Prologue

Tommy sat in his bedroom. He was feeling a bit troubled about something. Ever since the days he had teamed up with and watched his family's friend, Ash Ketchum, win the Alola Pokemon League, he had grown an admiration for Pokemon. So much so, that he began to wonder if he could become a Trainer himself and balance it with his job as one of the Justice League.

"I wonder if Mom and Dad would approve of it. I mean, I do intend to grow up and inherit the family business, but…" Tommy said before Diana, his mom, came in.

"Tommy, is something wrong?" she asked.

Tommy shook off his worry and said, "No, nothing at all."

Diana then walked out before Tommy looked up at a poster of the upcoming Pokemon League, which was set to take place in the next four months. He wondered if he could make a name for himself besides Chiroptera. Sure, Chiroptera made himself known so much that he had t-shirts, toys, even autograph meetings. But, what about Tommy? Mainly, people saw him as the heir to WayneTech, being the son of Bruce Wayne, not that he wasn't proud of it. He had also heard his mother and father say they wish people would see him as someone different than that. It was then that he remembered Dash from the Incredibles telling him about the time he climbed Mount Everest to make his family's name known. It was then that he made up his mind.

Later, at the Hall of Justice, Chiroptera sat at the table before everyone else came in.

"All right, we're here. What is it you want to discuss with us, Tommy?" Hawkgirl asked.

"(SIGH) Here goes. Everyone, I know this isn't really an emergency, but I have something I would like all of you to consider." Tommy said.

"What is it?" Batman asked.

"Well, ever since I watched Ash and his Pikachu and other Pokemon team up with us and battle in the Alola League, I've taken an interest in Pokemon. I've also got an idea for how I can make my name known as something other than just the heir of WayneTech, like Mom and you have always told me. I would like to travel the Kanto Region and do my very best to become a Pokemon League Champion, but I didn't know how all of you would take it, especially because I have a job as a Justice Leaguer. I just figured it would be a good idea, especially because Dash made his family name known by climbing Mount Everest, which he knew was hard but went for it anyway. Not only that, but I would get to explore a lot. So, what do you guys think?" Tommy said.

Everyone looked surprised at what he said before Wonder Woman said, "Tommy, please excuse all of us for a moment."

Everyone, save for Tommy, followed her into another room.

"We can't just let him go off and do whatever he wants. The Justice League needs him more than that." Andy said.

"Right, but he's not wrong in wanting to go out on an adventure." Superwoman said.

"Aside from that, he is considering our needs next to his own, which is why he thought to ask all of us instead of just his parents." Superman said.

"Not only would he visit new places, but he could make new friends, aside from Pokemon." Brainiac-5 said.

"His inspiration comes from the right place, too. If he wants to make himself known in a different way than how everyone automatically sees him, there's nothing wrong with that." Jon said.

"Don't forget, I left the League for my own purposes as well, and it worked out okay. If we need him, we can call on him." Martian Manhunter said.

"Right, but we still need to consider the League's needs for him." Batman said.

"Don't forget, Bruce. When he was born, we said we would keep his best interests in mind. When he gets older, we may have more need of him than we do now. He's a child, so we need to consider how he feels about this." Wonder Woman said.

"Right." Batman said before they all went back to where Tommy was.

"Tommy, we have discussed this matter, and we now need your input. We are aware this journey is important to you, but if the League needs your help, can we count on it?" Zatanna asked.

"Of course. This journey is important to me, but the League always comes first. If you need me, don't hesitate to call me!" Tommy said.

Everyone smiled, seeing his honesty.

"Okay then, if you wish to be a Pokemon Trainer and make a name for yourself, go for it!" Wonder Woman said.

Tommy smiled, knowing he had everyone on his side.

A few days later, after shopping for supplies Tommy would need, a man with gray hair wearing a lab outfit arrived at Wayne Manor.

"Tommy, we have company!" Diana called. Tommy came downstairs.

"Hello there! You must be Tommy Wayne! It's an honor to meet the son of one of my old colleagues!" the man said as he shook Tommy's hand.

"Hello, sir." Tommy said.

"My name is Oak. People affectionately refer to me as the Pokemon Professor. As I'm sure you know, the world happens to be inhabited by creatures called Pokemon. For some, Pokemon are pets. Others prefer to battle with their Pokemon and train them. Those kinds of people are what you seek to become, a Pokemon Trainer. I have brought with me this device." the man said as he handed Tommy a red device that resembled an old-style Game Boy.

"This is a PokeDex. It records data on Pokemon you've seen or caught. As an addition, I have five different Pokemon that you can choose to start out with." Professor Oak said.

He then set the Poke Balls on a table and said, "Take your pick. Any one of them is perfect for a beginner."

That's when he set cards in front of each of the Poke Balls. They showed Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Eevee.

"Hmm…" Tommy said as he looked them over.
