"My gosh. Godzilla did it!" Ben exclaimed, everyone was high fiving and shaking hands with each other. Ian was smiling as he finished his chat on the phone with his grandson, who was in Osaka, watching the screen.
"Well, well. The Big G defeated Ghost G. That's great." Tim and Katie were excited. There was no time to rejoice as the dust from the explosion was clearing on screen…
Godzilla 2000 growled, saving his victory roar for until the job was done. He saw the silhouette through the smoke. The dust cleared and there stood Ghost Godzilla, still alive and standing, but not without any more scratches.
His remaining arm looked scratched, his right eye was closed and bleeding. A dorsal plate was damaged, his tail looked like part of it had been broken. Most of all, its torso was open, exposing a ribcage and beating heart.
"GRRRYYAAOOOOOOOOOOON!" The beast growled.
"SKREEEEEOOOOOOOONK!" Godzilla replied, ready to finish the job, knowing his foe was weakened. He, 2000, began to charge up a super atomic ray attack.
His back spines pulsated and glowed with blue and orange energy, an orange ball forming in his mouth and, once charged… BSSSSHH… Godzilla's super Spiral Ray shot through Ghost G, burning the heart and causing the body to light up in flames.
Ghost Godzilla, knowing the end had come again, let out one last roar just as it did waaaaaay back in 1954 all those years prior, "AAAHRRRAHRRRAAAARRYYARRRRRGYAAAAAHHRRARRONK!" Finally, glowing with fire and energy, Ghost Godzilla exploded, blood and shattered bones filling the air.
The only surviving part was Ghost G's skull, which landed at Godzilla's feet. Not taking a single chance, Godzilla stomped on it, bisecting it and then took his time burning it to nothing but complete ashes with his radioactive breath.
"SKRREEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNK!" Godzilla roared, rearing his head back to the sky, "SKREEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNK SKREEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNK! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAOOOOOOOONGK! AYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRNGK!"
A black-eyed Doctor John Koschizawa emerged from the ruins of his ship, having just watched what had unfolded from inside, outrage, malice burning in his eyes and blood boiling.
"MY PLANS!" He screamed, "I WAS GOING TO MAKE A NEW WORLD, THE DINOSAURS WOULD RISE AGAIN. PEOPLE WOULD RESPECT MY BRILLIANCE! CURSE YOU GODZILLA! CURSE YOU! RRAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGH NOOOOOOOOOO!"
Godzilla heard the madman and looked down upon him, growling. "What?" Koschizawa knew what was going to happen next. "No no no no! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Those were his final words as he would be burnt to a skeleton by the G-Man's fire breath.
"SKREEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNK!" Godzilla bellowed, watching the maniac burn, failing to notice that Doctor Serizawa's ghost was watching, a cold smile on his pale face.
"So falls a mad scientist and the spirit of the monster that served as the grandpa of all monsters." Alice said, kissing Ben on the cheek.
"So the 1954 Godzilla will never again return?" Yano asked.
Ian shrugged, "Dunno. I bloody think so. Let us hope that never happens again."
Kamatakura approached the computer console, observing the ruins of Tokyo, nodding and smiling weakly.
"Time to start over again for probably the 4th time." He said, "Looks like Tokyo's reconstruction is gonna span the timeframe of the next nine or ten years."
He shrugged, breathing in some fresh air. "I could live with that. Maybe we can move the capital to Osaka, I miss that city and I have wondered what it would be like to run a country from another city in Japan like Osaka."
The Johnston family rolled their eyes. "Hoo boy!" Ben said, "That's something I'd enjoy. In the meantime, I think we're gonna have to go to bed somewhere."
"Our house probably survived." Alice suggested, "We could get a chopper and get home before sunrise and get a lot of sleep."
Tim yawned, "That's an idea I could live with." Katie nodded in agreement.
Ian was yawning, "I must return to the university and get some shut eye too. I am feeling exhausted."
Everyone didn't notice Dr. Serizawa's ghost watching from nearby, smiling proudly, he could now rest in peace again with his nemesis no more forever.
Exhausted from a long, drawn-out battle, Godzilla decided it was time to leave Tokyo and head back to his island for some rest.
He marched away through the city back to the ocean, passing by survivors who had hid in the bunkers until the radiation from the nuclear blasts had subsided by 10%, growling a few times and not even noticing the citizens.
Reaching the nearest beach, the beast marched into the surf, leaving behind the mainland again, swimming back out into the Pacific ocean.
The military, who had been watching, gave a salute, a few fired off some cannons and rifles into the air in a gun salute, honoring Godzilla for defeating his past self. Hearing the guns, Godzilla turned his head to see the scene before turning his focus back to the Pacific, letting out another roar.
As Japan faded from sight behind him, Godzilla stayed above the surface, feeling the fresh air as the darkness of night waned. He could not help himself but let out another roar.
His roars let the world know that it was safe again for now, he had defeated a ruthless enemy believing himself to be him and proved there could be only one King of the Monsters to walk away with that title.
The next time another giant monster appeared, Godzilla 2000 would come and decimate the beast like he did with the aliens and Ghost Godzilla...
-The End-
