"Anos!"

Anos tilts his head toward the sound of Lay's voice. He hears rushing footsteps, and then Lay is close enough to see.

(…well.)

He's definitely close enough for Lay to see him, though, because there's a shocked-sounding intake of breath.

"What—?"

Anos waves him off. "I've been otherwise occupied. Is Sasha keeping her promise?"

"…I think she has things under control up above, if that's what you mean." Lay's voice is tight, but even enough. It probably counts as impressive, under the circumstances.

Anos just nods, satisfied, before marching forward and letting Lay fall into step behind. If he's surprised by Anos getting around this easily, he doesn't comment on it - just starts to update him on what he's missed above, which Anos listens to with half an ear as he leads the way toward where his enemies are keeping things that are his, thank you.

Eventually a thought occurs to him and he hums, ignoring the automatic - and useless - urge to glance back behind him.

"Lay?"

Lay cuts himself off mid-sentence. "—hm?"

"I assume I can trust you to put my eyes back where they belong, when we get there."

To his credit, Lay only stumbles for a moment before he's following smoothly again. It takes him a few moments to actually respond, though, and when he does it's to confirm, "You… want me to put your eyes back into your head."

Anos just shrugs. "It's a little fiddly, if you can't see what you're doing."

Lay's answering laugh is only a little hysterical-sounding. It really is fairly impressive, all things considered.

"Which… you can't, because your eyes aren't currently attached."

"Exactly."

Silence, and then Lay speeds up to walk closer beside him. "Well. I'm honored, I think."

(He's mostly just there, actually, but… it's no harm, really.)
