Chapter 1: An Unorthodox Starter and Departure.
"I don't know which one to pick. Professor, do you have a recommended starter?" Tommy asked.
"Truth be told, I figure all five of these are good to start out with." Professor Oak said before a Pokemon that looked like a blue bat with purple wings landed on his head.
"What's that?" Tommy asked as he pointed the PokeDex at it and its screen displayed an image of it.
"Zubat, the Bat Pokemon. Relying on supersonic abilities to see, Zubat are normally found in caves and do not like to go out in sunlight." the PokeDex said.
"This Zubat is a wild one that has been following me since I did research at Mt. Moon." Professor Oak said.
Tommy then eyed a bunch of empty Pokeballs that Professor Oak was supposed to give him, picked one up, aimed at the Zubat and enlarged the ball.
"In that case…" Tommy said before he tossed the ball at Zubat and it was zapped inside as red energy. The Poke Ball fell on the floor and shook before it dinged.
"Professor, I'd like to start with this Zubat, if that's okay." Tommy said. Bruce and Diana smiled, knowing the reason.
"Well, a Zubat is what many Trainers do start with in route training. Very well. You will also see many more Pokemon on your travels. Be sure to catch as many as possible. If you're ready to start, follow me and I'll take you to the ferry to Pallet Town." Professor Oak said as he headed to the door.
As Tommy reached for the door handle, he heard a familiar voice say, "1...2...3…!"
That's when the door flew open and Tommy flew back onto the floor as the rest of the Justice League, as well as Eric and the Incredibles, blew instruments and horns.
"Quiet, everyone!" Eric said after about 10 seconds.
"Hey, what are you guys doing here?" Tommy asked.
"We came to wish you good luck." Cole said.
"These guys told us about it, so we thought we'd come do the same." Elastigirl said.
"Well, thanks, everyone." Tommy said.
Later at the port, Diana walked up to Tommy with a backpack and tears in her eyes.
"Tommy, we're all proud of you for daring to take this journey, but I'm going to miss you so much." Diana said as she hugged him.
"I'll miss you, too, Mom." Tommy said as he hugged her back.
"Good luck, son." Bruce said, shaking his son's hand.
"Thanks, Dad." Tommy said.
Later, after many more goodbyes, Tommy boarded the ferry to Pallet Town.
"I'll see you all again! I'll be back once I become a Champion!" Tommy called as he waved from the back of the ferry.
"Bye! See ya! We're gonna miss you!" everyone else called.
