Love the way you lie; Chapter 19. Beginners Thrill.
"I wish people would stop disappearing! Can we make a rule or something about this! Because its really starting to p..."
Before the angry Granger could finish his empty frustration, he took a deep breath to swallow that foul language. Its so catchable when you hang around with people who commonly do it in their everyday speech. Bloody Pearl! He sat down on the front room sofa and watched his friends try to contact Kai and Pearl through their phones. They lost track of them last night and haven't heard of them since. Russia was such a mysterious and cold place; now the Bladebreakers could conform that after their experiences here.
The atmosphere was so tense and loud from people having so many conversations at once, it only made people stress more. Hilary was huffing just like her old classmate and sat down beside him with her arms folded. "I don't understand what's going on anymore." She said in such a worn out tone. All this brunette wanted now was peace and a smooth tournament; yet that never seems to happen for FIVE minutes.
"Tell me about it. Pearl leaves in a strop then sour-puss follows like he's boyfriend of the year. Pft." Tyson leaned back on the sofa and grabbed hold of the remote, hoping the entertainment will sooth his nerves for short time. Funnily enough, the television was on the sports channel and this made him smile. "Guys, the updates from the Blitzkrieg boys are on."
Immediately everyone paused for a moment, placing their phones in their pockets and surrounded the television like a curious audience. "Oh man, Tala got pretty battered huh?" Max gasped at the footage provided of the red haired Russian, laying in hospital with multiple cuts and scratches on his face.
Rei sighed heavily. "So it turns out the American Evolutions are up against us in the next match. Why do I get the feeling this was planned?" He asked suspiciously looking around at each individual in the hotel room, wondering if their views agreed with him.
"Mr Dickinson owns them. Nothing is planned guys." Kenny answered and began to type away on his laptop. "He's too honest and faithful to us."
"Or is he?" A familiar voice from the doorway spoke, sounding so excited to see the team. Dropping down his luggage like a king returning home whilst then raising his muscular arms into the air. "I hope you haven't missed me too much!"
Sitting on the run down floor facing the person who has been annoying her since she became a professional beyblader, Pearl gazed her chestnut brown eyes into his cold crimson eyes and squinted. One question filled her mind at this point. "Why are you following me?" She asked quite sharply and placed her hands into her lap.
Finishing the last of his water bottle before chucking it aside, the lone-wolf raised an eyebrow and then slouched. "Why do you think?" He replied and closed his eyes for a moment to break the eye contact. It was uncomfortable enough to swallow the raw emotions in his heart, never mind bond with his ex. As much as the pair hated it, they knew they had to stick together.
She then crossed her legs. "Don't play games." This girl was becoming wiser the more she hung around with the blue haired male. But that didn't mean he found a loop hole around it by toying with her love for him. What she didn't know though, was she could probably do the same if Pearl found the strength too.
Finally his cool slipped and the leader pulled one of his famous sly grins. "You are not going to wipe Tyson off the map, without me going up against him first." He admitted, not really bothered about the reactions as usual.
"You make it sound like I get the left overs." The Liberty holder hissed.
"Yea I know." He added and folded his broad arms. "But you're just a hypocrite."
"How am I?!"
Deep down Pearl knew exactly what he was talking about and Kai knew this just by the look on her face the split second he mentioned it. So there was no need to explain himself. She told him not to leave the team, yet she's doing it now. It didn't take a genius to figure that one out.
The blonde then looked her insecurity around the environment around them. Cold, run down and worthless. Just like the emotions and stains on her name. "My brother told me to not let anything hold me back." She confessed and swallowed hard, no more was she going to cry a single tear without a decent excuse.
"I know that." He answered and huffed. "But get over it."
Shrieking in shock from what she just heard, the stubborn girl then stood up and rolled her eyes. "Its easy for you to say. You have got nothing but the fame. No wonder you are alone." Pearl snapped un-emotionally, starting to sound a lot more like him. She was getting used to these games he was playing and began to be one step ahead on the chessboard.
Thats when she hit a nerve inside the Hiwatari's mind, still he refused to show it. "Like you know everything." He never told her about his past and he had no intentions too either. It was his forbidden secret that will go down in the grave with him.
"What would you do, if I just packed up in the night and left you here alone? You'd have nothing."
At this point, Kai's eyes widened with shock. He knew she was talking shit, yet that insecurity did cross his cautious mind. The Hiwatari then watched her walk over to the window to watch the rain splash against the glass. It sounded so soothing, but that didn't ease the tension in the atmosphere one bit.
Pearl then burst out laughing, for the first time in a long time, she felt dominance over him. It was her royal flush against his dull set of cards in this never ending game. "You're face would be priceless. Crawling back to those big headed boys like a lost child." She continued to rub it in his face.
"Big headed? Is that what this is about?" He twisted the topic slightly deliberately. "And I wont be crawling back to nobody. If you think you are that strong and stupid, walk out the door now for all I care."
"Kai, you obvious care somewhere. You followed me you twat when I did a runner." She then glanced at his reflection in the small window, to watch him then rise to his feet, ready to stand his ground. "And no thats not what this is about. I am going back to my old team because the Bladebreakers are missing something. They're going to lose Kai."
"You keep saying that." And the more she said it, the lone-wolf was starting to believe it. He knew this girl wouldn't lie like he would to convince someone something, if he had too. "What are they missing then? Huh?"
Pearl then turned around to face him, looking more confident than ever about the next few words that were about to leave her mouth. "The beginners thrill. The determination you only have when you start from the bottom. I hated every minute of being with you guys because I didn't earn my place there. You guys do, there is a difference."
That was slightly true, but that didn't mean the guys had the strength to keep their famous title. World champions. Kai shrugged stubbornly, he still sustained that thrill because he wanted to crush Tyson like an ant. Still, this only persuaded him to follow Pearl to this new team even more.
She then slowly walked past him to approach the phone landline. "Do you fancy buying us a chinese? I am starved." The American blonde asked, trying to sound like his best friend for two minutes. Pearl already had the phone in her hand and the number was dialed, all she had to do now, was wait for the Russians approval.
Which didn't come straight away. "No." He snarled just to see her reaction as she looked tempted to throw the phone at him. As much as it was tempting for Kai to watch her fail ordering the meal by not being able to speak Russian tongue, he took a deep breath and reached out his hand to the spoilt beyblader. "Don't ever ask me again." The bluenette concluded and snatched the phone.
Giggling, the girl then kissed his forehead and began to search the run down apartment. It was only for the time being and this American with standards couldn't wait to fuck off. "I must ask you something. Did you come after me because you were concerned?" Pearl asked curiously and softly.
Forcing a positive nod out himself, the determined champion hushed her up before ordering their chinese. A few moments later, he hung up the phone then paused for a moment. "As I am paying for the meal. Tomorrow, you can make the effort by phoning Mr Dickinson to tell him we quit the team." He obviously wouldn't do this without her doing the worst event.
"Oh come on." Pearl gulped and pulled her beyblade out her pocket. She was now more interested in fixing their relationship for their careers and past sake. The blonde looked at his muscular figure to feel her stomach wrench so tightly. He was so attractive in her view, it was driving her crazy being with him longer than she intended too. "I can do that."
Kai then pulled out his wallet to hand her the Russian change. It did make her tilt her head with confusion watching him speak his home language, it was awkward to know someone could speak a second language so well as his first. So intelligent yet a bastard. -.-; "Then tomorrow, we can go stalk my ex team. I have a pretty good idea where they'll be." Pearl said looking at the money in her hands curiously.
But the minute she looked up, she could sense his strong after shave thriving up her nostrils. The hairs on the back of her neck stood proudly and her muscles went numb. "Make the most of it." Kai whispered and then lifted her chin up, to gain access to her lips with his own. Planting them upon hers calmly. The taste of her peached lips was becoming an addiction that the lone-wolf just couldn't get enough of.
Going with the flow, Pearl latched onto the money and forced her heavy arms around his neck, returning the smooth kiss. She felt her heart skip a beat when the leader wrapped his muscular and toned arms around her hour-glass figure, pulling her dominantly closer up against him.
Kai suddenly forget about the outside world for a moment and the situation they were in. He for the first time in a long time was enjoying the seducing attention of an ambitious and sexy young woman. It was so much safer for him, not only did they know how to satisfy eachother physically and mentally, but it just felt so right and natural to him. Like he should be doing this to just her. Her recent ex-girlfriend, was too awkward.
Licking his lower lip to take this passionate kiss to the next level, this attention craving girl gladly allowed her tongue into his mouth to massage it well. It was hard for her not to moan with all the nerves in her confused mind playing their part. But she gasped with satisfaction when he began to massage his tongue with hers.
After a moment, they then finally pulled apart from air. Pearl was desperate to take him back and Kai knew this. His heart skipped an unhealthily beat when she looked up at him as if he were God. "Don't keep running off." He stated, sounding soft and slightly caring.
Pearl then bit her lower lip for a second. "You tell me that as if you were my boyfriend." She whispered and pressed her lips upon his for a split second, before beginning to listen out for their meal.
"What if I did?" Kai spoke and softly grabbed hold of her hand, holding it so tightly with such faith and security. Maybe even a promise. "You wouldn't defy it."
"No I wouldn't defy it." She smiled and hugged him.
