Chapter 2
Battle at the Big Top
As the final blow was struck by Filia, the duel ended with Jason's duel disk disengaging and the holograms disappeared but Filia stuck around.
"Did…did we win?" Filia asked questioning if what happened, happened.
She then turned toward Jason, to see him with a smile and nodded his head cementing her thoughts as she jumped into the air with joy.
"WE WON!" Filia shouted
"I told you we would" Jason said as he placed his d-tablet away
"Yeah, we made a good team don't you think so" Filia said until Samson spoke up.
"I hate to spoil the moment but I think we need to have "chat" with our skeleton friend here" Samson said referring to Skull Knight.
"Right, good point Samson, we need to figure out where the Skull Girl is" Filia said looking at the downed minion.
"Also, I want to figure out why there using a card game to fight us" Samson said as Filia made her way to the minion.
Once Filia was standing over the skeleton, Samson then grabbed the undead warrior by his limbs and brought him up making him face to face with Filia.
"Alright you, start talking, where's the Skull Girl?!" Filia demanded
"And if don't I'll turn you into a chew toy" Samson said licking his lips to emphasize his point.
But Skull Knight said nothing, it actually did even look to be alive because of how limb its body is, Jason saw this and started to think that maybe this interrogation was pointless. His thoughts were confirmed when all of sudden Skull Knight then turned gray and started to turn to dust and blew away in the wind.
"What the?! What just happened!?" Samson shouted surprised by this
"Maybe because he lost, he must have ran out energy and couldn't stay undead" Jason said catching both Filia's and Samson's attention.
"You may be right after all whatever isn't useful to her anymore is just throw away" Samson said looking less then pleased he wasn't able to get any information out the skeleton.
"Well either way now that were back to normal we can finally…" Fillia started to say until suddenly pillar of black hair surrounded Filia out now where and after it dispersed Filia was back to her ghost chibi form.
"WHAT?! Oh come on I'm back to looking like this again?!" Filia shouted
"Oh that must sting. Well since that's over why don't we get out of here" Jason said grabbing his bike
"And go where?" Filia asked wondering what Jason was thinking
"Well since you don't live here you probably need a place to stay so I thought I take you to my house" Jason said surprising Filia.
"Really? You would do that for us" Filia asked only to get a smile from Jason
"Come on, I don't live very far from here" Jason said as he set his bike up.
Soon enough, both Filia and Jason then made the trip back to Jason's house. After a while Jason and Filia made it to Jason's house which was a small little brown one story house, and after putting his bike away in the garage Jason and Filia then made their way inside to find a very cozy little house.
"You live here?" Filia said
"Yep, it's not much but it's nice" Jason said
"Better than your old apartment kid" Samson said
"It what I could afford Samson!" Filia said with a humph
"Well, now that were here why don't we …" Jason started to say until.
KABOOM
A loud explosion went off shaking the house, Filia then went into a battle stance think it was an enemy attack.
"IT'S THE SKULL GIRL SHE FOUND US!" Samson shouted until Jason let out a sigh and look of annoyance
"It's not the Skull Girl" Jason said as he walked over to one of the doors which seemed to be spilling out smoke and knocked.
"It's not? Then who is it" Filia asked
Her answer came to her when the door suddenly opened and out came a tall woman with long blond hair with a silver streak in it; she also had brown eyes behind a pair of glasses and was wearing a white lab coat with a yellow tube top and blue jean shorts which reach all the way to her ankles.
"Liz, did one of your experiment blow up again?" Jason said as the women fixed her glasses which were slightly crooked on her face.
"Yes, I may or may not have failed another experiment but this time I was really close" The women said which just made Jason groan.
"You say that every time" Jason said but just shock it off, "whatever, I just came to see if you're okay" Jason said
"Well I'm doing just fine, thank you for asking, now if you excuse me" Liz said closed the door again leaving an annoyed Jason and a confused Filia.
"Um…who was that?" Filia said wondering who the strange girl was.
"That was my sister Elizabeth Hall, she's a paranormal scientist" Jason said making Filia raise a brow at this
"Really, she's your sister?" Filia said finding it hard to believe that those two were related.
"yep, so now that's been cleared up, why don't we hit the hay" Jason said just as Filia let out yawn.
"Yeah, that sound like a good idea" Filia said as Jason and Filia made their way to his room.
Once he opened the door what they saw was a small bedroom with a small queen sized bed in the middle, a closet to the right, a dresser at the head of his bed, and all around the walls of the room were posters of various Duel Monster creatures all around.
"You really like this game don't you" Samson said with a bit of sarcasm
"Yeah, I do" Jason said scratching his neck in embarrassment.
Then after a quick shower and a quick change into his pajamas, Jason jumped into bed and fell to sleep ready for what tomorrow will bring.
Next morning, Filia was the first to wake up from her sleep, stretching her arms out as she let out a yawn. As she got up from her long overdue sleep, she then looked over and saw Jason still sleeping. Filia then looked over at his clock on his dresser and found it to be 8:00 in the morning.
"I better get him up, we have a job to do" Filia said, she then floated down to Jason and started to nudge him trying to wake him up but it was no good seeing that the boy was literally sleeping like a rock.
"Come on, wake up Jason" Filia said now pulling on Jason's check now but still wouldn't wake him up, "By the Trinity, WAKE UP!" Filia shouted at Jason only for him suddenly get smacked in the face by Jason's hand.
"You can't defeat me, I activate my Trap!" Jason shouted still asleep as he threw his hands in the air only to go quiet again.
"Uh, Why can't wake him up in defense mode" Filia said rubbing her sore face after getting hit by Jason.
It wasn't until Jason's alarm clock went off that Jason finally woke up. He then crawled out of bed and let out yawn as he stretched out his limbs release all the tense from his body.
"Man, that was good sleep" Jason said until he saw Filia on his dresser rubbing her red check
"Ouch, what happened to you?" Jason asked which got him a nasty glare from Filia
"You smacked me in the face" Filia stated, as Jason flinched at this
"Oh, sorry" Jason said embarrassed by his "Sleeping Habits".
So after that was cleared up, Jason then slipped into his usual attire consisting of his red hoody, black jeans and his red tennis shoes. So after changing his clothes both him and Filia both made their way to the kitchen to get some breakfast, and after look for a bit they decided to go with cereal, Fruit Loops to be exact. So after getting there bowls of cereal Jason decided to get to understand Filia and her world a little bit better.
"So Filia, what's New Meridian like anyway?" Jason asked the little chibi girl
"Oh, well I guess the best way to describe it would be a busy city with many ups and downs" Filia said
"I see what about the people, what are they like?" Jason asked
"Well there all lots of different people ranging from Humans, Ferials and Dagonians" Filia said
"Ferials?" Jason asked confused
"Yes, Ferials are people with animal features like cat ears" Filia said as Jason took in that information.
Then after a while the door to Jason's sister room opened out came Elizabeth with a very exhausted look on her face.
"Moring, sis" Jason said but Liz didn't reply as she just walked into the kitchen, and poured herself a cup of coffee and made her way back into her room.
"Wow, rude" Filia said
"Naw, that's normal she's just not morning person, but after she has her cup of coffee she's back to normal" Jason said confusing Filia
"Your family's weird" Samson suddenly said catching everyone attention
"Oh, good morning, you were asleep for a while" Jason said with a smile but Samson just gave low humph at him in response.
"Whatever, so got anything to eat" the parasite said.
So after letting Samson finish the last of Filia's cereal Jason and Filia then started to formulate their plan for today.
"So now what?" Jason asked
"Well, I think we should find the others" Filia said shocking Jason
"Others? You mean there are more of you?" Jason asked
"Yep, there were eight of us that were sent here; unfortunately it seems we were separated" Filia replied
"I see, but there is one problem, we don't even know where they are" Jason said making Filia look a little downcast
"Well, what about your sister" Samson said, which gained Jason's attention
"Hmm, maybe after all my sister does keep tabs on everything that happens around the city" Jason said which gave Filia a bit of hope
"Alright then, let's go ask your sister" Samson said
So with their minds made up Jason and Filia then stepped in front of Liz's door and with a quick knock Liz opened the door only this time looking more awake then a while ago.
"Hey Sis, do you have a moment?" Jason asked
"Yeah, what do you need?" Liz asked
"Well I was wondering if you have noticed anything strange yesterday." Jason said as Liz thought about it.
"Well, there was strange meteor shower yesterday; I even marked the areas where some of the meteors hit" Liz said which gave Jason and Filia a look of hope.
"Great, you think you can give us a map of the locations" Jason asked
"Well, I could but unfortunately my computer had some glitches, so the data is a little scrambled so I only have one location right now" Liz said causing them to deflate at this
'Well, one is better than nothing' Jason thought
"You mind telling me where it is" Jason asked only for Liz to hand him a piece of paper with a map of the city with a red dot on it.
"I thought you would ask that so I made copy anyway" Liz said as Jason took the map from her.
"Thanks" Jason said
"No problem bro, now if you excuse me" Liz said as she closed the door
"Wow, that was easy" Filia said surprised by how easy it was
"Yeah, my sister is really laid back, so she doesn't mind what I ask her, as long it doesn't interfere with her work" Jason said as he looked over the map.
"So where is the first crash site?" Samson asked
"According to this map, the crash site is located around the abandoned circus" Jason said
"Great, then what are we waiting for" Filia said with excitement
So after grabbing his bike both Filia and him made their way to their destination. After a while they had arrived only to find an empty old Circus, with old tattered tents, rusty rides and torn down stands.
"Um…this looks…fun" Filia said unnerved by the sight of the place
"Yeah, I know it doesn't look very…inviting does it" Jason said looking at the eerie looking circus
"What happened here?" Samson asked
"No one knows, this is not even the only creepy place around, you'll find places like this all around the city" Jason said shocking Filia and Samson.
"And people don't even question it?" Filia asked
"Yep, most people just ignore these places and carry on with their lives" Jason said further confusing them
"This is one strange town" Samson said
So after parking his bike, both Jason and Filia both started to walk around the circus to try to find anything, but unfortunately they could not find anything, just old carnival stands and rusty rides. After a few hours they made their way to the middle of the circus with a very tired Jason and a very dishearten Filia.
"We checked everywhere and we didn't find anything" Filia said
"Well not everywhere" Jason said looking ahead and right in front of them was a giant white and red tent, the Big Top.
"Oh come on, we couldn't find anything for the last few hours, what makes you think we'll find anything in there" Samson said
"Well it worth a shoot" Jason said, so without further ado they then made their way inside, only while they were entering something seemed to be following them inside.
Once inside all they saw was large tent with rows of bleachers and the high rope section, Jason and Filia then started to look around the place trying to find anything but again then turned up empty handed.
"Like I said nothing" Samson said
"Well at least we tried" Filia said still feeling sad
"Sorry you two, now let's get…" Jason started to say until; a barrel came flying at him.
"AHHH" Jason shouted as he jumped out of the way of the barrel
"What the…where did that come from?!" Jason shouted looking around for anyone or anything that could have thrown that barrel until.
"You better leave now, or the next one won't miss" a female voice said coming from the darkness
'What…that voice…can it be' Filia thought
"Cerebella?! Is that you?!" Filia shouted out into the darkness there was moment of silence for a while until the voice spoke again.
"Filia? Is that you?" the voice asked which caused a smile to spread on Filia's face.
"YES! YES, IT'S ME!" Filia shouted back
Then from one of the tops of Trapeze Poles a small figure jumped down, and with a graceful landing came a small chibi girl, just like Filia. She had green fair tied up in a ponytail, along with tan skin and black eyes. She also wore an orange low cut dress with a black and orange strap around her front but showed a large amount of cleavage, along with white sleeves that reach down to her hands and a pair of orange and black stockings, ending it off with a pair of black heeled shoes with skulls on them.
"So, it really is you" Cerebella said as a smile grew on her face as well as Filia.
"Cerebella!" Filia shouted as she rushed forward as she hugged Cerebella, "I'm so glad I found you!" Filia said
"I'm glad to see you too" Cerebella said, she then looked over Filia's shoulder and saw Jason.
"So who is that?" Cerebella pointing at Jason
"Oh that's Jason, He's been helping me get by in this world, ever since I got to this world" Filia said
Filia then let go of Cerebella as she floated up to Jason's eye level, she then looked at him a little bit with a puzzling look.
"You look familiar" Cerebella said only to gain a deadpan look from Jason.
"I should, you threw a barrel at me" Jason said, Cerebella's eyes then widen in realization then to horror as she realized what she did.
"Oh shoot, Sorry about that, I was just defending myself" Cerebella said in a panicked tone but Jason just smiled at her.
"Forget about, it was nothing" Jason said surprising her
"You forgive me, just like that?" Cerebella questioned
"Yeah, I mean you said you were just defending yourself, so who am I to judge" Jason said making Cerebella smile.
"Wow, you sure are understanding" Cerebella said
"I try, but I have to ask, how did you throw that giant barrel anyway?" Jason asked
"Oh, with this" Cerebella said, she then pulled out an orange hat of sorts with a skull embedded on the front.
"A hat?" Jason said skeptically
"Yeah, this my living weapon, Vice Versa" Cerebella said, Jason still looked skeptical
"You sure about that?" Jason said doubting her, but Cerebella just rolled her eyes.
"Here, let me show you" Cerebella said
She then placed the hat on her head and then, without warning, the hat then sprout two large muscular arms from the sides of it, greatly surprising him.
"Pretty cool, huh" Cerebella said with a smirk seeing the look on Jason's face.
Jason then quickly recovered from his shock as looked at Cerebella with astonishment.
"Wow, that sure is one "handy" hat" Jason said snickering at his pun, but all that got was a groan from Filia and Cerebella.
"Please no puns, we deal with those enough" Cerebella said looking very annoyed stopping Jason's chuckling.
"Sure thing, anyway we should get out of here" Jason said until all of sudden the spotlights in the area suddenly turned on, surprising everyone.
"You three, are not going anywhere" an old scratchy voice said
"What the…who's there?!" Cerebella shouted just then the spotlights then changed direction and pointed to the center ring and there in the light was revealed a green decaying zombie, which was wearing a ring master's outfit.
"Hello children, allow me to introduce myself, I am one of loyal servants of the Skull Girl, Dead Ringer" The zombie said giving a bow.
"The Skull Girl?! So she already has her minions up and running around" Cerebella said raising her hats arms ready for battle only to be stopped by Filia.
"I'm sorry Cerebella but I can't allow you to fight him, I tried one time but I couldn't even scratch one of them" Filia said causing Cerebella to look a little frighten.
"Then how do we fight?!" Cerebella asked until Filia smiled
"Just leave it to Jason" Filia said confusing her
"Him? He doesn't look like someone who can put up a fight" Cerebella said
"Trust me, when I say this fighting is a little bit different here" Samson said until he realized something, "Hey that reminds me, did you happen to find a card with your picture on it?" Samson asked further confusing Cerebella.
"Yeah actually, I didn't know what it was but I held onto it just in case" Cerebella said as she took off her hat then pulled out a duel monsters card with her picture on it.
"Great! Now quickly give it to Jason" Filia said, again confusing Cerebella.
"Why?" She asked
"Just trust me" Filla said pleading her too.
Seeing this, Cerebella decided to not question it and trust what Filia and Samson are talking about.
"Hey Jason, catch" Cerebella said throwing the card at Jason; he then turned around in time to catch the card, when he looked at his eyes opened in surprise.
'This is…' Jason thought but seeing this he then placed the card into his deck and gave Cerebella a smile.
"Thanks Cerebella, you won't regret it" Jason said which kind of made her feel a little bit better
"Sure thing, now get that creep" She said
"That's the plan" Jason said stepping forward to face the zombie
"So child, you plan to face me?" Dead Ringer asked
"You better believe it, because if you what these girls, you're going to have to face me" Jason said, then the zombie let out a dreadful laugh, then out of his arm sprout a duel disk made of rotten flesh.
"Then prepare yourself, for soon I will put you in your grave" Dead Ringer said
"We'll see about that, let's do this" Jason said as he threw his d-tablet into the air only to come down and land on his arm and extend out on his arm.
They then placed there decks in there duel disks, then shuffled them; just as they drew there five cards.
"DUEL!" they shouted as the duel began
Dead Ringer: 4000
Jason: 400
"What? There fighting with a card game?" Cerebella said confused
"Yep" Filia replied
"How does that work?!" Cerebella asked completely lost
"Don't worry, you'll see" Samson said, making Cerebella more confused but just shrugged it off
"Okay whatever you say" Cerebella said as she turned her attention to, what she assumed to be a boring card game.
"Alright then, flesh bag I will go first, and to start things off I will activate the continues spell Call of the Mummy" Dead Ringer said playing his spell which depicted a pair of mummies rising from there coffin.
"Thanks to this spell, one per turn, since I don't have any monster on my field, I can special summon one zombie monster from my hand" he said
"Well…that's not good" Jason said while Filia was a little nervous
"Now with my spells effect I will now Special Summon Skull Flame" the zombie said
Then a large flaming skeleton appeared on his field wearing a purple cloak and a red cape appeared on his field.
Skull Flame: Atk: 2600 Def: 2000
"WHAT THE… did that zombie just summon a flaming skeleton?!" Cerebella said in shock
"Yep" both Filia and Samson said surprising Cerebella by how calm they were.
"And you're okay with this?!" Cerebella said
"Well we did go through this already" Filia said
"oh" Cerebella said as turned her attention back to the duel
"Now then, I activate Skull Flames ability, now once per turn I can Special summon one "Burning Skull Head" from my hand" Dead Ringer said
Then Skull Flame then produced a ball of fire which then morphed until it formed a flaming skull.
Burning Skull Head Atk: 1000 Def: 800
"Ha, that thing doesn't look very strong" Cerebella said smugly
"I won't say that if I were you" Jason said catching Cerebella's attention
"Why?" Cerebella asked
"Because every monster in this game can be deadly either be it attack points or its ability" Jason said
"He's right you know" Dead Ringer said catching there attention, "Because you see, since Burning Skull Head was special summon you take 1000 points of damage" He said
Burning Skull Head then opened his mouth then shoot out a fireball at Jason, Jason then raised his arms just as the fireball impacted him, hissing in pain from heat of the fire.
Jason: 4000 – 1000 = 3000
"Now, I play one card facedown and end my turn" Dead Ringer said as a facedown card appeared on his field
"Hey! That was cheap shot!" Samson shouted at the zombie
"Oh man, this is bad we just started the duel and were already behind in life points" Filia said
Jason then lowered his arms and looked at the zombie with determination, ready to fight this zombie.
"Alright you walking corpse, It my turn, I draw" Jason said drawing his next card, "Now I summon Achacha Archer" Jason said
Then a little archer appeared on his field wielding a bow and arrow. He also wore old medieval clothing with a metal mask covering his face expect his eyes.
Achacha Archer Atk: 1200 Def: 600
"Since you dinged me, I'm going to ding you back, cause since I summoned Achacha Archer he can dish out 500 points of damage" Jason said just as his archer let loose a flaming arrow at the zombie, as it went through his chest.
Dead Ringer: 4000 – 500 = 3500
"Psst, luck shot" Dead Ringer said dusting off the area of his jacket that got singed
"Maybe but this won't, because Achacha Archer is going to attack your Burning Skull Head" Jason said
Achacha Archer then nocked another arrow into it bow and fired at the skull, piercing it and causing it to shatter into pieces.
Dead Ringer: 3500 – 200 = 3300
"Now I place two cards facedown and end my turn" Jason said placing his own face down cards appeared
"Grrr, little brat I'll make you pay for that, I draw" Dead Ringer said drawing his next card, "Now little boy prepare yourself because now my Skull Flame is going to attack your Archer" Dead Ringer said
Skull Flame then summoned a fire ball and shot it at Achacha Archer causing it to turn into ash and shatter into pieces.
Jason: 3000 – 1400 = 1600
"Jason! Are you oaky?!" Filia shouted, even Cerebella were shocked by this.
"Yeah, I'm good and I'll be better when I activate my trap Damage Condenser" Jason said as one his face down's flipped up showing a liquid generator with electricity arcing off it.
"Now since I took battle damage this turn, I can discard one card then special summon one monster from my deck who's attack is equal or less then the damage I took" Jason said as he discarded one card, "Now I summon Dododo Witch" Jason said has little Viking looking girl appeared on his field wielding a staff.
Dododo Witch Atk: 1200 Def: 1600
"Wow that was smart; he used his own opponent's move to his advantage" Cerebella said impressed by Jason's move
"Yeah I know right, this game has so much to offer, it makes it so exciting" Filia said looking amazed
"psst, whatever, it won't matter in the end, now I activate the spell Book of Life now by banishing one monster from your graveyard I can now special summon a zombie monster for my graveyard, so I bring back Burning Skull Head" Dead Ringer said, then out Jason's graveyard slot Achacha Archer was removed from the game while Dead Ringer got his flaming skull back.
"And don't forget when Burning Skull Head is Special Summoned you take 1000 points of damage" the zombie said as the flaming skull shot another fireball at Jason causing him to raise his arms to defend himself.
Jason: 1600 – 1000 = 600
"And with that I end my turn" Dead Ringer said
'Ah man, this duel just barley started and I'm already way behind" Jason said but as he lowered his arms he then flinched as he felt the pain from the flames.
"Man, what is going on? Why does this hurt so much, it's just like last time" Jason said
"Oh right, you don't know" Dead Ringer said catching everyone's attention
"Know what?" Jason asked
"Well you see, child, thanks to the power of Skull Girl we are able use this game you love so much against you" Dead Ringer replied a wicked smile spreading on his face
"What are you talking about?" Filia asked
"I mean that thanks to her power, now we can use this game to deal out real damage!" Dead Ringer said shocking them all.
"WHAT! Then all those times that Jason was attacked he was being harmed!" Filia shouted
"You slime! How dare you use underhanded tactics like that!?" Cerebella shouted pointing an accusing finger at the zombie.
"Ha, So what, if the Skull Girl wishes it then I will do it, besides it's not my fault that your little friend here can't take a hit" Dead Ringer said looking at Jason
Filia and Cerebella then looked over to Jason and to their surprise he had his head down with eyes shadowed by his hair.
"Jason?" Filia said wondering if her friend is okay
"Hey, are you okay?" Cerebella asked wondering as well what could be wrong
There was a long moment of silence afterward, no one said anything, the air was tense until suddenly a scratchy laughter was heard coming from Dead Ringer.
"HAHAHA! What's the matter kid?! Lost the will to fight or are you so scared that you can't continue?!" Dead Ringer shouted at Jason with huge smile.
There was silence again as Dead Ringer waited for Jason to respond. There was no noise for a long time until finale Jason finale spoke in very low voice.
"Unforgivable" Jason said catching Dead Ringer by surprise.
"What?" Dead Ringer said confused
Jason then looked back up to reveal his eyes, eyes that were filled with a burning righteous rage.
"IT'S UNFORGIBABLE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!" Jason shouted at the zombie shocking every one, "YOU WOULD DARE YOU THIS GAME, THIS GAME THAT HAS BROUGHT THIS WORLD TOGETEHR, FOR SUCH EVIL WAYS, IT HORRABILE AND IT CAN NEVER GO UNPUNISHED! SO NOW I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN!" Jason shouted out at the zombie shocking every one by his speech.
"Wow, I never knew this game meant so much to him" Filia said astonished by Jason's speech
"Yeah, the guy's got heart I'll give him that" Cerebella said with a smile
"Alright then, it my turn now, I draw!" Jason said drawing his new card.
Looking at it, Jason then grew a smile on his face then turned toward Filia.
"Hey Filia?" Jason said catching Filia's attention
"Yeah" Filia asked
"Want to help me prove my point?" Jason asked then a smile a appeared on Filia's face
"After that speech, you bet" Filia replied
"Um…what are you taking about?" Cerebella asked confused
"Don't worry you'll see" Samson said with a smirk
(Play "Yusei theme")
"Alright then , it time to break on through, since I control a level 4 monster I can now Special summon "Skull Spirit: Filia from my hand" Jason said playing Filia's card.
"That's my cue" Filia said
She then jumped from the sidelines and placed herself on the field alongside DoDoDo Witch.
Skull Spirit: Filia Atk: 500 Def: 500
"Filia, you're a card too?!" Cerebella said surprised
"Yep and that's not even half it" Filia replied
"She's right, because sense I Summoned Filia by her own effect, her level goes up to level four" Jason said has her level increased.
Skull Spirit: Filia LV: 4
"Now I overlay Level four Dododo Witch and level four Skull Spirit: Filia" Jason announced
Then Filia and Dododo Witch both turned into brown and purple energy and shot out into the sky, just as a Galaxy Portal appeared above their heads and they flew into it.
"Heroic Warrior with a pure heart, come forth to stand up against all evil, XYZ SUMMON, Come forth Skull Girl Warrior: Filia" Jason chanted then the portal imploded and out of portal came Filia in her Xyz form with her overlay units orbiting her.

"Wow, just wow" Cerebella said staring in wonder at the spectacle that she witnessed
"It's good to be back" Filia said stretching out her limbs
"You said it kid" Samson replied stretching out his tendrils
"Alright then, Filia attack Skull Flame, FENRIR DRIVE" Jason commanded
"You got it" Filia said
She then rushed at Skull Flame ready to delivery her blow.
"At this time I activate Filia's ability, by using one overlay unit, since Filia's is battling a monster she now gains half of that monster attack points until the end phase" Jason said as one of Filia's overlay units were absorbed into her body.
Skull Girl Warrior: Filia Atk: 2500 + 1300 = 3800
"Also since I detached Skull Spirit: Filia from her it's ability activates, which means one of your monsters loses 300 attack points equal to it level" Jason said as black tendrils then wrapped around Skull Flame draining it power.

"It's over!" Jason and Filia said
Filia then went into slide then, using Samson, she then created a spiked boot and tripped up Skull Flame, then she then quickly stood up, Samson's mouth then opened wide and his teeth started to rotate like a buzz saw chain. Then launched herself into the air and started to chew away at Skull Flame. Filia then went above the skeleton and chomped down on Skull Flame, shattering it. The shockwave of the blast started to head toward the Zombie until.

"I activate my trap, Destruct Potion" Dead Ringer said flipping over his face down which depicted Dark Ruler Ha Des absorbing the power from Dark King of the Abyss.
"Now I tribute one monster on my field then I gain life points equal to that monster's attack points, so I tribute Burning Skull Head, then I gain 1000 life points" Dead Ringer said just as his monster turned into particles and healed him, just as he took the attack.
Dead Ringer: 3300 + 1000= 4300 – 3600 = 700
"Darn it! We were so close!" Jason said as Filia returned to her side of the field.
"Well, at least we did some damage on him" Filia said reassuringly
"Yeah, I guess so. Well that's all we can do now, I end my turn and since I did Filia's Attack points go back to normal" Jason said as Filia powered down.
Skull Girl Warrior: Filia Atk: 3800 – 1300 = 2500
"Now it's my turn, child, I draw" Dead ringer said then a smile then spread on his face.
"I don't like that look on his face" Filia said unnerved by the zombie's smile
"Yeah, me neither" Jason said
"First I activate the spell Foolish Burial to send one monster from my deck to the graveyard" Dead Ringer said as he played his card which depicted an arm rising out of the grave holding a shovel.
"Why would he do that?" Filia asked confused by his move
"Seems dumb to me" Cerebella commented
"Maybe, but some monster's abilities can be activated from the graveyard, so maybe he's doing that" Jason said
Then a card from Dead Ringer's deck popped out, he then grabbed it placed it in his graveyard.
"Now then, time for the real fun, now I banish Skull Flame from my graveyard so I can summon this, Supersonic Skull Flame!" Dead Ringer said as he summoned his new Monster.
His new monster then came running out on to the field, just like Skull Flame it was flaming skeleton, expect this one had extravagant robes, with a red cape on his back and his bottom half was golden horse body.

"Okay, that is one scary monster" Filia said looking scared of the new monster.
"Now Supersonic Skull Flame attack and destroy Skull Girl Warrior: Filia" Dead Ringer commanded as his monster rushed at Filia, with a fireball at the ready.
"I don't think so, I activate Filia's second ability" Jason said
"WHAT?!" Dead Ringer shouted in shock
"Wait, I have another ability?" Filia asked
"Once per turn, when Filia is attacked by a monster, she can use one Overlay Unit and negate that attack" Jason said as Filia absorbed her last overlay unit.
Supersonic Skull Flame then launched a fireball at Filia but Samson then created a shield of hair and blocked the attack.
"Wow, that was close" Filia said letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding
"Yeah but were still in this thing" Jason said
"Oh. I don't think so" Dead Ringer said catching there attention, "I now activate Supersonic Skull Flame's ability which allows him to inflict 400 points of damage for each Burning Skull Head in my graveyard" Dead Ringer said
"That's okay, he only has one of those Burning Skull Heads in his graveyard which means were still good" Filia said but Jason and Cerebella were not convinced.
'I wonder why he decided to activate that ability, just by watching this game I know that players don't just activate ability without a plan' Cerebella thought, if there's anything that she learned while working for the Medicis is to expect everything.
'He must of known that amount of damage isn't enough to win…unless' Jason thought until it hit him.
"I guess you figured it out" Dead Ringer said then out of graveyard came not one but two Burning Skull Flames, floating alongside Supersonic Skull Flame.
"What! I thought he only had one!" Filia shouted in fear
"No Filia, he sent it there at the beginning of the turn with Foolish Burial" Jason explained shocking her
"That's right and now since I have two Burning Skull Heads you now take 800 points of damage, farewell!" Dead Ringer shouted
The two Skulls then turned into fireballs and shot toward Jason.
"JASON, NO!" Filia shouted as the fireballs went around her and went toward him.
"HAHA! Now burn you brat!" Dead Ringer said the fireballs no more than a few feet away, until all of sudden a purple portal opened up in front of Jason, and then out of it came entire swarm of tomatoes with cartoon eyes wearing football helmets.
"What the heck?" Filia said dumbfounded by the wall of tomatoes
"Well…that's a thing" Cerebella said completely dumbfounded by the strange occurrence
The fireballs then impacted the wall of tomatoes keeping Jason save and his life points untouched.
"WHAT! What just happened?!" Dead Ringer shouted in anger
"Simply I just banished my little friend Interceptomato from my graveyard and by doing that, all effect damage I take is reduced to zero" Jason said with a smirk which infuriated Dead Ringer.
"But how did that card get in the graveyard?" Filia asked confused
"It was with Damage Condenser, he discarded it when he activated it" Cerebella said with a smile
"Good eye Cerebella" Jason said
"Ah thanks" Cerebella replied with a smile
"Grrrr, you just got lucky but next turn your finished, I end my turn" Dead Ringer said with sneer
"Then it my turn, I draw" Jason said drawing
He then looked at his card and grimaced at it.
'Dododo Warrior, he's not enough to win this duel and Filia's is out of overlay which means she doesn't stand a chance against that Supersonic Skull Flame…unless" Jason said looking at his last facedown
"I activate the trap Jar of Greed and with it I can now draw one card" Jason said as trap flipped up to show a red jar with a greedy person's face on it.
He then placed his fingers on his top card then took a long breath and prepared to draw hopefully not his last card.
'Alright then one more chance here goes nothing' Jason thought and with that he then drew his card.
He then looked at and to his shock he saw it was actually Cerebella's card, he then smiled and looked over at Cerebella.
"Hey, Cerebella I think it's time for you to shine" Jason said causing Cerebella to smile
"Bring it on" Cerebella said excited to enter the game.
"Alright then, first off I normal summon Dododo Warrior" Jason said
Then a large Viking wearing red armor, a yellow vest around his midsection and black cloth around his mouth appeared, wielding a giant battle ax and a round metal shield.

"But he's level six" Dead Ringer said confused how he brought out this monster.
"True, but thanks to his ability, I can normal summon him without tributing for him, downside his attack points go down to 1800" Jason explained

"But I'm not done yet, since I control a level six monster I can special summon Skull Spirit: Cerebella from my hand" Jason said as he played Cerebella's card
"Alright time to put on a show" Cerebella said as she jumped on to the field

"And since she was summoned by her own effect she now becomes level six" Jason said

"Now, it's time to break on through, I Overlay level six Dododo Warrior and Level six Skull Spirit: Cerebella" Jason declared as both Dododo Warrior and Cerebella both became brown and purple energy and flew into the forming galaxy portal in the air.
"Will as unbreakable as diamond, rise up against all oppression, XYZ SUMMON, come forth Skull Girl Warrior: Cerebella" Jason chanted just as the galaxy portal imploded.
Then out of the portal came Cerebella no longer looking like chibi, she then twirled her Vice Versa around on her hand a little bit looking smug until she grabbed it and placed it on her head making the arms pop out and struck a pose.

"Alright you walking corpse, right for your curtain call" Cerebella said with cocky smile.
"Glad to have you here Cerebella" Filia said
"Glad to be here" Cerebella replied
"Alright then, now I activate Cerebella's ability, by using one overlay unit she can switch your monster to defense mode and then it's defense points are reduced to zero" Jason said as one of Cerebella's overlay units were absorbed.
Cerebella then rushed at Supersonic Skull Flame, then Skull Flame started to fire fireballs at her but she easily dodged them. She then reached out with Vice Verse's arm grabbed Dead Ringer's monster then she spun around the monster and with a final spin she then planted her feet slammed the monster into the ground.

"So what, that doesn't help you all" Dead Ringer said
"Actually it does, because you see here Cerebella can actually deal piercing damage, also to add a little more, thanks to spirit Cerebella's ability, now Cerebella can deal double the damage" Jason said making Dead Ringer very afraid.
"Alright Cerebella, attack Supersonic Skull Flame" Jason said
"You got it" Cerebella said with a smile
She then turned toward her opponent, then she stretched out Vice Versa's arms then she started to spin them extremely fast and started to pummel the skeleton.
"DIAMOND DYNAMO!" Cerebella shouted out as pummeled the skeleton, then with one final smash she then smashed the monster into dust causing an explosion sending Dead Ringer flying and wiping out his life points.

The duel then ended as most of the holograms disappeared but Cerebella and Filia stuck around, Cerebella then walked over to the downed zombie and picked him by his leg with Vice Versa's hand held up to make him face to face with her.
"Alright, you Halloween reject, tell us where the Skull Girl is, or else I'm going to give you another walloping" Cerebella said shaking her fist to emphasize her point.
"I will not tell, you, anything" Dead Ringer said making Cerebella mad, she raised her fist to punch the zombie until Filia stepped in.
"Then tell us this, why are using a card game to fight us?" Filia asked which got Cerebella to stop seeing that she also was curious
"Well if you must know, when the Skull Girl came to this world she was weakened and is trying to gain back her power, but we found out that imbuing her power into the game we can create what we call Death Games." Dead Ringer said, but before they ask any more questions, Dead Ringer then turned to ash and disappeared.
"Well, a least one mystery has been solved" Samson said
"Yeah I guess, still would have been nice to figure out where the Skull Girl is though" Cerebella said
"Hey, at least were still alive and kicking right" Jason said trying to ease the tension, which it did as Filia and Cerebella smile.
"I guess so, but at least were back to normal" Cerebella said looking over her body only to gain a worried look from Filia and Jason, which Cerebella saw
"What? Is something wrong" Cerebella asked until all of sudden a large Filia was surrounded by a pillar of hair while Cerebella was surrounded by a pillar of diamonds.
Once the pillar had vanished Cerebella and Filia were back to their chibi forms.
"What?! Are you kidding me, but I just got my body back!" Cerebella shouted in frustration which got a giggle from Filia and Jason.
"Anyway since that's over now why don't we all head on home" Jason said
"Yeah, good idea" Filia said, so after calming Cerebella down they made their way outside and ready to head home and this time with a new friend and ally.
