Chapter 7: Mt. Moon.

Tommy sat on a couch at a Pokemon Center near Mt. Moon. He had battled several Trainers and had also managed to catch a few more Pokemon.

"Tommy, your Pokemon are all healed!" Nurse Joy called.

Tommy retrieved his Pokemon and headed into the caves of Mt. Moon.

Once there, Tommy discovered a whole horde of Rock Pokemon, but one of the Pokemon in particular stood out to him. It was a little pink Pokemon that had little wings on its back.

"What is that?" Tommy asked before he checked the PokeDex.

"Clefairy, the Fairy Pokemon. It is said to be very friendly. Though said to live in Mt. Moon, very few have ever been seen by humans."

"So, it's rare, huh? In that case..." Tommy said before he threw a PokeBall at it. It was caught almost instantly.

"All right!" Tommy said before he heard someone shouting.

"HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" a man dressed like a Super Nerd shouted as he ran over.

"What's wrong with you?!" Tommy asked.

"For your information, I was gonna catch that Clefairy!" the nerd said.

"Calm down. There are sure to be more around here." Tommy said.

"How about a battle and the winner gets to keep Clefairy and one of the fossils I found?" the nerd asked.

"Okay." Tommy said before he sent out Nidoran while the nerd sent out a Grimer.

"Grimer, Sludge Bomb!" the nerd said. Grimer shot a blot of sludge out of its mouth that Nidoran avoided with a Quick Attack. Nidoran then started to glow white before it changed shape. It could stand on its two hind legs and its ears were a bit bigger.

"Wow! It evolved!" Tommy said, having read about this phenomenon in his research.

"Nidorina, the Poison Pin Pokemon. The evolved formed of a female Nidoran, this Pokemon has a calm and caring nature. It often prefers not to battle due to the growth of its horn."

Nidorina then launched onto Grimer and shot a beam of orange energy out of its mouth that sent Grimer flying.

"Woah! What the heck was that?" Tommy asked.

"Impressive! Your Nidorina knows how to use Hyper Beam!" said the Super Nerd before Grimer landed in front of him, knocked out.

"All right!" Tommy said.

The nerd recalled Grimer before he walked over and shook Tommy's hand, "Very good. I apologize for my outburst before. I really shouldn't have asked you to surrender Clefairy. You did catch it fair and square, so it rightfully belongs to you. Now, pick which fossil you'd like." he said. Tommy looked at the fossils and saw that one looked like a spiral shell, while the other looked like a sea shell.

"That one." Tommy said, pointing at the seashell one.

A few hours later, Tommy came close to the exit to Mt. Moon, when he heard a voice behind him.

"Stop, twerp!" Tommy turned around and saw Team Rocket headed his way.

"Is it true you have a fossil found here in Mt. Moon?" asked Jessie.

"So what if I do? You won't get it!" Tommy said.

"Okay, then, we'll take it! Go, Arbok!" Jessie said, releasing Arbok.

"Pidgey, go!" Tommy said, releasing Pidgey.

"Arbok, chew that little bird up and spit it out!" Jessie ordered. Arbok launched itself at Pidgey with a Bite attack, only for Pidgey to dodge and hit with a Quick Attack.

"Weezing, Sludge!" James said as Weezing shot a blot of sludge from its mouth that Pidgey avoided.

"All right, if you use two Pokemon, I don't see why I can't!" Tommy said before he sent out Zubat.

"Arbok, Poison Sting!" Jessie ordered.

"Weezing, Smokescreen!" James ordered. Both Pokemon launched their respective attacks.

"Pidgey, Zubat, Gust!" Tommy ordered. Both Pokemon flapped their wings at a high rate of speed, blowing both attacks back at Team Rocket.

"Now you have to go against me!" Meowth said.

"Pikachu, GO!" Tommy called as he sent out the iconic Pokemon.

"Fury Swipes!" Meowth said, leaping into the air with his claws raised.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Tommy said.

"PikaCHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu shouted as it released a powerful surge of electricity that shocked Meowth and sent him flying back into Team Rocket, causing an explosion that sent Team Rocket flying out of the roof of the cave.

"Team Rocket's Blasting Off Again!" they shouted.

DING!

"Man, will those guys never learn their lesson?" Tommy asked before he recalled his Pokemon and progressed.
