It was the last Friday of the month, family game night! Yumeko and Mary's apartment were next on the host list, so that's where the high school friends found themselves that night.
At the last FGN, they chose a game to play.
Itsuki's choice, Among Us, had been drawn out of the hat. Yumeko was a little disappointed that Uno wasn't drawn, but for the rest of them, especially Ryota, anything was better than a "casual" gamble.
--
Ding! Dong!
Yumeko yelled from the blanket cocoon she and Mary made, "Ryota, the door's unlocked!"
He opened the door and waved before taking his shoes off and putting his bag down. "I'm a hundred percent sure that you kept the door unlocked so you could stay like that," he mumbled as he took the corner seat.
"You aren't wrong," Yumeko snuggled her chin onto Mary's head.
Mary added on, "Well, that and-"
"Y'all could've been robbed, and Ryota, next time you cheat like that in a race, it's on-site." The trio didn't have to look over to see who had barged in. Ryota muttered a noncommittal apology as Itsuki kicked off her shoes and threw her bag down. She sped walked to the longest part of the couch and flopped down.
"Oh yeah, like a robber would be that loud, and if you cared about us getting robbed so much, why didn't you lock it back? Mary rolled her eyes.
"Oops, sorry, already sat down. Why don't you do it?" Itsuki sighed.
"I guess the fancy rich stuff you brought is getting robbed too," Ryota announced dramatically.
"You say that like she won't just buy more," Mary chuckled.
"I'll buy your entire family name, too," Itsuki chided.
"Aw, I wanted to change Mary's last name," Yumeko cooed.
"You will don't worry, and we'll make the Sumeragi's pay for the wedding," Mary whispered.
"As if, y'all forgot literally everybody but me is homophobic," Itsuki mumbled.
"Yikes, that's right. How's that going?" Ryota asked.
"For people who were raised on gambling, they're incredibly blind to hints and obvious signs. I like it that way though. After I inherit the company, I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they find out I'm bi," Itsuki smirked.
"Such a power move. I wish my coming out was that extravagant." Mary reminisced.
"You think that your parents walking in on us wasn't extravagant?" Yumeko giggled.
"That's how your parents found out? They told me it was when they heard you sing 'I Kissed a Girl' when you were eight, lol." The look of confusion on Ryota's face confused Mary even more.
"You've talked to my parents?"
"Remember that time you got in trouble for making me clean your room?"
"I'm assuming this was when you were a house pet?" Yumeko questioned.
"Nope."
"Mary!"
"He lost the gamble. I didn't make him. That still doesn't answer why my parents told you that."
"I found your pride flag and they told me that you hadn't come out yet so if I'm homophobic they'd end me."
"Aw, that's sweet. I forget that they're so supportive sometimes. They're still so strict."
"Not gonna lie. I wasn't scared of you because you made me a house pet. I was scared of your parents." The fear in Ryota's voice made everyone laugh.
"When's the pizza coming?" Itsuki asked as she got up from the couch and headed for the kitchen.
"We ordered it 20 minutes before you guys came so it should be here. Can you get me and Mary water?" Yumeko asked.
"I don't remember her asking, so no."
"Fuck you Itsuki." Mary groaned.
"Actually, can you get me one, too?" Ryota called.
"Of course, my dearest Ryota Suzui, you may have some water. I will get you some right now. Thank you for using your words and asking."
"Just because I didn't ask you doesn't mean I didn't ask at all."
"Using freaky lesbian communication doesn't count."
"In that case, can you get me two waters instead?" Yumeko asked.
"No. Only because I know you're going to give it to Mary."
Yumeko harrumphed and pouted.
"You act like if you don't give me water, me and Yumeko aren't going to share a water bottle."
"Ew, nasty germs."
Mary kissed Yumeko as a response.
"You're lucky I-" Itsuki leaned over the couch to give them their water, "Nope I'm putting your water back in the refrigerator."
Yumeko grabbed both their waters and opened one while she was still holding onto Mary's kiss.
"I would get mad but that impressive."
"Don't be mad. How are you going to have two crushes, both different genders, one's life you literally own and still be single." Ryota muttered before taking a sip of his water.
Mary and Yumeko both broke away to laugh. The water Yumeko opened almost spilled by the force of their laughter.
"Itsuki, there's no way you haven't asked either one of them out! I even put in the good word for you for both Miroslava and Kaede!" Yumeko set the waters on the table next to their side seat.
"Kaede doesn't really like you, and Miroslava hasn't spoken to me since the beginning of the semester. Also, y'all are so mean to me for no reason!"
Ding Dong!
"It's open!"
"Oh my gosh, Itsuki."
"I'll get it, guys." Ryota walked over to the door. As he opened it, he apologized, "Sorry, my friends are idiots."
"Damn right!" Itsuki shouted from the couch.
"It's all cool! Here's your pizza!" She handed him the two boxes of pizza and breadsticks.
"Thank you!" Ryota exclaimed before closing the door. "If you want pizza you have to get up. Stop being useless lesbians."
"If I'm so useless why can I kick your ass?"Mary jumped from the cocoon but didn't make it far from how tightly it was wrapped.
Itsuki cackled, "Oh my fucking gosh, all the karma came back to you."
Yumeko carefully unwrapped the blankets and pulled Mary out, "Ryota, next time just one useless lesbian."
Itsuki started laughing harder.
"Yumeko! You're supposed to be on my side!" Mary sounded whiney to everyone in the room but herself. As her arm hooked around Yumeko's waist, she whispered something that made the other girl's eye flash red.
"We're trying to eat." Itsuki rolled her eyes. By the time the couple made it off the couch, Ryota and Itsuki had grabbed their blankets from their bags and were indulging in their pepperoni pizza and breadsticks.
"I didn't even say anything," Mary opened the fresh box of cheese pizza and grabbed two slices.
"We'd save a lot more money if you could handle a little spice." Yumeko reminded Mary as she took the last two slices of pepperoni. "You're kinda basic for only liking cheese."
"I think we've proven I can handle more than a little spice." Mary raised an eyebrow at Yumeko. "We both know damn well I can handle spice, Yume."
Yumeko giggled as she pulled a pepperoni off her pizza, "Then bon appetit!" Yumeko's eyes told Mary, "Get your head out of the gutter, or I'll do it for you."
Itsuki and Ryota had known the girls as a couple almost as well as they knew them individually. To the untrained ear, you would never be able to tell when the girls are flirting, but for Itsuki, it was like a second language. Ryota could sometimes understand when the girls weren't just talking, but he was more oblivious.
"Haha, you expect Mary to eat a pepperoni? She almost cried eating the marinara sauce. She's giving you a challenge," Ryota yelled.
"She sure is giving me a challenge!" Mary exclaimed.
"I swear sometimes I'm the only sane person in this family," Itsuki mumbled to herself. Pretending like she didn't hear the flirtatious undertones in their words, Itsuki taunted, "Ooh, I'd love to see Mary lose her shit over pepperoni! Come into the living room!"
Yumeko pulled Mary back into the living room. After they sat down, she held the pepperoni in front of the blonde's mouth. Mary glared at Yumeko. "You must be so proud of yourself."
Mary took a bite of half of the thin pepperoni. Her face had apprehension written all over it. The rest of the group was on the edge of their seats waiting to see her reaction. Then, Mary's eyes shut and, she took a deep breath. After seconds that passed like minutes, she opened her watering eyes and swallowed. Hence, they finally got their reaction. Her eyes widened, and she ran to the kitchen. "Never again. Y'all are so mean to me! How can you eat this?"
The clink of glass along with the loud laughter of Mary's friends and the impatient stutter of Mary's feet rang through the apartment. Suddenly, her panting stopped.
She came back into the room with a glass of strawberry milk and a look that could kill. "Once I finish this milk, I'm kicking all your asses."
"Mary~ just because it wasn't funny to you doesn't mean it wasn't funny. Hey, is the door still unlocked?" Yumeko's innocent smile got wider.
"Ryota-fucking-Suzui!" Mary plopped her glass down on a side table and ran towards Ryota. Thankful for Ryota, Yumeko stopped Mary, but it didn't stop the shorter girl from continuing to charge after him.
If all the laughter Mary had caused Itsuki wasn't enough, she was dying now. "Mary stop, I can't breathe!"
Yumeko stroked Mary's hair and shushed her. After Mary stopped fighting, Yumeko walked her to the door and locked it.
"It wasn't that hard, Mary," Ryota teased.
"Thin ice, Suzui."
"We should watch Frozen." Yumeko offered. She and Mary were finally starting on their pizza.
"Nope, we already finished our pizza. We get to choose." Itsuki got up to throw her's and Ryota's trash away. "What's on Netflix?"
Ryota grabbed the remote and opened Netflix, "I'm going to comedies."
As different titles passed by, Yumeko and Mary called them out. After Itsuki came back she vetoed all of them until they came to Madagascar 2. "All in favor?"
"I!"
Ryota clicked on the movie. Yumeko and Mary made their blanket cocoon again while sharing the ends of a breadstick. Itsuki had brought Ryota and herself a slice of the cheese pizza. Finally, they were all settled.
--
"Moral of the story: Melman deserves the world!" Yumeko cheered.
"Who was Melman?"
"Y'all remember that time we almost sacrificed Ryota? Kinda wish we did it," Mary facepalmed.
"The giraffe, Car Man. I can't believe you didn't remember the best storyline in the entire movie!" Itsuki was exasperated.
"I was too busy focusing on the actual best storyline, the penguins."
"Basic!" Mary threw a pillow at him.
"Mary! If you knock him out he won't be able to play the game!" Yumeko brought Mary back down.
Itsuki mischievously giggled. "It's time! Y'all better have your phones charged and the app downloaded, I'm going over the rules once, and then after that, you're on your own."
Everyone pulled out their phones and opened the app. Itsuki explained how to join the lobby she created.
"Hehe, Itsuki are you the grape?" Yumeko pointed out.
"Yep! Isn't it clever? I'm guessing you're red?"
"Yes, do you like my cat ears?"
"Loser cat, huh?" Mary had just entered the code.
"Hey, I wonder who yellow is with the knife hat? Wait, is that you Ryota?" Itsuki said with a sarcastic surprise.
"Yep, I'm SapphicSaotome. Mary must be brown with the goggles."
"I'm totally Toyota."
"Okay, now that y'all are in the lobby, I need you to direct your attention to my settings." Itsuki went over the number of tasks and what other unfamiliar terms meant. "The objective for a crewmate is to complete all your tasks and find the imposter. The objective of the imposter is to kill everyone and not be caught. Normally, we'd have 10 people with up to 3 imposters, but we don't have enough people for that," Ryota started raising his hand, "I'll answer questions after this game. I just want y'all to get a feel for it before we start counting games. That's also why we're in the same room and not spread out. After this, we'll turn down our volume and spread out!"
Yumeko's knee bounced, "This is so exciting! I can't wait until we play for real!"
If this were three years ago, Yumeko would've meant "exciting" in a more concerning way. She's done her best to get ahold of her unhealthy obsession with gambling, and everyone supported her. Ryota still wouldn't be able to have a normal gamble with her after the intense stress she put him through in high school.
The timer ticked down, and they were greeted by an astronaut shushing them. Mary and Itsuki stayed still and painted their poker faces on. Yumeko's subtle smile remained and almost matched Ryota's determined one. None of them looked up from their screens.
To ensure that there was no cheating they each took a different spot on the couch, even if it was a test round.
When they loaded into the cafeteria, everyone but Grape stood still. She had gone off to the left. After that, LoserCat went straight down. Toyota and SapphicSaotome just stood there. When the yellow astronaut started walking toward him, he bolted to the right. She was left alone in the cafeteria.
LoserCat's first instinct was to get a lay of the land, while SapphicSaotome made sure that nobody could try to analyze her intentions. Toyota explored the right side, while Orange was on the left.
LoserCat first found admin and quickly decided it was a crucial room. She walked to the table and opened the security cameras. Two astronauts were in Electrical together, while another one was in Storage. They were all the same color, so she couldn't tell who was where, but it was useful information nonetheless. She decided to check for herself.
By the time she got to Storage, nobody was there. Perfect. Somebody was just murdered. Right on time, Toyota reported SapphicSaotome's demise. LoserCat frowned at the death of her lover.
"Okay, we don't have to use the chat. Ryota where'd you find Mary's body?" Itsuki asked.
"In the darkroom with the wires. I think it said Electrical?" Ryota explained.
"That's strange. The first place I went to was admin, and I discovered something while I was there. A security camera! All of the astronauts were yellow, so I couldn't tell who was who. I saw two in electrical and one in storage, so it's pretty clear to me that Ryota killed Mary, isn't that right Itsuki?" Yumeko flashed a knowing smile.
"Wait a minute! I didn't kill Mary! If it wasn't you, then it was Itsuki!"
"Do you have any proof, Car Man?" Itsuki questioned.
"Look Yumeko, after you left I started heading to the right. If I was going left, I could've gotten Itsuki instead. I'm guessing you couldn't see if anybody went straight down after you, so that's in the air, but I saw Itsuki come out of electrical!"
"Do you have anything to prove that you're innocence, Itsuki?" Yumeko laughed.
"What if Ryota's lying? He could've gone down the middle after you. If I had skipped Electrical and went straight to Storage, you wouldn't know. I think Ryota went down the middle to Electrical and killed Mary."
"How did Mary get to Electrical before me then? I told you I left after her to the right. If I'm telling the truth, I should've been nowhere near electrical when Mary was."
"It's voting time! Don't be stupid!" Mary blurted. It was an established rule that the person who died was not allowed to participate in the discussion. Mary just couldn't help nudge them in the right direction. Her killer should be revealed.
"Mary, don't worry. I'll avenge you," Yumeko whispered to Mary after she voted.
As the timer ticked down, the anticipation built. LoserCat and Toyota both voted for Grape, while Grape voted for Toyota.
Ryota let out a breath of relief, "You scared me, Yumeko."
A cartoon space background appeared with Grape floating through it. The words "Grape was the Imposter."
The crewmates cheered at their victory, while the imposter rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, good thing this was a test round. Now, it's time to really play. We'll do whoever gets to 5 wins as imposter first. I call the living room!"
"I call our room!" Yumeko bolted to her and Mary's room.
"I call kitchen!" Ryota snickered as he strolled to the kitchen.
"Y'all did not just leave me with the bathroom!" Mary fumed.
"Sorry, not sorry. Should've been quicker." Mary heard Ryota yell from the kitchen.
Mumbling incoherent curses to herself, she closed the door and sat in the bathtub.
Not long after Purple started the game everyone discovered their positions.
Toyota was an average player. He didn't worry about the imposter until he saw a body. Maybe if he completed all his tasks first he would look for the imposter. For now, he was going to head to Weapons. Shooting all the meteors down gave him satisfaction.
His entire life flashed before his eyes as he went to shields to do a task. Someone shot him! Toyota's ghost was stunned. He only came back to his senses when an astronaut walked past his body. The lights had been sabotaged, so he didn't blame her for not seeing him. Just as he was about to follow them, an astronaut came out of a vent and chased after the unsuspecting astronaut. Toyota watched the chase come to an end when they entered Electrical. The chaser electrocuted the innocent crewmate, and the game ended.
"Haha! That's how you play Among Us, bitches!" Mary's shout of victory could be heard even from the bathroom.
Itsuki fumed as everyone returned to the living room, "I bet you watch Corpse. There's no way in hell you learned that much from a test game and vague instructions. Especially that kill."
"Don't hate because I won the first round. I used my resources as Imposter flawlessly. I thought you were supposed to be the expert?" Mary's ego had been blown up ten times its original size, and everyone could read it on her face.
"Good game, Mary. I'm guessing you used to vent thing on me, too," Ryota sighed.
"I did," Mary flipped her right ponytail behind her shoulder.
"I only wish I could've seen what went down!" Yumeko chuckled.
"Me too. Maybe if I get imposter again, I'll show you," Mary winked.
"Back to your spots. Now." Itsuki ordered.
Red had always been a nice color on Yumeko; why should it stop at her Among Us name? She felt the thrum of excitement shake her bones as she ran off to the left. Itsuki had explained that Imposters can fake tasks until an emergency meeting. After that, the taskbar would show how full it was getting. Assuming she could fake any task she wanted until that unlikely emergency meeting, LoserCat took some time to fake some tasks and get her opponents more anxious. LoserCat didn't want to rush her possibly only time as an imposter.
Strolling to Electrical, she passed Toyota. This could be taken as a golden opportunity, but that wouldn't be any fun. She wanted to lure him into a sense of false safety and make his suspicion of her decrease. After standing around in Electrical, she made her way out and found the real opportunity. She passed SapphicSaotome on the way to Storage. In the room, she found Grape doing an innocent task. Snapping Grape's neck, LoserCat quickly reported the murder and started the discussion.
Yumeko ran out of the bedroom and into the living room, "Mary Saotome killed Itsuki. It was kind of a sloppy kill. When I walked out of Electrical and passed you, I walked in to find Itsuki dead."
"Hah, you're one to talk," Mary strode out of the bathroom. "You were so quick to want to avenge me the first game, and now you're framing me?"
"Mary, just admit that you weren't expecting Itsuki's body to be found so quickly. I'd say that it was just bad luck."
"Ryota! There's no way you actually believe her!" Mary threw daggers at him with her eyes.
Ryota was conflicted. Either possibility could've happened. Whoever he choose was a random guess. It was all up to choice.
"Time to vote! You know exactly who it is." Itsuki announced.
The remaining crewmates cast their votes. Toyota and SapphicSaotome voted for LoserCat. While she skipped the vote. As she was ejected into the vast void, the words confirming her guiltiness appeared behind her.
The crewmates voiced their victory.
"I know Yumeko too well enough to know that she'd find a way to turn this into a gamble. If it wasn't something she set up, she would've been more excited about it." Ryota explained.
This seemed to make Yumeko surprised. "I guess I'm going to have to find a different approach," she joked.
Grape promises she's a good player. She's a great crewmate and an even better imposter. She's dumbing down her playing because the others aren't used to playing yet. So instead of checking the cameras, she does her tasks or at least tries to. Reactor has been sabotaged. Everyone seems to meet at the same task. Grape being the smartest player moves to go to the lower reactor task. Just as she moves, LoserCat gets killed. Toyota reports it immediately.
"Aren't you supposed to be the good player? The kill was so messy," Mary laughed.
"Look, I know it looks bad, but it wasn't me! I was trying to be a smart player by going to the lower task. I bet it was you who tried to frame me." Itsuki accused.
"That's pretty believable. You did say you would kill Yumeko next time you were imposter," Ryota thought out loud.
"You guys don't seriously think it's me, right?" Mary was flabbergasted at the pure stupidity of her friends.
"Of course, you would frame me. You love to sabotage, and you said you would kill Yumeko." Itsuki explained.
"It's time to vote!" Yumeko decided that it would be too much to say anything other than the announcement.
Two votes for SapphicSaotome from Toyota and Orange and only one vote for Orange was the verdict. SapphicSaotome's yellow body floated out into space.
"SapphicSaotome was not the Imposter."
Mary seethed at Itsuki saying that she knew it was her. Itsuki just looked a Ryota's grin.
"That's how you play Among Us, bitches," Ryota said calmly but just loud enough to make the surviving crewmates mad. Toyota had won the game.
"This is what happens when you let your grudge blind you! "Yumeko giggled.
sapphicsaotome
SapphicSaotome hated being a crewmate. Unless you knew exactly who the imposter was, you wouldn't be able to make any waves. So she watched the cameras the entire time. Two astronauts went in Reactor, and two astronauts came out of Reactor. She wasn't getting anywhere like this. One was in Electrical, and another in Storage. Taking a guess, she thought Grape and LoserCat were in Reactor. Grape went to Electrical after that. LoserCat was in Storage, but where was Toyota?
If she was going to do anything while someone faked their tasks, she might as well test the waters and see if her predictions were correct. She left Admin and headed to the Cafeteria not bothering to do any tasks on the way. Once she got through past Medbay hallway outside of Upper Engine, she saw Toyota's headless body and reported it.
"I call conspiracy," Mary accused once everyone met back in the living room.
"Your evidence to back it up, please," Yumeko accepted the challenge.
"You two were in Reactor together."
"Is that it?" Itsuki rolled her eyes.
"Yep, that's it, and because you two are conspiring I should get a point."
"That's not how it works, Mar. That also isn't enough evidence." Yumeko laughed.
"You want some real evidence? I haven't seen you or Ryota this entire game." Itsuki chimed.
"Remember how I got accused last time? Y'all we're wrong and Ryota won. If y'all want the crewmates to lose again, I'll take the fall. If you want to win, tell me where you were."
"I was in the Shields hallway," Yumeko said.
"I was in Storage," Itsuki replied.
"Where were you before that?" Mary questioned.
"Storage."
"Electrical."
"It's time to vote! You guys got nowhere." Ryota deadpanned.
"I was in Admin until I tried to find y'all, just to let you know," Mary said before casting her vote.
Everyone voted for each other. SapphicSaotome voted for Grape; Grape voted for LoserCat, and LoserCat voted for SapphicSaotome.
The rule for a second discussion was that you had to do the last round in the living room.
Everyone ran in different directions. SapphicSaotome ran left to hid in Security. She didn't want to be around when the imposter's kill cooldown went down. That's when Reactor got sabotaged. SapphicSaotome accepted defeat as she ran to Reactor. Just as she was waiting for someone to help her with the task, her screen showed that Grape had won.
Itsuki burst into laughter, "That was so clean! Oh my gosh, y'all didn't suspect a thing!"
"Suki got you pretty good," Ryota admitted.
"Suki got you pretty good." Mary rebutted. "I was the only one that didn't die, and I voted her the first time."
"Looks like that wasn't enough, blondie." Itsuki was still laughing over her win. "You had the audacity to underestimate me!"
"That was a good game, everyone!" Yumeko cheered as she made her way back to her room.
--
The games after that were a lot more intense. The gambling girlfriends caught on quickly to any game they played, and Ryota was naturally good at video games. The girls blamed it on him being a man, while he blamed the girls for sharing things through the girlfriends' silent communication.
SapphicSaotome and Grape had taken the lead with four wins. LoserCat had three, and Toyota had two.
Although LoserCat and Toyota weren't very good importers, they were great at playing detective.
It was the final game. SapphicSaotome had stopped Grape from getting her winning kill last time by hitting the emergency button and reporting that she had seen her vent.
Everyone had a goal. Three of them shared the goal to take SapphicSaotome down, and they didn't even know if she was the imposter.
They all did their tasks one after the other. The imposter had other ideas. They noticed Grape in Medbay and decided to strike, then vented to Electrical. LoserCat was doing a task so, thinking quickly on their feet, they locked Electrical and caught LoserCat in a mousetrap.
"No fucking way Ryota Suzui got that good!" Itsuki yelled.
Mary stomped as she came out of the bathroom.
"That was really smart, Ryota!" Yumeko encouraged. "Did you know that I was in Electrical?"
"Nope, everything happened because I was lucky," Ryota confessed.
"That's even more amazing!"
"As long as I don't have to pay for everyone's ice cream, I'm fine."
"Technically, you still do. You're just splitting with Yumeko," Itsuki burst Ryota's bubble.
"But you also have to pay for two sundaes," Mary reminded.
"Can I just bathe in my victory before I'm reminded that I lost?" Ryota asked.
"You get five minutes. I want something sweet."
"Looks so good, yeah. Looks so sweet. Looking good enough to eat." Yumeko sang.
"Yume, that song isn't about ice cream." Mary covered Yumeko's mouth with her hand.
"I know."
"You're gay."
"They do say 'he' don't they," Yumeko pouted.
"It's a pretty good song. As the winner of the last round, I playing that as my victory song." Ryota grabbed the remote to open Youtube.
"Oh my gosh. Just for that, your time is up." Mary complained.
"After this ad plays!"
As the song started Ryota took everyone's order, a chocolate ice cream for himself and a mint chocolate chip for Yumeko. Mary got a strawberry cheesecake sundae, and Itsuki got peanut butter cup. Yumeko sent the order off.
After that, they belted the lyrics of "Ice Cream." This leads them down a Blackpink rabbit hole. The group bonded over their love of the K-pop group. At past Family Game Nights, they learned the dances. Their favorite to perform was "As If It's Your Last."
"Wait, skip D4," Yumeko asked.
"Agreed, we'll do it after," Itsuki suggested.
Everyone got in the starting line for the dance. Itsuki at the front of the line as Lisa. Once the song picked up, Mary took center as Jennie. Yumeko was next playing as Jisoo, and last was Ryota as Rosé.
Even if Lisa was the main dancer, everyone had a silent agreement that Ryota was the best dancer out of everyone. Itsuki had too much confidence, Yumeko was too bouncy, Mary wasn't that bad either, but Ryota had just enough assurance in his abilities that made him put the right amount of energy into each move.
Song after song, they dance and sang their hearts out. They were almost done with Blackpink's title tracks when the ice cream arrived.
Ryota volunteered himself to get it. The girls had brought spoons and water from the kitchen as Ryota placed the bag down.
They sorted through the ice creams and found their spots on the couch.
"Itsuki, I think you are making Lisa very proud." Yumeko opened took the top off the ice cream to find that it wasn't just a scoop of ice cream. It was a mint cookies 'n cream sundae.
"Ryota! Thank you, but I don't like that you're the only one without a sundae."
"I got a sundae too, but I didn't order one," Ryota showed the group his s'mores sundae.
"Let's just say we felt bad that half of us were getting sundaes and you had to pay for them," Mary started.
"This was a special circumstance only because Ryota had a crazy final win, and y'all have a lot of what Yumeko discovered to thank. I also got a bonus from my dad this month so it was no problem." Itsuki finished.
"Wow, thank you!" Yumeko gleamed.
"Yeah, thank you!" Ryota added.
"It's nothing. You should be thanking Mary for letting me. She was pretty mad she lost." Itsuki snickered.
"Even so, we get to choose our last movie." Mary rolled her eyes.
"Ah, that's right," Itsuki grabbed the remote. After scrolling for a while, she found the perfect movie. "Oh my gosh, Kangaroo Jack!"
"No way!" Mary looked at the screen to find one of her favorite childhood movies.
"What's that?" Ryota asked.
"It's official. I can't believe you haven't watched it!"
"It was such a hilarious movie," Itsuki clicked on the movie, and everyone strapped in.
--
"Damn, all that trouble for a picture with a kangaroo you thought was dead in the first place? Couldn't be us."
Everyone had finished their ice cream during the movie and turned off the lights. Ryota reclined the seat to get ready to sleep. Yumeko and Mary did the same.
"Oh please, Suki, your rich ass family would definitely cause us trouble with a kangaroo." Mary was half asleep on Yumeko's shoulder.
"We should plan a family trip out of the country." Yumeko now had the remote and turned on Ouran High School Host Club.
"Hyakkao barely lets us go home on weekends. You think they would let us fly out of the country?" Ryota gave a half-hearted laugh only because of how tired he was.
"Once we all graduate, and I take over the company. We'll go to Europe or something," Itsuki yawned into her pink blanket.
"Italy?"
"I'm fine with Italy." Mary's words slurred.
After everyone fell asleep, Yumeko whispered, "Hehe, goodnight everyone!"
