WARNING: FLASHBACK
Chapter .2.
"Hestia! Athena! Help Artemis to hell Temple! We will explain quickly and Apollo will be there as soon as we are done", Zeus orders taking control of the situation.
Hestia and Athena were immediately at Artemis's side. Hestia touching her first and her hand glowing orange. They both gently pull Artemis up and help the waddling and wincing Artemis our off the throne room.
As soon as the downs close the demigods explode with questions.
"How did this happen?"
"She is meant to be a Maiden Goddess!"
"Is she really pregnant?"
"This can't be happening!"
Everyone was talking at once.
"Silence!" Zeus booms
The demigods shut up at Zeus's voice as Apollo groans coming around.
"I had the weirdest dream", Apollo mumbles
"Not a dream nephew", Hades tells him smirking in amusement
Apollo's eyes widen.
"Artemis is indeed pregnant and has started labour", Demeter states
"How did this happen?" Apollo asks with disbelief
"Ares", Aphrodite spits out, "Took Artemis prisoner about nine and a half months ago"
"Ares and Hera abused Artemis", Hephaestus adds
"The quick version after that is Artemis attempted to escape and Ares caught her. Then raped her repeatedly", Poseidon says
Apollo growls at that.
"We rescued her. But where too late. A week after we rescued her Asclepius told her she was pregnant", Bellona tells them
"Artemis would never get ride of a baby", Amphitrite tells them
"But she couldn't deal with Ares DNA in her children", Persephone adds
"She came to me and we found a way to swap the fathers DNA to that off someone else. Making them the other half of the babies DNA", Hecate explains
"Who did she choose then?" Thalia asks
"She chose the only person she trusts more then anyone. The only MALE she trusts", Ariadne states
"Who?" Reyna asks
Apollo had a feeling off what the answer was going to be.
"Apollo's DNA was swapped into the babies", Aphrodite starts looking at Apollo amused at his white face and swayed on his feet again.
Meg steady's him.
"Apollo pull it together!" Meg snaps at him
"She is right. Artemis needs you to deliver her babies", Zeus tells him
"I can't what abo...", Apollo tries
Zeus shakes his head.
"Only YOU can do it. She panics when people touch her. She has stated she can only handle and trust you to do it. Asclepius agrees that if anyone else was to do it could cause harm to the babies and Artemis. So your up son", Zeus tells him
Apollo closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He could do this for his beloved sister who he now learnt he failed to protect.
"Alright. I can do this. I can do this", Apollo mutters
"You better get going. Thalia go with him", Zeus instructs
"Why?" Thalia asks confused
"Artemis's birth plan has you giving her support with Athena and Hestia. And off course Apollo", Aphrodite informs her.
"That might not be...", Thalia starts
But suddenly she and Apollo were grabbed by Hermes and flashed to outside Artemis's Temple.
"Good luck Apollo. Make sure she can't access her knives or daggers", Hermes warns him smirking
"Why?" Apollo asks wearily
"Well let's just say many have been her victims of those knives these last few months. Including me", Hermes replies smirking as he salutes Apollo and flashes away.
"You alright Apollo?" Thalia asks
"Not in the slightest. But Arty needs me. Even though this is freaking me out and I'm mad this happened", Apollo replies
"Me too", Thalia states
Apollo sighs and snaps his fingers and his medical kit appears in his hand.
"Let's do this", Apollo replies
He opens the door to hear his sister letting out a small hiss. And Hestia and Athena's smoothing voices.
"Your doing great Artemis", Athena was saying
"Deep breaths with each contraction", Hestia was saying softly
Apollo and Thalia follow the voices to the living room. They see Athena standing near Artemis who was leaning on the couch while standing up. With Hestia rubbing her back.
Artemis had now changed out off her clothes and too a robe.
"There you go", Hestia says softly as the contraction passes
"Arty?" Apollo asks nervously
She looks up and gives them a strained smile.
"I beat you thought you would never be delivering my child", Artemis breaths
"You could say that Sis", Apollo replies, "When were you due?"
"I was due a week ago. I was determined these Little Ones would wait for you", Artemis replies
Apollo nods and puts down his medical kit.
"Brother?" Artemis asks hesitantly
"Yes Arty?" Apollo asks seeing her fearful eyes on him.
"Can I have a hug? I have waited so long and I need…", Artemis starts to cry, because off everything that has happened.
After all this time she hoped to finally get a hug from her Big Brother.
"Oh Little Sis", Apollo says softly and moves to her side.
He gently pulls her into his arms. He barely notices the others leave the room. She clutches him tightly.
"I needed you Brother. Why did you take you so long?" Artemis cries in his arms.
"I am so, so sorry", Apollo murmurs trying to comfort her, "It will never happen again"
"I need you…", Artemis starts but is cut off by a contraction and she groans clutching Apollo's arm.
"Do you what me too get…"
"NO! Please don't leave me. Please...please...", Artemis begs through the contraction
"Ok. Ok. I am not going anywhere. I swear", Apollo says softly.
He didn't want to cause his sister anymore distress then she already was in. It was not good for the baby.
When the contraction passes Apollo decides to get more information.
"Arty the baby…", he starts
"Babies", she corrects after catching her breath.
He looks at her questioningly
"I am having twins", Artemis reveals to him
His eyes widen. But after thinking on it for a second it DID make since. Since Artemis and he were twins.
"Are they healthy? Have you been having a normal pregnancy?" he asks her
"Yes. But I couldn't have Asclepius or any others check me much. I…I can stand the touching. Not after…not after…", Artemis shivers thinking about it
Apollo rubs her arm as he senses a panic attack.
"Little Sis deep breaths. Your safe. Your in your Temple and I am by your side. Athena, Hestia and Thalia are in the next room. Nobody by me will be touching you", Apollo coos to her kissing her forehead.
Apollo knew he would have to do this for his sister and her no THEIR babies. His feelings off being uncomfortable didn't matter. He needed to do this for her. He could sense her panic and anxiety.
"You will do it?" Artemis breaths, hardly believing her twin would do this.
"Yes. I am here to the end", Apollo promises
"They are yours too", Artemis tells him
"The others told me. Arty I need to check you", Apollo tells her gently
Artemis breaths in and nods she knew he had too. She needed to know how far along she was.
"O…k…", Artemis stutters
Apollo helps her to her bed and the others come back in to help. She gasps as another contraction hits.
"7 minutes apart", Athena states
Artemis nods and she was helped on the bed. Hestia sits besides her. Apollo slowly moves Artemis's legs apart. Keeping an eye on his sister to gorge her reaction. He didn't want to move too fast for her.
"Ok Arty I need too look", Apollo says softly
He could feel her fear through the bond the was reforming between them.
"It is ok Little Sis. It is just me. I won't hurt you", Apollo coaxes her
"Do it", Artemis says closing her eyes trying to think only on the fact she would meet her babies soon.
Apollo checks and winces.
"Your only 4 centimetres dilated Arty. So still in the latent phase. We will be here a while", Apollo tells her
"Lets do some walking", Athena suggest
They help Artemis off the bed.
"Apollo, Thalia do you want to see the nursery?" Artemis asks them.
"Sure", Apollo replies
"If that is ok Milady", Thalia replies
Artemis shows them the nursery. Apollo had to admit they did a good job. It would definitely suit the children of the Moon and Sun.
Apollo still couldn't believe he was going to be a Father too his sisters children.
"Brother do you like it?" Artemis asks in Twin
"I love it", Apollo replies in the same language.
One that he didn't realise he missed until now.
"Will you be ok with these babies being yours?" Artemis asks in Twin
"Just give me time to get used to the idea", Apollo replies in Twin
"You don't have long. I AM in labour", Artemis replies wincing as a contraction hit.
"Not active labour yet sis", Apollo reminds her
"Don't remind me", Artemis replies still speaking in twin.
They move into the living room again and speak softly.
"Milady…"
"Thalia call me Artemis please. I don't think I want you to call my Milady the whole time I am in labour", Artemis replies as she paces
"Artemis when are you going to tell the Hunters?" Thalia asks
"I will have to worry about that later. I can only focus on getting through the labour and birth", Artemis replies sighing as the contraction passes.
"Do you know the genders?" Apollo asks
"Genders? You mean more then one?" Thalia asks
"I am having twins Thalia. And no. That is one thing I wanted to be surprised about", Artemis admits
"There are beats going on Thalia about the genders, time of birth and date, weight, length and so on. Hermes is taking them", Athena whispers to Thalia and Apollo as Hestia helps Artemis drink.
"Does Artemis know?" Apollo asks
"Hopefully not. She will probably kill him. She has sent knives at many Gods the last few months", Athena replies
"Have you bet?" Thalia asks curiously
Athena smirks, "Yes. But I am not saying"
An hour later Apollo checks her again.
"Your only 6 centimetres dilated Arty. And our officially in active labour. Now Arty I won't do anything without your permission", Apollo tells her smiling
The contractions where getting closer together and lasted longer. Apollo has Artemis stay in the bed now.
"Arty I need to check on the first baby. I need to put my fingers in to access the baby's progress", Apollo explains too her waiting for her to give her consent.
Artemis nods feeling a bit uncomfortable and fearful. She whimpers feeling his fingers in her. She suddenly has a flash back of Ares doing it.
Flashback
Artemis was trying to scream through her gag. She felt Ares big fingers enter her and play and stroke her insides.
"What do you think off that bitch?" Ares asks smirking at her tears, "Want more?"
Artemis shakes her head. And cries as she felt the third finger enter her.
"Doesn't that feel good?" Ares asks her
Artemis shakes her head.
"Please stop", she tries to say through the gag.
She cries out as he shoves a fourth finger deep inside her. It hurt so much. She let out a sharp cry in pain.
But for some reason her body was both enjoying and not enjoying this.
"Lets see how good of fit you are", Ares tells her smirking as he pulls down his pants
Artemis ended up screaming when her slammed into her and the pain…the pain…so much pain…feeling like she was being split it too…
End of Flashback
"Arty come back little one. Your safe Little Sis. I'll protect you. Your Big brother will protect you and the little ones from harm", a voice was cooing in her ear
She felt someone rocking her gently.
Artemis starts to come back to her senses as she hears Apollo talking to her in twin as he held her.
"Apolly?" Artemis gasps in twin.
"Hey there you were out off it for an hour", Apollo says softly in twin with relief.
He hated that his examination had sent her into a flashback.
"You back with me?" Apollo asks softly in twin
Artemis whimpers and nods burying her face in his chest as she clutched him as a contraction hit.
"Deep breaths. In out. In out", Apollo coaches.
Artemis does her best to follow her twins instructions. And sighs in relief after in passes in a minute.
"Sorry for panicking", Artemis whispers leaning on him.
"You have nothing to apologies for. I should have been more careful", Apollo replies
"You didn't know", Artemis replies softly
"I will try and not to send you into anymore flashbacks", Apollo promises
Artemis thinks for a minute. Apollo needed to know what happened too her. If he was going to help her probably through labour.
"I can show you through the bond", Artemis says quietly
"Arty you don't have too", Apollo tells her
"I need you too", Artemis replies looking at him, "I need you too know. I DO trust you Big Brother. I just NEED you too know Apolly"
Apollo knew Artemis was scared as she only called him Big Brother or Apolly when she was scared or sick.
"Ok Little One. But don't let it take too much out off you", Apollo agrees
Artemis touches his face nervously and shows him through the bond they share what Ares with Hera's help did too her.
What Apollo saw horrified him. He was going to murder Ares and Hera. Nobody hurt his Sister and got away with it. He could feel and smell just how scared she was.
He saw how she was rescued and how badly she was injured. He saw everything that happened afterwards. Her finding out she was pregnant and then her desperate plea to Hecate to help her change her twins DNA.
His heart warmed when he saw Artemis not really hesitating in saying his name. He felt how much his sister trusted him. That made his protectiveness reach new heights.
He feels her sag against him after showing him everything. And then whimper as another contraction hits her.
"In out…in out…", Apollo coaches holds out his hand.
Artemis nods tiredly and squeezes his hand until the contraction passes.
"Sis I promise not to do that type of examination again unless I have too", Apollo tells her softly after the contraction passes.
"Thank you", Artemis whispers taking comfort in her brothers presence, "I was so scared you won't make it back here in time", she admits
"I will ALWAYS find my way back to you. ALWAYS. I am NOT going anywhere. Never. You and these Little ones are stuck with me for the rest of out lives", Apollo promises and kisses her forehead
They were still speaking in twin which just came naturally too them when they were alone.
That's when Artemis notices that Athena, Hestia and Thalia were missing.
"Where did they go?" Artemis asks her brother
"They are giving us space and Athena is updating the others. Hestia and Thalia are fixing you something to eat and I DID hear Demeter, Persephone, Ariadne, Amphitrite come in not long ago. Since we will still be hear a while", Apollo replies, "Is it ok that they are here?"
"I have gotten closer to them since this happened. They had been by my side helping my through my pregnancy along with Hecate and Bellona", Artemis reveals to him.
One thing was for sure Apollo was going to have to make a list of people he would need to thank for helping his sister when he couldn't be with her.
But first things first. They just had to get through the labour and delivery first.
And something told Apollo it won't be as fast as Artemis would probably want it…
