IV.
"What the hell is going?" Damon demanded as he turned towards Bonnie. He hasn't gotten that far because the twin duo stepped in front of him, eyes no longer their respected colors but now a deep crimson red. The boy was about to crouch into a offensive. He was ready to attack and defend his mother. The girl looked like she was going to be the one to defend them both. Tiny little soldiers. Damon looked at the small Bennett and his glare deepened. "Bonnie, answer me right now."
"What is it you wish to know?" Bonnie asked.
"What do I wish to know?" the vampire repeated in the a mock ominous tone. "How about where the hell you've been, or how you've got a demon's marking on you or better yet explain these two!" he snapped and pointed at the twins.
"Follow me," Bonnie sighed and then smiled down at her children. "Evan, Vera let's go home okay?"
Vera smiled up at her mother while Evan remained. The younger of the two wasn't going to give up until he was sure Damon wasn't a threat. Well that was going to take some time then. "Evan." He looked at his mother as she called. He walked towards her, taking her hand but he did turn back and glare at Damon as they walked out the Grille, Elena and Caroline right the four of them.

"We weren't expecting guests." Vergil said as he stared at the three vampires who graced his brother's home. They had moved into Bonnie's grandmother's house since Bonnie couldn't stand being in her childhood one. The twins were sharing Bonnie's old room while Vergil and Kat shared the guestroom. Bonnie and Dante shared Shelia's room. The study was used for Kat and Bonnie's magical studies and teaching the twins. The silver haired male turned towards his sister in law. "I take it these are old friends of yours, Bonnie."
"Not Damon." Said Bonnie as she walked towards Kat and gave her a hug. She nodded in Vergil's direction.
"What the hell?" Damon snapped, seeing a silver haired version of the guy Bonnie was married to. "You pulled a Katherine, Bonnie? Sleeping with twins, I don't think she's done that."
"I'm actually just her brother in law," Vergil clarified. "Bonnie is a very beautiful woman and powerful. While I respect my brother and his bond, I can admit, if I had met her first, I wouldn't have let her go."
Evan sneered at him. "Watch it."
Damon eyed the child. "What are you, her bodyguard?"
"I'm her son you dickshit," Evan answered. "So basically yes."
Bonnie shook her head and looked at Damon. "You said you wanted to know what was going on."
Caroline stopped Damon before he could open his mouth. "Bonnie, what did Damon mean by you having a demon's mark?"
"Not just any demon mark," Damon snarled as he stepped forward. "Sparda's mark."
"Sparda?" Elena asked, confused. "Who is he?"
Vergil stepped forward. "Dante and I'm father and a very feared demon of Hell. Or at least he was, before he married our mother. The mark Dante and I wear, along with Bonnie and her children, is our connection to him. Bonnie by marriage and bonding, and Dante, myself and the children by blood."
"So they're half demon?" Caroline asked.
"Pfft, try again Blondie. We've got angel blood in our system as well." Evan said, his chest swelling with pride. Vera shook her head and then smacked him in the back of the head. Evan yelped. "Why the hell was that for? Ow, why again!?"
"One for your idiotic pride, second for your vulgar mouth and third," Vera paused and then smacked him again. "Because I wanted to."
Evan glared at his sister.
"Don't you dare," Bonnie warned when she felt his power starting to rise. "I mean it Evan."
"But mom,"
"No magic."
Evan sighed. "Fine."
"Why no magic?" Damon asked. "Afraid Silas is going to find you."
"Yes. However his mind tricks won't work on me or my family." Bonnie said, not beating around the bush. What would be the point of it all?
"Why is that?" Caroline asked.
"The mark has something to do with it." Vergil answered. "Bonnie's magic has also grown stronger. She's excelled in Expression and her natural magic is superb. My brother really did a good job in choosing his bride."
Damon snorted. Like he was about to believe whatever mumbo-jumbo this quack was cooling up. The redheaded girl, Videl or whatever the hell Bonnie called her, looked at him with interest. "How strange," she commented and tilted her head. "You believe in the aspect of vampires, doppelgangers, ghosts and werewolves, even witches to a degree, but the idea of angels, demons, creatures of Heaven and Hell, they do not even touch your mind."
Evan snickered. "Wow, you're a sad sack of soul ain't ya?"
"Better watch you kids, Bonnie or they might just end up without a limb." Damon snarled as he stepped towards them. He didn't get very far when a sword was placed at his throat.
"You know, last time I shot you in the shoulder because you threatened to rip Bonnie's throat out. This time, you're threatening my kids with missing limbs?" Dante said as he stepped around to face Damon, the tip of Rebellion's blade against his Adam's apple. "I wonder if vampires can regrow limbs. Wanna test that theory out?"
Bonnie stepped forward, "That's enough Dante. I know he deserves it, but not in my Grams's house."
"Bonnie, why did you leave?" Elena asked.
"I was tired of being mistreated and only called on to be your magical fix-it-girl. I wasn't Bonnie anymore. Just the magical tool." Bonnie told her. "Your worlds has changed, our friendship was basically dead in the ground. I just decided it was time to give up chance and say fuck it."
Evan stared at his mother. "You dropped the f-bomb."
Vera shook her head. "Of course she does. You just don't hear it over your own."
"Kids," Dante chastised though he was smiling. "Your mom is an adult, she can say what she wants."
"Bullshit." The twins said in unison.
Bonnie smiled at her family before looking at Elena. "I didn't come back because I wanted space. I needed new scenery."
"But you were going to, right?" Caroline asked.
Bonnie shrugged. "I was going to come visit, but then I found out I was pregnant with the twins and then things got so hectic in Limbo City that it just never registered. But I should have and I didn't. Honestly, I thought you all would have gotten your shit together by now and handled Silas."
Damon scoffed. "How would we have done that?"
"Have you tried using Stefan?" Bonnie asked. "Since he's of Silas's bloodline."
The room was suddenly very quiet. The first one to explode was, as she predicted, Damon. He shouted curse after curse, denying it like it was just some nightmare. Elena looked like she was close to crying and Caroline was oddly calm. She frowned and Bonnie watched as it registered in her mind.
"It makes sense," she whispered.
"What?" Damon snapped and turned to her. "How? How was it made sense?"
"Stefan and Silas are alike. Think of it this way," Bonnie said and stepped forward. "Both have come to me with things that they want. And why? I'm a Bennett witch. But for different reasons."
"Stefan wanted the coffins to keep Klaus at bay," Elena said. "But what does Silas want with you?"
"I'm connected to him. My blood can help him achieve what he wants." Bonnie said. "He could be satisfied with mine, but if he found out about Evan and Vera, he'd use them against me. Or use me against them."
"Their magic," Caroline guessed.
Bonnie nodded. "That's why I've told them not to use it."
"Silas can use them through their magic?" Damon said and then barked a laugh. "What's next? Hood-Rat over here is some voodoo witch?"
Kat frowned. "I don't practice voodoo. I'm simply a medium."
"Fine," Bonnie said and walked right up to Damon. He watched her eyes, seeing them darken, the urge to use Expression was strong. He had caused her so much pain, had been the cause of her grandmother and mother's deaths. She inhaled to calm her rage. "Leave."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me, I said leave. You don't want to believe me fine. You never cared about me so why start now." Bonnie said. "You only wanted me back to use me as a sacrificial lamb. It's all I'm good for to you. Well I'm not having it. Do me a favor Damon, and for once in your life, fight your own battles. If Silas comes for you, deal with it. He is of little concern to me unless my family is apart of his plan."
"Why?"
"They are Bennetts," Bonnie said. "By marriage and blood. And we protect our own."

It was late when there came a knocking at the door. Around close to four in the morning, someone decided it was a good idea to go knocking on the door like a maniac. Bonnie sighed, sitting up in bed. It was too damn early for this.
"Leave it," Dante sighed as he turned over and placed an arm on her lap. "They'll go away."
The knocking on the door only got louder. "Bonnie! Open up, it's me!"
Bonnie's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "Jeremy?"
Dante glanced at her, noticing the slight aww in her tone of voice. "Should I be jealous?"
"Not you," Bonnie shook her head and planted a kiss on his nose. He frowned, showing her that he wanted more. "Trust me demon killer, I've got this."
Dante watched her get out of bed, covering herself in her robe and then started down the stairs. He got up and followed not caring that he was shirtless. He walked past his wife, nudging her in the shoulder and threw open the door. The shocked face on the other side was of a man, no more than twenty-five. He looked past Dante and at Bonnie.
"You're back," said the man, a smile on his face.
"Jeremy, it's almost four in the morning, what the hell do you want?" Bonnie asked.
"And make it snappy," Dante pressed. He didn't show any sign of pain when Bonnie swatted him.
"Who are you?" Jeremy asked.
"I'm her husband," Dante answered. "And who are you?"
"I'm her...well I was her boyfriend." Jeremy said. He looked sheepishly at Bonnie. "I was hoping we could try again, since you're in town."
Bonnie shook her head. "Not happening, Gilbert."
"Bonnie please. I mean, what can he do for you?" Jeremy asked, looking at Dante. How was this guy? Twenty-nine, almost thirty? He had ebony colored hair with what looked like strains of white as well, and very unusual eyes. "Aside from probably when a bar brawl."
Dante smirked. "I remember those."
"Sweetheart," Bonnie said and touched Dante's arm, "Why don't you go back to bed? I'll handle this."
"I'm not leaving you."
"Dante."
"Bonnie." He mocked at her. She frowned and Dante smirked, leaning in and kissed her lips. "Come on doll face, at least let me watch you tear him a new one."
"Oh you're using the Evan voice on me." Dante teased.
"Well if he didn't act like a miniature you, I wouldn't have to use it." Bonnie said and swatted him again. "Now go upstairs and get in bed."
Dante stole one last glance at Jeremy and then nodded. "I'll be upstairs. Pretty sure his loud banging woke up the kids."
"Keep Evan away."
"Should we be more worried about Vee?" Dante asked as he headed up the stairs. Bonnie shook her head and turned towards Jeremy.
"It's late," she began and then stepped out the door, closing it behind her. "What do you want, Jeremy?"
"I wanted to see you. Elena said you had come back in town. She said you," he paused and looked into her eyes. "She said you had gotten married to a demon."
"He's only half demon," Bonnie rolled her eyes. "And honestly, she can't talk about that. She shacked up with two vampires."
"He's dangerous Bonnie." Jeremy said. "And obviously he's got you under something. Why else would he keep you for eight years? Has he been using you for your magic?"
Bonnie frowned. "So you're saying the only way I could have a marriage and children was if someone was using me and compelling me?"
"No!" Jeremy said too quickly. "Bonnie, he doesn't...seem right for you."
Bonnie glared at him. "And you do?"
"If this is about Anna..."
"I'm over that Jeremy." She said and she was honest. She had been done with that for years. "I'm done with us, relationship wise. I have a family. I have a life I've lived away from all of you and honestly, it's refreshing."
"Were you ever going to come back to me?" Jeremy asked.
"No," Bonnie answered. Dante had been a mild factor. But the fact that the moment she arrived in Limbo, she wasn't needed to be a magical fix-it for anyone. Dante and Kat had told her to just get used to the city, to the feeling of Limbo. She couldn't get sucked in like Dante or enter it willingly like Kat. But she could feel it. Kat always let her know if Dante had been in trouble. As she stayed there, she grew so much closer them and her relationship with Dante continued to flourish. Before the year was done, she would up pregnant and married to the hybrid.
"Why?" Jeremy asked.
"I told your sister and I'm going to tell you." Said Bonnie, her head raised. "I'm done being a magical fix-it. I'm in town to take down Silas without you. So do me a lovely favor, and leave. Now would be nice, before my son decides to come to my aid."
"Son?" Jeremy asked.
"I did say I have children." Bonnie told him and turned to go inside.
"I waited for you." Jeremy whispered. "The least you could have done was waited for me."
Bonnie turned around, eyes blazing and her magic just itching to come to the surface. "I didn't ask you to wait, you did that all on your own. You decided to sit around and wait for me to come crawling back. Well I didn't. I moved on and I have to say, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Good night Jeremy."
She didn't bother to look at his face as she shut the door behind her. She turned around and locked it before heading upstairs. Bonnie found Dante sitting on their bed, their twins nestled on either side of them. Husband and wife met each other's eye but Bonnie said nothing, simply stripped out of her robe and crawled into bed. She wrapped her arm around Evan, who in turn rolled over and cuddled close to her.
"Mama," he whispered against her arm.
"My little spitfire," Bonnie cooed down at him and then looked at Vera. "Our little star."
Dante smiled. "Don't wake them. They knocked out the moment they came in the room, Evan wanted to stay up and wait for you."
Bonnie leaned over and kissed him. "I love you."
"I love you too, doll face." Dante smiled back at her and then kissed her nose. "Let's get some sleep."
