Chapter 3
The Cat and the Duelist
After the duel, Jason brought Filia and his new friend Cerebella with him to his home, there Cerebella got to meet his sister, if only for a brief moment. So after a quick dinner of Chinese takeout, all three of them when to bed, already starting to feel the exhaustion of that duel, making them all fell asleep.
Jason's alarm then went off walking up all three of them from their sleep. Jason was the first to wake up from his sleep, yawning as he did. He then rubbed his eyes a bit shaking the last of his sleep away. He then went over to wake up Filia and Cerebella but before he did he then noticed that Filia and Cerebella were sleeping together, hugging each other like they were teddy bears, seeing this Jason couldn't help but snicker at this. He then grabbed his phone and took a quick picture, after that he then got Filia and Cerebella up, but when he did they saw how they were positioned which caused them to let go and jump back away from each other with a yelp getting a laugh from Jason then later on a hard slap from Cerebella. After that mess, all three of them made their way to the dining room and Jason then made them some scrambled eggs for all three them to enjoy. After they all settled down Jason then decided to get to know his new partner.
"So Cerebella, tell me about yourself?" Jason asked getting her attention
"Well, back in New Meridian I'm a Circus performer, one of my main acts was tightrope walking" Cerebella said with a hint pride in her voice.
"Wow that sounds cool, you do any tricks when preforming?" Jason asked
"Oh yeah tons, my most popular one was when I held up two elephants while doing it" Cerebella said gaining a shocked look from Jason.
"Geez! I would pay good money to see that!" Jason said with excitement in his voice.
Hearing this, Cerebella couldn't help but giggle at this after all this was pretty much the same reaction she got when she performed for people, and it was still funny and cute.
"Yeah I know what you mean Jason, Cerebella and her circus's shows are the best" Filia said remembering the time when she went to the circus which where she meet Cerebella for the first time.
"Ahem!" Samson said catching everyone's attention, "I hate to be the one to interrupt the happy conversation, but we have a job to do" Samson said which made Filia sigh.
"He's right; we still need to find the others from New Meridian" Filia said
"Yeah you got a point, but we don't even know where the other six are?" Cerebella replied with a serious expression.
But all Jason did was stare at his sister room for a good while, while silently counting off.
"Five, four, three, two…" Jason counted until suddenly Liz's door opened loudly, scaring Cerebella and Filia. Liz then walked over to the table a laid another piece of paper next to Jason.
"What's this sis?" Jason asked her
"It's the next location of one of crash sites" Liz replied while taking a sip of her morning coffee
"Thanks sis" Jason said but all Liz did was nod and walk back in her room.
Cerebella and Filia then looked at Liz's room feeling bewildered at the strange interaction.
"How did she even know we needed the next location" Cerebella asked wondering how she knew
"My sister and I just know each other very well, so she knows what I need and I know what she needs" Jason said with smile as he studied the map.
"Okay?" Cerebella said accepting the answer but still confused
So after studying the map Jason figured out where to go, so without further hesitation he and his friends then made their way out to their next destination.
In another part of city there was a large crypt covered in markings and skull engravings surrounded by tombstones. Within this crypt was a long, black spiral staircase leading down into a long forgotten burial area, where their lay thousands of body's all lining the walls and there in the middle of the room was large white and blue throne made of dozens of skulls and bones, and sitting in this throne was the SkullGirl herself.
She was a young woman with pale skin almost ghostly white, long jet black hair reaching all the way to her waist, and her eyes were crimson red with skulls for pupils as all Skullgirls have. She also wore a jet black strapless dress, reaching down to her ankles, embroidered with white skull and bone designs but with a v- section window on her chest giving a good view of her cleavage. Along with this she also wore black silk gloves with skulls on the front and black heels and finally she also had bird and rat skulls woven through out her hair.
Her name was Libitina; the newest Skullgirl after Maire was defeated. Unlike her predecessor Libitina was not kind or seeking revenge, no, all she wanted was power and because of this the Skull Heart liked her for she fell in line with her objection which was destroy everything. Unfortunately the Trinity did not like her because her overwhelming want for power which made her undesirable but Libitina was much stronger than any SkullGirl every made, so they could do anything to stop her and those she took the Skull Heart for herself and made herself the new SkullGirl, but unlike the other SkullGirls she wanted more than just New Meridian, she wanted everything. So she traveled back to her originally dimension but due to this she has become weakened and now mostly uses others to do her dirty work, which don't seem to be getting the job done, which brings us to now, where Libitina was sitting in her throne, thinking about all that as transpired over the course of the last two days.
"I still don't understand it, how one duelist is thwarting my plans" Libitina said in a very thick Italian accent.
She was quietly brooding in her throne, disappointed with Skull Knight and Dead Ringers performance. She then felt a slight tingle of power in the air meaning one thing one of adversaries of the SkullGirl has been found.
"And this time, that "Jason Hall" will not be able to stop me" Libitina said as she snapped her fingers
Then out of the wall of bones a wispy looking Spirit came floating up to her, then it took form meld it's self into a young Japanese girl, with extremely long hair that reached down to the floor and was wearing a plain white oversized shirt on her.
"Yes…my…mistress?" The ghost said in a very wispy tone
"Ah, Yuri, it good to see you again, I have mission for you" the Libitina said
"What…is…it?" Yuri asked
Libitina then raised her hand, and then in her palm a deck appeared in a flash of blue light.
"I want you to take this deck and defeat that nuisance Jason Hall before he gains another ally" she said as Yuri took the deck
"It…shall…be…done" Yuri said as she turned into a fog and floated away
Once Yuri left, the SkullGirl then relaxed in her throne, waiting for when Jason Hall will die.
"This is it?" Cerebella said looking at where they had arrived
"Afraid so" Jason replied
"Buts it's so…old" Filia said
True to her words, there destination was an old superstore; it was so battered and broken it looked like it would fall at any minute. Above the door, there was a sign that read "Pet Heaven" in big red letters with a cartoon dog, cat and fish above the words.
"Are sure this is the place?" Cerebella asked
"It says so on the map" Jason said parking his bike
"What happened here?" Filia asked, wondering why a pet store of all things would go out of business
"Well, not much is known but according to the rumors that a bunch of animals kept going missing from the store for last few weeks, it wasn't until later that they found out that one of the co-workers was talking they pets and offering them up in some sort devil ritual." Jason explained, shocking both Filia and Cerebella.
"You joking…right?" Cerebella asked
"Nope, that what the rumors say" Jason said then started to head toward the door
Filia and Cerebella then looked at the store and couldn't help but get an awful feeling from it.
"What kind of crazy city is this?" Cerebella asked questioning whether to go in or not
"I don't know, and I don't want to find out" Filia said following Jason
As Jason and his friends entered the supermarket they came to the sight of hundreds of rusty, broken pet cages and moldy fish tanks. It also didn't help that the place was eerily quiet as well.
"Well then, let's get searching" Jason said as they began their search
They then started going down each aisle to find anything or anyone. So far they search had come up with nothing for all they found was old pet food and empty cages. Jason then came to the last aisle, the cat aisle, as he and his friends walked down it they tried looking for anything but unfortunately they weren't having much luck. Jason was about to give up until all of sudden they heard a rustle of cardboard down the aisle.
"What was that?" Filia asked
"I don't know, let's go check it out" Jason said as the three of them followed the noise
Once they made to the end of the aisle what they say was old cardboard box turned upside down and was shacking back and forth.
"I thought you said this place was abandon" Cerebella said looking at the box cautiously
"I did, maybe its stray that wondered in here" Jason replied
"Well, let it out and let's see" Filia said
Jason then approached the box slowly, reaching down toward it. Once he was close enough he then grabbed it by it side and slowly lifted. Everyone was tense, wondering what was underneath, but once the box was high enough something came right out the box, and hit Jason right in the face.
"FREEDOM!" a voice shouted sounding feminine
Jason then felt a something small on his face and what he saw was not a cat but a small little chibi girl.
"Hey, you mind getting off my face" he said to the little chibi girl
She then looked down and saw Jason underneath her, then to his confusion she then gave him a very cat like smile.
"Hello, who might you be, nya" the girl said
Like his two other friends, she was a chibi as well, she also had white hair in a bob cut, light blue eyes, and tan skin. As for her clothing…well that was another story, she wore a thick black collar with a cat bell, a light blue striped crop top with the underside of her breasts showing, a gray utility belt, black hot pants, black fingerless gloves and she wore what looked like pieces of pant legs which were cut to cover her ankles. Although what really caught Jason eye was the fact she had cat ears, cat claws and a black cat tail as well.
"um…I'm sorry do you have, cat ears?" Jason asked confusing the chibi girl
"Uh, yeah what's the matter kid you act like you never seen a ferial before?" she said, Jason then raised an eye brow at this, doing another once over to see if cat features are real only for another thing to hit him…her attire.
Seeing this Jason face then went red in embarrassment. He then pushed the chibi girl off his face as he got up back up from her. The chibi girl then looked offended at this gesture.
"What was that for?!" she said crossing her arms in front of chest
"Lady! Please put some clothes on!" Jason said covering his view of her.
Hearing this, the chibi girl then gained a sly little smile.
"Ah, what's the matter little boy, I'm I making you … uncomfortable? ~"she said in a sly voice making Jason turn even more.
"NADIA! Leave him alone!" Filia shouted at her making her turn around.
When she did her eyes went wide in surprise, then she gained a smile seeing her friend.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Miss Filia herself" Nadia said, she then floated over to Filia and gave her a one armed hug.
"It good to see you Nadia" Filia said returning the hug
"For some of us" Cerebella said catching Nadia's attention as she looked at her.
She then gained a frown and let go of Filia and floated to Cerebella, who was frowning as well. They then stared at each which gave the air a bit of tension. During this, Jason had calmed down and saw there stare down.
"Um…anyone what to explain what is going" Jason said as Filia floated up to him
"Well the Ferial you meet is a friend of ours, her name is Nadia Fortune, she we had a lot of encounter with her before, but most times we just walked by her but it wasn't until we defeated the old SkullGirl that we became "official" friends" Filia explained
"Oh, well your "friend" looks like to rip Cerebella a new one" Jason said ready break up the two until Filia stopped him, "Filia, what are doing?!" Jason asked her wondering if she lost her mind
"Just wait" Filia simply said, so Jason with a sigh just watched.
Nadia and Cerebella stared at each other for a good minute, until Nadia and Cerebella then gained a smile on their face until breaking into laughter, which greatly confused Jason.
"Uh what just happened?" Jason asked
But now one heard him over Nadia and Cerebella's laughter. Then they calmed down but kept there smile.
"It nice to see you, Circus Girl" Nadia said getting a giggle from Cerebella
"It good to see you too, you Mangy Thief" Cerebella said in a playful voice, which in turn made Nadia giggle.
"Um, Hello?" Jason said getting Nadia and Cerebella attention, "what to explain what just happened? Because I few minutes ago you looked you were about rip each other apart" Jason said confused about whole thing.
"Oh, right, well you see back then before the previous SkullGirl was defeated, me and Nadia were at each other's necks for a while but it wasn't until after the SkullGirl was defeated that I saw that Nadia wasn't as bad as I thought" Cerebella explained
"Oooh. So that whole intimidating thing?" Jason asked
"Yeah, we were messing with each other" Cerebella said with a smile
"You know, I never got your name" Nadia said floating up to Jason
"Oh right, my names Jason" he said introducing himself to Nadia
"Nice to meet you, kid, as my friends have said my name is Nadia Fortune" Nadia said
"Well then it nice to meet you Ms. Fortune" Jason replied
"Hey kid, no need for all "Ms" stuff just call me Nadia" she said with a smile until Filia came up to her
"That does bring up one question, how did you get in that box?" Filia asked
Nadia then scratch the back of her neck in embarrassment, as she gave a nervous laugh.
"Well, you see one day I was wondering this store looking for anything that can help me but to my dismay I couldn't find anything, then of course I wasn't looking where I was going bonked in to a shelved, then next thing I now a box falls on top of me and well…you know the rest" Nadia explained
Filia and Cerebella then started to crack up at this, which led to Filia and Cerebella laughing out loud causing Nadia to blush in embarrassment.
"It's not that funny!" Nadia shouted at the two
Jason then smiled at the scene, loving the cute interaction between the three of them. Then out the corner of his eye, Jason says a duel monsters card laying on one of shelves. Jason then picked it up and lone behold it was actually Nadia's card.
"I may have to hold onto this, just in case" Jason said to himself as he placed the card in his deck.
He then turned his attention back to three girls, seeing that have calmed down after that funning story Nadia told them.
"Alright you three, let's get out here" Jason said until all of sudden the front door shut suddenly scaring every one.
"How did that door just close?!" Filia asked
"Got me" Cerebella replied, she then looked at Nadia, only to shrug
"I didn't do anything" Nadia said
"Maybe it was the wind" Jason said trying to calm everyone
Suddenly a mist suddenly covered the floor of the store as the temperature dropped drastically.
"Or maybe…it was me" a raspy female voice said
They then looked around them to find the person that said that but couldn't find anything.
"Who's there!? Come out right now so I can give you a clobbering!" Nadia shouted out
"As…you…wish" the voice said again then out the mist came a cloud of mist until it started shift and meld until it formed a shape.
Once it was done changing what stood before them was what looked like a little Japanese girl wherein an oversized short sleeved shirt that reached all the to her feet, her skin was also sickly white and her hair was black and gnarly and it was so long it reached down to her feet and covered her face completely.
"Okay, is it just me or am I seeing a Japanese ghost" Jason said looking at the person before them.
She then raised her head slightly which caused a strand of hair to move slightly to reveal a bloodshot eye staring at him.
"I am … Yuri… one of the SkullGirl's faithful servants…and I have come for you" she said pointing at him
"Oh, so you work for that new SkullGirl huh?" Nadia said with a wicked smile on her face
"Yes…that's…correct" she said
Hearing this Nadia then extend her claws and got into her battle stance as she had a cocky smile on her face.
"Well, get ready because I'm about to put you back in your grave!" Nadia shouted at the ghost then charged at her only to get pulled back by Jason.
"Hold up there Nadia, I don't think you can take her on" Jason said as Nadia frowned at him
"Why?!" Nadia shouted at him
"Because you're tiny" Jason said in a deadpan voice, making Nadia then relaxes and frowns at this
"Oh … right" Nadia said as her shoulders slumped
"Yeah, besides she's a ghost, I don't think you can harm her anyway" Cerebella said with hands on her hips
"Unless?" Filia said looked Jason, who gave a thumbs up and walked up to face Yuri.
"Alright, you Ring ghost rip-off, I'm ready to duck it out" Jason said grabbing his D-tablet.
"Very…well…prepare … to meet … your…end" Yuri said and extended her arm.
Then the mist then wrapped around her arm and took on the form of a duel disk with a deck in the holster.
"Alright then, let's throw down!" Jason shouted as he threw his D-Tablet in the air, then landed on his arm and extended outward.
"Nice intro" Nadia commented
"Thanks" Jason replied and turned his attention back to Yuri.
"Duel"
Yuri: 4000
Jason: 4000
They then drew there five cards and the duel was on.
"Wait, this is a card game?" Nadia asked confused
"Yep" Filia and Cerebella said as if this was common occurrence
"Isn't that a little…weird?" Nadia asked
"Nope" they both said focusing on the duel, Nadia was still confused but decided to just watch and see.
"I'll go first" Yuri said as picked not one but three cards from her hand, "And to start my turn…I will play three copies of Spring of Rebirth" she said playing the three cards which showed a picture of a fountain with a sad looking angel on top.
'Woah three spells already, I didn't see that coming' Jason thought surprised by her opening move
"Now…whenever a monster is returned to our hands I gain 500 life points" Yuri explained
"Then that means that with three of those spells, when a monster goes back to the hand she gains 1500 life points" Cerebella said
"That's a lot of points" Filia said nervous what this could mean for them
"I'm…still not following" Nadia said confused
"Now that is done… I now summon Aratama" Yuri said playing her monster.
Then out of mist came blazing red ball of fire with what looked like a demons face on it.
Aratama LV:4 ATK: 800 DEF: 1800
"Wait, that's a spirit monster" Jason said surprised by the appearance of the monster
"Spirit Monster?" Filia and Cerebella said curious what it means
"It's a special type of monster, unlike other monsters they can't be special summoned also after they get summoned they have to go back to the hand at the end phase" Jason explained
"That means that you can keep summoning them over and over again and keep using there ability's again and again" Cerebella said
"But since they go back to hand at the end of turn, your left defenseless, very interesting" Filia said, but Nadia just looked dumbfounded
"How long have you been playing this game?" She asked
"Oh well this actually my second duel" Cerebella said with a nervous smile
"And this is actually my third" Filia said rubbing the back of her head, which got a sigh from Nadia.
"I am so out the loop" Nadia said as turned their attention back to the duel
"Now… since Aratama was summoned I can now add any Spirit Monster from my deck to my hand, so add Yamata Dragon to my hand" Yuri said adding the card to her hand.
"Wait, did she say dragon?! There are Dragons in this game?!" Nadia asked surprised
"You better believe it." Jason replied, and then smile spread on Nadia's face
"Cool" Nadia simply said with glee
"Now I will end my turn here… and since I did Aratama returns to my hand" Yuri said and true to her words Aratama turned into mist went back to her hand, "And since a monster returned to my hand…my springs activate and increase my life points" Yuri said as the cards gleamed and covered Yuri in a white aura for time and gave her life points.
Yuri: 4000 + 1500 = 5500
"All right then it my turn, I draw" Jason said drawing a new card, "and what better way to fight a ghost but with a ghost, I summon Gogogo Ghost" Jason said playing his card.
Then out a blue portal came purple looking mist, then several pieces of red and yellow armor and a sword came out formed around the mist until a formed a body of mist with a single eye.

"Wow, looks like that ghost is armed for combat" Filia punned which got groan from Cerebella and Filia
"Annnnd, here we go" Cerebella said with a look of dread
"Now, Gogogo Ghost attack her directly!" Jason commanded as the ghost charged forward and slashed at Yuri causing to let out a scream as the sword went through her, causing a large gash to appear only to heal back up with mist.
Yuri: 5500 – 1900 = 3600
"That…hurt" Yuri said in a low threating voice, which kind of creeped Jason out a bit
"Okay then, I set one card face down and end my turn" Jason said as his card appeared
"Alright first blood, way to go Jason!" Nadia shouted from the sidelines
"Seems you're getting into this game Nadia" Cerebella said which made Nadia blush
"Well…maybe just a little" Nadia said embarrassed
"My turn…I draw" Yuri said drawing her card, "Now I summon Nikitama" she said
Then on her field, out of the mist came a green flaming head with a smiling face.
Nikitama LV: 4 ATK: 800 DEF: 1800
"Nikitama's ability lets me normal summon again when he's summoned, so I play Aratama, and since I normal summoned him I can add another spirit monster, so I add Rasetsu" Yuri said adding her card just as her red fire monster appeared.
"Ha, none those pipsqueak stand a chance" Nadia said with a smirk
"I don't think those monsters are meant to attack" Cerebella said feeling nervous what the ghost was going to do.
"You are right…little spirit, I now play the spell Double Summon which lets me normal summon again this turn." Yuri said playing her card which depicted a mage summoning two bolts of lightning with a beast monster in the other.
"Now I tribute both Nikitama and Aratama so I can summon, Yamata Dragon" Yuri said then out of mist rose a pale scaled dragon with multiply heads appeared, with one looking like a snake head.
Yamata Dragon LV: 7 ATK: 2600 DEF: 3100
"Geez, that's one ugly dragon" Nadia said finding the monster disturbing
"You can say that again" Cerebella said finding the dragon revolting
"Not to mention its stronger then Jason's ghost!" Filia exclaimed feeling nervous
"Now…Yamata Dragon attacks Gogogo Ghost" Yuri commanded, then the dragon let lose nine streams of fire at Gogogo Ghost ready to turn it to ash.
"I don't think so, I play my trap Half Unbreak, now Gogogo Ghost isn't destroyed and I only take half the damage" Jason said playing one his favorite trap cards.
A bubble then enveloped Gogogo Ghost, shielding it from the flames but the shockwave of attack hit Jason making him hiss in pain.
Jason: 4000 – 350 = 3650
"Wow, talk about a close call" Jason said relieved that his monster survived
"Mabye…but does not matter… because thanks to Yamata Dragon's ability when it deals battle damage, I can now draw cards until I hold five in my hand … so since I only have one card in my hand I can draw four cards" Yuri said drawing
"What!? Four cards for free just by attacking, that is so unfair!" Cerebella said with frown on her face
"Guess she is a evil spirit huh" Nadia punned again only to get a glare from the other two
"Not the time Nadia" Filia said
"Now…I sent two cards face down and end my turn… and since I did Yamata Dragon goes back to my hand, meaning my springs activate… letting me gain another 1500 life points" Yuri said has the dragon turned into light flew back to her hand.
Yuri: 3600 + 1500 = 5100
"Great, now she has more life points then us…again!" Cerebella said frowning at how much of a disadvantage they had.
"Maybe, but she has no monster anymore which means she's wide open for an attack" Jason said with a smirk, "Alright then my turn, I draw" Jason said then smiled.
"Um, why is Jason smiling" Nadia asked
"I think I know" Cerebella said with a smirk
"Yeah, me too" Filia said with a smile
"I now summon Gagaga Magician" Jason said has then edgy looking magician appeared.
Gagaga Magician LV: 4 ATK: 1500 DEF: 1000
"Now I activate his ability which lets me change his level between one and eight, so I change his level to level six" Jason said as Gagaga Magician metal plate had six lights on it.
Gagaga Magician LV: 6
"Now, since I control a level 6 monster I can Special summon Skull Spirit: Cerebella from my hand" Jason said playing her card.
"Alright! Time to get this show on the road!" Cerebella shouted jumping from the sidelines onto the field
Skull Spirit: Cerebella LV: 1 ATK: 800 DEF: 100
"You're a card Cerebella?!" Nadia shouted in shock
"Yep, Filia is too" She replied as Filia gave a smile
"Cerebella's ability now activates, since she was special summoned by her own ability he level goes up to six" Jason explained
Skull Spirit: Cerebella LV: 6
"Alright, I now overlay level six Skull Spirit: Cerebella and level six Gagaga Magician!" Jason said has Cerebella and Gagaga Magician both became purple energy and flew into the forming galaxy portal.
"Will as unbreakable as diamonds, rise up against all oppression, XYZ SUMMON, appear Skull Girl Warrior: Cerebella" Jason chanted as the portal imploded.
Cerebella then descended down from the portal hanging from a giant metal ring, she then reached the floor and struck a pose as she got off.
Skull Girl Warrior: Cerebella Rank: 6 ATK: 2800 DEF: 1000
"So…who's ready for a show?" Cerebella said with a smirk as she got ready for battle
"Wow, I have to admit that was pretty cool" Nadia said smiling with joy
"Alright then, Cerebella attack her directly" Jason said pointing at Yuri
"You got it" Cerebella replied
She then extended Vice Versa's arms out acting as wings and glided over to Yuri, once she was close enough she then pulled back Vice Versa's fist and struck Yuri which made a huge hole in her chest only to reform back with mist.
Yuri: 5100 – 2800 = 2300
"Alright now then, Gogogo Ghost attacks her directly" Jason commanded as his ghost got ready to attack.
"I don't…think so…I activate the trap Compulsory Evacuation Device" Yuri said has he face down flipped up showing a dome machine launching a monster into the sky.
'Uh oh' Jason thought, after all, all duelist knows what it does
"Now with this trap, I now can now return one monster on field…so I return Gogogo Ghost returns to your hand" Yuri said
Then the same dome machine appeared on her field and sucked up Gogogo Ghost and shot it back into Jason's hand.
"Also…since a monster was returned to the hand … my springs activate letting me gain 1500 life points" Yuri said as her cards activated.
Yuri: 2300 + 1500 = 3800
"Darn, we almost had her, I set one card face-down and end my turn" Jason said as his facedown card appeared
"Don't worry Jason we'll get her next turn" Cerebella said with a reassuring smile
"Yeah don't worry, with Cerebella with you, you'll totally win" Nadia said
"Yeah, we know you can win" Filia said as well
Hearing this Jason couldn't help but smile but was gone once she heard Yuri give a very creepy giggle.
"What's so funny?" Cerebella asked wondering why the strange ghost was laughing
"Oh…nothing…just that…you won't get another turn" she said as she drew her card
"That doesn't sound good" Jason said now nervous
"Oh…believe me it's not…first I summon Rasetsu" Yuri said
Then out of mist, stood a two legged, brown lizard creature, with red flaming hair, wearing purple armor and wielding a gleaming sword.
Rasetsu LV: 4 ATK: 1500 DEF: 1900
"Now I activate his ability…by revealing another Spirit monster in my hand… I can return one attack position monster you control to your hand" Yuri said shocking Jason
"Say what?!" He shouted
"Now I reveal Yaksha and return Cerebella to your extra deck" Yuri said as the lizard monster shot a beam of light from his saber hitting Cerebella.
She then turned into a beam of energy and flew back into Jason's extra deck while her overlay units went to the graveyard.
"Oh no! He's defenseless now!" Filia shouted with concern as Nadia tighten her fist
"Well…that stinks but even if you hit me with that monster, I'll only take a little bit of damage" Jason said but Yuri just giggled again.
"Not for long…I now activate the trap Ultimate Offering" Yuri said as he last face down flipped up to show a red goo monster coming out of a fat green one.
"Oh no not that" Jason said now starting to worry a little
"That right…now by paying 500 life points I can normal summon again, so pay 500 and normal summon Yaksha" Yuri said as she played another monster.
Then out the mist, standing next to Rasetsu stood a blue horned demon with a white lion cloth, black and gold vest and wielding two twin daggers.
Yuri: 3800 – 500 = 3300
Yaksha LV: 4 ATK: 1900 DEF: 1500
"Now I activate Yaksha's ability…so I can return one spell or trap you control" Yuri said about to send Jason's only facedown until.
"I don't think so; I discard Effect Vealer from my hand to negate his ability's this turn" Jason said sending a card from his hand to the graveyard.
Then a little girl with green hair, a white shirt, baggy brown pants and a pair of translucent wings appeared and covered Yaksha with her wings, negating it abilities.
'Wooh, that was close, if my friend hadn't given me that card I would toast right now" Jason said
"Humph, big deal you're still going to lose; now Rasetsu and Yaksha will attack you directly" Yuri said has her two monsters charged at him slashed at him, as he screamed in pain.
Jason: 3650 - 1500 - 1900 = 250
"Now…to finish…you" Yuri said confusing Jason
"How your two monster have already attacked" he said breathing heavily after the attack
"Did you forget…Ultimate Offering … I can even activate this card during the battle phase and normal summon another monster, so I pay another 500 and tribute Rasetsu and Yaksha and summon Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi" Yuri said as her monster started to appear.
Then in place of the two spirits monster stood a muscular man with flaming hair and a bluish loin cloth.
Yuri: 3300 – 500 = 2800
Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi LV: 8 ATK: 2800 DEF: 2900
"2800 attack points! Jason doesn't have enough to survive that!" Filia shouted in fear while Nadia chewed her lower lip in nervousness.
"Now…Hino attack Jason directly and end this duel" Yuri commanded
The flaming monster then thrust out its fist and sent out fire ball at Jason, the fireball then made impact with ground close to his feet and blow up creating a cloud of smoke. It was then quiet waiting to see what will happen but it was silent until Yuri let a terrible laugh.
"HAHAHAHA! I have won, did you see me Mistress I …" Yuri shouted until
"Not yet you haven't" Jason then said shocking every one present
Then as the smoke cloud dissipated there stood Jason a little ruffled up but fine.
"WHAT!? That's impossible, how did you survive?!" Yuri screeched at him as he smirked
"Simply all I did was activated my face down, Nutrient Z. You see when I'm about to take 2000 or more damage I can gain 4000 life points before the attack hits" Jason explained
Jason: 250 + 4000 = 4250 – 2800 = 1450
"Alright, way to play" Filia shouted with joy
"Yeah, just don't scare me like that" Nadia said let out a breath she didn't know she was holding
"Grrrr, fine you survived this turn but you won't next time I end my turn, and since I did Hino returns to my hand which means I gain 1500 life points again" Yuri said as her monster returned to her hand and her spells activated.
Yuri: 2800 + 1500 = 4300
"Ugh, this is getting old fast, we keep hitting her and yet she comes right back" Nadia said feeling annoyed
"I know what you me, and I still don't know much about this game" Filia replied
"The problem is were not hitting hard enough, we need to take her life points out in one go or else she'll just keep getting more" Jason said
He then took a deep breath and got ready for, hopefully not, his last turn.
"Here goes, it my turn now and I…" Jason started to say until Yuri cut in
"I don't think so…since Hino dealt you damage…before you draw you must discard all the cards in your hand" Yuri said
"Say what?!" Jason shouted, and then his cards then were surrounded by a flaming aura and went straight to the graveyard
"That means he only gets one card!" Filia shouted, shocked by this development
"Well…let's hope it's a good one" Nadia said
'No cards in my hand and one draw left, man talk about impossible odds' Jason thought looking at his now empty hand, until a smile appeared on his face, 'but then again, it wouldn't be fun otherwise' Jason thought and place his fingers on his top card.
"Alright then…I…DRAW!" Jason shouted drawing his card, when he looked at it her could help but smile, "guess my deck doesn't want me to lose yet, now I activate the spell Pot of Greed, which lets me draw two more cards" Jason said drawing his cards.
"Yes, now that's a good draw" Nadia said with smirk
Jason then saw his two cards and smiled wider.
"Not bad, I now activate the spell Graceful Charity which lets me draw three cards then I discard two" Jason said drawing his new cards.
But when he saw them he was surprised to find none other but Nadia's card, then within his mind he then connected the dots and saw his path to victory as he discarded his two.
"Alright you Ring rip-off it time to end this thing" Jason said, he then turned toward Nadia with a smile, "Ready to get in there?" he asked
"Are you kidding me? Of course, let me at her!" Nadia replied unsheathing her claws
"Alright, then it's time to break on through!" Jason said as he played his first card.

"First I play the spell Monster Reborn which lets me bring back one monster back from my graveyard, so come on back Gagaga Magician" Jason said
Then out of a purple portal came the same edgy Magician looking ready for combat.
"Next I activate Gagaga Magician's effect letting me change his level between one and eight so I change it to level five" Jason said
Then the dots on Gagaga Magician's belt changed from four to five.

"Next up, since I control a level 5 monster I can summon out my newest ally Skull Spirit: Ms. Fortune" Jason said playing Nadia's card.
"Time to let the cat out of bag!" Nadia punned as she jumped on to the field
Skull Spirit: Ms. Fortune LV: 1 ATK: 800 Def: 100
"And since she was summoned by her own ability her level goes to five" Jason said as Nadia's level rose
Skull Spirit: Ms. Fortune LV: 5
"Now then, I overlay level five Gagaga Magician and level five Skull Spirit: Ms. Fortune" Jason shouted
Then both Nadia and Gagaga Magician became purple energy and flew into the galaxy portal, causing it to implode.
"Great thief of justice, right all wrongs and fight for what is right, XYZ SUMMON, appear Skull Girl Warrior: Ms. Fortune" Jason chanted
Then out the portal stood Nadia with a black trench coat facing away from Yuri, she then turned her head completely around looking at Yuri with a smirk. She then twisted her entire body around at extreme speeds causing the trench coat to rip off and reveal Nadia's form as just into battle stance.
"I'm ready to pounce" She said flexing her claws.
Skull Girl Warrior: Ms. Fortune Rank: 5 ATK: 2100 Def: 1500
"So…you summoned another one of the SkullGirl's enemy's…but it does not matter for she does not have enough attack points to defeat me" Yuri said
"Not for long, I now activate Ms. Fortune's ability, by using one overlay unit I can draw one card and if that card happens to be a monster card Nadia's attack points are doubled this turn" Jason explained as Nadia absorbed one her flying orbs
"What? You're betting all of this on luck?" Yuri asked perplexed
"Not exactly, because when Nadia's Spirit form is detached from her I can place one monster from my deck on top" Jason said as a card popped out his deck and he placed it on top
"What?! But that guarantee's you do get a monster!" Yuri screamed
"Exactly, so I draw and the card is my Gogogo Giant meaning Ms. Fortune's attack points get doubled this turn" Jason said a Nadia powered up
Skull Girl Warrior: Ms. Fortune ATK: 2100 x 2 = 4200
"Man, this feels purrfect" Nadia punned which did get a groan from Filia but Jason just shrugged it off
"Even with that power boost it still not enough"
"Good thing I got this, the spell Back-up Rider, giving Nadia a 1500 point boost" Jason said playing his card as Nadia powered up more.
Skull Girl Warrior: Ms. Fortune ATK: 4200 + 1500 = 5700
"NONONONO!" Yuri screamed know she was about to lose
"Ms. Fortune attack Yuri directly, Cat Scratch Fever!" Jason said getting a nod from Nadia
"You got" Nadia said as she rushed the ghost
Once she was close enough she raised he claw and shouted out.
"Cat Scratch Fever!" She shouted as she unleashed a barrage of scratches at the ghost ending it off with a head butt, dropping her life points to zero.
Yuri: 4300 – 5700 = 0

Then just as Yuri's life point hit zero her whole body turned into mist and blew away in the wind as well as mist surrounding there feet.
"Alright, we won!" Nadia shouted with glee
"You bet we did" Jason said with a smile
Just then out of his graveyard slot a light shone until out came Cerebella back in her Spirit form
"Woah, what happened?" She said sounding dazed
"You okay there Cerebella, you were quiet for a long time" Jason asked
"Yeah just a little out of it, you kind of go into limbo while in that graveyard" Cerebella said getting out of her daze
"Well good news, we won" Filia said giving Cerebella a pat on the back
"Yep and it was all thanks to me" Nadia said with a smile with her hands on her hips
Just then out just like Cerebella and Filia, a large column of what looked like blood vessels swirled around her and after a short while they disappeared leaving her in her spirit form again.
"Aw man, I just my good looks back" Nadia said pouting
"Sorry, we should have warned about that" Filia said
"Yeah sorry about that" Cerebella said rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"Well since that's over why don't we all just get out of here" Jason said
"Yeah, that sounds good" Filia said
"No complaints here" Cerebella added
"Hey anything to get out this ratty old pet shop" Nadia said
So with that all said, all four of them left the store as another day ended on the Skull Girl Duelist and his friends.
