oh, and this chapter wasn't edited so forgive my grammar error or any other mistake, because i just finished writing it now, at 1am here in Milan after months with lack of inspiration...
That afternoon at the Fosters was an amazing afternoon;
Brandon was surprise to see how well Callie fitted with his family, he enjoy that day with her so comfortable with his pears, playing some piano together like they did this last couple of months, eating food, laughing with his siblings on joks, he didn't know why, but he felt very happy whenever Callie was next to him, like her presence would make him extremely content, and somehow she made him complete, in some way he couldn't explain.
Marianna was skeptical when Brandon said his rich friend was coming over, she couldn't understand how his brother became friends with a rich, spoiled little girl from the rich part of the city, she was so sure that this Girl Brandon has been taking about for a while was an A Class Bitch, a fake blondie with rich parents that had nothing better to do on her agenda so she decided to come and grace them with her presence. But after taking with her, seeing her interact with her family, she liked her; she was very surprised that all those idea she made of Callie before her arrival, were totally wrong, she was glad to find Callie's personality friendly, warming, she was so easy to get along with that she already felt like the sister Marianna always wanted, but never had.
Jesus didn't have any particular reactions toward Callie who he thought was very nice, polite and friendly; aside from taking to her during supper, they didn't interact much, he observed her as she talked with Marianna or his moms or Brandon, even noticing how strange Jude's reaction was;
Jude, who didn't have any expectation toward B's guest, first felt very awkward toward Callie, who strangely looked a lot like his mother… his mom… he missed her more than everything, even if Stef and Lena, the very first couple to foster him, were very nice and loving towards him and their family was so nice and full of happiness and joy that he hopped to never have to leave. As the hour progressed, he kept his distant from Callie, not bothering her, just watching her, amazed at how really she reassemble his mom that he somehow, like a satellite was attract by her, he ended up embracing her when her dad came over to get her. As she left he was left thinking how good and familiar that hug felt, but didn't know why.
"Today was great, i'm so glad that you invited me here to spend a day with your folks, they really are so nice, you're very lucky to have a family like that" Callie said as she and Brandon were walking toward Robert's car.
"I'm glad you had fun, we should do this again, my family really liked you" he said as he opened the car's door and then he said "Hello sir" to Robert
"Hey there champ, princess did you have fun today?" he responded
"I'm gonna tell you everything tonight at dinner, but yes i had so much fun that B and his family invited me to come again" Callie said with enthusiasm.
"Yeah, we had a fun outdoor day in our backyard, sir, we played the piano, we talked and have done a few games together" Brandon said
"Ok then, i'm glad you all enjoyed, now we must get going, Brandon we will see each other some other time ok?" Robert said
"Yes sir! Oh and thanks for letting Callie come and spend the day with us" he politely said as he detached himself from their car
"Of course boy, i'll talk to my wife, maybe we can set a get together between our families, you know to all talk and enjoy, Holidays are coming up, maybe between Thanksgiving and New Years we can have a BBQ" Robert suggested as Callie was easing her sit-belts, a big smile appeared on her face as she realize what her father was suggesting.
"Dad, that's an amazing idea, i mean a BBQ in our backyards is a perfect get together as nana and pops have been curious about my piano partner ever since i mention B to them, and then i can present Sophia to B's siblings, that's so great, i can't wait! B, as you go back inside tell them ok, so when we meet on our next practice we can set up a date!" Callie was exited at the idea that her dad propose, she was happy and satisfied this afternoon with Brandon's family, but now she was on cloud nine because the mere idea was exhilarating.
"Sure Callie, i'll talk to them if your all sure it's alright" Brandon said politely.
"Of course champ, i'll bet you Jill will be happy at the prospect, she hasn't hosted a party in the house for a while, i'm sure she will jump at this opportunity to trow a party. Just promise us you and your folks will be there, then everything is good" Robert said, assuring that they really wanted to host a BBQ. After seeing Brandon nodding, he turn on the engine, he and Callie both waved at the boy, starting the car toward the road; as Robert went on, he noticed a boy on the Foster's porch, he was young, with a petit frame, brown hair, definitely not Jesus, he was looking with curious eyes, in Roberts mind flashes of Coleen, but could it be? Could that boy be Callie's half brother? he didn't know, but he wanted to, he had to, maybe this gathering would be more enlightening than he first expected.
Robert was so immerse in his thoughts as he drove that he didn't notice Callie questioning him.
"Dad?!… Hey Daddy, did you heard what i said?" she was preoccupied, her dad had always listened to her or Sophia's story, had something happened while she was gone?
"Oh, i'm sorry princess, i was thinking of other things, what were you saying?" he said as he regain focus on Callie.
"Daddy, it's the week-ends, you can't think about work" she said worried, her dad was such a workaholic "anyways, i was asking you what did you do today as i was with B and his folks" Callie continue, asking her dad about his day as she searched for a good radio station.
"Nothing much, babydoll, my parents are at our place, they were a little disappointed that you weren't there, but we did spend a nice afternoon taking about stuff, Sophia kept us entertain with her story about the horse's school and her new friends. How about you, wanna give your old man a sneak peak about your fun afternoon?" he responded with nonchalance as he drove faster on the highways.
"Nope, i don't wanna repeat my version of today's story, besides we are near, how about we sung a random song, maybe we can pull down the capote and sing loudly" she said, a smirk appearing on her face as she knew, her dad wasn't very kin on her suggestion.
"Sorry kiddo, i wouldn't want a swat of policemen stopping us for what you have in mind, we can listen to now's new hit song, as i'll patiently wait dinner time, or at least as we reach home to hear about your day" He said, smiling at his daughter, remembering her mother, they were so alike sometimes that he felt very guilty hiding it from Callie, but what could he do? He loves Callie, she was family, he couldn't live away from his daughter, and he knew, neither his parents or Jill or Sophia could; so he hopped that Callie's identity would forever be hidden.
The drive wasn't that long, 20 minutes later, they were entering the to te Quinn residence; they weren't even out of the car, that the front door was opened and a bubbly and excited little sister was frenetically waiting for Callie and Robert's return.
"Oh my god! Callie, your finally back!" she said, running toward her sister, embracing her. Sophia wasn't used to not spending her free time with Callie, she was the typical little sister always following behind, but after the accident, months back, and then Callie sudden interests on the new piano buddy, she felt like her sister was leaving her behind, and Sophia hated that feeling, so as she embraced Callie, she felt relieved, as if she spent a year abroad, while in reality, it was just an afternoon.
"Wow, S, did you miss me so much this afternoon?" Callie said, she felt Sophia's hug, it was tighter than her usual hug, but the lately, her hug were like teddy bear hug, tight, warm, like every time was like a long-awaited hug, as if she left her for years. It was strange for S to be like this, but she brushed it aside, maybe they grow up in such a closeness that Sophia might find it difficult to share her time with the newcomers in her life; maybe she should pay more attention and time to her little sister.
"Of course i miss you! You always spend everyday at home, or at least with me tailing you!" she said with nonchalance
"What about me Sophie, don't I get a big hug too?" Robert said, as he got closer to the two sisters.
"Daddy, i love you, but i don't need to hug you, you've been gone just for one hour top, Callie spent the whole afternoon with her friend!" S complained.
"Come on, i heard our grandparents are inside, lets go, so i'll tell you about my day" Callie said, enjoying the interaction between her dad and S.
As they entered the house, a delicious smell of homemade dinner stuck her, her smile wide, as she assumed her mom and nana cooked today dinner; Callie wasn't wrong, before Sophia, hearing the car entering the pathway, flew over Callie and Robert; Jill, Christine and with a little help from Sophia, were preparing Dinner. It wasn't normal for the ladies to cook, but neither uncommon as they cook during the holidays, today was kind of different, they missed Callie so they cooked, at least they had something to do with their hours.
"Gosh, did you guys cooked all day after i left?" Callie asked surprise, she smelled cookies, not simple cookies, her nana's cookies were the best, but also beef?! Oh maybe her mom cooked that famous family dish she loved so much… her tummy was already anticipating the gourmet dinner.
"Yes, we cooked a few things, you know, i had nobody to follow around, mom and nana after a while of chatting and reading decided that they wanted to cook, so they did, and i helped!" Sophia said exited, as they were making their way to the kitchen.
"Is that my little Callie finally coming home that i hear?" Max said, as he was exiting the office, a big smile on him, finally happy to have the whole family reunited.
"Oh pops, i'm back! you should have told me you were coming over, i would have postponed!" Callie said as she embraced her grandpa.
"Nonsense darling, mom and dad could wait, besides a day without you was bearable, it's a preparation for when you go to college!" Robert said as he saw his dad and the girls in the hallways.
"Robert, Callie, are you home?" a feminine voice spoke from the kitchen.
I hope you liked it... please send me more reviews of what you think of my story and what would you like next on it...
