The Realm Of The Dead.
Solomon's Mansion.
Servants quarters.
"Today's going to be another hard one I can just tell." Grumpily thought Lilly Potter nee Evans while existing her bedroom whilst wearing a traditional brown and white maid outfit. "No doubt Mister Silvers gonna give us afternoon staff extra work like yesterday." The diseased matriarch of the potter family sighed at the thought of more duties and chores to fulfil. Yet as unappealing the idea was that still didn't stop Lilly from joining the small crowd of fellow servants that were heading towards the kitchens that were much the servants quarters was located at the back of the mansion.
"It's not that I don't understand Silvers reasoning," Lilly's eyes surveyed the crowd of servants as they marched towards their destination. Even after spending the past couple of years living in the afterlife, Lilly was still amazed at the different types and personalities of ghosts that existed within the Realm Of The Dead. "After all, the mansion is huge, and it literally takes a small army just to keep the place clean." Though Lilly knew that the reason that some staff shifts were so overworked was because the head butler was highly picky on who could get a job at Lord Solomon's Mansion. Thus making the number of active servants living within the mansion only number in the hundreds and not the thousands needed to keep the place clean at all times.
"Huh, I was lucky to even get a job here as a common maid." Lilly grimaced at the memory of her journey to Lord Solomon's mansion in search for work. At the time she had foolishly believed that it would be easy to find work at the estate since the tales of Lord Solomon's kindness was very well known throughout the afterlife. Unfortunately for the diseased potter matriarch those naive ideas were swiftly murdered when she meet the man, who would become her direct superior and the bane of her afterlife and those of the other servants.
Jack Silvers.
The raven-haired butler had been a nightmare to deal with during the interview asking several deep and personal questions most of them revolving around the time when she had been alive. Though thankfully the man was kind enough to not ask anything about her family since Lilly didn't want to remember the night when she lost James and had to leave Violet. The latter meant the world to her in the care of Sirius. After the questions were all answered, he lead the potter matriarch into the mansion and had her perform various tasks. After hours of backbreaking work Silvers, who Lilly was absolutely sure was the embodiment of everything evil which involved chores or housework had given the diseased Witch a job as a simple maid.
"Honestly, that man's the devil." Lilly thought without any real negativity since she actually did respect Silvers. However, his personality could use a little work since most of the time; he was more akin to a statue than a person. Not that Lilly would ever say that to the man's face since she would rather avoid the mountain of chores that would no doubt be given to her as punishment for disrespecting the head butler.
As the small crowd of servants plus Lilly neared the kitchens, the diseased Witch saw Jack Silvers standing at the doorway leading into the area where the crew of professional chefs created the delicious food that the servants eat before heading off to do their assigned chores within the mansion.
"Huh, speak of the devil, and he shall appear." Lilly continued towards the kitchens while trying to ignore the butler after all Silvers was probably just trying to get something to eat meaning that he wasn't Lilly's concern. Thus she could get inside the kitchens and enjoy the delicious food without having to worry about her direct superior.
"Mrs Potter a word please!"
Then again, fate seemed to love fucking with her.
Biting back a curse and casting a yearning expression towards the place that held her breakfast. Lilly straightened and fixed everything out of order with her outfit and hurriedly walked over to head butler Silvers, who had moved away from the kitchen door to allow the other servants to enter, every single one politely and respectfully greeted the man before entering the kitchens. Lilly honestly wanted to join them yet knowing that was impossible especially since it was Silvers that wanted a word with her and saying no to the man was a sure-fire way to getting a year's worth of chores added to anyone's schedule.
"Is there something that you require of me head butler Silvers, Sir?" Lilly inquired whilst keeping her tone polite and professional as was expected of every servant living within the mansion. Those that didn't follow this code of conduct usually found themselves facing a five hours stern lecture from Silvers and even more hours of backbreaking work. Swearing was also something to be avoided at any cost since the last servant caught swearing in front of the butler had their mouth washed out with soap and the guy hand been a fire elemental spirit!
"There is indeed Mrs Potter," Silvers started leaving the servants quarters with Lilly following right behind him. "As of right now I'm reassigning you away from normal maid duties so that you may take care of our Lord's soon to be adopted granddaughter." The news surprised Lilly, yet she kept calm since it wasn't unusual for ghosts to adopt young spirits that recently entered the afterlife. However, the fact that the goofy yet grandfatherly figure that was Lord Solomon would choose to adopt now after spending untold millennia alone was quite the shocker, to say the least.
The diseased Witch had to take a few minutes to process the situation before adequately responding. "I see," Lilly took a deep breath. "So what's our new mistress name?" The details on Lord Solomon's sudden interest in adopting could wait for later right now all Lilly needed to know was the new Frost'Phantom's name and what tasks were expected of her to perform.
"Violet," the name caused Lilly's blood to freeze and unimaginable fear to grip her heart. "Though Lord Solomon didn't inform me of the child's last name." The mention of being unaware of their new mistress's last name didn't help calm Lilly's fears if anything it only made them grow stronger.
"Lilly calm down It can't be little Violet!" Lilly's pace speeds up while her breath quickened which didn't go unnoticed by Silvers though he kept quiet and simply lead them both towards Violets temporary sleeping quarters. "She's safe and sound being taken care of by Sirius and living a full and fulfilling life!" The minutes ticked by swiftly and the closer Lilly got to her new mistress's room, the more her panic and fear grow.
"Here we are," Silvers said whilst they stood before Violet's temporary bedroom. "Our mistress, temporary bedroom." Silvers took ahold of the doors handle. "Now remember Mrs Potter that Mistress Violet is currently asleep meaning that we must keep our voices down so as not to awaken her." Lilly's heart thundered rapidly as the door was slowly opened it took every bit of her willpower to enter the room though once she saw who was sleeping upon the bed, Lilly released a sob of anguish.
"No, Violet, no." tears of sorrow and grief flowed down Lilly's cheeks as she gazed upon the sleeping form of her beloved daughter.
"I take it you already know our Mistress?" Silvers asked softly while keeping his tone soft and gentle as not to upset Lilly any further.
Lilly sob miserably while moving over to the bed, followed closely by Silvers. "Violet's, my daughter." The diseased Witch revealed. "The one who, I sacrificed myself to protect," Lilly needed next to Violet, and gently took ahold of the sleeping girl's hand. "The one who shouldn't be here," Lilly softly cried. "She should be with Sirius, her godfather and experiencing a fulfilling and happy life." The Witch sobbed at the knowledge that Violet has died young and was nowhere within Lord Solomon's Mansion.
As for Silvers, he kneeled next to Lilly and proceeded to gently lift her face away from Violet using his left hand. "I know It's hard to accept," the head butler pulled a white handkerchief from his pocket. "Yet the evidence is before you." Silvers wiped away Lilly's tears with surprising gentleness even though his tone still stayed the same emotionless. "Your daughter, our Mistress, is dead." The blunt statement caused Lilly to cry even more tears yet even then Silvers continued to wipe them away without so much as showing a hint of displeasure.
"And as heartbreaking as this truth is," Silvers's eyes softened as he continued to wipe away Lilly's sorrowful tears. "You must accept it and move on for not only your sake but for Violet's as well." The two servants stayed like that for a moment before standing up from their kneeling positions.
"Thank you, Mister Silvers, I needed to hear that." Lilly thanked the butler while trying her best not to break down crying again.
"Its no problem Mrs Potter." Silvers gentle placed the handkerchief into Lilly's hands. "Now please dry those tears after all you don't want the first thing Mistress Violet sees upon awakening is her mother's crying face now would you?"
Lilly took the handkerchief, and hurriedly proceeded to dry away the tears. "No, we certainly wouldn't want that." After the tears were dried, Lilly returns the handkerchief to Silvers, who returns it to his pocket.
"I'll handover your new schedule tomorrow," Silvers told Lilly whilst placing a hand upon her shoulder causing the Witch to gaze at the statue-like expression of the head butler. "But for today just stay here and be a great mother for Mistress Violet." Lilly could only nod since she planned to be nothing less than a perfect mother for Violet.
Seeing that nothing else needed to be said Silvers bowed to Lilly and exited the room leaving Lilly alone with her slumbering daughter.
"Oh, Violet." Sadly thought Lilly as she softly touched Violet's cheek, barely holding back another sob of sorrow. "You're far too young to be here." Violet's mother gently hugged her unconscious form releasing more tears as she did.
"Why did this happen to you, Violet!" Lilly drank in the skeletal and baggy clothed form of her beloved daughter, whom Lilly had selflessly sacrificed herself to protect. "Your life was supposed to be full of happiness and love," Lilly's eyes darkened at the clear abuse which Violet has suffered. "Yet it's clear that you've suffered the opposite of what Me and Janes wanted." The Witch instinctively knew that this wasn't the work of Sirius Black, the man loved Violet even got her a miniature flying broomstick as a baby.
"Sirius hasn't been raising you." Lilly reason after all if he had then Violet wouldn't be here right now. "And no one within the Wizarding world would ever harm you, which means." Lilly's eyes widen in territory as her highly intelligent mind quickly figured out where her, daughter has been staying ever since her death, and this realisation made the redhead Witch seethe with rage.
"Petunia!" Lilly's sister was the only person that Lilly could think of that would harm a child just for having magic. "No, no, no! I specifically told the Goblins, and I had written within the will that Violet wasn't to go anywhere near Petunia!" Lilly had made it clear when alive to every one of her friends that Petunia was never to have Violet. The women was horrible and wouldn't have hesitated to make Violet's life a living hell just to spite Lilly, and her sister's husband was even worse!
"How could have this happened?" Lilly bit her lower lip in worry. "There's no way that Violet should have gone to Petunia unless…" an imaginary lightbulb went off within Lilly's head as the only person capable of placing Violet with her horrible sister came to Lilly's mind.
"Dumbledore." Lilly softly hissed. "That meddlesome old bastard." the diseased Witch growled hatefully at the realisation of what her former headmaster had done to her precious daughter.
"Oh, you better hope I never get back to the Living World Dumbledore." Lilly's eyes narrowed while continuing to hug Violet. "Because if I ever do get back to Hogwarts…" Lilly's eyes glowed an ominous green colour.
"There's going to be hell to pay!"
Meanwhile, outside the bedroom.
"Well today's certainly full of surprises," Silvers spoke softly while tightening his gloves.
"The fact that Mrs Potter is Mistress Violet's mother will certainly interest Lord Solomon." The butler lazily walked away from the bedroom wanting to give the reunited family some time to themselves, plus he needed to inform the rest of the staff of Violet's status as the princess of the afterlife.
"Speaking of Lord Solomon," Silvers entered a room that was designed after the ancient Romans with a painting of Solomon standing next to a particular famous volcano before it had erupted. "I hope that he's not causing any trouble wherever he currently is located." The butler knew that Lord Solomon was a trouble magnet and caused many disasters without meaning too. A good example was the time he sank the legendary city of Atlantis whilst shopping for food how and why that leads to the city's fate Silvers didn't know and when he asked Lord Solomon all he got for an answer was.
"Let's just say that it was one hell of a shopping trip, Jack."
Needless to say Silvers just hopped that Solomon wasn't up to anything crazy.
It was a fools hope yet when it came to Solomon's antics; it was the only one he had to hold onto.
Meanwhile, Within The Living World At A Random Mall.
Sam was an ordinary and plain eighteen-year-old that was employed to work within his hometown's local mall. The days working at the mall were boring and uninteresting yet paid well, so Sam had nothing to complain about really.
"Oh, I'll take one of these, oh and two of those!"
That is until a strangely dressed old man, who had introduced himself as Solomon had arrived a few hours ago and started buying everything meant for children. It was undoubtedly making his boss happy since the greedy asshole was dutifully following the old guy around and basically becoming Solomon's servant. Not that Sam could entirely blame his boss since this Solomon guy was throwing around money like it was going out of style.
"Of course, Sir." Sam watched as his boss had two employees take multiple sets of board games and place them into a large shopping trolly which was then moved to join the massive line of trolleys that was currently reaching over half of the mall. "Is there anything else you desire Lord Solomon?" Sam had to give it to his boss; the man knew how to be a kiss-ass when he wanted to be.
"Hum," Sam nervously watched as the guy currently buying a small fortune worth of toys, clothes and childish books hummed to himself in thought. "No I think that'll do for now," the news caused Sam to release a sigh of relief since it meant that he and the small army of mall staff members wouldn't have to walk even further across the mall. "I didn't want to overwhelm my cute Granddaughter with too many gifts."
"As you say, sir." Sam rolled his eyes upon hearing the saddened tone of his boss the greedy bastard obviously wanted to get even more money out of the rich old man. "Will you be paying with cash or credit card?" The question made the rich old guy smile and before anyone could understand what was going on the old guy pulled out a small golden chest from a trolly and swiftly proceeded to open it reviling hundreds of ancient gold coins and many valuable jewels.
"I'll pay in cash." The old guy tossed the golden chest at his boss, and that caused everyone to crowd the bastard to get a proper look at the gold and jewels that had just been so carelessly thrown away by the old man. Sam turn to thank the rich guy for his generosity only to widen his eyes in disbelief when he saw that Solomon was gone and that the trolly line had also vanished like the two had never existed.
"Alright everyone settle down!" Sam's attention returned to the crowd surrounding his boss and much to his annoyance, the greedy asshole was holding the chest protectively against himself. "The money will be shared equally to those who deserve it!" Sam scoffed, knowing that meant that the bastard was going to try and keep the whole chest to himself and not give a single gold coin to the staff that had helped the rich old guy.
"Typical greedy asshole." Sam walked away from the crowd since his shift wasn't over yet. "I don't know why I'm still working for that bastard." As he left the area, Sam and the other employees were unaware that a certain ghost master had left a servant that was a master in the art of possession behind to take control of the manager of the mall. And that by the end of the month everyone there would receive a nice bonus in their pay-checks.
The Realm Of The Dead.
Violet's Temporary Bedroom.
"~Yawn!~" Violet release a cute little yawn as she slowly began to awaken from a long slumber.
"Hum, that was a good nap." Groggily thought the new princess of the ghost realm while removing the relatively soft blanket from her body, unaware that her, mother was sitting right next to the bed.
Speaking of Lilly, she could only gaze upon Violet with a mixture of love and sorrow. "Easy there Little Violet," Lilly gentle took the blanket away from Violet quickly proceeded to fold it up and place it at the foot of the bed. "We won't want an accident now, would we?" How a blanket could cause, an accident Lilly didn't know yet she wasn't about to let anything harm her little girl.
As for Violet, she only stared at the older ghost witch in confusion. "Hum, who are you?" The child ghost innocently asked while surveying the bedroom, ignorant of the pain that question had caused Lilly. "And where's Grandpa Solomon?" Lilly held back a snort of amusement at the title given to the most powerful ghost within the Realm Of The Dead.
"He's currently out at the moment," Lilly informed while sitting next to her, daughter. "Where he is and what he's doing I don't know." The older Witch shrugged her shoulders since Solomon rarely stayed within the mansion for very long. The only reason the ghost master would stay more than a few hours was when Silvers would try and make Solomon do some paperwork. Which usually ended up with Silvers doing the paperwork instead and the master of the mansion leaving to do whatever caught his fancy.
"As for who, I am," Lilly took a deep breath knowing that this could end badly if not handled correctly. "I'm your mother, Violet." The older Witch watched the emotions dance across Violet's emerald eyes. First, there was confusion than shock followed quickly by disbelief before finally setting on happiness and joy.
"Mama!" Violet jumped into Lilly's arms, and before both knew it, they were hugging and crying tears of joy after years of being apart mother and daughter had been reunited.
"Oh, how I've missed you, sweet Violet." Lilly sobbed happily as the two continued to hug, unaware that Solomon and Jack had entered the bedroom and were now just quietly watching the mother, daughter duo.
"Mama I'm so glad you're here and not in hell like auntie Petunia kept telling me." The little girl's words made Lily's blood boil.
"Oh? And what else has my sister been telling you, dear?" The temperature within the bedroom fell by a few degrees as Lilly's ghost powers began to manifest themselves.
Violet, unaware of the danger that she was putting her auntie in softly told her, mother everything that Petunia told Violet about her and James supposed death via car crash. To the verbal abuse, backbreaking chores and the relentless bullying from Dudley by the time Violet was done talking Lilly was beyond furious with Petunia.
"Petunia when I get back to the Living World you're so haunted!" The fury boiling Lilly ghostly blood demanded that Petunia pay for hurting Violet and by Death Lilly was going to make sure her, sister's final days on earth a living nightmare!
"Well this certainly is interesting." Joyfully said Solomon, who released a bit of his aura to help suppress Lilly's and make the women get control of herself before her ghostly powers went out of control. "Why when I planned to adopt Violet, I didn't think I'll gain a daughter as well." The Lord of the Mansion merrily skipped over to the bed followed dutifully by Silvers.
Violet's eyes sparkled when she saw her Grandfather. "Grandpa!" The little Witch squealed with joy and jumped off the bed and into the waiting arms of the ghost king.
"Violet!" Returned Solomon happily as he hugged his grandchild. "Have you been a good girl whilst I was away?"
Violet nodded happily while giggling. "Yep, and I've met my mama." She pointed at Lilly, who could only bow to the king of all ghosts.
"It's an honour to have you back with us, Lord Solomon." Usually Lilly wouldn't have acted so polite with Solomon yet with Silvers standing behind the master of the mansion well for the sake of avoiding a mountain of chores it was better to act polite around the ghost master until the time that Silvers left the bedroom.
"Now, now none of that formal stuff," without warning Solomon grabbed Lilly and her, Violet and himself into a three-way hug. "We're family now, and family outside of formal occasions shouldn't be so stiff with each other." The ancient ghost then suddenly point a dramatic finger at Silvers. "Otherwise will end up as stone-faced as Silvers." That earned a snort from Lilly and a giggle from Violet though the former cringed when she saw Silvers shot her an expression that promised unending amounts of chores and housework.
"As you say, Lord Solomon." Silver adjusted his gloved. "Though there is a certain matter that needs to be attended to if you recall." The mention of the matter made Solomon's expression turn serious.
"Ah, yes, of course, Jack, you're right as usual." Solomon turn too Violet. "Violet, dear, there's something that I need your help with." The Grandfather's tone was serious and full of warning. "It will be dangerous and might leave many of us as nothing more than depressed husks!" Lilly stared with worry at the Lord of the mansion while Violet gazes back at her, Grandfather with childish determination.
"I'll do it, Grandpa." Violet puffed out her chest with pride.
Solomon nodded solemnly. "Very well then let us…"
Dramatic Time Skip.
"Play Monopoly!" Solomon finished in a dramatic tone while the four of them sat down around the famous board game.
"Really Monopoly is gonna turn us into lifeless husks," Lilly asked with a deadpan expression while gazing at Lord Solomon. He had placed a black top hat upon his head and was wearing a comically oversized monocle.
"Of course!" Solomon dramatically exclaimed while Violet sat next to him with a severe expression etched upon her face. "Monopoly has ruined the lives of thousands while also enriching the blood-thirst of those who one day shall become businessmen!" Lilly didn't know whether to smack her forehead at the silliness of the situation or just laugh at Solomon's antics.
"Yes, monopoly is the game of monsters." Add Silvers, who was acting as the banker for the game.
"Only because you're the banker." Lilly deadpan at the head butler, who only struggle in response.
"Welp, I believe we've delayed long enough." Solomon's eyes glowed with determination. "Let the bloodbath begin!" Solomon handed the dice to Violet and thus began the first family game night within the mansion.
As for Violet, she would always look back to this moment and realise that this was the day when she finally found a real family with her goofy Grandfather Solomon, her loving Mother Lilly and her strict Uncle Silvers.
Violet Frost'Phantom nee Potter was finally home.
