Chapter 8: Of Zombie Hordes and Space Bug Swarms
"I hope you boys are getting all the action you wanted." Blackarachnia said as the group retreats down the hallway towards well they didn't know they just knew getting away from the several hundred zombies trying to kill them was a priority.
"To be honest I think I've had my fill of battle toots." Transquito said in reply as he flies past her.
They eventually reach a chamber where the gun ports were located and barricade themselves in. Silverbolt looks outside the window and sees something floating among the meteors.
"What is that out there?" Silverbolt said before using his optics zoom-in ability to focus in and sees a large cube like shape floating in space with some bizarre insect like creatures crawling over it trying to get inside.
"That's Doctor Vivisect's lab! It can detach in case of a quarantine breach." K-9 said.
"Wait someone is coming out! Its Rattrrap!" Silverbolt said seeing a hatch on the side of the structure open up and watch as Rattrap come out riding on a transmetal wasp/jet-wait was that Waspinator?-and starts shooting at the space bugs. He's followed by a transmetal pteranodon/jet who join them in blasting off the bugs.
"Hey there's another swarm heading their way!" Air Hammer said pointing in the direction of the far left where yes another swarm of dark purple space bugs heading towards them.
"Why do they look like me?" Injector said noting the "bugs" had fish like features as well and suddenly felt very self-conscious.
"Maybe Unicron likes your look?" Transquito said. Injector glares at him.
"Not funny."
"We need to help them!" Silverbolt said.
"How do you propose we do that?" Sky Shaodow said plainly. Though it was more he simply saw no reason to stick his neck out.
"Any of you boys know how to fire one of these things?" Blackarachnia said motioning to the gun turrets. Silverbolt was already jumping into the manual control seat and already firing away. Blackarachnia and Bantor join him and after a moment of pause so does Buzzlcaw. The four blast away at the approaching swarm while Rattrap and the flyers clean off the lab's exterior.
"There's something ironic about a rat and a wasp doing pest control." Blackarachnia said off handily to the others.
The rest meanwhile are standing guard by the doors to make sure no additional threats get inside. Dinobot however watches the battle outside and his optics zero in on Rattrap for a moment watching in silence before turning away to make sure the barricade holds. He would figure out where this strange feeling in his spark was coming from later.
"Alright looks like we're getting some support from the ship." Scorponok said peaking outside the window the guns of the ship easily making short work of the space bugs.
"That's good it would of gotten real messy if that swarm join up with the one already attacking us." Stinkbomb said.
"They're coming back in." Iguanus said as Waspiantor carrying Rattrap and Terrorsaur flew back into the lab and switch back to robot mode.
"Alright Tarantulas I hope you got enough webbing for these two to pull us back to the ship." Rattrap said.
"Done." Tarantulas said having tied the webbing to several parts of the lab that were bolted to the ground. "All we need to do now is attach the webbing to these two and we'll be set."
"Wazpinator is going to need a bath after this." Waspiantor said, to Terrorsaur as the two switch to vehicle mode and the webbing gets wrap around their torsos.
"Just put up with it for now and I'll buy you two a day at the spa when we get out of here." Rattrap said.
"Well after you." Terrosaur said to Waspinator who flies out first with Terrorsaur not far behind.
"Hey Scorponok you and Buzz Saw see anymore of those freaky bugs?" Rattrap said to the two who were keeping a lookout by the window.
"Not at the moment the guns chased them off for now." Buzz Saw said.
"Well let's hope we're back aboard before they come back." Rattrap said.
"Alright it looks like Waspinator and Terrorsaur are towing them back in." Blackarachnia said.
"Thank goodness." Silverbolt said as everyone else cheers.
"Great can we get back to focusing on our problem? All one hundred and fifty of them?" Terragator said pointing to the barricade, which looks like it, was about to come down.
"I knew I was forgetting something." Silverbolt said.
"How can you forget this?" Injector said in alarm as he, Torca, and the rest try and hold the door shut.
"Maybe he has ADHD like Powerpinch does? Maybe I should examine him to see?" Scourge said gleeful at the thought of "examining" someone.
"Shut up Scourge!" all the present Predacons said.
"I don't know whose worse him or Vivisect. I mean when even other Predacons don't like you…." Bantor whispers to Air Hammer who nods.
"Wait I have an idea. Everyone get your weapons ready and then let the barricade fall and we'll blast them as they come in." Blackarachnia said.
"Good idea we'll use the door as a chokepoint and keep them from swarming us." Torca said and points his large gun at the door. Everyone backs off and follows suit weapons ready.
"Here they come." Silverbolt said as the barricade finally went down.
