Update (11/16/2020)
Hello, everyone, Retribrutus is here again to give you another Update from me to you regarding this story's questionable lack of updates. Don't worry this isn't going to be an announcement for a hiatus or anything. This is simply a heads up and an explanation why Chapter 6 is the Update that you see before you now. So to put things as delicately as I can: I'm going to rewrite things so that the plot can continue to focus on Michael and his ascent into becoming a hero and all of the plot threads surrounding him. If you're wondering about what will happen to the Robin plot that was introduced then don't because that plotline will happen later down the road after enough time with Michael's been established to give everyone more time to get the characters that I already introduced.
This change was necessary because when I looked back on the story I realized that the sudden shift from Michael's dilemma in L.A. to Dick's story in Gotham was a poor shift in focus. I was too caught up in establishing other heroes and this story's Dimension which is dubbed "Earth-R" which the "r" can already be deciphered based on my nickname. There's so much ground that I didn't get to cover with Michael, his mom, Caitlin, Jefferey and the events that'll lead to more plot threads and yada..yada...yada...
There's also the fact that there hasn't been much focus on the specifics of Michael's powers and what he can and can't do so expect a non-expositional montage of that happening in the next chapter in "Shazam" fashion. Just to clarify without giving spoilers, Michael's powers are still undeveloped due to most of his life being sheltered and being taught to repress his powers in order to control them, which is why he uncontrollably rocketed himself after the armored truck with too much force and freaked out about his "new" stretchy powers. He's learning/re-learning what his body's capable of and we're going to be there along the way to see how all of that turns out.
Now I'm going to be honest with you guys, I'm only going to promise to do my best with this. Its not going to be a masterpiece or what I figure a masterpiece is supposed to be. I'm going to do my best to continue writing a story for this since at the end of the day I love Super Heroes. I want to be careful with this story a bit more than DxD since I'm the one who's actually making the arcs instead of rewriting them with new additions/plot threads and changing things up like in the DxD fic. This story will be more personal with its cast before things can expand and I can introduce anyone more substantial from the well-known DC medium. Things will be slow and I know that most readers come for the fast paced story arcs, but I really have to build things up or else things won't hold much impact. Now technically, I also learned of method of writing to expedite the build up through making sure everything I write is entertaining enough to keep any lingering thoughts you have in the back of your head until the story makes you put the pieces together and appreciate the reward of the wait.
P.S.- That image of Michael for the fic is him in his future [Alpha Suit] so don't imagine him in one yet, we're going to see his cobbled together ["Beta" Suit] soon.
Now I think that should do it for now. I won't put a due date for me to turn in the chapter, I did that for DxD and felt like crap so I'll just get to work on the chapter and pump it out when I'm done.
