Chapter 1
Marinette's POV
I plopped on my bed and groaned. "My head…"
"Marinette? Are you okay?" Tikki asked.
"Yeah… Just a headache…"
"Well, when did it start?"
"Just now…"
"After you took Adrien home? Didn't the doctor say his cold was contagious?"
"Yeah, but I mean, I only wanted to help hi-" I was interrupted by coughing. "Yeah. Maybe I caught his cold. Whatever. I have to go to school, tomorrow. Plus, maybe it'll be gone by then…" I went to sleep.
Tikki's POV
I was worried for Marinette. I thought about when I was sick. I hated it. So I decided to do everything in my power to help her.
The next day she was worse. She looked just like Adrien did when we saw him in class the other day. She was coughing a lot, too. I suggested she stay home today, but she insisted she go to school.
Obviously I tried to protest, but I couldn't do anything. I tried to tell her it was for her own good, but she didn't listen!
"What about Ladybug? What if something bad happens to you and you can't be Ladybug? Then what?"
"Nothing bad is going to happen to Ladybug, Tikki. I'll be fine."
"But Marinette-"
"Tikki, will you stop?"
"Marinette, it's for your well-being!"
Marinette's POV
Tikki was pushing me really hard. I just wanted her to stop!
"Tikki, stop!"
"Marinette, you need to stay home!"
The more she argued, the worse my headache got.
"Tikki…"
"You need to get better!"
I winced in pain. "Stop…"
"Stay home."
I couldn't take it anymore.
"ARGH! TIKKI STOP! YOU'RE NOT LISTENING! I'LL BE FINE!" I resisted the urge to sneeze. Sneezing will encourage her to keep going. I looked up to see the little creature frightened. Then, I realized what I had just done. "Oh, Tikki, I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." I held Tikki in my hands.
"It's just… It was giving me a headache, and, I guess I couldn't handle it… I didn't mean it…"
"You mean you will stay?"
"No, but I have a deal."
"Huh?"
"If I promise to take it easy, will you let me go to school?"
"I guess…"
"Alright, let's get ready!" I got dressed.
I was headed off to school, when I got the urge to sneeze again. This time there was no reason to hold it back, so I let it go. It felt so satisfying.
Adrien was better today. I expected everyone to crowd him when he came in, but they didn't.
I looked at the news and couldn't believe it! Nadja risked all of her fans, just to say it was fake! And Alya didn't even post the video onto her Ladyblog!
My excitement was interrupted by another sneeze. Alya looked at me with concern.
"You okay, girl?"
"Yeah… Just caught Adrien's cold. I'm okay, though."
"You should be at home resting."
"It's okay. I already made a promise to take it easy, today. Besides, it's not that- Ahchoo!" I was starting to get annoyed at these sneezes, not satisfied. "It's not that bad."
