Demonology Lessons
When Damon pulled up to Shelia Bennett's house the next day, Alaric Saltzman was expecting a lot of things. He was expecting to see these so called demons that Damon had been spouting on about over their usual Thursday night drinking. He was expecting to see some horrific being with ram horns, the scales of a dragon, talons of a griffon, the torso and legs of a bull and the wielding a battle axe. He was not however, expecting to see his former student standing on the porch, a little girl with dark burgundy hair that looked almost black that was in a bun, in a black and purple romper and boots. She was swinging her legs as she read from the grimoire resting on Bonnie's knees. He also wasn't expecting a little boy with ebony colored hair throwing punches at a man with the same color hair as him.
"Come on old man, actually fight me!" cried the boy. "I can take it."
"You gotta work up to it kiddo," replied the man.
"And always watch your surroundings." Came another voice. The little boy barely had time to dodge the blows coming his way from a man with silver colored hair. Alaric has to do a double take when he noticed the men were almost identical sans the different color hair. Though as he looked closer, he noticed the streak of white running from the nape of the ebony haired man's neck.
"Always watch your six," the ebony haired man said playing off the other's words. "You never know when it will save your ass."
"Wonderful parenting," Damon commented. The three turned and looked at them.
"Yuck, the walking parasite is back." The boy responded.
"Want to repeat that twerp?" Damon snarled. "Just because your daddy's here doesn't mean I won't go through him to make that promise of mine happen."
Evan snickered. "Before you even get to me, you'll have to go through my sister first."
Damon arched an eyebrow. "Why?"
"I'm the only one who gets to kill him." Said the little girl. "Until he finds a wife suitable to do it for me."
Bonnie smiled in Alaric's direction, "Hello Ric."
Alaric smiled weakly. "Hi Bonnie."
"Back from the dead," Bonnie mused.
"Yea," he muttered. "It's not the best story in the world."
"Still munching on people?" Bonnie asked.
"Bunny diet," he replied and then nodded in the direction of her family. "Pleased to meet you all."
The ebony haired man stepped forward and extended his hand. "I'm Dante," he introduced himself. "Bonnie's husband."
Alaric blinked. This was Bonnie's husband? He didn't look like a demon, he looked like a normal young man getting close to his thirties, well the streak of white was making it a bit difficult. "Pleased to meet you. I'm her former teacher, Alaric Saltzman."
"Pleased to meet you." Dante replied and then turned towards the others in the yard. "My brother Vergil and my son Evan," he said introducing the silver haired man and the boy before turning towards the little girl and Bonnie at the porch. "And my daughter Vera. We have another family member but she's in town right now. She should be back soon."
Alaric nodded.
"So what brings you to our abode?" Vergil asked though his eyes were on Damon. The fool didn't seem to get it through his thick skull did he?
"We're here to knock some sense into witchy over there," Damon said with a growl.
Bonnie didn't even bat an eyelash at him. She simply flipped the page in the grimoire she and Vera were reading. She already said her piece, she wasn't going to help unless Silas attacked first. So unless Damon was secretly Silas in disguise, which he wasn't because she could sense him and the bastard was in hiding right now, she wasn't interested.
"You're very hard of hearing, ain't ya sad-sack?" Evan asked as he stepped forward. Damon peered down at the child. The emerald of his eyes were fading into crimson. "My mom isn't gonna help your sorry ass. So turn around and get in your shitty car and leave."
"Mr. Saltzman can stay," Vera smiled at him.
Evan turned and glared at his sister. "Really?"
"Yes."
Dante shook his head and looked at their guests. "No offense Alaric, but my wife made it perfectly clear last night that she wasn't interested in helping you guys. You guys treated her like crap and I'm sure you and a few others didn't mean it, but Damon over here is adamant in her getting hurt for his own needs. I'm not letting that happen."
"Oh yeah, well too bad." Damon said and shoved Dante.
Bonnie's head snapped up instantly. "Vera sweetheart, take your brother and go inside. Your uncle too."
"Yes Mama," Vera said and kissed her cheek before running over to grab her brother. He was reluctant to go but Vergil, noticing how Bonnie stood up and the look in her eyes, picked up his nephew over his shoulder and headed inside. Passing Bonnie, he told her he'll take them out for lunch so they can have the house to themselves afterwards.
Damon caught Bonnie walking towards them, the look in her eyes was vicious. Dante turned his head, seeing his wife come towards them. It was almost mystical how she moved. It was like watching a siren come towards you. Enticing, the way her hips swayed, the look of blood lust in her eyes. As he got closer, he saw the shimmer of emerald flames.
His wife was on the offense. She was going to protect her life mate. He remembered Phineas's warnings of claiming her. "There will be moments when she is not herself. She will be feral, giving in to the control of the mark. It is to protect you and your offspring. And you should know, the only way you can calm her is to-"
Bonnie's hand, so small and delicate, extended and she widened her palm. He felt the surge of demonic energy before she used it. This wasn't Expression, not even magic. This was Bonnie borrowing from Dante's own Devil Trigger.
Damon flew back, flying over his Camero and into the street. He was barely able to sit up before Bonnie was towering over him.
"What the hell Witchy?"
She snarled, her canines now pointed and the rims of her irises crimson in color. "Leave now."
Damon frowned. "No way Witchy," he replied and got up. "You're coming with us right now." He made his point by grabbing her arm forcefully. Bonnie's eyes narrowed and she grabbed hold of his arm and shoulder.
Ice blue eyes met blazing emerald. Damon was about ask what the hell she was doing when she dislocated his shoulder. Damon cried out, pain surging up his arm and he yanked his arm out of Bonnie's reach, holding it. Alaric moved towards them, stepping in front of Bonnie.
"We'll leave," he said. "I'm sorry about this Bonnie."
She made no sound as Alaric helped the other vampire to his car. She felt Dante's arms around her waist as the car peeled off. "Breathe for me, doll face."
Bonnie whirled around, her lips turned up in a snarl. "He shoved you."
"You're on edge," Dante reasoned and then rubbed her shoulders. "Come on, let's go inside."

"What the hell happened to you?" Jeremy asked as Alaric brought Damon into the Boarding House.
"That little bitch," Damon snarled. His arm still hadn't healed and it hurt to move. "Who the hell does she think she is!?"
"Damon, you provoked her." Alaric sighed. "And honestly, I don't think Bonnie had much control over her actions."
"You went to see Bonnie?" Elena asked. "Damon, she said she wanted to be left alone."
"You never listen!" Caroline snapped.
"Yea well, Witchy needs some sense talked into her. That demon bastard has a deeper hold on her than we thought." Damon groaned as he sat down. He nursed his arm to his chest. "Whatever she used on me, it wasn't magic."
"Damon," Caroline rolled her eyes. "You don't think it's possible that Bonnie wants to have a simple family life? Granted its with an angel-demon hybrid who is the son of a demon general."
"Angel-demon hybrid?" Jeremy was confused. He knew the guy was a demon but how could you be two polar opposites? Well, there was Klaus.
"Demon general?" Alaric asked.
"Sparda, I think his name was." Elena said.
Alaric's eyes widened. "Sparda?"
"You know of him?" Damon asked.
"In demonology he was one of the most feared demons. He rose above the ranks in the armies of Hell, becoming the left hand of Mundus; the Demon King. Until he married an Angel named Eva. From what the books say, Eva was murdered by Mundus himself, while Sparda was banished and tortured by various demons in whatever realm of Hell he's in now." Alaric explained. "A recent study came out, about him having a child; a son."
"Yea well he had two," Damon groaned.
"If Dante is the son of Sparda, than Bonnie must have been the target of a lot of demons." Alaric said. "But she used demonic energy to send Damon back. I felt it."
"You knew what that was?" Damon questioned.
"I've been studying the occult for some time Damon, plus I was dead until about five years ago, remember?" Alaric asked. "I know what demons look like. I've seen Limbo, it's a hellish place. I've never been to Hell and I'm glad."
"Is is all that bad?" Caroline asked.
Alaric nodded, a haunted look on his face. "How did Bonnie meet him?"
"He blew into town about nine years ago and shot me in the shoulder." Damon snarled.
"Well you probably deserved it if today was any indication." Alaric sighed.
"Why would Bonnie attack Damon?" Jeremy asked.
"Because Dante and Bonnie are husband and wife." Alaric explained slowly. "Demons don't take wives, they take life mates. But because Dante's half angel and because Bonnie is human, marriage works just as well. They don't need the terms but I think it gives Bonnie a bit of peace at mind. She took the mark, since she used demon energy."
"Demon energy?" Elena asked.
"Mates are able to borrow each other's abilities, depending on who they are mated with. Bonnie is mated to a hybrid, I'm sure she's used the angelic parts too, but because his parental side is a demon, that side is stronger." Alaric answered. "And before you guys ask, no she can't die or be harmed. Demons may be vicious but their mates are their number one priority. They would never harm them, even when they go berserk like Bonnie was going to."
"Berserk?" Jeremy asked. "How do you stop that?"
Alaric flustered a bit. "Ahem," he cleared his throat. No matter how old his former students got, he still felt a bit uncomfortable talking to them about these kind of things. "Demons calm their mates through carnal means. Blood lust is still a form of lust so..."
Jeremy was up and stormed out the room before Alaric could finish. Caroline snorts at that. He would think that if he asked the question on how to quell a Damon's blood lust, he should know that sex was the answer. And Bonnie was the mate of a demon, so ergo sex was the way to calm her down. Jeremy had gone to see her last night and Caroline had followed. He hadn't seen the children but Caroline had heard Bonnie telling him of how she was a mother.
From what Caroline had seen so far, Bonnie was a much better mother than Abby. She could hear Damon gearing up to make some quip about Bonnie and she was not about to hear it. In a quick motion, Caroline was up and over to Damon and snapping his neck. He slumped against the couch and Caroline turned, leaving Alaric and Elena to deal with it.
She was going to go see Bonnie.
