Chapter 3: Relics/ Artifacts:

This page contains all the relics/ artifacts/ magical objects that have made their appearance in the story.

They are as follows:

Name: The Ankh of Thoth.

AKA: The Eyes of Truth, Elizabeth Bathory's eyes.

Type: Eyes.

Summary: It is unknown how the eyes came in the possession of Elizabeth Bathory, but they are able to see through all falsities and expose the truth of the world.

Ability: To see all Truth of Creation.

Holders:

Elizabeth Bathory (previous)

Elaine Le Fay (current)

Name: The Joyeuse.

AKA: The Blade of Dreams, The Blade of Illusions, The Blade of Judgment.

Type: Divine Sword.

Summary:

A ceremonial blade once in possession of Archangel Uriel, it was originally used for the purpose of revealing the seven deadly sins.

This was the blade that was used to carve the seven marks upon the forehead of Dante Algieri as he wished to ascend the hills of Purgatory.

The marks would only be removed once Dante absolved the sin the mark corresponded to.

Although the sword boasts a truly intimidating appearance, most of its weight is concentrated on its tip, allowing anyone with some semblance of skill to wield it freely. The blade also houses an immense amount of magical powers.

However, this isn't where the true nature of the Joyeuse lies.

The so-called "Sword of Seven-Deadly Sins" displays its frightening potential by granting the wielder the ability to summon beastly manifestation of each deadly sin.

Not to mention that the divine blade is capable of holding its own against even the most powerful of weapons, and is almost indestructible.

Myths state that it was given to Charlemagne by the archangel to voice its approval of his actions.

A part of the French treasury, it was lost when the Ahathoor temple claimed Paris.

It was re-found when the guardian of the Vilnius Temple: Elizabeth Bathory fell having wielded it in battle against the crusaders.

Ability:

It is a divine blade said to be wielded by Archangel Uriel itself. As such, it possesses the various abilities relating to the aspect of Divine Punishment:

Inflict deadly sins: The cuts made from Joyeuse don't heal unless its wielder wishes it to be. This is because it brands "sins" upon its wounds, and will perpetually ooze blood until the said "sin" is repented.

Illusion Manipulation: It can manifest illusory manifestations of the seven-deadly sins: the seven beasts.

Indestructible: Much like an original grimoire, it is indestructible.

Vast Magical Powers: It houses an almost limitless reservoir of mana within its blade.

Holders: Archangel Uriel (original)

Charlemagne (former)

Elizabeth Bathory (former)

Noah (temporarily)

Kamijou Touma (present)

Name: Sheol of Gehenna.

AKA: The "Door-bolt" of Hell.

Type: Doorbolt.

Summary:

When the Trumpet of Gabriel sounds, it is the steel bolt Archangel Uriel is said to hurl at the ground, thus splitting the Earth to mark the advent of the Judgment Day.

Although, it can hardly be classified as a tool for combat, it has some serious battle applications.

While it is usually used as a whole, it can also be wielded as "fragments."

With each fragment capable of giving a ranked saint considerable difficulty, the archangel is capable of launching thousands of these all at once at post-relativistic speeds.

In addition, these "fragments" don't stop at merely hitting their target, for they continue to move and function endlessly until either their target is decimated or the archangel itself perishes.

Ability:

It is an incredibly powerful weapon that is capable of tanking blows from Touma's Shatterer of Illusions. Hence, it possesses:

Transcendent Strength: It is able to withstand multiple blows from the Shatterer and is capable of shaking the world itself with its swings.

St. David's Covenant: This is its ultimate ability. The Sheol shatters into numerous pieces that shoot out like bullets at their target at light-speed. With each fragment containing enough power to decimate a ranked Saint, it is the personification of the covenant St. David made with the Cumean Oracle to give Christianity the dominion over the known world.

Holders: Archangel Uriel (original)

Noah (former)

Status: Destroyed or Lost.

Name: The Rusted Blade.

AKA: The Nameless blade.

Type: Divine blade.

Summary: It is the personal weapon of the angel, Abdiel, and is supposed to have the power/ attributes of a divine weapon.

Ability: Unknown.

Holders: Abdiel (original)

: Kuznetsova Marina (last owner)

Status: Destroyed or Lost.

Name: The Records of Akasha.

AKA: Akashic Records. The Tome that contains all Knowledge of the World.

Type: Book.

Summary:

As the book penned and possessed by the various Oracles of Akasha, it contains all knowledge in the cosmos.

It is divided into two parts: the Codes Mortales— the book which contains all knowledge attainable and attained by humanity/ mortals, and the Codex Futures— the book that contains all knowledge beyond that.

Ability:

As a book penned by the Oracles themselves, the book possesses remarkable powers. These are:

Omniscience: Complete comprehension of the book makes one omniscient. Yet this ability is limited to its Oracle alone.

Causality-warping: In the hands of its Oracle, it can be used to manipulate Akasha into rewriting the very "laws" of causality itself.

Complete Indestructibility: It is the reason for Oracles to exist, and as such cannot be destroyed as long as one exists.

Holder: Oracles of Akasha (currently Nika Kurylenko), temporarily loaned to Azura.

Name: Liber Al Vel Legis (book)

AKA: The Ultimate Grimoire.

Type: Book (grimoire)

Summary:

The book penned by Aleister Crowley containing the knowledge of Aiwass.

Also serving as the foundation of Thelema, the Book of the Law is the ultimate grimoire rumored to bring an end to the Religion of the Cross [Christianity].

Whether this means transition to the next aeon or simply the destruction of SYSTEM remains to be seen.

Either way, since it contains Rahab's knowledge, it should be presumed to contain information regarding the manipulation of the Qlippothic Abyss and creation of new "artificial" Trees to govern parts of it.

Ability: It is an Original grimoire, and as such it possesses:

Indestructibility: It is indestructible to anyone below the Secret Chiefs and can only be sealed away.

Forbidden Knowledge: As an original grimoire, it contains knowledge that can corrupt minds. In the case of the Book of the Law, this knowledge is said to be able to cause the downfall of Christianity.

Holder: Self-Aware.

Name: Death Scythe.

AKA: Blade of Death and Poison.

Type: Cursed Scythe.

Summary:

It is a scythe in the possession of Liber Al Vel Legis.

Made from the crystalized Eitr and steeped with the deadly poison—Halahala, it is a scythe said to have doomed many a titan and a god.

Originally, it didn't have a name, but Liber Al Vel Legis seems to call it her "Death Scythe"— a name that matches its prowess anyway.

Definitely not a wieldy weapon, the grimoire still thinks it fits her image as a harbinger of death and destruction.

It is unknown whether it is the real scythe or merely an imitation that Liber Al Vel Legis created using her magic, but it is undeniable its power has been weathered down for some reason.

In the hands of the grimoire, it can manipulate serpents as well.

On its handle there are two serpents: one made of fire and the other made of bronze.

Ability:

As a weapon originally capable of reaping gods and titans, the Death Scythe has the following powers:

The Twin Serpents: They are the manifestations of the fiery serpent that God sent to punish Israel and the bronze one that stood in his defense. As they are made in the image of angels, they are resistant to most attacks from "Saints" who are supposed to be below them in the celestial hierarchy.

Poison Manipulation: It can manipulate all sorts of poison.

Dominion over Poisonous Beasts: It can give its wielder dominion over all poisonous beasts like basilisks or snakes.

Holder: Liber Al Vel Legis (avatar)

Name: Muramasa.

AKA: The Demonic Sword of Execution, the Life-taking Sword, Twin of Masamune.

Type: Cursed Sword.

Summary:

Often called the Viscious Demon, Muramasa was one of the three legendary swords owned by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.

It was forged by the deranged blacksmith— Muramasa Sengo to oppose his rival— Masamune Gyoro.

Tested by simply holding its blade against a river stream, not even a single drifting leaf could escape the blade of Muramasa.

They were all cut, having been pulled towards the blade's edge by the sword's own will.

Hence its name as the Life-taking sword.

In combat, a single graze of it can spell instant death.

After it was blessed by Telecvovim— [the God of Death], it has become a solid crystallization of "death energy."

As such, this executioner's blade is now one of the only mortal weapons capable of reaping even immortal gods like the Secret Chiefs.

Ability: Vast magical powers: Its steel contains vast magical powers.

Instant death: Even a slight graze from it can inflict instant death upon its enemies. This list originally included only mortals, but the blessing from Telecvovim has caused it to include immortals as well.

Holder: Sengo Muramasa (maker)

Kanzaki Kaori (current)

Name: Masamune.

AKA: The Demonic Sword of Retribution, the Life-giving Sword, Twin of Muramasa.

Type: Cursed Weapon.

Summary:

Masamune was called the Gentle Demon, and was one of the three legendary swords owned by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.

It was forged by the master blacksmith— Masamune Gyoro in a contest of skills against his fellow mad smith/ rival— Muramasa.

When tested by simply holding its blade against a flowing river stream, not even a single floating leaf was cut by Masamune.

They were all pushed away from the blade's edge by the sword's own will.

Hence its name as the Life-giving sword.

It takes various forms and its abilities change depending upon its wielder.

In the hands of Kanzaki Kaori, it takes the form of a revolver and its primary ability is not to lethally wound foes, but rather to bind them in place with bullets imbued with the essence of Christ's "crucifixion."

Originally capable of "binding" only mortals, the blessing of Telecvovim has made this weapon capable of "crucifying" Secret Chiefs as well.

Ability: Vast magical powers: It houses vast magical energy reserves.

Form/ Ability Transformation: It changes its form and abilities from wielder to wielder. Although once transformed, that form is permanent for that specific wielder. It takes the form of a revolver for Kanzaki.

Power to "bind" anyone: In Kaori's hands, Masamune gains the power to bind anyone via "crucifixion." Originally made to be used against mortals, it is now capable of binding immortals as well after being blessed by Telecvovim.

Holder: Goro Nyudo Masamune (maker)

Kanzaki Kaori (current)

Name: The Devil's Pitchfork.

AKA: The Trident of Impossibility.

Summary:

Sporting a completely incomprehensible shape, it manifests as a weapon made from crystalized light all the while covered in dark shadowy glyphs.

Resembling a pitchfork or a trident, the number of blades at its tip fluctuate constantly, its number ranging anywhere between zero and infinity.

What number it changes to isn't driven by any particular rule— it is entirely random.

This is because as the personal weapon of Telecvovim, it is the physical manifestation of the current aeon and embodies the various ambiguous laws governing his sephira.

Ability:

It is the very manifestation of the rule of Assiah (Malkuth) and signifies the current aeon.

Judgment Day: It is an attack that combines multiple contradictory phases into one to launch a universe-obliterating Armaggeddon. In terms of effect and appearance, it is almost no different than a Big Bang. Depending upon the number of phases it consumes, its attack potency can be regulated from the destruction of a single world or to cause a mandala-spanning catastrophe.

Indestructibility: As the personal weapon of Telecvovim, as long as he exists, it is indestructible even to other Secret Chiefs.

Holder:

Can only be wielded by Telecvovim— the God of Death.

Name: Durandal.

AKA: The Cursed-Divine Blade.

Type: Divine Sword.

Summary:

As the weapon of choice of Archangel Gabriel, it is one of the most powerful divine blades.

It has the ability to perma-kill opponents irrespective of their power.

It also has the attribute of never-missing its intended target.

Upon Roland's death, when the original was said to have been "swallowed" by earth, a replica was made.

However, despite being a replica, it, too, ended up being a very special sword.

Forged from blood, bone and other body parts of fallen Saints, the Durandal Replica (now known as Durandal) ended up being a conduit for channeling the geographical power of where it was made.

Wielded by the Madame of Versailles, this blade is kept under heavy lock-and-key in the deepest parts of the Versailles Museum.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the original was unknown, but it has recently resurfaced in the possession of Seth.

This might indicate some Roman Catholic Church's involvement in its initial disappearance.

Ability: Vast magical powers: Both blades possess vast magical powers.

Permanent death: The original can one-shot supernatural beings like Magic Gods. Those killed by the blade cannot be resurrected even by reversal of causality.

Geographical Conduction: The replica can channel all the geographical power of where it was made, i.e France.

Indestructible: As one of the divine blades, it is indestructible and is capable of restoring all damages inflicted upon it.

Holder: Archangel Gabriel (original)

Charlemagne (former)

Paladin Roland (last wielder)

Madame of Versailles (current owner of replica)

Seth (last owner)

Status: Discarded.

Name: Hauteclere.

AKA: The Wisdom Sword.

Type: Sentient Sword.

Summary:

As a sword wielded by Paladin Olivier de Vienne, closest friend and brother-in-law of Paladin Roland, it is said to have inherited Olivier's wisdom and instincts upon his death.

As such, it has turned into a blade that can instinctively read into the future.

It is also the result of the silent envy Olivier held towards Roland and his peerless Durandal.

Ability:

Hauteclere is a sentient sword. It possesses the wisdom of the brilliant strategist— Olivier aka the Wise. It has also inherited his sage-like intellect and sharp battle instincts.

Future Reading: Hauteclere is able to calculate all possible future possibilities of a situation and counter them in advance.

Holder: Paladin Olivier de Vienna (Original)

Archbishop Laura (former)

Kanzaki Kaori (temporarily)

Name: Aqua Vitae.

AKA: The Fountain of Youth, the Elixir of Life, the Aether.

Type: Ether.

Summary:

The pinnacle of alchemical pursuits, Aqua Vitae is the crystallization of the non-existent ether that makes up the world.

Also called "Luminiferous Ether," Aqua Vitae can transform into any object imaginable.

It is now installed in St. Maurice to act as a grocery store.

Ability: Can become anything.

Place: At Fiamma's behest, the Alchemist's Association installed in St. Maurice to test its effectiveness.

Name: The Nocturne.

AKA: Das Schwert Ver Zunkunft (The Sword of Future), the world's first nightblade.

Type: Sentient Sword.

Summary:

A prototype for something else, it was considered a failed product by its maker.

Considered worthy of discarding, the weapon was given by him to a denizen from another world named Solon Ehrenstein.

Solon uses this sword dutifully to augment his skills as a master swordsman.

A longsword-saber hybrid that is almost four meters in length, its blade alone reaches a staggering 350 cm.

As such it is entirely too long and too heavy for an average joe to wield.

It is not an old weapon, in truth, it is the result of cutting-edge technology devised in far-future, as it is made from still-an-unknown kind of metal from higher-dimensions.

As it would be impossible to pull it out of its sheath due to the limited reach of the human arms, it has been devised so its sheath can split apart, open and close at its wielder's will.

There are symbols on the blade that act as sensors for its automatic tracking system. This allows it to pursue and rend hostiles even in the hands of a complete amateur.

For Solon Ehrenstein, it was just a useless gimmick that did more harm than good.

Ability:

As a weapon of the future, it possesses many powers:

Homing-system: It possesses an automatic tracking system.

Conduit for magical powers: It can help its wielder by amplifying and conducting their magical powers.

Fate-Alteration: In Solon's hands, the Nocturne can alter fate of all cut by it irrespective of their power.

Wielder: Unknown maker, Solon Ehrenstein (current owner)
