Chapter 4: What's going on?
In Reefside High, the same day as when Elsa/Principal Randall didn't show up at school*
When Tommy came to school, the entire staff room was buzzing just like honeybees around their honeycomb. Tommy stoped and tried to hear what was going on, but before he could try to do so, a teacher walked to Tommy and said,"Your luck day,eh, Doctor Oliver?" Tommy was confused as to what was going on, but as the bell rang Tommy decided it was better for him to just continue with his work, he headed for his first class.
Something didn't feel right.Everything was going soo smoothly that it felt as if it were the silence before the storm. He had attended 3 classes till now and all he saw was students laughing and teachers making them laugh. On this sight he was quite shocked. Then came Conner, all happy because, well he knew that Randall wasn't in school so he had flunked all the classes till now and had only done soccer practice since morning. He came with a huge smile and whispered to Tommy,"The devil isn't in her office!! she called in sick for today!"
"WHAT!" Tommy was shocked! Principal Randall was missing a school day! Tommy knew something was wrong, it all felt a little too fishy to him keeping in mind his earlier experience as a ranger, Tommy knew that something was wrong as there had neither been any attack on the town nor any sign of any monster trying to get a hold of any new dinosaur egg..something was definitely wrong!
During the break, Tommy found Kira playing her guitar, saw Trent draw as usual, Conner was talking to the coach about his enrollment in the nation level team and Ethan was busy with his computer geeks. Tommy was busy thinking and trying to find out Mesogog's next move. Tommy came to a conclusion that they were planning a big attack on the city, but Tommy had no idea what was up their sleeve.
After school ended, he went down to his dino lab and started to search for any dino energy, thinking maybe they were behind it due to which they had not attacked recently. But he was out of luck. How would he find a dino energy when they weren't after it!
When the rangers came, they saw Tommy busy searching for a dino energy, Conner kept a hand on his shoulder, and said,"Hey dude,everything okay with ya? you seemed freaked out!"
"First, I'm not your 'dude' McKnight! and second, yes I am freaked out! It has been almost 22 hours since the last attack! something just doesn't fit! I think they are trying to gather a huge army before attacking us." Tommy said.
"I think you are just overreacting to it all, maybe the situation isn't that serious as you think." Ethan said.
"Let's not forget that Dr. O is the longest living and serving power ranger there is! maybe he is correct, maybe they are plotting something big against us" said Kira.
"Thanks!" Tommy said with a huge smile."At least someone believes in me!" Conner said," Come on Dr. O, You guys maybe it isn't what you think it is, we are not fight some alien cranky couple, what were their names again?" "Rita and Lord Zedd" said Trent.
"Yea those two. We aren't fighting them, we are fighting Mesogog, Dr. O doesn't have experience with them!"
"But trust me! Something fishy is going on! We must be prepared to face any untimely attack on us!" Said Tommy.
"Ugh! Okay,Okay! we'll be prepared!" said Conner, "You bet we are! let them come!"said Ethan,"Sure, we will be prepared" said Trent, "Okay Dr. O, don't worry we will be prepared, you can count on us" were the words of Kira.
Although each one of them had tried their very best in reassuring Tommy that they had it all under control, Tommy knew that when they strike, this confidence in them would shatter like a bullet shot at a glass and the rangers would be at a loss,he knew he had to be the one who is most prepared in such a situation, after all the four of them were just teenagers and he, an adult who had an experience with being a power ranger and all the sacrifices that are necessary to be made.
