A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...

The Dark Side is running rampant again and people are disappearing from planets across the galaxy and even some from beyond the galaxy. The ruthless dark leaders appear to be searching for something or someone in particular. It is uncertain who is in charge of this disappearance or who exactly they are searching for...

Meanwhile, the heroes of the Light Side are nowhere to be found. It is as though the Jedi no longer care. All hope seems to be disappearing. Time is running out as the Dark Side continues gaining more and more power...

Chapter One:

"Uncle Chuck, I'm tiiiiired!" a blue hedgehog complains as he is being shaken awake by an older hedgehog.

"Sonic, you know there are chores to be done..." Uncle Chuck responds.

"Can't I sleep one more minute?" Sonic asks, covering his head with a pillow.

"No. Because one minute will become two, and two will become ten, and then you'll never get up!" Uncle Chuck says, stealing the pillow, "Perhaps if you slept last night, you wouldn't be so tired!"

Sonic groans and gets out of bed.

"Okay. Alright. I'm up," Sonic grumbles.

"Your breakfast is in the kitchen. I expect you to get to work reinforcing the camouflage barriers right after," Uncle Chuck says.

Sonic slowly walks into the kitchen and finds his breakfast at the table as his uncle told him. Uncle Chuck joins him at the table.

"Every day is the same..." Sonic says between bites of food, "Eat, work, eat, work, eat, sleep..."

"I understand you are frustrated, but I'm getting too old to keep doing all the work... Your work around here is the only thing keeping us from being found..." Uncle Chuck says.

Sonic stops eating and glances sadly up at his uncle.

"...like my mother...?" Sonic asks.

"Yes... Just like your mother..." Uncle Chuck says.

Sonic reaches for the necklace that is around his neck.

"...I miss her... Even though I barely knew her..." Sonic says.

"I know... I'm so sorry..." Uncle Chuck says.

"And you know, now that I think about it... It is best I get back to work. If it means I can prevent you from being found," Sonic says.

Quickly, Sonic abandons his food and dashes for the door.

"Good luck, Sonic! Make sure you come back in for lunch, later!" Uncle Chuck calls.

Sonic quickly gets to work seeking out leaves and branches to further disguise his little house in the woods. There seems to be plenty of materials today scattered here and there.

"These are some good leaves..." Sonic says to himself, wiping some dirt off of the leaves he found.

"...Sonic..." a voice calls.

"Huh? Uncle Chuck?" Sonic asks, looking around.

"...Sonic..." the voice calls again.

Curious, Sonic drops his building supplies and wanders off in the direction the voice is coming from.

"W-who's there...?" Sonic asks.

Without thinking, Sonic leaves the forest chasing after the mysterious voice.

"Who are you and what do you want?!" Sonic asks.

Looking around, Sonic finds himself in a busy city. All kinds of creatures are tending to their own business here.

"Wow... I've never seen this place before..." Sonic says.

The air is filled with unfamiliar scents. Some pleasant, like food cooking and flowers blooming, and some unpleasant like sewage and exhaust.

"...maybe I should have eaten all my breakfast this morning..." Sonic says, sweating nervously.

The delicious food aroma leads Sonic to a stand selling chili-dogs. Having no money, Sonic uses his super speed to snag a few without being seen.

"...I hope they don't notice... Heh..." Sonic says and begins eating his food.

"HEY! I'VE BEEN ROBBED!" the food vendor cries out.

"Uh oh... Guess I gotta eat on the run..." Sonic says.

He shoves some food in his mouth and takes off running.

"HEY, YOU! THIEF! GET BACK HERE!" the food vendor cries out.

Within no time, robots are hot on Sonic's trail, tracking his every move.

'Gotta get away! Gotta get away!' Sonic thinks to himself.

Sonic runs out of the city and into a desert, kicking up dirt as he runs. Still, the bots are hot on his trail. BZZZRT! BZZZRT! the bots fall apart and clatter to the ground. Sonic stands there, stunned.

"A bit of bad luck?" a voice asks.

Sonic gasps in surprise and hides behind a rock upon seeing a human standing there.

"Little children like you shouldn't be wandering far from home," the human continues.

"I... Umm..." Sonic says, swallowing his food, "Thanks..."

"You're welcome," the human says, turning to leave.

"Wait! Wait! Hold on! How did you destroy those bots so easily?!" Sonic asks.

The human, who is an old man, just smiles gently. He begins to leave, but Sonic follows him.

"Please, sir... I want to know the secret!" Sonic says.

"Shouldn't you be getting home?" the human asks.

"I mean, yeah... But I owe you one! You saved my life!" Sonic says.

The old man sighs and shakes his head.

"It's dangerous to be out here..." the old man says.

"But you're out here, so there must be some secret trick," Sonic says.

"It's called a lightsaber," the old man says after some time.

He activated his lightsaber, revealing a glowing blue blade.

"Wow, that's pretty..." Sonic says.

The old man looks up at the sky and then back at the hedgehog.

"Change of plans. There is a sandstorm coming. There is no way you can make it home in one piece in that weather," the old man says.

"So now what?" Sonic asks.

"You're coming with me," the old man says.

"Okay, I guess I have no choice," Sonic says.

Without another word, Sonic follows the old man to a cave in the desert just before the sandstorm kicks in.
