I woke up to the sun shining in the window to my room in the Avengers tower. I sat up and streched. I heard voices downstairs and wondered what everyone is doing up so early. I fumbled out of my warm bed to go check it out.
I got downstairs and seen everyone sitting down in the main room. My heart stopped. Then it began beating faster, and faster, and faster! When I turned the corner, I saw the decorations! I couldn't believe that I had forgotten it was Christmas!
A huge smile grew on my face as I gazed at the huge Christmas tree. It was lit up with beautiful twinkling lights.
It was the first time I had actually ever celebrated Christmas. Or even known it existed.
Where I lived before, people thought I were a monster for my abilities. I could control things with my mind since I was two. My parents got scared and sent me to a hospital where every day was the same. I wad tourched. Everyday those horrible scientists would do experiments on me. There was never any fun. No laughter. No holidays.
But I eventually got out. And one fatefull day, none other then the amazing Captain America found me. He had heard about me and wanted me to join the Avengers. I was only 17 at the time but I agreed. I was so excited. Months passed. I was trained, and trained, and trained. And I made friends with all of the Avengers. Expecially Peter. All of these memories and more flashed through my head when I saw the decorations.
But one particular memory stood out to me. A few weeks ago, Tony had told me that Christmas was coming up. I asked what Christmas was and he explained. I honsetly thought he was making everything up. So I asked him what you do on Chrismas. He said "It's different for everyone. But, on Christmas, we all wake up really early. We go down stairs and sit all around the room but facing a large, decorated, lit evergreen tree. Every one buys gifts for one another. And after 3 cups of coffee each, we all exchange gifts and sit and talk about everything possible."
Since I thought it was fake, I didnt pay attention when he told me the date. I soon snapped back into reality. I realized that Christmas was real. Tony looked over and smiled at me. "Nicole, come join us." He said motioning me to come over there. I walked a bit towards them and then stopped. "Why didn't anyone wake me up? I am sorry I missed the 'waking up early' part." I said with reget and confusion.
Clint looked over to me. "You looked tired. We thought it would be best to let you sleep." He said answering your question. Peter budded in. "Yeah, but we didn't start without you! Right Mr. Stark?!" Peter said with a smile. Tony looked from me to Peter, and back to me. "Yes. We would never leave out a friend." He smiled again. I walked over and sat down.
Everyone was smiling and talking. "Well now that we're all here..." Tony started as he picked up a gift out from under the tree. "Time for stage three in the Christmas day plans. Exchanging gifts." He said as he handed me a gift box. Everyone went mostly quiet and looked at me. Peter leaned over to me. "Open it." He whispered. I took a breath and ripped off the wrapping paper. I have never had anyone give me a gift before.
I opened the box and it was a jacket. But not just any jacket. It was the official Avengers jacket! Everyone got one when they were done with training and moved up to be a real Avenger!
I jumped up as fast as I could and through my arms around Tony. I gave him the biggest hug I have ever given anyone. "Thank you!" I utter as every one smiled. "You deserve it." Tony answered back.
We both sat back down. Everyone eventually started giving others their gifts.
Natasha got Bruce a heart rate monitor watch. Bruce laughed.
Clint got Natasha a pair of black lether fingless gloves. She loved them.
Steve got Clint a card with 20 dollars inside. Clint was hard to buy for but he liked it.
Tony got Steve a trophy that stated ~Worlds oldest virgin~ on it. He laughed at the gift but he appreciated it.
Peter got Tony a mug that said 'Best Dad Ever' on it. It was small but it was greatly appreciated.
Tony got Peter new web shooters. Peter liked them.
Then I realized something... I stood up and said, "I am sooo sorry. I didn't think that Christmas was actually real. I hadn't got anyone anything!"
"It's ok Nicole." Peter said looking at me. "IT'S NOT OK!" I protested. I walked over to Steve and whispered to him. He shook his head in agreement.
I walked towards Peter. He stood up. I had to act fast before I chickened out.
I pulled Peter towards me and kissed him! Tony tried to get up to break us up but Steve stopped him. After a hot second Peter pulled away. He blushed.
"Why did you do that?" He asked very confused. "It was Christmas gift to you." I answered. "A kiss?" He asked.
"A confession." I answered looking him straight in the eyes. "Peter...I... I love you." I continued with a smile.
Peter stared back at me. "I love you too." He eventually said. "I know." I whispered as he pulled me close for another kiss. Everyone smiled and started cheering... Except for Tony.
Me and Peter turned around to face him. He stood up. "You know I dont like the idea of either of you dating anyone." He said firmly. "We know." Peter answered. "But we are both responsible, and we will care for each other greatly." I said as I jumped in. "Ok... But yall start any funny businesses I will NOT hesitate to put a stop to it." Tony warned.
Me and Peter smiled at each other and promised Tony that we would be fine. Everyone cheered again. Me and Peter hugged.
*This may seem like the end, but every good story has a twist *
As soon as we did, the door to the Avengers tower burst open.
