Thursday night, October 7th. Elle walked out of a dorm room, not her dorm room, a big smile on her face as she pulled on her jacket. Tonight, things had gone almost exactly how she planned. Well, she would have liked to take things further but Logan was still apprehensive. She could change that soon enough. She quickly pulled out her cell phone and texted her sister.
"Hey, you up for a sleepover before your big day? -E"
She headed back to her dorm to pack a bag, knowing that Rory would say yes. She couldn't wait to tell her about what had happened, maybe not the full truth but she would tell her some of it. Her phone rang as a text popped up on her phone. "Absolutely! -R"
She grabbed nail polish, magazines, face masks, and anything else she thought they might need tonight before she hurried to her car and headed to Hartford. Tomorrow was Rory's birthday, her 18th, and both sets of grandparents were throwing a big party for her the next day. She knew Rory was excited about her birthday but not so much for the party they would have to attend. After all, it was going to be a society function and those were always a bore.
Before she knew it, Elle was pulling up to the gate and putting in the code. She parked in the driveway and grabbed her bag before walking inside. She didn't bother knocking as they were sure to be expecting her by now. Before she could even make it through the doorway, her mother had her in a tight hug.
"Hi mom," she laughed.
"Elle! Rory you're long lost sister is here! Someone responded to the lost posters!"
"Mom!" Elle said.
"Oh, I'm just teasing kiddo, how's college? How are your classes? Meet any cute guys?" Lorelai fired at her.
"Good, Good, and definitely. But you already know this, I've talked to you every other day since I've been gone," Elle reminded her.
"It's not enough," Lorelai said, walking into the kitchen with her daughter in tow.
"Hey Elle," Rory said, running down the stairs and giving her sister a hug.
"Ror! How was your last day as a 17-year-old?" Elle asked her.
"Long," she groaned.
"Tristan?" Elle asked knowingly.
"Yep," she said.
"We'll talk later," Elle laughed. "Let's get snacks now!"
"Yes!" she said, going to the cabinet. They took out red vines and m&ms, made popcorn and hot pockets. Basically, anything they could find with carbs. After bidding their mother goodbye and running up the stairs they put in a movie, The Breakfast Club one of their favorites.
"Ok so spill," Elle said as soon as they sat down on Rory's bed.
"Ugh, it was horrible," Rory said.
"What happened?"
"He was leaning against my locker when I got to school and then he started going on and on about how I would be of legal age tomorrow," she said making Elle laugh. "Oh, and grandma invited him to the party tomorrow, and he can't wait."
"Which grandma?"
"Gilmore of course!"
"That woman," Elle said, rolling her eyes.
"Tell me about it," Rory said, grabbing a red vine.
"So, I also have a little story. Something that happened just before I texted you," Elle said.
"Oh yeah? What is it?"
"Well, we all went out to the pub tonight and it was really fun, but I probably had a little too much to drink," Elle admitted. "Anyway, eventually we all made our way back to Logan's dorm. It was just me, him, and Colin."
"Yeah?" Rory asked, now skeptical.
"Mhm, so Colin left about an hour later and Logan kept checking his phone for some reason. He had just seen his dad so maybe he was trying to call his sister. But then… ok, this is so exciting, you'll never guess what happened," Elle said.
"Tell me," Rory urged her, struggling to keep a small smile on her face. At this point, she was honestly afraid of what Elle would say next. First the internship and now Logan? Why?
"He kissed me!"
Of course, he did. I'm so stupid. God, I'm so stupid. Why did I think I was any different? Why did I think I meant anything? Especially to him. Why did he kiss me in the first place? Why the hell did he comfort me after that fucking internship? I hate this. But I don't hate him, nope. I like him and I hate that. Why the fuck did he have to kiss me? Now I just know what I can't have. I know what it feels like to have him… to be with him. But I can't have it. He doesn't want it. He wants my sister. Just like his father's company, maybe they have more in common than he thought.
She hated this. But for all her misgiving all she could get out was a small, "Oh."
"It was amazing!"
"Yeah?" Rory choked out.
"Yeah, it was. It was like fireworks! He was so sweet and so gentle. But it was just… amazing!"
"Sounds like it," Rory said, biting her lip.
"And then we sat on his couch for over an hour, and just talked. He said something about you once or twice, and then about his dad," she said.
"Yeah? What did he say?"
"Oh, um something about a mistake and then correcting things. I honestly don't know, I was too busy looking at him," Elle laughed. He knew exactly what Logan said. Kissing her had been a mistake. He likes Rory. He needed to correct this. It was sickening.
"Oh," Rory said. It was a mistake? Of course, it was a mistake he likes Elle! I'm not Elle and he kissed me so that was a mistake.
"Yeah, we kissed again before I left and we'll see where it goes. I'm so excited!"
"It's exciting," Rory laughed, humorlessly.
"Are you ok?" Elle asked. "You seem off."
"Yeah, I'm fine, just nervous for tomorrow," Rory said.
"Yeah, I can imagine. I was nervous before my 18th birthday. Especially with the grandmothers obsessing over every little thing. Oh, who's your date for tonight?" Elle asked.
Oh crap. "Um actually its Logan," Rory said. "But I'm sure that's uncomfortable for you so I can ask Finn."
"Really? That would great thank you," Elle said.
"No problem," Rory sighed.
"Finn is kind of cute," Elle hinted.
"Um, yeah. Not really my type though," Rory said, quashing that before it continued.
"He can be a little wild," Elle agreed. "What about Tristan? And I'm serious."
"I don't like Tristan," Rory said. "I like… I liked someone else. And now I don't know. But I know I don't like Tristan. That is definitely not an option."
"Fine," Elle said, raising her hands in defeat.
"Let's watch the movie," Rory said, turning to focus on the Tv.
"Sure," Elle said.
What the hell? Rory woke up around 4 a.m. for the second time that morning to the sound of her phone ringing. Her mother had just left her room after their birthday tradition and she had been eager to go back to sleep. Upon groping for her phone, she found it and checked the caller ID.
Logan
She had never hit decline on a call faster than she did in that moment. She bit her lip and tossed her phone back on the nightstand and flopped back down on the bed. Why the hell is he calling me? It's my birthday! He's ruined enough for me already. He kissed my sister! He called… whatever we had a mistake! Why the fuck is he calling me on my birthday? I'm not a toy.
As a tear slipped down her cheek, she turned her head and buried her face in her pillow. It was so unfair. She spent a month and a half with Logan, joking, laughing, teasing, and flirting. And then he kissed her. It was all so unfair. He complained about Elle and Juliet constantly and now he was seeing Elle so I guess that was a bunch of bull shit.
It's all bull shit actually. I thought he liked me. I thought he was looking past the virgin thing and the lack of blonde hair and big boobs thing. I was stupid to think anyone could do that, especially Logan. He's used to a certain type. I'm not that type. Elle is, of course, she is. She has blonde hair and the big boobs and the emerald eyes. It's not like this is new. Everyone loves Elle, even our parents like her better. They love both of us but they like her better and apparently so does Logan.
I thought I… I thought I found someone. I'm so stupid. I can't believe I thought anything was going to happen. God, he said we would talk! Instead, he waited for me to go home so he could make out with my sister! And after everything that happened with the internship, he knew how upset I was about that. Then he goes and does this!
Her phone buzzed with a voicemail alert. She lifted her head and grabbed her phone.
"Hey, Ace! Happy birthday! I thought you'd be awake, I know you just talked with your mom. I wanted to talk to you about something. I talked to Elle earlier and I realized something, I just need to talk to you. But I'll see you tonight, save me a dance. And you're going to love your birthday present. Bye Ace."
She hit end and laid back down. It was only a matter of second before the started crying harder and her body was wracked with silent sobs. It's my birthday… and I'll cry if I want to.
She zipped up her dress and ran her hands over it. It was beautiful, she looked beautiful. But she felt sick and tired. Logan had called her three times today and sent her at least 20 texts. She had two voicemails from him, one from Colin's phone and one from Finn's. She couldn't bring herself to listen to the ones from his phone or answer any of his texts. She was too angry at him. She was too disappointed about the situation.
Her dress was pretty though, she could focus on that. It was a light navy-blue color that fell to the floor. The neckline was plunging and she wore a short gold necklace. Her shoes were pumps of a similar blue shade and her hair was in curly waves. She headed for the door and into the hall where Emily was waiting for her.
"Oh, Rory you look lovely," Emily said. "Are you sure about the dress though?"
"Yes grandma," Rory said, trying not to snap at her.
"Well if you're sure, let's go greet your guests," Emily said.
My guests?! Rory rolled her eyes as she followed Emily down the stairs. They both walked down the stairs and Rory took in the room full of her grandparent's friends. She recognized some people. She saw Colin and Steph standing together and Paris whispering to Madeline and Louise. But overall the majority of the room were strangers. Her mom and dad met her at the bottom of the stairs as both her grandfathers introduced her.
Honestly, the whole thing went by in a blur. She met so many couples and their sons, her head was swimming with names. This whole thing was ridiculous. She felt like a show horse. It's like she was being sold off to the highest bidder. Towards the end of the 'rounds', she was being introduced to the Dugreys and their son Tristan out on the patio. Soon their parents and grandmothers, respectively, left them to talk. She was relieved as this was the first time all night she had gotten away from Emily and Francine. But also annoyed as she was stuck with Tristan.
"So, Mary," he started, making her roll her eyes. "Ever think about losing that name?"
"I have," she said, with a fake smile.
"Ever think about letting me do the honors?"
"Over my dead body," she laughed.
"Well that's harsh," he said.
"Good," she said.
"You wouldn't reconsider?" Tristan asked, taking a step closer.
"No," she bit out, backing up. Tristan only followed her as she moved further away. "Ok, you need to stop that."
"Stop what?" he asked, obliviously.
"That," she said, gesturing to him as he took another step closer. She was running out of room to back away from him.
"I like you, Mary," he said.
"Good for you," she said.
"I know you like me," he said.
"No, I don't," she denied vehemently, almost disgusted.
"Come on, admit it, Mary," he said.
"Tristan stop it," she said. He was scaring her and she couldn't back away anymore without hitting the wall.
"Why should I?" he asked.
"Because I'm uncomfortable with this," she said.
"Why? I know you're into me," he said.
"No, I'm not," she said. "Get away from me."
"Come on Mary," he started before he interrupted by a deep, rather pissed off voice.
"Ace, you ok?" Logan walked into the room, took one look at the scene in front of him and had to refrain from beating Tristan to a pulp. Again, she was relieved and annoyed at the same time.
"Not really," she honestly.
"Come here," Logan said, taking her hand and pulling her away from Tristan, and closer to himself. She allowed him to save her and hold her for a moment. She allowed herself to feel safe with him. He got her away from Tristan so she felt safe with him. She always felt safe with him, but now he was saving. Logan kept his arm around her and kept her close. She tentatively laid her head on his chest and sighed.
God, she looks gorgeous, Logan thought. This dress is amazing, it makes her eyes pop and I love the neck line. The material was silky and just as soft as her skin as one of his hands was on the dress and the other was on her exposed back. He was having a hard time differentiating between the two. He rubbed her back and kissed the top of her head. He didn't want Tristan anywhere near her. In fact, he didn't want anyone else looking at her or touching her. They still needed to talk about the kiss, about what they were. And he needed to come clean about Elle. He didn't want to start this with secrets like that. He wanted her to trust him, he needed her to trust him.
"How's it going Dugrey?" Logan asked as he glared at him.
"Just fine Huntzberger," Tristan said.
"Good, keep your hands to yourself," Logan said calmly.
"Sure thing," he said.
"Glad you understand," Logan said.
"So, I take it you're not a Mary anymore," Tristan said, looking at Rory.
"Shut the hell up," Logan said angrily.
"Well, she's with a Huntzberger. I doubt you aren't screwing her. Or is he who you were talking about when you said you were thinking about losing the Mary title? You're going to give it up to Huntzberger?"
"What part of shut the hell up do you not understand?" Logan bit out.
"Oh, this is adorable, your boyfriend is defending your honor," Tristan mocked.
"He's not my boyfriend," Rory snapped, ripping herself away from Logan and turning to face Tristan. "He's not screwing me. He's not taking my virginity. I don't mean anything to him. You're just a jack ass and Logan is a gentleman. So, fuck off Tristan." With that she stormed back inside the house, leaving the two men watching after her. For very different reasons.
Tristan stayed outside, still a little shocked, as Logan took off after her. She doesn't mean anything to me? What the hell? He rushed up the stairs and toward her room. He tried the door but found that it was locked. He banged his fist on the wood. "Rory!"
He got no answer so he tried again. "Ace! Open the door." He sighed and leaned his head against the door. "Rory please open the door!" he begged.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Rory shouted as soon as she opened the door.
"Wrong with me?! You're the one who won't answer any of my phone calls or my text messages, hell you barely even looked at me!" he yelled back, coming into the room ad closing the door behind him.
"So, what? Why do you care?!" she asked incredulously.
"I care because I miss you! Damn it, it's only been 24 hours since I talk to you, I haven't seen you in a week and I miss you! Now, what the hell did I do wrong?!"
"Nothing. You didn't do anything wrong!" she yelled desperately.
"Clearly I did something!"
"Why can't you just accept the fact that I stopped talking to you?!"
"Because that's not like you Rory! Why did you stop talking to me? What did I do, I can't fix it if you don't tell me!"
"You can't fix it, Logan! What's done is done and you can't fix it."
"What did I do?!" he asked again.
"You kissed me!" she sighed, starting to pace. "You kissed me and I thought it meant something, I just completely misread things and I was shocked ok?"
"Shocked about what? What did you misread?"
"This! Us! I misread every hug and every dance and every time you looked at me with that damn smile, not to mention that fucking kiss!"
"Rory!" he said, grabbing both of her arms and forcing her to look at him.
"I thought… I thought you liked me ok? I thought you liked me and I was wrong and I'm sorry. That's it!"
"You were not wrong," he started, looking her in the eye.
"Yes, I was Logan. Don't placate me or try to let me down easy. Elle already dumped the cold water on me, I've sobered up, I'm back to reality so don't treat me like a toddler!" she yelled, ripping herself out of his grasp.
"What the hell does that mean?" he shouted, exasperated.
"It doesn't matter anymore! You don't have to lie to me!"
"I'm not lying! Why the hell would I lie about that? I like you, Rory, I really like you!"
"Stop!" she screamed desperately, on the verge of tears.
"Rory," he said softly, surprising her. "You got to talk to me, what happened? I don't know what I did to make you so angry at me. I want to fix it but I don't know how."
"I'm an idiot. I'm embarrassed and humiliated. I hate that I got my hopes up or that I thought I might just be different. You honestly didn't do anything, I just needed somebody to blame this on. You have every right to be with who you want, it's not your fault you don't want me. I understand ok?" she said, just as calm as he had been.
"Good, I'm glad you do because I'm still confused."
"You… you're off the hook, that's all I mean. You don't have to explain yourself, we should go back downstairs though, Elle is probably looking for you and I should find my grandparents."
"No, we are not leaving this room until you tell me what I did. I did something, what was it?"
"Fine," she sighed, sitting on the edge of her bed. "I was upset because… because Elle told me about what happened with you two. And it hurt because I thought we had something. I was wrong and I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions about anything. I'm sorry I shut you out, I was just upset and I didn't feel like confronting anything."
"What did she say happened?" he asked, confused. He took a seat next to her when she didn't answer, he picked up her hand from her lap, laced their fingers together and shifted closer to her.
"She told me you… that you kissed. And she told me you were both pretty serious about it, that it wasn't just a one-time thing," she said, tearing up again. "She was really happy," she choked out, trying to smile as tears fell down her cheeks. "I'm happy for you I swear, I was just shocked that's all. But I'm happy, I promise."
"No, you're not," he said, using his thumb to wipe away her tears.
"Logan, swear I am," she said, pushing his hand away and drying her face with the back of her hand.
"No. You are not happy. Happy people don't cry like this."
"Ok, then I'll stop crying and I'll be happy," she said.
"Look Elle and I kissed-,"
"Logan,"
"Rory. Elle and I kissed. And then I told her that first of all, it meant nothing. And that second of all I really liked you, and I hoped she would be ok if I asked you out."
"Logan that's sweet but you don't have to-,"
"I'm not!" he said, standing up as he was getting frustrated with her.
"Logan, I know the score," she sighed.
"The score?" he asked.
"Yes, the score, the way things work," she shrugged.
"And how do things work?" he asked.
"Well," she started. "Elle has always been better at things I guess. Smarter, funnier, prettier, you know the works. And usually, when we both like a guy or we both want an internship, for example, she gets it. She's just better. So, if you're being presented with the option of me or her, then I know you'll choose her. It doesn't say anything about you other than that you are a good judge of character."
"Rory," he started slowly, only to be cut off.
"I spend a lot of time in her shadow and I don't like it. So, don't placate me, don't make me stay in her shadow. Go downstairs. Kiss her. Dance with her. And don't ever bring this up again. Because I don't like talking about it, I barely like to admit it to myself. It's the truth and I can deal with it, but… I hate it."
Instead of answering like she expected him to, he pulled her forcefully up out of her seat and against his chest. He crashed his lips into hers and it took her a total of about 2 seconds to respond and kiss him back. He licked her lips and plunged his tongue into her mouth. Their teeth and tongues clashed in the passionate kiss for minutes on end and neither one dared to pull away. He pulled her closer and she went willingly. He surprised her by backing her towards the bed and laying her down, positioning himself on top of her. He kept his hands on her hips and hers held onto his arms, then traveled down to his taught, broad back where she laid them flat.
Every coherent thought she had left as soon as his lips touched hers and before either of them knew it almost 10 minutes had gone by in a hazy, lust-filled daze. Logan knew they were going a bit too fast, after all she was a virgin and he wasn't going to push her to do anything she wasn't comfortable with. That had been something important to him in his pursuance of her, knowing that if he got a chance with her then he wouldn't screw it up by making her feel pressured to have sex. He slowly separated his lips from hers and rested his forehead against hers. Neither knew what to say as they stared at each other, their heavy breathing the only thing to be heard.
"Why did you…?" she trailed off, her eyes traveling down to his lips.
"I wanted to. I wanted to damn it," he chuckled.
"But you-,"
"No, no I don't. Look I'm not lying to you or placating you, I do not like Elle." He moved both his hands up to cradle her face, running one through her hair. "I like you and I have since the day I met you. Since the day I caught you in my arms and I didn't want to let go."
"Shut up," she said.
"Rory, I mean it," he said.
"I know, now shut up," she said, pressing her lips against his and allowing him entrance yet again when he responded by biting her bottom lip.
"Ace," he mumbled against her lips in between kisses. She swallowed his words with her lips, not wanting anything to break the moment. She swept his mouth with her tongue, eliciting a soft groan from him. His one hand stayed in her hair and the other trailed down her body and rested on her mid-drift, rubbing light circles with his thumb. In a moment of weakness, he reluctantly broke the kiss and moved his lips down to her neck where he began to mark her perfect skin. He bit down lightly before soothing the now red spot with his tongue and sucking softly. Her breathing got heavier as she closed her eyes and a moan escaped her lips.
This man was not only intoxicating and absolutely gorgeous, but he was currently laying on top of her, giving his full attention to her pleasure. She loved how he felt pressed up against her and even though she could tell he was trying not to put his full weight on her, she wanted him to. She pulled him down all the way, causing him to crush her into the mattress as he continued his oral assault on her neck. Rory ran her hands through his hair before returning them to his back and sliding them up his shirt. The feel of her hands on his back was the reality check he needed. He pulled his lips away from her neck and looked down at her.
Her face was flushed, her eyes closed, lips red, hair mussed up. She looked as though she had been thoroughly ravished, which she had been. He smiled and allowed himself one more, light kiss on her lips before rolling over on the bed and holding her tightly on top of him.
Tonight had been quite the whirlwind of emotion; excitement, confusion, anger, sadness, sympathy, and of course hope and elation when he finally got to kissed her, it took him almost two months but he did it, he kissed her. Now he just had to convince this stunning woman on top of him that she wasn't less than Elle. He knew the loss of the internship to her own sister hit her hard, harder than she let even him see and that was saying something. He hated watching her go through that, no matter how happy he was for Elle, he was also kind of pissed at her and he was falling for Rory so seeing her so down and depressed like that wasn't exactly something he was jumping to see again.
He looked down at her where she had rested her head on his chest and he kissed her hair lightly. She sighed before lifting her head up to look at him. "Do you believe me?"
"What?" she asked.
"That kissing Elle didn't mean anything. And it sure as hell didn't make me feel like I did for the last 20 minutes," he said. "Or even how I felt the first time I kissed you."
"I believe you. I don't understand it but, I believe you. I trust you," she said.
"Talk to me Ace, what was all that?" he said.
"No, forget it. It's all so self-deprecating, I hate it," she said.
"I am not just going to forget it, Rory," he said, tightening his hold on her. "Tell me about it. Why do you think you're lesser than Elle?"
"I- I just am. I don't know, I think it was around 14 when I started high school and everyone compared me to her. But, it was always comparing things she did that I didn't do as well or even at all," she said.
"But Rory you're smart, you're gorgeous, and I might be a little biased but, you're adorable," he said, smirking at the end.
"You're right," she said. "You're biased."
"Ace," he whined.
"Logan," she said.
"I shouldn't have to tell you this Rory. You're amazing and I'm friends with your sister but, she's not half the person you are," he said.
"That's not true," she said.
"Yes, it is. And… don't tell her I said this but, she didn't deserve that internship. You did," he said.
"It's not just the internship," she started.
"It has a lot to do with it though. You were upset about that," he said.
"Yeah but…"
"No 'buts', that hurt you," he said.
"Fine, yeah it did. But-," she said, nodding her head.
"No 'buts'," he said again.
"However," she emphasized, causing him to roll his eyes. "This is a long ongoing thing. Yes, the internship hit where it hurt but, it didn't start this."
"Well I don't quite understand it but I hope you know that now I have to do whatever I can to make you see that you're wrong," he said, rubbing her back.
"That's fine with me," she said, a small smile coming over her features. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Why did you kiss Elle? If it didn't mean anything, why did you do it?" she asked.
"Honestly," he started. "I was drunk. I was upset because I had talked to my father and I couldn't get you on your cell. So, I got drunk. One thing led to another and she just kissed me. I sobered right up, pushed her off and ended it then and there. We talked for a while and I even asked her how she would feel if I asked you out. If I asked you to…"
"To what?"
"To be my girlfriend," he admitted sheepishly. She couldn't help but grin, at the question, but also at how cute he was when he was too shy to ask her something. It didn't happen often so when it did, she loved it.
"And what did she say?" she asked.
"I'm more concerned with you what you'll say," he said making her laugh.
"Just tell me what she said," Rory urged him.
"She tried to talk me out of it, told me you were a virgin," he said. Rory blushed and tried to hide her face in his chest, which he found incredibly cute. "Which doesn't matter, by the way." He kissed her behind her ear and on her head. "Then she tried to kiss me again, which I didn't let happen. And that was pretty much it, I left right after that."
"Ok," she said, nuzzling his neck. Logan was absolutely loving this. He had never been so attracted to someone but this comfortable them, at the same time. Laying here with Rory on top of him, her head tucked safely under his, was the happiest he had been in a long time. Then again, he always felt happiest when he was with Rory.
"So…?" he asked.
"So… what?" she teased, knowing what he was after.
"So… do you have an answer for me?"
"Hm, I don't know. What's in it for me?"
"Coffee," he joked.
"Deal," she laughed.
"That's all it takes?" he asked.
"That's all it takes," she said. "Well, that and I kind of like you."
"That's good, I kind of like you too," he said.
"You're sure about this?" she asked seriously.
"Am I sure that I want you to be my girlfriend? Yes. I have never surer about anything Rory."
"So, you're my boyfriend?" she asked and he felt her grinning against him.
"If that's ok with you," he said.
"It's more than ok," she said, lifting her head again to kiss him. "But are sure you're ok with the whole virgin thing? I know you're not used to waiting and I don't know when I'll be ready for that. I know I will be eventually I just don't know when."
"I'm definitely ok with it, Rory. I'm not going to push you. Take your time, and when you're ready, and I mean 100% sure, then we'll cross that bridge. Don't worry about that right now ok."
"You promise?"
"I promise," he said, kissing her forehead.
"Well I'm not ready for sex, but we can, you know, do… other stuff," she suggestively.
"Other stuff?" he asked with a smirk, kissing her neck.
"Mhm," she said, her eyes fluttering closed. "Foreplay stuff," she whispered huskily to him.
He groaned, simply at her words and trailed his lips up her neck, to her lips. She squealed as he flipped them over, once again leaving him hovering above her. Their legs were entwined and their bodies couldn't possibly be any closer. She was his girlfriend, he was her boyfriend. Things quite literally couldn't get any better right now. He was surprised that committing to her like this didn't scare him at all. He was actually excited about what was to come. Maybe it was the months he had to get acclimated to the idea or maybe it was that everything with Rory was so natural. He didn't need to overthink anything with her, it just was. And right now, he couldn't keep his hands off her. It was like he lost control over his actions and his body when he was kissing her. He wasn't complaining though, he loved this.
Rory slid her hands up his shirt and this time he didn't break the kiss, he let her continue. He let her explore his body as she pleased, to familiarize herself with him. She moved her lips off his and placed open mouth kisses on his neck. She unbuttoned the top few buttons on his shirt and continued kissing his chest. Meanwhile, Logan's hands were in her hair, encouraging her to keep going. He captured her lips in his yet again and kissed her fiercely. He bit down on her lip, something he had been watching her do for months, now it was his turn. She moaned into his mouth and ground her hips into his.
She had never really done anything like this before. Dean was gentle and their relationship was too innocent to make it this far. With Jess, it was always passionate but to be honest she didn't trust him to go this far and still be able to stop at some point. But having Logan above her like this, completely in control, kissing the life out of her, it was exhilarating and intoxicating. She could already tell he preferred to be in control, but he probably wouldn't be opposed to her taking the reigns every once in a while. She liked him like this though, actually, she loved him like this. He was incredibly hot when he was in charge when he demanded dominance like he was.
Their kisses were rough and passionate like they couldn't get enough of each other. Logan knew he would have to draw the line somewhere though. After all, he was a red-blooded male and he could only go so far before he wouldn't be able to help himself. It also didn't help that Rory was unbelievably sexy. He knew there would be an opportunity to take things even further than this, but upstairs in her grandparent's house during her 18th birthday party was neither the time nor the place. He broke the kiss and rested his forehead on hers. Her breathing was just as heavy as his and her eyes were still closed. He smiled and placed a soft kiss on her nose, eliciting a sweet smile on her lips. Her eyes opened and she looked up at him.
"You're really good at that," she giggled.
"I sure hope so," he said.
"But why did you stop?" she whined.
"We have to go downstairs." He kissed her again.
"Why? I like it up here." She kissed him again.
"It's your party, they'll be looking for you," he said.
"Fine, but only if you stay with me, I can't stand another DAR interrogation," she said.
"That I can do," he laughed, placing an opened mouth kiss on her lips.
"Mm, are you sure we have too?" she pouted.
"Unfortunately," he said.
"But I want to celebrate my birthday up here," she said, kissing him again and pulling at his bottom lip. "Under you," she whispered.
"You are not making this easy," he groaned, leaning in for another kiss. He couldn't stop kissing her, he was addicted to the taste of her. She was like a drug and this was the kind of addiction he never wanted to get over.
"That's the point," she laughed.
"Come on missy, let's go," he said, getting up and pulling her with him. They went about fixing their clothes and in Rory's case, the damage Logan had done to her hair. She stood at the mirror, fixing her lipstick and upon looking over herself once more, she found quite a noticeable mark on her neck.
"Logan!" she chastised him.
"What?" he asked.
"What the hell?" she asked, pointing to her neck. He just laughed and came up behind her, wrapping her in his arms. He kissed the spot in question before sweeping her hair in front of it, concealing it easily.
"Better?" he asked, meeting her eyes in the mirror.
"Better," she said, turning her head to kiss him.
"Let's go," he said, taking her hand and leading her to the door. "You go down first and I'll follow you in a few minutes. I don't want people to think we were up here messing around."
"But we were," she said, smirking.
"Yes, but Emily Gilmore doesn't need to know that," he laughed.
"Good point," she said, kissing him one last time before scurrying down the hallway and to the stairs. Logan fixed his tie and ran his hand through his hair, making sure to give her ample time to get down the stairs and even into another room before following her.
Logan headed down the stairs and looked around the room. Sure, enough Rory was indeed trapped in a group of DAR women. He had to suppress his laughter as she turned to him and scratched her nose with her middle finger. He walked over to the group and put his hand in the small of Rory's back.
"Good evening ladies," he said with a charming smile.
"Hello Logan," they greeted him.
"Hi," Rory said, looking up at him and not able to keep the smile off her face.
"You mind if I steal Rory here for a second, she promised me a dance," he said.
"Of course," they all chorused.
"I could kiss you I'm so happy," she teased him.
"I wouldn't object," he said, leading her into the ballroom. He wrapped one arm around her waist and took one of her hands in his and held it to his chest. She kissed him lightly and discretely on the lips. Before she pulled away he stole another one and she rested her head on his chest next to their hands.
She sighed and closed her eyes as they swayed together on the dance floor. She readjusted her head to nuzzle his neck and placed light kisses there. "You smell good," she said.
"Do I?" he laughed.
"Mhm," she murmured against him.
"Good to know," he said, kissing the top of her head.
They danced for quite some time, enjoying the comfortable silence between them. One question still lingered on both their minds. Elle hadn't told Rory the truth of what happened and they both wanted to know why. They also didn't know how to tell her they were dating. Logan couldn't stop smiling over that. She was his girlfriend and it was almost too good to be true.
"How are we going to tell her?" Rory asked, looking at him.
"I don't know Ace," he sighed.
"She lied to me," she said.
"I know," he said.
"I don't want to hurt her, but she hurt me," she said.
"I know baby," he said, rubbing her back.
"It's worth it if you can call me that," she laughed.
"I'm glad," he said. "Do you want to tell her together?"
"I don't know," she said. "I think I should tell her but I don't know how."
"Well, what if I was just there. I don't have to say anything unless you want me to, but I can be there. And maybe we at least owe it to her as her sister and as her friend for both of us to tell her," he said.
"Maybe. I don't want her to hate me," she said.
"Oh Ace, she isn't going to hate you," he said, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"She'll be mad at me," she said.
"Probably. But she's your sister, she won't hate you," he said. "Nobody could hate you Ace, it's like hating Bambi."
"Bambi?" she laughed against him.
"Yes. Bambi," he said. "You're too cute to hate."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," he said bringing his lips down to hers. "Have I told you how much I love this dress?" he mumbled against her lips.
"Hm, I don't think so," she said.
"Well I absolutely love this dress on you," he said. "But you know where it would look even better?"
"Where?" she asked, biting her lip.
"My bedroom floor," he whispered huskily in her ear, kissing her neck. She moaned softly and her eyes fluttered closed again. She loved his voice and she loved the feeling of his lips on her skin. And she would love to be in his room with him with this dress on the floor. She couldn't wait for that.
"And why would it be on your floor?" she asked him.
"So that you're naked in my bed," he said, smirking as she moaned again.
"And where would you be?" she asked.
"Oh, I don't know, I was thinking on top of you," he said.
"Mm that sounds good," she said.
"Yeah? How good?" he asked her.
"So good I think we should get out of here and go back to New Haven. You do have an empty dorm there don't you?" she asked coyly.
"Don't tempt me Ace," he groaned.
"I would never," she said, feigning innocence.
"Mhm, sure," he laughed.
"Come on Huntzberger, let's go," she said.
"Won't they miss you here?" he asked pointedly.
"Are you trying to talk me out of making out with you, naked in your empty dorm?" she asked incredulously.
"You're right, what the hell am I thinking?" he said.
"I'll say goodbye to the family, you get our coats?" she said.
"I'll meet you at the door," he said. With one last kiss, he let her slip out of his embrace and walk away. So, he didn't quite make it two months. Oh well, he thought with a huge grin on his face as he kept his eyes on her.
