Proserpine was going to cause him to stab himself before he could even fight the battle. He just knew it. He wanted to protect her. But she was stubborn. And very determined.
He found himself looking at her, walking next to him. The armor flattered her curves so perfectly, it was as if they were made for her. And her braid was the best plume he thought he ever would have the chance to see.
Her fierce green eyes shined brightly from behind the nose guard. He could smell her lavender, mint, and rose scent floating through the air alluringly. She looked smoking hot. And she had basically said she wanted to marry him.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts. Proserpine noticed.
"Something wrong?"
"Trying to concentrate. Don't want to go to battle distracted."
"Mmm."
She turned back to her mother, who was discussing the war with the Titans, trying to give Proserpine some tips. The dead army marched soundlessly behind them, in perfect formation.
Pluto was feeling pretty confident. Then he looked ahead. The wall was before them. And there was an army at its base. The Arias turned, sensing them. They howled, then charged.
For hours thousands of monsters rushed at them. The dead fell, then got back up. Ceres cut down swathes of monsters. The ones in Pluto's way standed no chance.
But Proserpine was the real star. She shot arrows, never missing a shot. Once those ran out she pulled out two daggers and attacked the Aria with a new ferocity, eyes gleaming. Good gods, was that woman ENJOYING this?! She was an absolute terror. When the daggers were gone, she pulled out a sword and slayed so many, they no longer tried to fight her, but fled.
But half of dead army had moved to between the Arias and the wall. They were trapped. Soon, all the Aria were just dust. While the dead swept up the dust, Proserpine threw her arms around Pluto's neck and kissed him passionately. It was over.
