Love The Way You Lie
.Kai's Karma.

After being directed into Pearl's direction, Kai marched into the front porch to find the blonde finishing off the her alcoholic beverage.

"Before you say anything, no, I don't 'get off' on this drama." Pearl closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead. "I just wanted to put Johnny in his place for being so disrespectful. You should have heard what he was saying about us-"

"I don't care about that." Kai huffed impatiently and placed his hands into his suit pockets, "I just came to tell you that you shouldn't have came here."

Stunned by the statement, Pearl's stomach clenched with disgust. "How dare you say that to me!"

"I should have been more firmed with Mr Dickinson's judgement and outed you the minute you walked through this dojo door."

"KAI!" Barked Pearl, "Stop it! You're lying!"

"You don't belong here. You belong in the past." He clearly was ignoring her pleas. Kai continued to speak over her as if her voice was minor to his own. "So do us all a favour and leave now for good."

"I won't hear another word of this!" Tears were now forming in her brown eyes, "Tyson invited me here because I am his friend. You aren't speaking on their behalf, so you can just shut up!"

Without wasting anymore of her time, Pearl dropped her glass to cup her hands over her ears to mute his frosty tone. She dashed into the lounge to be caught off guard by the small crowd that had gathered in front of the television.

'Now what!?' She screamed to herself internally. 'Please tell me this isn't my doing.'

"I hate him. He doesn't deserve his career."

'Wait a second.' Pearl uncupped her hands from her ears to get a better listen to the voice. Slowly, she pushed through the bodies to make her way to the television screen. 'Why do I feel like I know this voice? It sounds disgusting and cheap.'

She gasped breathlessly, "No way."

"I know right." Max inhaled deeply through his nose. "Thank goodness Kai is out of the room right now."

"Erm, Max. He followed Pearl in." Kenny corrected, "Kai, don't listen to this. Just turn it off. Someone turn off the television."

Max by this point had choked on the air that he'd inhaled from shock.

"Kai Hiwatari is a nasty piece of work, in and outside of the dish." Spoke a familiar voice from the blaring television behind them. "He mistreats women as if they are nothing but objects by replacing one with another. He hired me days after firing his ex girlfriend, I was so embarrassed. If only I'd have known; I would never have took the position."

"It looks like your replacements are finally biting you in the ass. Michelle must be the ballsiest person I have ever met. No wonder you replaced me with her-"

Before Kai could hear the rest of that sentence, he shot Pearl a death stare which quickly sent a crippling cold shiver down her spine. Pearl suddenly lost her trail of thought and her lips sealed together as if they had been iced over.

"Well, she wasn't officially a member of our team." Max muttered aloud, "I'd say that she is just after five minutes of fame, I wouldn't worry about her, Kai. I mean, nobody watches this stupid channel anyway."

Ray twisted his lips and gazed around the room which seemed to be still be half full from the party.

'Yep, nobody watches this, at all, Max.' The Kon thought to himself. 'I'm sure Kai can sue her anyway for defame terms. So he shouldn't really be too bothered.'

"This is why you should end your relationships on good terms, Bryan." Tala nudged his head into the direction of the television, "They go on talkshows like you and humiliate you."

"Pft, maybe. But I would call the talkshow and ask them if they were ever left unsatisfied in bed just to make things awkward."

"For fuck skae." Tala sighed at Bryan's retort. "Come on guys, lets go. I'm bored now."

"Get your big butt out the way. I am love this show." Kevin waved at Tyson, "We see enough of you in the media as it is."

"Why you little-!"

"Tyson!" Hilary latched onto the scruff of his t-shirt to prevent him from lashing out. "I think its time that you sent everyone home."

Before anyone could say another word, Kai walked out of the room to head into the spare room. The door was slammed closed and no soul alive dared to disturb his slumber. He was in one foul mood, and nobody fancied signing their own death certificate tonight.

"Well, I'll take it that Kai is claiming that bedroom for the night then." Sighed Tyson, he unpicked Hilary's fingers from his t-shirt and then cracked a weak smile to his teammates. "We better go and see Daichi tomorrow. I bet he's dying to hear the latest sports news."

"Oh gosh. I bet he is." Hilary agreed, "When he gets better, I can't wait to hear his opinion on this giant mess. I think he might have a few things to say about Johnny."

That thought did make the team chuckle. But that forced laugh from inside Pearl's chest was enough to make anyone stare at her. After hearing Kai's words, she became unsure about her place here.

"You sounded like a cat who has just been thrown into cold bath." Max chuckled, "Are you coming with us to visit Daichi tomorrow? Pearl?"

Physically present, but not mentally, Pearl's loud thoughts had drowned out the sound of the team.

'He's right. I don't belong here. These guys aren't my teammates. The American Evolutions are. Speaking of which, I wonder where they ended up.'~

"Pearl!" Tyson blurted aloud, "Wake up girl."

Naturally, Pearl jumped and she shot her attention over to the loud mouthed champion, "Uh?"

"You should stay the night and come with us to visit Daichi tomorrow. He'll be keen to know how his replacement is doing." Tyson winked, "If he's feeling any better, he might be able to show you a move or two in the beyblade dish. He's been keen to blade you for a while now."
