(Flashback)

The day after young Albert's tenth birthday, he was showing his life-long best friend Amata the place that James and Jonas had set him up with as a firing range. "It's just down here, Amata! Through this door down to the Reactor Level." He said excitedly.

"Wait! We aren't allowed down there…" She timidly protested.

"Come on, Amata, it's not like anyone can see us... and you're not a chicken, are you?" He asked with a sly grin.

"Oh, you're ON, mister!" Said Amata, who opened the door that led downstairs. "Race ya there!" She then took off, with Al in hot pursuit.

"Hey, no fair!" Said Al as he closed the door and ran after her. As Amata reached another door to the left, Al got there just after.

"Ha! Beat ya!" She said with pride.

"Phew, no WONDER you're losing weight! Good job!" Al congratulated.

"You… I… ya think so?" Amata asked shyly.

"Well, sure! Anyway, it's just through this door." He said as he opened the next door, completely oblivious to how flattered he'd just made his best friend feel. They walked down the short hallway and found the little firing range with three red-and-white striped targets. Separating them from the targets was a locker on its side, with a long BB gun resting on top of it.

"Dude, this is sweet!" Said Amata, taken aback.

"Hell yeah it is!" Said Al. "This is how and where I train myself to kill any stray radroaches that may be found." After about half an hour of the ten-year-old boy and the nine-year-old girl shooting BB bullets at the targets, a radroach emerged from beyond the barrier as Amata held the gun.

"Oh, crap!" She said. "What do I do?"

"This is what we trained for; just aim the gun at it and fire." He said firmly. As the roach spotted Amata, it creepily crawled towards her. However, as Amata shakily aimed at the beast, she pulled the trigger, but realised that she forgot to cock the lever. She cocked the lever and squeezed the trigger once more, but once again, all that was heard was a *click*.

"I think it's out of ammo!" She said to Al, becoming more terrified. Al realised that his small box of BB bullets was on the barrier, which the roach had now climbed over. As the roach closed in on Amata, she fell backwards trying to evade it. Thinking of no other option, Al quickly ran to the roach just as it was beginning to pounce on Amata and eat her, and punched it away with all the might he could muster.

"You don't touch her!" He shouted as he did this. As the roach was knocked back, trembling a bit, Amata - without thinking - grabbed the BB gun and held it like a baseball bat, before whacking the roach several times with it. As she did this, Al went over to the roach and stomped on its head, killing it. Amata slowly turned her head towards Albert, shaking, then dropped the gun and immediately pulled him into a tight hug.

Al felt confused at this sudden act, and didn't know what to do, so he just put his arms around her waist and hugged her back. After a few seconds of sobbing in horror as she hugged him, Amata then pulled her head back and looked at him with her watery eyes, before leaning towards him and kissing him on the lips, closing her eyes. Al stayed wide-eyed throughout this entire act, even though it only lasted a few seconds.

Amata pulled back and looked at Al with dreamy eyes. Seeing Al's shocked expression made her giggle. "You're my freakin' HERO, you know that?!" She said, but Al just continued to look into her eyes with a shocked expression. "Hey, dude, you still there? Yoohoo!" She asked, clicking her finger in front of his blank face. "Earth to Albert! Wake uuup!" She said jokingly. "Hello? C'mon, wake up!"

(Present Day, Friday 20th August, 2280, 10:14am)

"Albert. Wake up. Babe, wake up!" Amata raised her voice.

"Huh? What?" He said groggily.

"Finally! It's quarter-past ten!" Amata said playfully.

A few minutes later, Albert and Amata were sat up in bed, still naked, having only been awake for a few minutes. Al then got up, walked over to the fridge, and got out a half-full box of Sugar Bombs. He then looked back to Amata. "Breakfast, gorgeous?" He asked.

Amata then smiled back at him. "You know it!" She said playfully, before getting up herself and approaching her husband. Amata playfully smacked Al on the ass and gave him a moderately short kiss on the lips, before getting some BlamCo Mac & Cheese from the fridge and setting it up on a plate.

A few minutes later, they had finished their moderately-sized rations, and now bagan to get dressed into their undergarments. Al applied white boxers, white socks, and a white t-shirt; Amata applied white panties, pink socks, and a white vest (tank-top), which showed an extremely generous amount of cleavage, as well as her midriff.

Al put the dishes in the sink for Godfrey to clean later, when Al turned and noticed Amata's hard nipples poking through her undershirt, which quickly turned him on. Despite the fact that the newly-married couple had spent the last few weeks doing almost nothing except fuck each other stupid, and that they'd had sex almost every day for three years as teenagers in the vault, they still turned each other on a great deal.

Amata quickly noticed Al's gaze, and gave him a coy smirk in return, knowing - and very much liking - exactly what he was thinking about. More specifically, what he was thinking about doing to her…

"Al, honey, we've just gotten dressed." She said with a smirk.

"Are you saying you DON'T want my cock inside you?" He teased.

"You sly little…" Said Amata, sounding somewhat defeated. "That's not fair!" She added with a playful grin.

She then walked over to Al and wrapped her arms around his neck as she locked her lips onto his. Al happily kissed her back as he placed his hands on her slim waist. After a short time of making-out, the couple pulled away and looked into each other's eyes with adoration. Al then kissed Amata on the forehead and led her to the bed, whereupon the couple spent a few hours of foreplay, intercourse, and conclusive cuddling with one-another.

As they lay in each other's arms, Amata spoke up. "Babe, I'm actually really thirsty." She said, prompting Al to let go of her and let her get up.

"I'm not surprised! Breakfast and then sex? You MUST be thirsty!" He said playfully.

As Amata got up and walked up to the fridge, Al stared at her naked ass the entire time, realising, at this random moment in time, that he had absolutely no regrets in life whatsoever.

"Heads up, stud!" Said Amata, chucking a plastic bottle of ice-cold water towards her husband.

Al caught the bottle in his hands as he lay in bed. "Thanks, sexy." He said.

Amata unscrewed the bottle's cap and took a long swig of her water, then walked back to bed as she put the cap back on the bottle. Al drank half of his water and put the bottle on the nightstand as Amata got back under the covers with him. Life for this young couple went on like this for a while, never thinking that they could've been so happy in the Capital Wasteland.

On Sunday 14th November, 2280, Al and Amata were out travelling, leaving the dogs in Godfrey's care at the hotel room. Since Al had trained Amata how to maneuver in power armour recently, they were both in power armour and power helmets for maximum protection; Amata was wearing the unique T-51b power armour, whilst Al was wearing a regular suit of T-45d Brotherhood power armour.

Al carried 'Eugene', a unique minigun, the ammo of which was in a metal box strapped onto his back like a backpack; Al had an ammo belt that connected from the box to the minigun, rather than having a large drum in the gun's magazine slot. Amata carried in her hands 'The Terrible Shotgun', a unique shotgun, and holstered on her thigh was 'The Kneecapper', a unique sawn-off shotgun.

The duo walked along the wasteland in search of provisions and ammo, when they spotted an Enclave vertibird flying by; it was close, and coming down to the ground.

Al then turned to face his wife. "Amata, these are the guys that seized Project Purity those years ago, and they never back down; we'll be in for a decent fight if they spot us, especially since we're in non-Enclave power armour." He informed her.

"They can bring it; can't be that hard to kill someone, right?" Said Amata. "Besides... I eventually got over almost killing Stevie Mack."

"Yeah, only because he survived." Said Al. "Plus, these guys are seriously armed and organised. They're a big-deal army. Don't worry, though; I've got your back."

"And I've got yours, honey." She said back, just as the vertibird landed a few yards away, shortly followed by its door opening, and two Enclave officers emerging.

"Enemies sighted!" Shouted the male Enclave officer, prompting three Enclave soldiers - each clad in Enclave power armour - to charge outta the vertibird with laser rifles, and shoot at the duo.

As Al and Amata shot at the three soldiers, the two officers took their sidearms from their holsters; the male officer had a laser pistol, while the female had a plasma pistol. After about twenty seconds, Al had mowed down the three soldiers with his minigun, two of which had lost a few limbs. Amata used her shotgun to shoot at the officers, though it proved as fairly ineffective at such a distance.

Therefore, knowing that she was well-protected by her full suit of power armour, Amata gradually approached the officers as she shot at them with her shotgun, and eventually caught the male officer in the neck with the spread of the shell. The male officer clutched his bleeding throat with his hand and dropped his pistol, making the female officer holster her pistol and flee.

"It's okay, I've got this!" Amata shouted over to Al, who had just barely heard her from behind the heavy-duty helmet.

Amata then chased after the officer, leaving Al to loot the bodies by the vertibird. A few seconds after Al detached from his minigun gear and crouched by the soldier that lay intact on the ground, he suddenly reached up and punched Al in his helmeted face. The soldier had pretended to die from Al's minigun fire by falling down early.

Al was physically knocked back by this sudden act, allowing the soldier to grab his laser rifle and stand up. The soldier shot at Al's armour a few times, before Al ran up to him and rugby-tackled him to the floor, causing the soldier to drop his weapon. Al then pressed his hands on both sides of the man's head and dislodged his helmet, before tossing it aside

Al then punched him in the face a few times, knocking him into submission. Meanwhile, Amata had chased the female Enclave officer a few yards, when she got annoyed and fired her shot at the officer, forcing her to stop in her tracks.

"Keep running, and I'll fucking kill you!" Amata yelled.

The officer then immediately raised her hands in surrender. "Okay, you got me!" She yelled, seeing no way to fight or retreat without being killed immediately. "Just don't kill me!" She pleaded for her life.

"Turn around slowly, and keep your hands up!" Amata ordered.

The officer did as she was told, then Amata approached her, now with her shotgun strapped on her back, and with her sawn-off shotgun in her hand. As Amata kept her sidearm pointed at the officer's face, she used her left hand to take the officer's plasma pistol, and then search her for ammo. Amata then walked behind her and pressed the barrel of her gun onto her back.

"Now, move. Back to the vertibird." Amata calmly ordered.

The officer put her hands on the back of her head as she began to walk. "You won't get away with this. The Enclave never forgets!" She said.

Al was just done searching the corpses of the officer and two soldiers, when he saw Amata and the now-unarmed female Enclave officer emerge from over the hill that they had disappeared to.

Al waved to Amata, then heard the Enclave soldier, who Al had just beaten, begin to stir and come to, so Al picked up the laser rifle that he'd dropped and pointed it at him. After a few seconds, the soldier was fully-conscious once more, and saw the gun in his face.

"Stand up. Slowly." Al ordered the man.

The Enclave soldier did as he was told, then placed his hands on the back of his neck, scowling at Al the whole time. This man was a Caucasian skin-head who looked to be in his late-twenties or early-thirties.

"What's your name, man?" Al asked.

The soldier grunted in irritation. "... Barney." He answered with reluctance.

Amata then walked up to the scene with the captured officer. "Well, Barney…" Al began. "I ain't gonna lie; you fucked up."

The officer then spoke up. "Yeah, I think that my subordinate can quite clearly see that." She said bitterly, prompting Amata to press the barrel of her sawn-off shotgun onto the back of her head, as if to tell her to shut up.

"Now, step out of your armour." Al ordered Barney.

Barney gradually removed his power armour, and was left in just a white t-shirt and blue boxers. A few seconds later, the two members of the Enclave were now on their knees beside each other, with their hands behind their heads, and Amata's shotgun pointed at them.

"What should we do with them?" Amata asked Al, who was gathering the Enclave's left-over ammo. "We shouldn't kill them, right?" This question made the female officer widen her eyes in fear, and the male soldier raise his eyes at the abrupt nature of the question. "I mean… they're unarmed and greatly overwhelmed; we should let 'em go." She said.

Al then approached his wife, who still had her eyes fixed on the two members of the Enclave. "You've got a good point, but I have a better idea." He said.

"Hey!" Barney shouted. "Don't you Brotherhood morons understand what you're doing?! You're already dead, chumps." He told the duo.

"Barney, shut UP." The officer ordered, her voice trembling slightly.

"Oh, we're not with the Brotherhood of Steel." Al politely clarified.

"What? Then, who are you?" Barney asked, bemused. "I mean, what's with the Brotherhood armour, then?" He asked further. Since Al and Amata were still completely covered in power armour, helmets included, their two prisoners didn't even know what they looked like.

Al then removed his helmet. "My name's Albert, and this is my wife Amata." He answered. Al then holstered his helmet on the side of his armour and pointed his laser rifle at the pair. "Amata, could you please take their things back home? I'll take it from here." Al suggested.

"You sure, hun?" Amata asked as she holstered her shotgun, then removed her own helmet.

"Yeah. Get back home and I'll see you shortly." Al assured her, not taking his eyes off the two prisoners as he pointed the laser rifle at them. "I took the cells outta those laser guns, so you can sell 'em." He added.

Amata then picked up the ammo that Al had just gathered, along with the two laser rifles and laser pistol; she had already taken the female officer's plasma pistol. After holstering the longarms on her back, Amata then picked up Barney's power armour kit and walked away.

"Okay, Barney." Said Al. "You're going to go over to that dead officer there and put his uniform on."

Barney then undressed his dead commander and applied his uniform, boots, and cap, just managing to fit them on, since he was a little bit larger. Albert then told Barney and the female officer to run away from the scene, so they both did, leaving Albert with three corpses and a vertibird.

Once the two were out of sight, Al went to Craterside Supply in Megaton, where he found Amata, having just sold all the high-tech loot. "Oh, hiya, honey!" Amata greeted.

"Hey, babe. I sorted the problem… peacefully. And I also have an extra gun to sell, now." Said Al, giving Moira the laser rifle. Moira had given Amata plenty of caps for the Enclave's equipment.

Al and Amata then headed out and went to the central marketplace. Amata went to The Brass Lantern to pick up some provisions to take home, whilst Al went to Doc Church's Clinic for medical supplies. Once done with their business, they left the city and walked to Tenpenny Tower. However, not even halfway there, the duo happened to encounter a deathclaw in the distance.

Al quickly put his hand on Amata's chest, stopping her in her tracks. "Babe, what's up?" Amata asked, bemused.

"Don't move." He said, making Amata feel a bit alarmed. "Deathclaw, about a hundred yards away. Slowly put your helmet on, and follow my lead." He clarified, slowly applying his power helmet.

"What's a deathclaw?" Amata whispered as she applied her power helmet.

"Mutated chameleons, about ten feet tall, and very fast. We might be able to sneak around it." Al whispered back.

Amata then saw the deathclaw in the distance, shocking her slightly. "Just use your minigun." She suggested.

"Could do. Might not work, though. Could take my head off with one swipe." He said.

The two crouched down and slowly sneaked around the beast, which took a bit longer than they expected, but they eventually evaded the deathclaw without being detected by it, and later arrived safely back at the hotel. The two got back up to their hotel room, went into the armoury, and got out of their power armour, before going to the kitchen.

A few minutes later, Al had just fed the dogs, and the couple were now eating dinner at the table. "So, do you like it here?" Al asked Amata.

"Well, yeah! It's certainly not as clean as the vault, but it's certainly… well, much healthier and more enjoyable than I ever would've expected!" She replied to her husband. "It's actually better than the vault in a lotta ways."

"Oh… well, I'm glad to hear that! I didn't expect such a positive review." Al said with relief.
