Love The Way You Lie; Chapter 23. Don't Hold Your Breath.
Sitting on the bed with his crimson eyes staring into the darkness, so many thoughts were running through his heavy throbbing head. Right now, for the first time in a long time, he was finally panicking about his team's future in this tournament. A team captain sinking with his ship.
Out everyone to fuck me over, it was the one person I would have never expected. Is she really pregnant? And what will she tell the Evolutions about the Bladebreakers? That bitch has left me teamless anyways!
But that daydream soon faded when the Russian registered a familiar sound echo within his eardrums. His mobile phone in his baggy purple trousers. Taking a deep breath and answering the call, Kai did his best to try and keep his cool.
"Hello."
"We need to talk Kai." A cold voice demanded down the phone. "Meet me at the local town bar in an hour. Its information that might be useful."
"I don't need your information Tala. I already know." Kai sighed heavily and leaned back against the wall. "Pearl has left."
"That's not all Kai. She was there with the Evolutions when they jumped us. I want their heads for what they've done to Bryan."
"What do you want me to do about it? Diachi is back now with the Bladebreakers and they already have a replacement lined up for Pearl. I don't know who yet."
"I am not forfeiting this tournament Kai without a fight. If worst comes to worst, you can always replace Bryan."
Finally, a crawled up onto the Hiwatari's dry lips and relief ran through his tense broken figure. "Aren't you supposed to be facing the Evolutions next?" He asked in a slightly sly tone. Kai's confidence soon picked up when a plan came to mind. Pearl wasn't going to get far if he faced up to her one last time. This world champion was too angry inside.
"We were, but as the Blitzkrieg boys are a player short. Were on the edge of being disqualified." Tala paused for a moment. "Come meet me at the bar Kai, I know you want to ruin them as much as I do."
Beep, beep, beep.
He'd hung up, leaving the blue haired Dranzer holder to shiver with excitement slightly. Just when everything went wrong, he'd been given a second chance to put everything right. After Pearl had been wiped out, he had the opportunity to go up against Tyson.
"What do you mean the Blitzkrieg Boys are still in the tournament?!"
"They've signed a new beyblader to replace the one who was placed into a coma." Riley rolled his lime green eyes and switched off the beyblade sports news on the television. "Any idea who it would be then?"
"Isn't it obvious Riley?" Another girl spoke walking out the kitchen with her beyblade tool box. This girl wore a plaid short skirt with a black t-shirt. Her deep sea blue eyes focused on the leader and her strawberry blonde hair was up into a ponytail. "It's that Hiwatari."
"Wait till Pearl hears about the replacement. She'll be over the moon." Riley spoke strongly and stood up from the hotel sofa to make his way to the table to look at the new materials their sponsor had sent them through the post. "That Dickinson, I swear he's funding us to defeat the Bladebreakers you know."
"Good. It will be nice to see someone else win for a change. Everyone gets bored of the same winners Riley." Lacy explained and held up their new launchers, they were so light compared to their original ones. "Not too shabby huh? Joe! Come look at our new stuff!"
"Speaking of Pearl. Do you really think she's pregnant?" Lacy whispered changing the subject for a millisecond.
The brunette American Evolution leader raised an eyebrow at his deputy captain. "I don't really care. It's none of my business. As long as she can beyblade, I'm happy." He stated and glanced over his broad shoulder to watch his little brother walk out of his bedroom, looking like death.
"I will never go out drinking, again."
"Here we go." Lacy sighed watching the loser stumble to the table like a zombie. "Here's your new equipment you pisshead."
"Where's Pearl gone? She promised to get me some paracetamol?" Joe gasped and covered his eyes with his hand, blocking out the morning sunlight. "Its been about half an hour now."
"Did she go to the nearby store?" Lacy asked innocently and scanned around the small living space for her hand bag. "Hang on; I should have some on me."
"Yea, she went to the store. Ain't come back yet. How long does it take!?"
"You know Pearl, she's probably got caught up shopping along the way." Lacy giggled and picked up her hand bag from down beside the sofa, opening it to grab the pain killers. "Anyways, here. Shut up complaining."
"Is everyone ready for tomorrow?" Riley asked, hinting to the Blitzkrieg Boys match.
"Ready as we'll ever be. Who's beyblading who?" Joe picked up his new beyblade and observed it cautiously. "Because I can see you wanting to beyblade Kai."
"I am beyblading Kai." Riley smirked. "Joe is on the sick, so Lacy can have Spencer. Pearl can finish Tala."
"What do you mean you're beyblading Kai?" A familiar intruder asked standing behind them, closing the door behind her. The bleach blondes dropped all her shopping bags to the ground with a pissed off expression written all over her make up'd face. "I don't think so Riley."
"Excuse me?" Riley raised an eyebrow and turned around to face his strongest teammate. "You've messed around with him long enough. I'm ending it tomorrow Pearl. Then you can focus on your priorities."
A spoilt laugh entered the ever growing tense atmosphere. "You are not ending anything if Kai had anything to do with it. And don't talk to me about my priorities, I have been to the doctors for a check up. I'm fine. He just insisted I take it easy." The Liberty holder explained and folded her arms stubbornly.
"Take it easy?" Lacy gasped not believing what she just heard. "Pearl you are asking to beyblade one of the best beybladers known. He wont have mercy if he thinks you're lying about this whole baby stuff."
Pearl twitched with irritation. "Are implying I am a liar Lacy?"
"No I never called you a liar. What if Kai does? I mean, have you given him any proof?" The strawberry blonde knew to tread carefully, especially as the two girls had such a temper. "It's for your own good that Riley beyblades Kai."
"I love how you got touchy about being called a liar." Riley narrowed his eyes at Pearl. "Just finish Tala and I will deal with Kai tomorrow. End of."
