Luna's wide eyes stared at her reflection in the mirror. It would happen any time now. She knew she had to have a soulmate, everyone did! When the youngest person of the pair, or trio in some cases, turned of age – twenty- one, they would switch places with their soulmate.

Today was Luna's birthday, well it would be in five more minutes. She hadn't stopped looking at the clock, counting each and every second. The idea that there was someone out there that was her soulmate made her happy. She'd finally found friends, and now, she'd find something much more.

Part of her wondered if she should lie down in her bed. That's what usually happened, the switch occurred while person was asleep. Luna took a few steps towards her bed as she heard the large grandfather clock downstairs chiming midnight. She gasped in shock as her body started to sway. Her vision blurred as if the world was spinning too fast. For a brief moment, she felt sick to her stomach, but then everything stopped.

Luna became very aware she now lying down. Sighing with relief that the switch had actually happened, she blinked open her eyes. At first it was too dark to see anything. It was midnight after all. Her soulmate must have been asleep. She wondered who she was now. There was an ache in her leg, she sat up and rubbed it gently.

The bed was empty save for herself. She wondered why her soulmate had such a large bed for one person. Had there been someone else before? Luna slowly swung her new legs over the edge of the bed, pushing the heavy velvet curtains open to see the rest of the bedroom. There was a small wooden nightstand next to the giant bed. She picked up the small copper colored clock sitting there and looked at it. It was a typical wizarding world clock.

"So my soulmate is a wizard, or at least lives in the wizarding world," she stated. She rose from the bed, her leg throbbing. Luna frowned and looked down at it, unable to see the flesh beneath the silken green pyjama pants. Her soulmate was male.

"Not that it really matters," she commented. Luna had long since come to accept she didn't care about what the person looked like on the outside, if they were make or female. It was the inside that mattered. She wondered about this person's inside. She realized she didn't even know who she was yet.

"There has to be a mirror or something with his name on it around here somewhere," she muttered, still limping badly. Something silvery in the corner between the nightstand and bed caught her attention. She reached over and grabbed it. It was a black cane with a silver serpent head as the handle. Luna could feel the magic pulsing through it.

"Cane wand, that narrows it down a lot," she whispered, leaning on the cane slightly as she made her way from the bed to the other side of the room. There was a door there, one she hoped would lead to the loo.

"Lucius? Are you up?" someone called. Luna froze. She recognized the voice of the speaker, who could forget the voices of the people who had tortured her and her friends her last year of school?

"Lucius?"

"Um, I'm up," Luna answered, realizing exactly whose body she was currently possessing.

"Good, because I still can't sleep," the voice continued. Luna had followed it through a doorway into a small sitting room. She realized this must be the master suite of the house, including a center bedroom, a loo through one door and a sitting room through the other. She looked around, seeing Narcissa Malfoy sitting in one of the leather covered seats.

"Me either," Luna answered. It was the truth, there was no going back to sleep now. Not when she had found out her soulmate was married, that her soulmate was a Death Eater. She forced herself not to panic. Things were different since the war ended. If Lucius Malfoy wasn't in Azkaban, then they must have let him out for a reason. There had been trials for everyone they had rounded up. Luna tried to slow her breathing, but she could feel herself panicking.

"Lucius? Is something wrong?" Narcissa asked. Luna shook her head quickly.

"There is, we agreed we'd tell each other everything since the war, now, what's wrong?" Narcissa asked, staring straight at Luna. Luna nodded, sinking into a chair slowly.

"Narcissa, do you remember how soulmates switch bodies when the youngest comes of age?" she asked.

"I remember, I remember waking up in your body. That was a shock, you however, just kept staring at your new reflection in the mirror. Why do you bring it up now? Has Draco said something about it to you?"

"No, he has not," Luna answered truthfully. She hadn't spoken to Draco in months.

"Lucius."

"I'm not Lucius," Luna finally confessed. Narcissa stared at her, looking her over before nodding.

"You're right, you don't carry yourself as he does, you're not keeping his expressions as emotionless as he does," she smiled. "I always wondered if there was something, someone, missing from our group. I never expected it was someone much younger. You seem almost afraid of me?" Narcissa asked, rising from her chair and walking over to Luna. Luna tried not to tremble as Narcissa ran a finger over her face. There was a slight thrill there, something Luna couldn't quite explain. She never thought she'd be soulmated into a triad.

"I am, a little," Luna said. If Narcissa and Lucius were being honest with each other about everything, then Luna felt she should be too.

"Who are you?" Narcissa asked. "I want to know who our third is, you're just twenty-one today, right?"

"Yes," Luna answered, still hesitating to tell Narcissa her identity. She knew she wouldn't be able to hide it. Lucius would know whose body he was in. Luna could only hope he wasn't doing something with it she wouldn't.

"A year younger than Draco, you must have gone to school with him then. Oh, don't tell me! Let's make this a game, I do love guessing games," Narcissa exclaimed. "Don't worry, dearie, I won't make you do anything you don't want to. I know Lucius would be furious if I did something to our new soulmate without him. You are welcome to disrobe if you'd like," Narcissa offered.

"I.. I think I'll wait," Luna answered.

"That's fine, you'll have plenty of time, the switch does last for twenty-four hours. Now, did you go to school with Draco?"

"Yes," Luna answered. "May I ask you questions as well? I mean, since you're one of my soulmates?"

"Of course, we should use this time to get to know each other, since Lucius and I know everything about each other. I wonder why he hasn't shown up here in your body, of course, when we switched, he spent several hours in the loo, learning all the," Narcissa paused, " ways my body was different from his," she concluded causing Luna to blush.

"I hope he enjoys exploring mine as well. Yes, I went to school with Draco, I was a year behind him there."

"Which house?" Narcissa asked.

"Ravenclaw. What attracted you to Lucius, I mean, other than being soulmates?" Luna asked.

"At first, his power, if I'm being honest. He's from an old family, old money. That was the kind of family I had to marry into. Even if we hadn't been soulmates, I would have ended up with someone similar. That's how it works in the old pure-blood families. You're familiar with that, aren't you?"

"In a way, yes. I know about those traditions, my mother and father were from families with similar ideas at one point," Luna answered.

"So you're a pure-blood?" Narcissa asked. Luna tried to get a reading on whether or not Narcissa considered this a good thing.

"Yes," she finally answered. Narcissa smiled, but then that smile flickered.

"I know in the old times..."

"I'm not blood related to your or Lucius," Luna clarified. There were cases where soulmates were blood related, that led to a whole slew of problems.

"Good, are you hungry? I know it's late, but I can have the elves bring us some tea?"

"I would like that very much, Narcissa," Luna replied. She was starting to feel more comfortable here, getting to actually talk to Narcissa, to see her as a person, was really helping. She hoped she and Lucius would also get along as well, they were soulmates after all.

"Wonderful," she said, summoning a house elf. "This is Riel, she's one of our elves. You'll have your own set, unless you already have some?"

"No, I do not," Luna answered. "But I am fascinated with creatures. Hello, Riel."

"Mistress Narcissa?" the elf asked, looking to Narcissa.

"That is our newest house member, Riel."

"Soulmate switch," the elf stated, with a firm nod. "What can I bring you, Mistress?"

"Blackberry tea would be lovely," Luna answered. Riel nodded again before vanishing.

"I have a good idea of your name now," Narcissa said softly. "A year behind my Draco, Ravenclaw, treats house elves as equals. Miss Lovegood, let me formally welcome you to Malfoy Manor, I hope that you'll consider it home soon."

Luna smiled. Narcissa had figured out who she was, not that she'd tried to hide it very hard. Now, she was being formally welcomed to her new home, with her new soulmates, her family.

"Thank you, Narcissa, I happily accept your offer," she replied as they heard someone outside the room. Narcissa and Luna turned to the door as Lucius, in Luna's body, walked into the room, kissed Narcissa passionately before turning his attention to Luna. She smiled at him.

"Good morning, sir."

"Luna, I hope Narcissa has been making you feel welcome in our home?"

"She has, sir."

"Lucius, call me Lucius, please. You are my soulmate and I would kiss you if you were not currently in my body."

"Then allow me," Luna stated, leaning over and kissing her body, having kissed her own reflection many times in an attempt to practice kissing. She could feel heat run through her current body. The kiss broke leaving them staring at each other. Luna could feel her face flushing as she became quite aware of one way her body and Lucius' differed. Narcissa laughed realizing what was happening.

"Lucius, could you please help Luna to the loo, and make sure she doesn't pee on the seat? Also, you might want to help show her how to..." Narcissa let her voice trail off as Lucius blushed, leading Luna from the sitting room to explore her current anatomy, something he was all to happy to help her with.

"Join us?" Luna offered, pausing the doorway. Narcissa blinked, but nodded, rising and joining her new soulmate as the door closed behind them.
