United earth republic chapter 17
hell it has been months. i'm sorry guys i really lost inspiration for this one. but thank the music for inspiring me again. i want to say sorry for this story's absence. but a lot has happened in my live that required my imitate attention. resulting in almost no time to write. earlier this year my great grandmother passed away. and then more shit happened. anyway i hope i can start updating more regularly now. although i wouldn't count on it. you never know what shit live throws at you. but as long as you believe that it can be beaten and don't give up. you can make it. anyway enough of my rambeling enjoy the story.
Two weeks had past sins the meeting with the pope. And Ahsoka sat in the garden sipping at a warm cup of tea. She looked as the first leafs started to fall from the tree's she was home alone today. Raoul's parent had a business meeting. Duncan and Alesandro were still in class and Raoul himself was also still at school finishing some project. She told him to start on it earlier but he didn't listen. She remembered scolding him about it. But hey it's his own fault. She was surprised though that they allowed her to be in their home with no one around. Even hiro wasn't there. Her mind went back to earlier this day.

'' I'm home!'' she shouted though the house. She waked to the kitchen and saw Sietske packing in. she took a drink. Before Sietske noticed here '' oh hey Ahsoka. How was school?'' Ahsoka shrugged. '' the usual. Raoul is still on school. He needed to finish a project.'' Ahsoka looked at the packed bags. '' where are you going?'' Sietske looked up. '' oh me and Erik have a business trip we'll be back tomorrow evening.'' Ahsoka nodded so she and Raoul would be alone with the kids. Should be fun. '' okay so when will you guys leave?''
Sietske finished packing in and looked on the watch. '' Erik is getting the car so in about 5 minutes or something. '' Ahsoka blinked. Wait a minute that...'' but that leaves me completely alone for at least a couple of hours!'' '' yea so?'' Ahsoka was speechless for a moment ''but I-I'm a guest. Is it normal to leave your guest home alone?'' Sietske began to laugh and placed a hand on her shoulder '' Ahsoka you've been living with us now for at least 3 months. Your part of the family by now. And what type of family would we be if we didn't trust you alone in our home. ''
Ahsoka's eyes began to water. She didn't know how to respond. They trusted her? They really trusted her? She couldn't detect any lie so they must be talking the truth. '' hey Ahsoka? Are you alright?'' Ahsoka nodded. '' yes I-It's just a surprise. I mean I don't even trust myself so why should you? Yet still you do. Why?'' Sietske smiled. And placed a hand on Ahsoka's shoulder '' because we can see you for who you are Ahsoka. We learned to see past your though girl act. We can see the kind hearted person that you are. And we know that mentally you're still a broken mess. But that's okay. Your still a child no one expects you to conquer this overnight. Neither do you need to fight this alone. Where all here for you. I know it's hard for you Ahsoka. But please trust us when we say that you can let your guard down here. ''
Ahsoka no longer knew what to do. She completely broke down '' I-I try. I really do it's just so hard. It isn't that I don't want to let my guard down. It just that I can't. Not after…'' '' after what Ahsoka?'' Ahsoka wanted to say it. She wanted to say what was bothering her. She wanted to scream it out. '' after… a-after what… NO! I-I can't I'm sorry.'' Ahsoka ran to her room crying hysterically. She crashed down hugging the pillow. Tears streamed down her mascara was ruined and so was she pillow. They weren't just tears of pain. No they were also tears of anger. Anger to the council. Anger to tarkin for what he did. And mostly anger to herself for not being able to tell what's bothering her.
She heard the door open. '' someone sat down on the bed and started to stroke her back. '' as I said Ahsoka. It's hard. And I'm not surprised that you can't tell yet. But that's okay. You've been through more than enough already. Just know that when things are too painful you can always ask any of us for help. You're my daughter now. And it'll be my duty to take care of you. Okay? '' Ahsoka nodded her head. '' good. Now I really have to go Ahsoka. I'm sure Raoul will be here soon. Just use this silence to think on what I just said. It might take a while but everything will be fine eventually.'' Sietske gave a kiss on Ahsoka's cheek. '' see you tomorrow sweetheart.'' '' see you tomorrow Ahsoka. Have fun!'' Said a deep male voice.
And with that Ahsoka was left alone. Alone in... Her home? Was it really here home? It didn't matter much. But she did have a lot to reflect on now. She got up from her bed and looked out of the window. She could see the car drive away she sat down on the floor and meditate.

Raoul sat behind the pc. He sighed if only he had listened. And worked on his school work instead of his advanced f 22. Suddenly he received a message on his phone. He sighed well he was almost done anyway. Better check what it was. '' hey Raoul. It's me, mom. Your dad and I had a debate. Seeing how Ahsoka trust you the most. I think it's time to allow her access to the underground labs and we want you to give it to her... Well back tomorrow night. Have fun. Hehe. O and if things happen go with the flow… bye bye! Oh PS she's pretty upset when we left few hours ago. Please check on her.'' Raoul frown. He certainly didn't expect that one. Ah well. She did earn it. Also she's upset? What could've caused that?
It didn't matter he'd better headed home. He packed his stuff and turned in his work. Once the teacher looked everything over and gave his approval, Raoul walked out. The weather was starting to cool down. '' summer's coming to an end.'' Raoul sighed when he walked there were a few people who called him out as usual. The amount had dropped sins he hung out with Ahsoka. But she wasn't here now. And then they'd grab their chance to bully him once more. Ahsoka didn't know it but he wouldn't tell her. She had enough on her head now.
'' hey hey hey. Lookie who's here. It's the nerd of the school. Where are you going to? Back to your freaky girlfriend?'' A pretty big guy blocked his path through the gate. Raoul ignored him and try to walk past. But he got pushed back.'' I was talking nerd. So are you going back to your freaky girlfriend?'' Raoul clenched his fist.'' She isn't my girlfriend!'' he hissed back at the bully. '' what? You got friend zoned by a freak? God you're pathetic. You should be on the ground. Begging me for passage now.''
Raoul looked around him. And saw that they were the only ones in the surrounding area. Within a blink of an eye he jumped the guy grabbed him by the neck and kneed him in the gut. We the bully fell over grabbing for his gut Raoul held him by the neck and grabbed an arm. He flung the bully around and made him kiss the fence. He got very close and growled in his ears. '' I don't care much if people think they can bully me. But if I hear you shit talk Ahsoka behind her back one more time… I'll come for you and I'll break your neck. Clear?''
All Raoul got was a whimper of pain and discomfort. Raoul released the guy and left. But not before he gave the bully another punch in the ribs. ''and that was for making me lose my temper.'' The walk home was silent and uneventful. But he was glad for that. It gave him time to cooldown. It wasn't often that he'd lose his temper. And certainly not in public. But hearing that guy talk the way he did about Ahsoka made him snap. He entered the gate code and opened the lock. He sensed Ahsoka was outside on the tares. He tried to get a better read on her state and activity. But he didn't get anything more than her location
Annoying but not unexpected. He thought. He was only studying the force of a few weeks now he opened the front door and walked inside. It was cooling down outside but it was still warm enough for a refreshing dive in the pool. Something he could use around now. He placed his back on the ground and changed in to his swimming gear. Before he headed back outside. On to the tares. He saw Ahsoka she seemed to be asleep at the moment or at least to be resting. He placed his towel on the chair next to Ahsoka. And dove in to the pool. The splash of Raoul diving in woke Ahsoka from her light slumber.'' Huh? What?'' she looked around confused until she saw Raoul resurface. '' oh your home? I guess I dosed off. Was I asleep long?''
Raoul grinned. '' don't know I just got here. Sorry for waking you up by the way.'' He swam a few rounds before getting out of the pool. '' so plan's tonight?'' He asked her as he sat down next to her. In the sun. Ahsoka shook her head. '' no not really. '' Raoul nodded. '' I see. Well I have to show you something tonight. We think it's time you got to know our family secrets. You've earned our trust Ahsoka.'' Ahsoka gulped. '' o-ohkay.'' Hearing that she was trustworthy was still difficult for her. '' anyway. I'll show you after dinner.'' With that Raoul left Ahsoka. She started to wonder about what she would find.
What would those secrets entail? Would they be good? Or would they be bad? She honestly had no idea that to think of it. To hear that they trusted her while she didn't even trust herself… that was weird. Weird but comforting. She decided that she'd ben in the sun long enough now and headed inside. She could hear Raoul busy in the kitchen. He was preparing to cook. She walked upstairs. It was time to change. She was still a little off from what Sietske said to her. How could she see her as a daughter? It made no sense. And that secret they kept going on about. Why were they going to show her that?
They knew she would leave the planet the second she got the chance. Right? Her eyes widened. Or didn't they? Did they think she'd stay here? Well it was no used think about it now. She dressed up in a pair of jeans and a long shirt she had thrown on the ground earlier this day. She looked around her room. It was getting messy. Especially now she was getting her own stuff in here. She was never actually used to owning stuff. Noting besides two pair of clothing and a lightsaber. Now however. She owned multiple things. And her chamber was becoming a mess. Sietske told her that it was just part of the teenage phase and that it was normal.
Well whether it was normal or not. She'd have to tidy the place up sometime. So she'd probably doo kit tomorrow. She made a note in her agenda making sure to do it in English and Dutch. After that she headed back downstairs. She looked at Raoul who was still busy in the kitchen. '' so what are we going to eat?'' Raoul smirked. '' well seeing how it's just a dinner for two…'' Ahsoka blinked. '' yea my bro's just called their staying for the night by a friend of theirs. That leaves us alone for tonight.'' He winked. '' anyway I was thinking of a stake medium rare. With baked potatoes and beans. I also want to add some cucumber slices in a yogurt sugar dressing. And to finish it. A creamy pepper sauce for the steak.''
Ahsoka was getting hungry just by hearing that. '' that sounds delicious…..'' Raoul smirked. '' good cause you can help me... he tenderly helped Ahsoka where she needed help. Together they cooked their dinner. They had fun doing it. However by turning the potatoes something went wrong. Raoul tried to correct Ahsoka's mistake but only managed to trip them both over. Resulting in an award positioning. They both had a blush before scrambling up like nothing had happened at all...

Garrus painted once again they barely escaped death by the reapers. "Liara are you alright? Is everyone alright?'' Liara looked around her and counted heads. '' yea were fine. Everyone's still here. I still can't believe our luck. That we haven't lost anyone yet.'' They were still searching for the vault. They've been looking for 2 weeks now and still haven't fount it. Some of their small group have started to lose hope. Believing that it didn't exist. In truth Garrus was starting to feel the same. '' were is it!'' he let out frustrated. And kicked some ruble. '' we should have found it by now. This search is going to get us killed if we don't find it soon.''
Liara grabbed him behind the mandibles so she could get his focus. '' Garrus no one said it would be easy. Besides if the reapers can't even find it. Then you certainly can't expect to find it easily. But we'll find it and when we do. We can make that community we wanted to work.'' Garrus sighed and stroke Liara's cheek. '' your right of course. How is that quarrian tali doing?'' Liara sighed. '' she's stable for now but hasn't woken up yet I fear that the infections might get her, if we don't get her some real medical attention soon. Chai is currently watching her…''
Garrus shook his head. '' how is that girl holding up? '' Liara grunted. '' not doing well actually. She's still affected by grief. And she's scarred out of her mind. She barely eats and never sleeps. If it goes on like this than she might not make it.'' Garrus leaned forward over the railing. '' this might sound hard but maybe it's better for her.'' Liara looked wide eyed at him. '' GARRUSS! How can you say that!?'' '' Liara. It's true I mean look around you. This is the world she's born in. this is all she knows. Do you think this is a live that a girl like her deserves? I'm not saying that we should kill her. But if she wants to take her own live I won't stop her.'' Liara bit her lip. She really hated to admit it. But Garrus was right. This horror was all that chai knew. All she'd ever know. If things keep up she might not even reach past 50. Liara shook her head.
If someone could knock the reapers down a peck or two that would be great. She feared however that no one would ever be able to stop them. By her estimates 80 of all live was already extinct by now. The asari might be able to survive for some time if the reapers were to leave within the next 2 decades. But the rest stood no chance. The batarians and vorcha were already counted as extinct. The quarrian fleet lost and untracked probably gone too. Then there were the krogan. They would put up a nasty fight but they would go down due to the genophage. If that didn't exist they might have survived a lot longer than they would now. Damn it! Damn it all!
'' there really is no end to this madness is there? '' Garrus shook his head. '' I'm afraid not li. We might manage but I don't see this ending well for any of our species. Damn the council. If they'd just listened to the warnings. We would have been a little more prepared.'' Liara shook her head. '' there was no way to prepare for an invasion like this.'' Garrus nodded. '' we should have seen it coming none the less. I mean Sarren. Damn that traitor. He warned us in his final moments. Yet no one listened. And now we have this shit. All we can do now is hope. Hope that the humans find this and start preparing right away.'' Garrus noticed something in the corner of his eyes.
'' we should get moving. Look to the left. Harvesters and ravagers.'' Liara noticed them too. '' yea your right. Let's move out.'' While walking back to the camp an idea came to Liara's mind. '' Garrus this might sound like suicide but I think we should leave the city. I think this bunker were looking for is on the edge of the city...'' Garrus clicked his mandibles. And after some time he nodded. '' yea it's suicide but still everything is these days. Soo sure let's give it a shot. Worst case scenario. Well die. But guess what. We'll all die eventually so it doesn't Mather when we die. Just how we die. '' the group nodded in agreement. With that hey set out for the edge of the city. It would be a long few months before they reached there. But it at least gave them hope. And hope what the thing they needed right now.

Raoul was just done with the dinner when he went upstairs. He was busy prepping everything. Today was the day that he'd allow Ahsoka in to the family's secret. Frosterson corps HQ. The place where all the magic happened. He gave EDI the instruction's and prepared the labs. He just hoped Ahsoka wouldn't freak out to much about stealing some of the tech from her data pat. They were already busy building some of the things. Namely durasteel. They finally figured it out. This revelation let to the space worthy variant of the f35 and f22. It also started a hopeful prototype project called project Normandy. Named after the place were Raoul's parents met for the first time.
He quickly dressed up in something more professional. There were people working today and he knew that. After he dressed himself in to a business suite just in case. He looked at the bowtie and decided to leave it off. The jacked was still open he went downstairs. When he reached downstairs he was still busy getting his hair in model. It was growing longer now so he brushed it out of his eyes. It make his hair look a little spiky but in a good way. Ahsoka frown. '' uhmm why the dress up? Should I've…'' he shook his head whit a chuckle.
'' nah your fine. But as third CEO it's expected of me to look professional when workers are on the floor. They should be leaving soon. But most decide to eat there too seeing how we have a restaurant and pup in the cantina. That's not the floor we'll be heading to. At least not now. But some of the peeps working for us sometimes lose track of time.'' Ahsoka blinked. She was slightly hesitant but followed Raoul down to a strange looking door. She'd seen Erik or Sietske enter it before. '' well this is the secret entrance. To the underground labs and HQ. We have a main entrance somewhere too but we never use it. It's easier to simply use this one. Only I my mum and dad have access to this entrance. For the tour I'll have give you your own entrance idea. And authority status''
Ahsoka noticed Raoul was searching for something he then pressed a button in the wall and a DNA. He placed his hand on the scanner. Then a few seconds later a green light appeared.'' EDI. DNA save. Authority level alpha 10 to DNA and eye pattern. '' An eye scanner popped out of the wall He nodded for Ahsoka to place her hand on the DNA scanner and to look in to the eye scanner. She did as instructed. It took a minute before the scan was complete. Then a robotic voice came out of a speaker. '' DNA sample saved. Eye pattern saved. Authority level alpha 10 bonded. Name and voice sample please.''
A microphone came out of the wall Ahsoka blinked and looked confused at Raoul. He nodded at her. '' a-Ahsoka Tano.'' She spoke. '' voice recognition completed. Authority level alpha 10 bonded to name…' Ahsoka Tano.' Code name requested. '' she looked at Raoul again. '' it's to ensure the privacy of our workers. Where there to be hacked in to our database. They'd see the code names instead of the real names.'' Ahsoka nodded. '' b-but I really don't know a code name. c-could you help. T-this is all s-so sudden.'''
Raoul gave and understanding smile. '' don't worry. EDI override authorization alpha five. Bond codename fulcrum to authority level alpha 10 name Ahsoka Tano.'' '' authorization alpha five 'Raoul Frosterson' recognized… override accepted. Bonding code name fulcrum to name 'Ahsoka Tano.' Authorization alpha 10….'' It was silent for a moment. '' bonding complete. Welcome Miss Tano. We from Frosterson corp hope you'll enjoy your work for our company. '' Ahsoka blinked '' uhmmm….'' She turned to Raoul.
He grinned. '' don't worry you won't need to work at all. It's just a user idea we made now let's start the tour shall we.'' Ahsoka nodded and followed him. '' normally you'd just have to make an DNA scan to verify that it's you but seeing how we had to make an user id we went through all the security checks already. So now we can just pass them all except the meeting room. For that we'll have to do something.'' Ahsoka nodded. '' soo uhm... I was wondering you gave me alpha 10 what does that mean?'' Raoul gave a slight smile. '' we have a hierarchy system in the company. Alpha authority is the highest reserved for the CEO's and department leaders. Then we have the beta authority. They are the project leaders and head assistance. Then we reach charley authority. This is authority clearance for team leaders. Delta is reserved for the normal floor staff. Customers serve's and what not. Clearance Vega is used for the cleaners and genitors the guards and night shifts. Every authority level goes from 1 to 10 so you're the lowest of the highest rank. Don't worry it's how I started out its how my parents started out and it's how my brothers will start out.''
Something hit Ahsoka'' wait you said you had clearance alpha 5. Does that mean that here are people higher than you?'' Raoul nodded. '' yes in fact. My dad has alpha 1 together with my mum. Hiro has believe it or not alpha 3 clearance. My grandparents hold alpha 2 and most department leaders hold alpha 4. I will receive Alpha 1 eventually when I take over the company.'' The elevator stopped. '' so what do you know of Frosterson corp?'' Ahsoka blinked as if he went mad. '' you already told me that. You produce weapons right?'' Raoul nodded. '' that's correct mostly. But not completely. Remember as I said we have departments. I'm stationed in the weapons department. We've also other departments like intelligence. Space fair. Household stuff. Cellphones. AI's. Plains and cars. Bio engineering. Terraforming. You name it and we have a department of it. It's our goal to advance humanity as fast as possible. But more importantly as responsible as possible.'
''There are other corporations that share our views somewhat. About human advancement. However some say that all ends justified the means one of those companies is Cerberus. We don't hold those views. We believe that progression is the goal but we shouldn't abandon our own humanity to progress.'' Ahsoka nodded. ''Yea I agree. So where are we heading to?'' '' I wanted to show you the meeting room the elevator doors opened and Ahsoka was awestruck. By what she saw. It all looked so high-tech Raoul told her to follow. He stopped in front of a big double door. '' authorization?'' '' alpha 5 and alpha 10 granted permission alpha 1.'' There was a light pause. '' password. '' aperire ostium.'' '' password accepted. Welcome mister Frosterson. Miss Tano...'' the door opened. With that she walked in. it was a big room with a long rectangular wooden table. It had something cut out in the middle. When they entered a holographic sphere popped up. Behind the table was a big screen. Above that hung all kinds of small screens displaying as far as Ahsoka could guess. Various projects currently going on. She looked at the table. It could at least seat 30 man. '' well Ahsoka welcome to the heart of Frosterson corp. this is where the magic starts.'' Raoul spread his arms with a cheeky grin.
