approaching. Everything had led up to these events. He had spent year after year, planning for a cause, saving for a rainy day, if you will. Of course, he had a few contingencies in case things awry. Not that it would, for he had planned for every other possibility.
Except for one.
…
…
But that was unlikely to happen. Unlikely as in once in a blue moon unlikely.
Besides, with the amount of planning that he had poured into this project, nothing could possibly go wrong.
After all, once the old fool, the evil bastard, the weak little boy and the other little boy of which his entire plan was based around, nothing could stop what had been set in motion.
For his moment would soon be arriving, and he would not miss it. No, he wouldn't indeed. Not that it would happen this year, or the next year, but soon. And soon enough, he would be ready to take the wizarding world by storm.
His second chance at ascension would not be denied.
It was, after all, only fair.
A.N: WOO BABY! I must be doing something right, because not a week after I publish this project, I come back to see that not only do I have 146 views, but also 34 followers, 22 favorites and Thunderwand has been added to a community.
Anyway, back on track, I have come to tell you all lovely supporters that I am going to be doing either a weekly or a every other weekly schedule. This is because, Though I do want to work on this story more than I have time for, I am a high schooler with 5 sibilings, and between those two, I don't have much time.
Sorry about the shorter chapter, but I'm doing a few time-jumps next chapter, and with the way that things were going, I would not have been able to fit it in this chapter. So instead, I introduced this story's antagonist. Let me know what you think, and any suggestions would be welcome.
Lastly, I am going to be applying two very interesting things that will give this story a bit more of a hands-on kind of feel. First, every 50th reviewer gets to decide a minor plot point. Second, I will be doing votes on a few chapters as well.
Here's the first vote. CAST YOUR LOTS EVERYONE!
1. Should I make the time jump give info about what happened in the years that I skip over?
2. What will Crystal's unique heritage be?***
a. Veela
b. Siren
c. Dryad
d. Mountain nymph
***Please note that each one of these come with their own special abilities
At any rate, thanks for reading, please review, a follow/favorite or two would be nice, and goodbye!
