Chapter XIII
September 2017
New Terra
"B-but Mum...!" Eadaemar complained as Daphne smiled as she kissed his cheek while carrying his little sister Juniper to her right hip, as the two-year-old giggled and blew him cheeky little kisses. He was thirteen years old, two years older than he had been when he was adopted by his human-Tau'ri parents, Harry and Daphne Evans. He enjoyed having a family again, and loved his little sister to bits as she was so adorable.
"Eddie!" Daphne reprimanded, using his Tau'ri nickname with a sweet smile as she gave him a hug as it was the new school year; he was starting his new school with some friends from his previous school and many new kinds from all over the planet and galaxy and further. It was a surprise that there wasn't much if any racism from the Tau'ri especially since they were the majority. It was obviously some kind of mother tradition thing to embarrass their kids while taking them to school as he saw some of his Tau'ri, or other human, and non-human friends in similar situations.
He smiled at his mother and kissed her cheek anyway, which made her happy, and little June put out her arms for a hug and he obliged her and kissed her cheek too before running off waving, and meeting his best friend, Kyle.
"Hey man!" Kyle said with a grin. He was a human boy with short ruffled blonde hair. Terra wasn't massively populated by non-humans, or non-Tau'ri, but they had enough so that the planet had a vast off-world network, not mentioning the progress because of the Stargates. Many planets through several galaxies now traded with Terra and the Tau'ri. Asgard were the biggest presence on terra as many of their people were still adapting to new bodies, and being a new race, neo-Asgard, as his dad would say.
"Liking mommy's kisses!" his friend playfully mocked.
Eadaemar snorted, rolling his eyes as he brushed down his black and green school uniform. "Like your mum wasn't all over you, first day and all since they relocated our school. It isn't like this is a magical school where they board more than the week days or something! We'll get to go home weekends and holidays, and we had all of our stuff sent and everything by teleports," he said, laughing.
Kyle's pale cheeks darkened red. "Yeah, but your mum is freaking hot, my mum isn't!"
Ed, (the nickname he preferred, as it was more adult), glared at his friend. "Shut up man, that is MY mum you're being rude about, and my dad would so kick your dads arse!"
"Your dad has like super-magic!" he retorted as they entered their private school for gifted kids in the City Ship Atlantis within San Francesco harbour. It had been decommissioned the year before, shortly after it landed after a huge deal with some robot bugs, and though it still had weapon capability, and could fly if the need arose they chose to use it for other thing, mainly because of those reasons.
Atlantis now had a school for smart children to encourage them, and housed the SGC Academy, and the soon to be commissioned Star Force Academy, along with a super-sized shopping mall, and housing for SGC and Star Force personnel with the new SGC and Star Force headquarters within the main sectors of the city with several new stargates.
"Yeah, and my dad's super-cool too!" Ed agreed with a smug smirk on his darker blue lips, as they entered the assembly hall as teachers had been leading them, and they took seats together.
"Okay, just because my dad is ambassador from new Tolla and kind of boring," he said, pouting. Their race was nearly extinct. It was probably the reason they got along as well as they had that in common, and wanted to get even. Kyle wasn't his tollan name, well it was, just spelt a lot different, and they were rebuilding on a new world. "And just because your dad is the ambassador to terra, not to mention admiral in Star Force, General in the SGC, and owner of EvansCorp, does not automatically make him coolest dad ever!"
"He's really cute too," interrupted their elfin friend; the beautiful blonde girl, Ulayriet as she slumped down in a seat behind them, giggling with her brown-haired human-Tau'ri best friend Megan as she sat next to her.
"Uul...!" Kyle complained while the two girls giggled, and high fived. "Neither of you two needs to diss me as well."
"Yes, you do, remember who the coolest dad is!" Ed said, snickering. "I could get you tickets to the launce of the Star Force Warship Nexus, or Battleship Hercules!" he suggested wiggling his eyebrows suggestively
"Cheater...!" Kyle said, pouting while the girls giggled and nodded their heads eagerly. "I get Uul!" he muttered too quiet for the girls to hear.
"Good," Ed said, smirking, "because Megan is totally cute, and always eying me up!"
"Did you boys say something?" Megan asked suspiciously.
"No," they both replied quickly, blushing pink and sky blue as neither girl believed them as their centaur head teacher stood up front to get everyone's attention.
"Good morning children, and welcome to a new year, and hopefully you will cherish the new school as it is a wonder of ancient science."
"Good Morning, Miss. Heversmiff!" they quickly replied in a drove as she paused for their reply as she was new and had written her name on the holo-screen behind her for them to see. She was young and smiled at the students of the school, from mixed races, to humans from all over the galaxy.
Meanwhile Daphne was in good spirits as she walked back to the car and placed her baby girl in the car seat while her driver waited. Her driver was a young woman, which annoyed Daphne a little as she had taken her driving test and failed, so she was waiting to try again. She slid in beside her giggling daughter, worrying about her adopted son. She had never believed that she would adopt, let alone a non-human.
Harry had brought him home and she fell in love. She never thought she would have mothering instincts. However, she did. It was amazing, and helped to calm her while she was pregnant with Juniper. Even though her sister thought she was crazy adopting an eleven-year-old alien boy, even she liked to spoil him, and June.
She shook her head clear as they drove over the newly complete bridge from Atlantis into San Francisco where her sister waited for her. Astoria had been with them before, and she had something to ask, but couldn't do that with Eddy in the car as it seemed to be something highly embarrassing, so she hopped out to do a bit of shopping.
They pulled over when calling Astoria, and finding out where she was. She climbed in and hadn't bought anything but a packet of fruit for June to snack on, which she greatly appreciated as she hugged her aunt in thanks.
"Daph," Astoria said after a few minutes of driving in silence. "I want a kid of my own," she said, and Daphne smiled as that was good news. Ever since Lucius Malfoy had been arrested and put in jail for the crimes he admitted too, Draco had been given sole custody of the Malfoy riches, and was generous with them, and with his job they could both afford to have a child.
"Well, congratulations," Daphne said, hugging her little sister.
"Draco is infertile!" she replied, bringing the mood down. "We plan to adopt some boys, well a couple of tollan brothers; they're three and five, so they're still young enough that they can bring themselves to believe that they are Tau'ri over time, which will be easier on them. But I still feel like I want the experience of child birth and everything. I know it looked painful when I was with you, but I don't know, I just want that too, you know, which is why I wanted to talk with you. I wanted to know whether... well, Draco said it was okay, if you're okay, so I want to borrow, Harry!"
"You want my husband to get you pregnant?" Daphne asked, amused with a delicate blonde eyebrow raised.
"Come on Daphne, don't be stingy!" Astoria begged her big sister.
Daphne sighed as she thought about it. "Well, why Harry?"
"Well, Draco doesn't have any friends... well, magical friends, and he wants to make sure we have at least one kid in Hogwarts," she said while slumping back in her seat. "The only person he trusts and remotely likes is Harry, and they get on well. Draco had never had a best friend before, like me before I realised that the Weasley and Lovegood girls were pretty cool, even though they are doing it with each other."
Daphne rubbed her eyes. "Tori," she complained slightly before smiling a little. "Well, I'll talk to Harry about it later. He's on the Hercules preparing for its launce next week, so I'll ask him what he thinks. You are still adopting the boys?"
"Of course!" she readily agreed. "Draco has already taken them out to visit his office, and to that Tandora resort and amusement planet for the day... well, I went with them to Tandora, but still, I think he has gotten quite attached."
"Good, there are so many children in the galaxy who need good parents like you," Daphne said, proud of her sister.
On-board the Battleship Hercules, Harry had slumped down on the captains' chair on the bridge with a weird feeling, but shrugged it off as he began some tests while Sam and his mum sat at the helm and navigation respectively.
"Okay, ladies, comm. check!" he commanded and Lily did what was said, while trying not to complain as she was bored and could have been with Daphne taking her grandson to his new school, and lavishing him with attention.
"Everything is looking good, Sir!" Sam agreed with a nod, "all internal and external communication systems are green, and we have an incoming signal, Sir, it's on an emergency SGC band," she said as she patched it through on screen to show Colonel Sheppard of the SGC.
"Colonel?" Harry asked, straight to the point as he could see they were in a firefight.
"Sir!" he greeted over the comm., "I was assigned some monitoring duty with regards to the terrorist organisation, the Order of the Phoenix!" he said, diving away from a huge blast before firing his energy riffle. "We followed Dumbledore and a small group meeting with Death Eaters and Voldemort. They left Hogwarts and command believed we could take it from them while the boss was away. My team stayed to watch what was going on. They somehow discovered what we were up to and attacked. It looks like the Order and Eaters have joined forces, and this has been in the works for a while now! Reinforcements would be nice as we're spread out over Hogwarts and Hogsmead, fighting, we're holding for now, but we're heavily outnumbered, and outflanked."
"Reinforcements are on route!" Harry agreed as he typed away and sent orders. "Hold the line Sheppard!" he finished before the line went dead.
"We didn't expect them to move this quickly!" Sam said while frowning. "What could they possibly hope to achieve from any of this? It's much too late to go back to the way things were for them!"
"They're frightened of change!" Lily said sadly. "Even now they cannot see that nothing has happened to their kind, and that they are free. They cannot stand the thought that many Tau'ri species are not in fact from this planet, especially their ancestors. It likely irks them more that goblins and other races have so freely accepted that they have home worlds other than earth.
"But Harry, what about, Bella?" she asked with a dusting of pink to her cheeks.
He smiled. "The soldiers have been ordered that she is to be captured alive, unless it is unavoidable! If she is under influence, we'll flush her clean, I promise," he said which made her sigh, looking less fearful.
Terry Evans dodged a blast of light aimed for him. He still couldn't believe that he had betrayed the magical world and changed sides. His fiancé, Hermione was by his side. They were dressed in muggle military black. They held their wooden wands as they were confronted by Ronald Weasley and James Potter, and they aimed at each other.
"Hello, Ron!" Terry said coolly. "Potter!" he added, spitting out the name in hate. "If you both surrender now, you won't potentially die!" he commanded coldly.
"You should be the one surrendering to us!" Ronald spat out hateful, and smugly. "As soon as we've defeated you we'll have you all in Azkaban!"
"You really don't get it do you!?" Hermione asked rhetorically. "You've already lost; you're outnumbered-."
"Don't talk stupid!" James growled out. "We outnumber you-!" he said but stopped abruptly when flashes of white light blazed all over the school grounds and soldiers were left in their wake. Giants and trolls had been called to fight for the light and dark and they were getting mowed down when black fighter jets streaked overhead, chopping them up with energy cannons.
"What were you saying!?" Terry asked smugly. "Harry did it! Harry did what Dumbledore desperately tried to stop. Harry changed the world… no, he changed the galaxy! And in his desperation, Dumbledore pushed Harry into doing it! Dumbledore showed Harry the pain of being 'inferior', and Harry made the world one more step closer to being equal, and with each push, Harry did amazing things! I was too stupid to see the truth then, but Hermione helped me see the truth, and I now stand, wide awake!"
"You traitor!" Ron screamed as he fired, "Avada Kedavra!" he roared out in rage, shooting the emerald coloured curse of death. "Filthy little blood traitor and mudblood! I should have had your sister, and everything would have been perfect! She should have belonged to me like your mum should belong to James!"
Terry clenched his teeth, "bastard racist!" he screamed out, "I should have listened to everyone around me, you are no good! You will never go near my sister!" he hissed as he lit up in a blink of white light in a brief flash of righteous anger, and smacked the killing curse away, straight into an approaching troll, killing it instantly and blasting Potter and Weasley down, and disarming them in one move.
The light was like a ripple of air, and water, and there for only a moment. James and Ron stared up at him in terror as he and Hermione used their wands to bind them in summoned chains. They struggled and screamed, but it was no use, they would never get free from the magic. Terry had done what he thought he was incapable, and summoned a brief spark of these Light Hawk Wings his brother told them about, and its power was nearly overwhelming in its purity.
"You both make me sick!" Hermione muttered, disgusted as they turned their backs on them and walked away while some more soldiers rushed to them, using transporter beacons they were teleported in a flash of white and taken away for trial and incarceration.
Meanwhile a battalion of muggle-born mage had Voldemort and Dumbledore pinned down against the castle in an impossible battle. In a stroke of luck a few muggle-borns had managed to capture Bellatrix Black and they had her sent on to hospital for exams.
It was odd seeing Voldemort and Dumbledore fighting side by side, agreeing on something, and even more since the so-called 'light' wizard was using just as foul magic, screaming in his anger, and rage at the 'mudbloods' about how he always looked after them, but they knew the truth now. He held them back, and made sure that they never had a chance to take over, or the world would have changed long ago. It was people like Dumbledore who held back progress because of their out dated and immoral beliefs.
The world had changed, and they couldn't stand it. Voldemort, they could understand. With the new order of the world he had no chance of ever conquering the magical world. How could he conquer a community that no longer existed? It raged him to realise that Harry Evans, the forgotten, mistreated Potter child had conquered the magical world, and then went further, to make contact with worlds beyond the earth, building a vast diplomatic empire beyond his imagining.
Magic as they knew it was coming to an end. Dumbledore still held hope that it could be stopped, but Voldemort prided himself on being a realist. He knew they held no hope of winning any longer. He saw the machines of the muggles. They were built to destroy. If he admitted to one things the muggles did well, it was building bigger and more powerful ways to kill.
Voldemort looked to his long-time adversary and shook his head in disgust. He had always believed that Dumbledore was a kind and gentle leader, but hearing him now. He realised the old man was a lying fraud who didn't like to lose control. Voldemort had never looked deep enough, but if he had, he would have seen Dumbledore's hand in everything. Dumbledore had been ruler of the magical UK, and it had taken the old man's fear of a child to wake the world up and to bring war.
The Dark Lord felt queasy. He looked back on his life and every which way he looked, Dumbledore was there. It all came back to that one old man. Was he the way he was because of Dumbledore? Could that be possible? Dumbledore needed someone strong to oppose, to continue being the beacon of hope rather than the barmy old man. Or maybe Dumbledore was afraid that Tom Riddle would see through him and become the better wizard. He didn't know, but he had problems within his orphanage before school, and Dumbledore didn't even try to help him, but let him get on with it, even blackmailing him into returning some pathetic items he stole off the other children because he had been jealous of them because he had nothing.
The fighting stopped, but it took him a few moments to realise he had stopped fighting shortly before that. He just remembered hearing Dumbledore screaming at him to keep fighting, and that they could undo everything. They couldn't undo anything, not even time, and for once, Voldemort: Tom Riddle wouldn't want too. He was tired, and he couldn't be bothered to fight like that any longer, not when his greatest enemy had only ever been Albus Dumbledore.
Tom Riddle was a half-blood! He pretended he was pure to protect himself, but instead he ruled fools, primitive fools because it was so east. They were stupid. He was bright. They were never truly loyal, but that was enough, he needed an army to destroy Dumbledore, and he lost his way. It had never been about mudbloods, but vengeance.
They were surrounded, and Tom looked down in a reflective pond next to where he stood. He had hair again and his features had changed back to a normal human. His eyes were a bright green, and he had his nose back; he had missed his nose, and his lips were normal. His hair was black and short cut, neatly combed how he liked it back at school, looking smart; he always liked being smart.
He looked up as the armed soldiers parted. His wand was to his side as he watched Terry Potter walking towards them with the muggle-born girl, Granger slightly behind him. Terry only glanced at Tom Riddle before his cold gaze hit Dumbledore.
"Professor Dumbledore, give it up!" Terry said as Tom's wand slid from his tired fingers and he let the soldiers' cuff his hands behind his back and retrieve his wand, but they didn't move to take him away just then. It seemed he got to witness Dumbledore's defeat, once and for all, after all this time, finally, Dumbledore would receive just punishment.
"Terry m'boy!" Dumbledore said with a strained smile and arms wide open in welcome. "This is all for the Greater Good of the wizarding world and wizard kind!"
"There is no such thing as wizards!" Terry said feeling some pity for the old man as he flinched at his cold tone, "we are the last remnants of the ancient alteran race before a shit load chose to evolve to ascension! We evolved too, becoming what we are today, masters, or more like novices of Zero Point Energy, but we can learn and the galaxy will learn, and together we can all do amazing things."
"You're a fool boy!" Dumbledore changed pitch in a moment. "You listen to that pathetic fool of a brother of yours!"
"My brother is a genius beyond your comprehension!" Terry said with a small grin, "and beyond mine even. Look around you as your people, dark and light are surrendering. You've finally lost Dumbledore and we're taking our freedom back! You are nothing but a foolish little terrorist that wants to oppress its people; a warlord, but Harry. He is the Lord of War, and says enough! All great empires will fall once they get too full of themselves, and as a people we should know as it has happened to us as a people time and time again, but now things are changing because we can give our powers away. If everyone is special, everyone is happy."
"You bastard!" Dumbledore roared out, waving his wand, the tip lit up green before he stopped with the sound of a zap and a red flash burnt into his chest.
Dumbledore puked up blood as they all turned to see Rosette Potter holding a black pistol in her right hand. She was standing next to a young woman who looked human, in bodily appearance. However, her eyes were slanted yellow, and her fingers were long with sharp looking finger nails. Her mouth had slight fangs. Her skin was tan and had red scales trailing up the sides over her elongated ears, white horns, flat and smooth curving around her ears, and long brown hair with a whip like tale, both girls were wearing blue military uniforms.
"Rosette!" the old man mumbled, stumbling as he grabbed his bloodied wound and looked up where the Battleship Spiritus hovered in the sky, low down, clouding them in its magnificent shadow, "come now girl… R-Ronald w-will make a-a-a lovely husband!" he choked out more blood coughing as his wand clattered to the sodden ground. He dropped to his knees while she walked closer, not missing a beat with her friend walking with her, unconcerned that her friend was holding a gun and looking highly dangerous.
"I chose my own fate, Dumbledore!" Rose said coldly while her gun touched his forehead. "I choose to be a doctor, so today I spare your life, but even doctors have the right to fight with everything they have for their survival, and that of their family and people!" she said before pulled the gun from his head and turning her back on him and walking away.
However, there was another buzz and flash as the unknown alien girl drew a gun and shot Dumbledore in the face as he had withdrawn a spare wand. It dropped to the floor with the old man and the green glow on the tip went out, and he was dead.
Rose didn't know how to feel watching as her tormentor finally died. He was dead, gone, no more, and there was nothing more he could do to anyone. They were finally free and relief seeped in through their veins, causing weak knees, but nothing felt too much different and they knew even without Dumbledore, life would go on as illegal magic broke all over magical people, loosing cohesion now that Dumbledore had lost his life.
"Freya, let's go home!" Rose said, taking her friends hand, she nodded and in a flash of white light they disappeared from the battlefield back onto their ship.
Terry chuckled slightly. "I never would have guessed Rosie would have ended him," he said with a relieved sigh. "Well, okay, technically Freya finished him, but she shot him in the chest first," he added as Hermione went to speak, but he knew her well enough and she hugged him, kissing his lips, and he greedily accepted her affection before she pulled back.
"So, I can send out wedding invites now?" Hermione asked eagerly while he nodded. "Awesome, and you're going to beg Harry to be your best man?" she asked, but he knew it was an order, as she knew that they should all mend the fences that Dumbledore broke.
"Of course, it isn't like I have anyone else I could ask," he said thoughtfully. "Well, I could ask Kalam, but that all seems so awkward, and I don't think his girlfriend likes me much, it will be bad enough if he agrees to come with her coming too, and, and, and, she's a freaking pri-!"
"Calm down or you're going to break!" Hermione said with a small grin. "Trust me, everything will work out well in the long run."
"Can you people please take me away already?" Tom demanded outraged. "I seriously don't want to watch them anymore than I already have. Seeing Dumbledore getting his just-deserts was enough for me!"
He sighed in relief as it was all over and they swished away in a flash of white light while the ship above started flying higher until it was out of sight, bursting through the clouds back into space, and for now, the world was at peace.
Harry yawned on-board the Hercules back in harbour dock. "Well that was kind of anticlimactic!" he commented with a shrug, "but then there is a whole universe of races we could piss off by outing their gods as the invaders they probably are, and a whole wealth of races we could ally ourselves with."
"Still, looking to the better future?" Sam asked with a grin.
Harry nodded, "always."
"I couldn't be prouder of the man you have come to be," Lily said with a loving smile, "through all odds, you defied them all and won!"
"I am awesome, aren't I!?"

Snape's Vacation
With Dumbledore dead, and Voldemort, now Tom again, and awaiting trial, Severus Snape was free to go wherever he wanted. He was a little annoyed he didn't get to gloat to Dumbledore and Voldemort that he worked for EvansCorp, but whatever, at least they were out of his way. He had considered leaving the earth and finding somewhere quiet to settle down on another planet, but that sounded boring when the earth was so busy, and so many new things were happening.
It seemed to him as if it would have been a waste not to stick around and watch the show, and being and agent of Evans's he got some pretty good front row seats. It was just a shame that his vast knowledge of plants (and potion skills) made him an ideal candidate to join the Warship/Science Vessel Nexus as head botanist.
Okay, so it was a front row seat, but the front row seat just happened to be in space, on stage. The ship had launched from Liverpool, and had a lot of fanfare. It wasn't too tacky or anything like that, and after Harry had left with his family, and his adopted sons school friends they left, breaching the atmosphere, being the rank of Lieutenant got him a bridge seat.
So, he had to admit that space, adventure, the unknown sounded quite appealing once in space and looking out at the Spiritus, Hercules, and several alien ships as they were a part of the construction of a space dock orbiting the earth was incredible.
"Nice view isn't it, Lieutenant Snape?"
He was startled and looked around to see the ship's captain was talking to him while smirking as he gestured out of the main windows towards the planet of his birth. He supposed he would miss his world, but for now. The Nexus was commissioned as a combat ready exploration ship, and it was heading out into the Andromeda Galaxy since it didn't seem to have many stargates if any.
"Very, Colonel Mitchell," he agreed.
"Call me Captain!" he replied with a grin as he gave a nod to the helm, and they suddenly hit hyperdrive and were gone in a flash of blue light and stars whizzing by through the external windows and monitors.
His fate had just changed, for the better he hoped.
