Chapter Five: Scully Finds Her Way To Coruscant
Dana Scully finished up her talk with Skinner, and headed back downstairs to the office. " Mulder, I'm back. Skinner agrees with you. This entire case makes no sense." Realizing that Mulder wasn't at his desk, she decided to check the back room." Mulder? Hello? Mulder, this isn't funny! Where are you?" She sighed, and sat down on the desk, deciding to wait untill Mulder returned. Picking the X-File on Eugene Tooms' case, she began to read through, reviewing the content.
She checked her watch. It'd had been 20 minutes since she had returned to the office. Still holding the case file, she stood up to go look for him. That's when the strangest sensation hit her. What is wrong with me? She thought, she'd been perfectly fine all day, but now she felt ill. Scully tried to sit back down on the desk, some how it was lower to the ground than it was earlier. Then she realized that it wasn't a desk that she was sitting on, but rather it was a bench.
"This is odd." She said to herself. Looking around herself, she found that she was in a large city. "A credit for your thoughts, sweetheart." A scratchy voice said. Scully jumped up, startled. A blue alien, with two head tails and no hair, was casually lounging on the bench. Scully was taken aback. She had never seen a Twi'lek before. He grinned at her," you want to buy some deathsticks?"
"I um…well…" "Hmm, want deathsticks she does not. Leave her alone you will." " Sh-she…doesn't want to b-buy deathsticks.I w-will leave her alone." The Twi'lek repeated. He jumped up from the bench and ran off. Scully turned around, and saw a little green alien and a tall, dark skinned human male. (She wasn't entirely sure as to the gender of the alien.) "Oh, hello." She said, now completely confused as to what was going on.
"Hmm, greetings young one." The alien said. He pointed his walking stick at her. He? Scully decided that he was a male. "Looking for someone you are. And yes, a male I am." Blushing crimson red, she asked," how did you know what I was thinking. And who are you?" "More importantly, who are you?" "I'm Dana Scully," Scully said trying to hide her annoyance. "Yoda, I am. And my companion, Master Mace Windu, he is."
"Master of what?" "Master of the force," Windu said. " The force, surrounds every living thing, it does. A newcomer to Coruscant you are." " So that is what this place is called." "That is the name of of this planet. We have to get going now, we're on our way to the senate." "Okay, goodbye." Scully said, surprised at Windu's abruptness. "See you soon, we will." Yoda said, and he and Windu walked away. "What did you mean by that, Master?" Mace Windu asked when they were out of Scully's hearing range. "Find out soon, we will."
Scully realized that she still had Eugene Tooms' case file in her hand. Well that most certainly is odd, she thought, this has been the weirdest day, she must be dreaming. Yes, that is it, she was dreaming. All of this nonsense about Eugene Tooms being alive, is apart of a dream. She is back home in her apartment, not on some strange planet called Coruscant." Excuse me," a voice said, startling her out of her reverie," I need to speak with you." Too late, Scully realized that she had spoken out loud. Mentally berating herself she said,"about what?"
For the first time, she looked up at the person she was speaking to. A human male about 5.6 ft tall, with black hair, tan skin, and green eyes; standing next to a tall, rather young looking, alien female, was eying her curiously." About Eugene Tooms." The man said. " And you are?" "Master Duel, and this is my Padawan Kaila Jade. She is a Zabrack." Duel said, seeing the confused look on Scully's face. "Are you also a master of the force like Mace Windu?" Duel and Jade exchanged glances," yes, I am." Scully nodded," I'm special agent Dana Scully from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI for short. What do you Know about Eugene Tooms?" "I think you'd better come with us Agent Scully. We have much to discuss. Mainly starting with where you come from."
