Wow. Its been so long.
I remember one of you guys saying something along the lines of real life coming first (sorry I'm being lazy and haven't checked who!) and it hadn't occurred to me until recently how painfully true that is. Sometimes real life hits you in the face like a train at full speed and you can't do anything but stand there and take it. Then it comes first whether you like it or not.
That's kinda what's happened to me and why I haven't updated this in so long. My apologies, I am still going, just slowly and a bit erratically for the time being. Life has just gotten in the way a tad. Bare with me you amazing people and keep telling me what you think so I can keep plodding through it.
As tradition demands, massive thank you's out to my new follower: quills-and-quiet!
And to all the special little biscuits who've left me reviews:
Mint. life~ I'm so happy to hear about your feels! Gave me feels to write it too, so chuffed I passed them on! Also it's really nice to hear your thoughts on the break up and what you think, you may be right, you may not be... Hope you stick with me long enough to find out! I'll say that there's definitely one part of what you guessed that's coming up- I won't say what though! Sorry you had to wait for so long but here it is! Let me know what ya think! xxx
Blue Eyelashes~ Back again! Bit of drama coming up! (Soon I hope) Not quite as dramatic as that, though I do love the idea, sad I didn't think of it earlier and have it planned :( Woah, hey just realised it was you who made the comment about RL, thanks for that. I'm trying hard not to be too overwhelmed.
Lady Eleanor Boleyn~ Lyra Cassopeia is cool, keeping the spacey, starry theme, huh? I was thinking about that earlier, I'll keep it in mind ;)
Also super happy you liked the chill time, and I'm in 100% agreement about wishing Logan was a jerk but it would have all made it too obvious and easy! SO sorry they're not together yet, soooooooon! Hmmm, Lucius as a middle name is an interesting concept too. Might have to debate that one with myself! Thanks for the review and your thoughts, keep 'em coming! :)
Guest 1~ So glad you found it, and that you got stuck! Sorry for being the kind of erratic writer I am though and making you wait so long for this one! Hope you're still with me. Give me a shout if you are and let me know if you like this chap too!
Fanficfan~ Rereading your review just made me grin a bit stupidly! So glad you liked it. Hope you like this chapter toooooo! And to answer your second review: HERE'S THE NEXT CHAPTER!
Guest 2~ Don't know if you're the same guest so I'll assume no to be safe. I will keep posting! More Scor moments coming up too! Stay tuned and hope this chap doesn't put you off!
Jenn~ *bats stick away* *rubs eyes* *mumbles apology* *finishes chapter* *groggily writes all of the above and uploads* I'm good, Jenn. Thanks for checking and giving me a little nudge. Knowing someone still thought about the fic gave me the motivation to get back to it and finish the chapter. Here ya are xx
So yeah, hope you like it guys, sorry it's a bit overdue. Don't fine me.
Keep reading and reviewing,
Cookie xx
Chapter 37- Eggcitement, Eggspectation, and Terrible Puns?
"Sooo, will we be seeing this boyfriend of yours over the break then?"
Roxanne almost spluttered her food out of her mouth. She looked over at her dad who was grumpily pushing his food around his plate. Mum had probably told him to hold his tongue for the time being on anything boyfriend-related but in all honesty, Roxanne wished her mum would too.
Roxanne recovered from the sudden turn in conversation, seeing as they'd only just been talking about the Quidditch finals after the holidays.
"Um, no. He's skiing" she answered, tactically filling her mouth with food so that she could pause to swallow if a more difficult question was asked.
"Skiing? Oh, shame. I was dying to have him round" Fred answered between mouthfuls.
"Just because you don't like your sister's boyfriend, doesn't meet we don't want to get to know him, Fred. " Angelina said, half chastising.
"Trust me you don't, he's an ass" Fred replied with a mouthful of veg.
"He's not an ass mum, Fred just hates him because he plays for Slytherin and the other beater tried to knock Al out last match"
"Hey, I hated him before that thank you very much"
Angelina chuckled, happy that her children were noticeably closer this year.
"Whatever." Roxanne threw back, before turning to her mum, "You can meet him next holiday-"
"You're still going to be with the guy in summer?" Fred interrupted.
"Why wouldn't I Freddie? I don't plan my relationships to be as short as yours are" she heard a small snicker from her dad and smirked a tiny bit. Teasing Freddie about his exes was one of her favourite new things to do. Especially since she'd hung out with him and Elliott and James last week and they had pretty much dished everything out to her. It had helped that it was at the post-match party and they were a little drunk.
"I don't plan mine to be short either!"
"Shame, you should just lie and say you do. It's less sad that way" her mum openly laughed at that.
"You little-"he began, still with a smile upon his face. Their teasing was commonplace now.
"Enough!" George interrupted trying to sound authoritative despite the obvious amusement in his voice, "Fred, pass me the gravy. Rox, another Yorkshire pudding please"
Fred snorted and both Roxanne and her mother rolled her eyes. Both the children obliged though. George sat back with a smile when Fred then went ahead and poured the Yorkshire that Rox had supplied full of gravy, just the way he liked.
"It's good to have you guys back" George told them, smiling at the two people he sometimes couldn't believe he'd had a hand in creating.
"If only for the free labour?" Angelina asked, with a wry smile.
"Of course only for the free labour" George affirmed. "Speaking of, if you two can agree to not argue for one evening, I need some help with Christmas products."
"Christmas designs at Easter? What do you expect me to answer dad?" Fred asked with false shock, as if he would want to do anything else.
"I thought it would be polite to ask, besides you might have plans over the week"
"Pshh. Plans that would come over the possible creation of destruction, horror and torment for Christmas next year?" he asked with his eyes alight and mind whirring.
"Creation of destruction doesn't make sense, Freddie" Roxanne pointed out, "It's an oxymoron"
"You're an oxymoron" he retorted childishly. Giving his dad a high five for it.
Roxanne settled for giving her brother a mostly playful punch to the arm. Freddie winced and Roxanne got a high five from her mum for it. Just to keep things fair. ~
"We are gathered here today, to uphold…" Ginny began solemnly, "a long-standing tradition we all hold dear to our hearts, to celebrate the union of ideas and cultures, of fun and joy and all things seasonal. To play… the annual… the spectacular… the pretty-damn-chaotic game that is the…Golden Egg Hunt!"
She allowed a pause for the assembled small crowd that was the offspring she and her brothers had managed- separately of course- to produce over the years. She appreciated that they hushed themselves and she didn't have to raise her voice to continue.
"Now, of course, as it has fallen upon the Potter household to host this year, neither I, nor my husband or kids know where any of the eggs are. Grandad has hidden them around the garden, haven't you dad?"
To which a greying Arthur Weasley nodded, looking pretty pleased with himself.
"Good, so as Vic and Audrey had to be at St Mungo's today, we've got a nice 'n' even 21 players, captains you get six team members. Keep it fair though, no one gets Angie and me together" Ginny smirked at her best friend and Captain. ~
"They'll have to add me to that list in a couple years" James whispered to Roxanne next to him cockily.
"I'm not sure two years qualifies you as a significant advantage Jamesie. Will you have even made it onto the main team by then?" Roxanne whispered back, tuning back in to Ginny's refresher of the rules.
"-Four on the ground of course including the captains to collect all the eggs and set off the camopults, expertly provided by my dear brother" Ginny paused as the family gave their yearly clap to George for his camouflaged catapults which would be flinging eggs into the air when anyone stepped within two meters of them. George bowed with a flourish, making them all laugh and Roxanne and Freddie roll their eyes.
"So, are we all clear on rules?"
"Yeah!" the assembled twenty family members shouted back.
"Good, now dad's going to release the golden egg just after everything's been found, right dad?"
Again, Arthur grinned from his chair by the backdoor of Ginny and Harry's country home.
"Correct, Ginbug"
Roxanne noticed Ginny roll her eyes but smile fondly at the nickname. She turned back to the group of Weasleys and Potters standing in front of her.
"Captains, grab a space, and Ron, your pick first"
"Gin" Ron answered straight away, receiving a scowl from Harry.
"Aw, so he does know whose kitchen he's eating in today!" Ginny laughed, going to stand with her brother, leaving Harry and Hermione to pick their first players without instruction.
By the end of the picking, the Golden Trio, for whom the annual event was named, had their teams.
Harry, forced to stay on the ground (by the peculiar set of rules that had evolved over the years) would have Bill, Lucy and Teddy on the floor with him. In the air on his team would be Lily, Angelina, and Hugo. Hermione would be accompanied by Percy, Molly and Fleur at ground level and had Albus, Louis and Fred in the air. Ron, who looked very pleased with the team he'd managed to pick out, had George, Rose and Dominique with him on the floor and Ginny, James and Roxanne playing in the air.
It was over to Arthur Weasley, whose wife was inside cooking up a storm, to start off the game. He took out his beloved Muggle starting pistol that Harry had bought for him one year from an old sports shop and fired it into the air above him, the noise making him jump a little and the assembled teams sprint off or kick off toward the sky. ~
It was pandemonium.
The air in the expansive back garden (about half the size of a Quidditch pitch) was filled with a cacophony of wails, cries of frustration and screams of laughter. A typical Weasley holiday day.
Roxanne could see Teddy and Dom directly below her play-wrestling over a shiny green egg. So, while he was distracted, as the rules of the game somehow allowed her to do, she swooped down past them and stole an egg from the basket he had strapped to his back.
"Hey!" he turned, calling up at her, Roxanne only gave him a cheeky salute and laughed as Dom used his distraction to pin him on his side, take the egg they were fighting over, deposit it in her own basket and run away in the opposite direction.
Roxanne caught another few eggs in the next two minutes, someone must have run through a dense area of camopults because they all came flying in quick succession near to her, by the time the other air players had seen the chance, she'd basketed the eggs and flown off.
"Hey Rox, how many you got?" James asked, pulling up alongside her, and peering into the basket on her back.
"Lost count, you?"
"Same" he grinned, "Your haul looks pretty good though, not quite as good as mine probably is, but still not bad"
Roxanne only rolled her eyes at his attempt to be competitive, even within his own team, "Yeah, I was just thinking about going down to deposit but Bill's hanging around the banks"
"Of course he is. Want to tag team?" Roxanne grinned, they could get past Uncle Bill if they went together, that way they wouldn't need to unclip the baskets from their back, which took time and left them vulnerable to steals from other ground players.
"Okay so if we don't touch down, he can't take anything-"
"And if we hover over the bank, I can empty your basket and you can do mine"
"Exactly" James grinned back.
"I like it. Let's go"~
The rush of the entirely made up game didn't fade even part of the way through for Roxanne, there was always something to look out for. Eggs being propelled into the air; vulnerable family members on the ground she could steal from; team members that needed helping out…
She and James were the only fliers that she'd seen empty their baskets this game. That was normal, fliers couldn't steal from fliers so if they never touched the ground, they never lost their eggs. She had only thought to empty hers with James earlier because empty baskets were easier to fly with. But the fact no one else had got her thinking…
She rattled off her idea to James who immediately let Ginny know. She handed off her collection of eggs to her aunt and flew to where Dom was engaged in yet another Auror-on-Almost-Auror play fight; this time with her Uncle Harry.
Roxanne hadn't come down this reason but couldn't resist the opportunity. She flew low at Harry and snatched two eggs from his basket. He didn't make the same mistake as Teddy and managed to get the egg he and Dom were fighting over, but it didn't matter because Rox then flew over to their team bank and upped their score by two.
She dismounted and jogged back over to Dom who looked like she was preparing to climb a tree.
"Dom, wait"
"Rox, what are you doing on the ground anyone could-"
"Jump out and steal your points!" finished Lucy, jumping out at Roxanne from behind a bush. She knocked her cousin to the floor and Roxanne laughed as she plunged her hands into her basket excitedly, thinking she'd caught her unawares. She had in truth- only Roxanne's basket had been emptied before she came back down to ground level.
Lucy laughed and stood up, holding a hand out for the cousin she'd just knocked over. "Good play, Rox good play."
"Why thank you, Luce" she mock bowed back, "Good tackle" she responded. To which Lucy also bowed before running off, to continue her search.
"You were saying?" Roxanne arched an eyebrow at Dom, who just punched her playfully on the arm.
"Okay, you're a smarty strategy queen, whatever. Now what's the plan?"
"How'd you know there was a plan?"
"It's you Roxanne, of course there's a plan" she grinned at the rhyme and pulled her cousin closer.
"C'mon, fill me in"~
Freddie was pretty darn confident this year, he Albus and Louis had the air and had been making some serious gains while James and Rox wasted their time banking eggs. They didn't need to bank anything, the ground players did sure, but the fliers? No, they didn't, it was silly. For every set of eggs his sister and best friend banked, Hermione's Angels – as they'd decided to call themselves- had managed to catch an extra egg each on average. Harry's team were a bit worrying, but he had to hope that them having Teddy on the ground and Lily in the air would be the choice that undid them. Lily was great at tree climbing and could move faster on the ground through bushes than Teddy could. While he was still a pretty great chaser and would have been better at catching free-falling objects.
Still, the game wasn't won yet, James had a stupid grin on his face, and Roxanne was on the floor talking to their dad and Ron which meant she probably had some sort of plan brewing. He'd have to keep an eye on her.~
It was down to the last few minutes, which they knew because the eggs flying through the air had all but stopped. That meant most of the ground had been searched. Which also meant Grandad would release the Golden Egg soon. The atmosphere was tense, all the ground players had banked their eggs now, their baskets sitting empty on their backs. The fliers were hovering randomly over the garden, waiting and watching. Roxanne was hoping that their plan would work.
Then with the slightest twitch of Arthur Weasley's wand, what they'd all been waiting for happened, a huge bang followed as Arthur Weasley triggered whatever invisible mechanism had been holding the all-important Golden Egg down. It shot up into the air like a bullet, passing closest to Roxanne's mum. Roxy was at the opposite end of the pitch so could only watch for a moment as James and Ginny sprang into action. They sped up to equal speed with Angelina who was currently going for the Golden Egg which had a much higher trajectory than all those before it. Roxanne could see that Angelina was shouting something at the people either side of her, over the noise of the wind and cheering of the rest of the family. Once she knew the two were in their position, Roxanne flew across to get into hers. ~
"It's going to be mine Gin!"
"Not this year, Cap'!" Ginny shouted in response, the pair were highly competitive with each other when it came to the Golden Egg Hunt. Angelina laughed as she positioned herself on her broom in order to speed up, the egg was in line with her and she anticipated that both James and Ginny would move in towards it soon, if she could get out of the way at just the right moment, they would crash.
What she wasn't expecting though, was what came next. The two either side of her linked their arms through hers, shocked by the sudden contact, she didn't manage to get her arms free before they clamped down and steered her off course.
"What are you doing? Fliers can't steal from fliers!"
"We're not stealing, Aunty Angie" James replied as he and Ginny pulled a confused looking Angelina with them in a slow upwards loop. It was too late by the time Angie processed what they were up to.
"They're stealing them" James added as they neared the top of the loop and eggs started to fall from the full basket on her back. The ground players from Ron's team had assembled themselves almost directly under Angelina and were grabbing eggs as quickly as they could. She was unable to get out of the almost vertical path they now had her on, flying toward the ground. She could feel the eggs tumbling out of her basket, no matter how hard she tried to lean back to stop them.
When the pair finally let her go, her basket was empty, the Golden Egg had been caught by her daughter and there were shouts of complaint coming from all corners of the garden. Only just drowned out by the cheers from Ron's team, Arthur had just made the walls of the team's banks invisible so the eggs inside could be seen. It was a clear victory for them. Though Angie wasn't sure if it was on the most stable of grounds.
Should technicalities count?
She landed and only glared at her best friend when she gave her a pat on the bum for a good game as they usually gave each other at the end of every match. ~
"Grandad, that was so clearly cheating!" Fred complained louder than most, obviously not liking that both his sister and best friend had bragging rights for a year now. "It's not in the rules, munchkin" Ginny told him with a laugh, conjuring the literally golden rule book from inside the house.
She threw it to him, "Find an out Freddie, go on"
He furiously opened the book and began to flick through it before stopping. "Wait, didn't you write this Aunt 'Mione?"
She sighed and nodded her head, she didn't know of anything in the book that made their move illegal. And it was her job to find rules that made things illegal. She couldn't see them winning this case.
"I don't think it's technically against the rules Fred" she told him.
"Yeah Fred, we found a loophole, a loophole, geddit?!" James doubled over laughing at his own joke. Roxanne had to snigger at it too.
"Wait, but what's the rule about fliers taking eggs from fliers?"
"The rule states that 'fliers cannot forcefully take eggs from other fliers' baskets', it doesn't say that they can't force them to drop their own eggs. Technically James and Gin didn't touch the eggs so technically they did not take them."
"Ha!" Dom added, grinning at Teddy who'd gotten his own back and tackled her when Angie's haul had come falling from the air.
"I think the rulebook should be updated. No offence Aunty Hermione, but someone should have seen that coming"
"Literally no one saw that coming, Mol" Lucy told her older sister. "That's why it worked"
"Okay well I still think we should add it to the rules" she said, crossing her arms over her chest in the way that she always did.
"Seconded" agreed a still slightly annoyed Angelina, she was not happy about how the game ended, but mostly because it would mean Ginny would torment her with it for the next year.
"Children, children please!" Arthur chuckled, "We can add it to the rules. But as for today, Ron, you get to take the Golden Egg home this year!" he finished before more bickering over the rules could occur. He was tired from all the excitement and pretty hungry now.
He tossed the large egg that was both a game piece and a trophy to his youngest son and made his way inside as the winners cheered and took their victory lap.~
"So, what do you reckon then?" Victoire asked her cousins around her, smiling when they all nodded their agreement. She'd just brought them all upstairs to her room to ask them if they wanted to spend the night at her house later that week. It was too loud to talk downstairs as the boys were currently wrestling.
Victoire had only just caught Dom's sleeve before she'd jumped in with them. Luckily for the boys.
Dominique smiled, it had been her idea to have a girl's night at some point over the holidays, and the sisters had been talking about it this morning. Dom had thought of it, half because Vic was really stressed in her final stages of training, and half because all the testosterone on her own training course was higher than ever. She didn't mind that, but she thought while everyone was home for the holidays she might as well get some girly time in.
"Sounds great sis, I really hope you don't have work the next day though" Dom told her with a sly smile.
"Why? It's a girl's night in Dom. Not a night out. Besides, there's only us, Mel and Mol who are legally allowed to drink"
"Oh yeah and we only started drinking when it was legal?" Dominique laughed, Vic smiled a little, because they both knew she couldn't deny it.
"You girls have all been drunk before haven't you?" she asked, turning to her cousins in the room, all of whom were smiling and nodded.
Molly shook her head, and looked vaguely judgemental. Dom just figured that was her normal expression.
"Okay fine, so everyone but Saint Molly has been drunk"
"Don't call me that" Molly told her annoyed.
"I'll stop if you have a drink with the rest of us on Friday"
"Fine, I'll have a drink"
"That's the spirit, Saint Mol"
"Dom" Vic warned, but Dom just ignored her sister and chose to smile back at her glaring cousin, who had always been too easy to wind up.
"So what does this girl's night entail exactly?" Roxanne asked Vic who had pitched it to the group.
"Well, Dom suggested it. I was only thinking of dinner and movies at mine, just a sleepover really. We haven't caught up enough with you all yet"
"Plus, it would be nice to be able to have a conversation without the rest of the family knowing, isn't that right James!" she shouted the last bit and waved her wand at the door, pulling it open and causing James and Fred to come falling through it in a small pile.
"How did you know?" James asked as he stood up, and held his hand out for Freddie. They both looked a little disappointed that they'd been rumbled.
"Auror super hearing" she told them, twirling her wand. "Now go back downstairs, and you can tell everyone else we're not planning any pranks, this is literally just for a sleepover" she ordered.
"Fine, whatever – didn't want to hear about your girly night in anyway. Sounds pretty lame if you ask us" James said, disheartened, pulling Fred with him down the stairs from the loft.
"How did you know?" Lucy asked, as Dom shut the door again with her wand, this time putting a silencing charm around it.
"I didn't. I just assumed that James would follow us up once we all left the den. They'd assume we were prank planning"
"And are we prank planning…?" Roxanne asked suspiciously with excitement in her voice.
"Oh darling, of course we are. That's my next item on the agenda"
"Brilliant." ~
Roxanne resisted the urge to laugh aloud at her brother as he walked over to her. His hair had ever so slightly been lightening in colour all morning. In an hour or so it should be light bleach blonde and a few hours after that, it would hopefully become transparent - making him appear bald but not feel it. If the prank had happened properly, the same would happen to all her male cousins at some point over the next few days.
Dom had 'borrowed' some hair-transparency potion from the WWW pre-release stock and the girls were taking turns adding it to the water supply as their brothers showered. Roxanne had spiked Freddie's shower water that morning as they were working at WWW for the day and it seemed the perfect place for his hair to disappear. Plus her dad wouldn't mention it because again, his son was a walking advertisement, he was walking around with her camera in her pocket ready for the big reveal, or rather the big disappearance.
"Hey, Fred time for a swap?" she asked, referring to their current positions in the store. He was out on the floor, restocking and stacking while she was currently behind the tills dealing with purchases.
"Sure" he agreed, not minding where he was when he was working at WWW. She almost felt a little guilty for the prank seeing as he was being so nice today, but then she remembered him rigging a bucket of glitter to fall on her when she went to bed last night. Even magic couldn't fully get glitter out of hair, so all the guilt she had had for a few seconds disappeared and she swapped positions, leaving Fred by the tills so every customer buying something could see him. ~
Roxanne was in the stockroom, taking out more of the products the shop was running low on, when one of her favourite voices asked her something from the doorway.
"Please tell me you'll never do to me, whatever it is you've done to your brother today" She couldn't help the smile that automatically lit up her face, nor did she even notice the involuntary reaction.
"No customers allowed in the back, Malfoy. Who let you in?" she asked without turning to face him.
"Your brother actually. I was just buying some stuff for the twins and he said you were back here. Though there seems to be something up with his head. Did you slip him a balding potion?"
She beamed, "How bald is he precisely?"
"Pre-death Slughorn level of bald, I reckon"
"Brilliant. You can help me with this, because I have got to get a look before someone gives it away" she told him, handing him a list of products that needed to come out of there and onto the shop floor. She had to Accio each product down from the shelves and manually carry them out or levitate them ahead of her because Accio'ing them from the shop might mean they would hit customers on the way- which was never good for business.
"What no hug first?" he pouted, holding his arms open to her.
"When my brother's hair is disappearing? Scor, I've got to get back out there to see it"
She summoned two more boxes of Pumpkin Poppers and a third Skiving Snack box crate. Adding them to the pile she was building.
"Okay, well I refuse to work without a hug, I'm not a slave you know. Some form of payment is needed" he folded his arms over across his chest. The tight navy t-shirt he was wearing made his eyes seem all the more blue when they looked at hers defiantly.
"How 'bout I pay you in withheld punches?" she responded, not giving into those eyes of his.
"We've established by now that you can't actually withhold punches Rox. Besides I'm so used to them by now, it's not even a threat"
She pouted now, "Fine then" she held her arms open and he smirked at her before stepping closer. Her heart fluttered a little as he put his arms around her waist and squeezed her to him lifting her off her feet. Her small giggle was interrupted by a deep throat-clearing from the doorway Scor had vacated not that long ago.
It had been her dad pretending to cough. "I'm paying you to work, Kiddo. Not meet up with your friends." She narrowed her eyes at the way her dad said the word friends and his eyes only glittered back with mischief.
"Nice to see you again, Mr Weasley" Scorpius said, holding his hand out to George Weasley formally. He'd put his daughter down at the first noise he'd heard and managed to keep up his special mask that stopped him from looking guilty. Roxanne rolled her eyes, marvelling at the way Scorpius couldn't seem to help his pureblood upbringing from slipping out whenever adults showed up.
"Pleasure, Mr Malfoy" George responded in kind, shaking Scor's hand.
A small buzz was heard and Scor ripped his hand away, rubbing at a small red mark in the centre of his palm, looking confused.
"Dad!" Roxanne chastised. Though she would admit, Scor's expression was pretty amusing. Still, she wouldn't tell her dad that- someone had to discourage his behaviour- at least some of the time.
"What?"
"I thought you'd thrown that thing away, it's horrible"
"Oh come on, Roxy, its harmless. You're fine aren't you, Malfoy?"
Scorpius had stopped rubbing at his hand and had a small smile on his face at Roxanne's defence of him, "Absolutely, sir"
"See?" he addressed his daughter. "Oh and please call me George. I'm definitely not adult enough to be called 'sir'" he said, turning to Scor.
"Sure thing, George" he responded.
"Are you staying to help out today then? Or have you got places to be?"
"Nowhere to be, Si-. I mean George. So I could stay to help if you need an extra pair of hands"
"Oh, neither of my kids are actually needed today. But you're welcome to stay if you want. I'll pay you what I pay Roxy for every hour you help out"
"Oh no, no need to-"
"No no, Scorpius it's no trouble at all, I'll see you kids later" and with that he left the room.
Roxanne rolled her eyes in the way her dad often caused her to, "He pays us nothing by the way"
"Oh"
"Yeah, sorry about that. My dad has a habit of messing with people."
"It's alright. I'm just not great with people's parents" he admitted, thinking of Luna and Rolf.
"Don't be silly. My mother loved you. Also my dad really liked how you pissed off Uncle Ron, when you were over. He's just messing with you to try to embarrass me."
"Should I let him know it didn't work well enough?"
"I don't know, Scor that was pretty embarrassing. He needs no encouragement to try and up his game"
"Yeah but your ears aren't red yet so, couldn't have been that bad." He said, tucking some curls behind her ear on one side so they were both visible. He smirked that infuriating smirk of his, and Roxanne had to focus on not blushing as she was reminded of all the times he'd knowingly smirked at the embarrassment he'd caused her before now.
Stupid Weasley trait.
She only shoved at him a little in response, and let the hair she had up in a ponytail out. Flicking her hair over her shoulders she handed him the list he'd dropped when he put her down, smiled too sweetly and gave him his working orders before leaving the room with her assembled stock levitating closely behind her. ~
A/N:
I'll admit it was kinda just a fillery chapter. Just some small bits of Weasley fun and a tiny bit of the hols. It's what's coming that should have you on the edge of your seats!
I'll tell you this much, there's going to be a drunk girly night in, someone's going to end up in hospital, and there may or may not be some cute Scorpianne moments!
Anyway, for the time being, tell me what you thought of this chap and what you think/ would like to see coming. (Other than a breakup because same here. Same here x1000)
I can't give you much of an idea of when the next chap will be out, if things go well by the end of the month. If life's a bitch- as she often is- who knows.
But I will try.
Love you guys loads hope you love me tooooo,
Cookie xxxx
N.B: Haven't given this my final SPAG check over but just want to get it out now, so apologies if it's worse than usual. Feel free to point out any monster mistakes/confusing lines (I write a lot late at night so very possible sense speech doesn't make)! As always, DFTR!
