Tony Stark

Tony Stark, despite his well-known status as a narcissistic play-boy, took quite a bit of caution to ensure he did not accidentally sire any unplanned heirs. This included evading any shady tactics by outside parties to force an "accidental" pregnancy, his legacy was his own to control.

Even as he finally settled on pursuing an actual relationship with Pepper Potts, having a child was not even on his radar.

The hero could count with his one pointing finger the amount of women that ever slipped past his defenses, and he went home to her every night.
Or so he thought.

Apparently that had been on other woman.

To Pepper's frustration and amusement, Tony looked thoroughly shut down as he took a glance at the paper in his hands and then at the teenage girl in front of him. And bless that red-haired woman, she was able to push past her own feelings to console the anxious girl, who looked increasingly uncomfortable under Tony's flabbergasted stare.

Kagome Higurashi, an enigma. She was absolutely darling in Pepper's eyes, she was the epitome of polite and kind – quick to refuse any handouts and felt just as putout as the billionaire. But unlike the typical hormonal teenager struggling through life, Kagome was very well adjusted. She did not fumble when talking about her plans for the future, Kagome held herself with a confidence and intelligence that was well reflective of Tony's own person. And to top it off, to Tony's developing disappointment, Kagome had not planned on staying in America with him – she had just come to say hi at her mother's insistence.

And Pepper could not be more entertained as her partner, Tony Stark evolved from a nervous tick to a very desperate father around Kagome. By the seventh day with Kagome's seemingly inevitable departure on the tenth day, Tony had all but glued himself to his biological daughter's side. And poor girl, she was looking more and more like an angsty teenager trying to evade her parent's fussing.

But there was a twinkle in her hazelnut eyes, eyes that Pepper couldn't help but love – as it reminded her of Tony, but so much more gentle and caring. Eyes that reflected hope every time the half-Asian girl glanced up at her recently-obtained father.

How could Pepper not help to try and convince the girl to say?

If not for Tony's sake, but the seed planted in her own heart bloomed quickly the more she spent time with the gentle teenager.

Tony's eyes burned the longer he fought the urge to blink, he was sure they were red at this point. But he couldn't look away. The monitor before him flickered as it switched to another point of view, one that displayed the profiles of the two figures sitting at a local deli.

His daughter tilted her head as she laughed with an unreserved happiness. It warmed his heart to see her so happy but it wasn't without the dark cloud that hovered over him as it was not him or Pepper that made her so happy this time around.

Did he want to be the overbearing father that watched her with every available piece of technology? No, but he knew how teenagers worked – heck he acted like one well into his thirties. And there was no way in hell that his precious Kagome was going to be going down that pathway.

"Tony, if there's something I can reassure you about Kagome, it's that she will definitely not be some play-boy bunny," Pepper stressed with a fond smile on her lips, "I mean, that being said she'll definitely have some boys after her. So get ready. But please stop monitoring her – she's a smart and mature girl. She won't disappoint you."

Tony watched in horror as Pepper fell over into lovely giggles, her body now sprawled across the living room couch. Whereas his soul left his body and cleared the stratosphere at her words.

'Hell yeah Kagome's the best, and it was no brainer that she's a looker – no doubt going to be drop-dead gorgeous in a couple years thanks to me and her mom,' Tony thought, finally forced to blink but only at his permission when the boy Kagome sat across from finally turned away, 'But boys, they can't be trusted!'

Tony could imagine Pepper rolling her eyes straight to the North Pole if she heard his thoughts. Not that she needed to, that fiery red-head always seemed to know what he was thinking. His heart skipped a beat as he thought of his lover.

'No, focus! Kagome needs you!' And like that, Tony set his sights on one Peter Parker and with some intense digging – he discovered the awkward, nerdy brunette moonlit as the newly debuted Spider-Man.

Just how did Kagome gather the weirdos?

Tony stared down the boy twitching nervously in front of him, there were so many more things he wanted to discuss with the arachnid. But he figured that he could save them for later, after all they were on a time crunch. They were due in Germany to meet the way-ward Captain America.

"Alright kid, keep your phone charged and start packing– someone will contact you and pick you up," He smirked, patting down his jacket to press away any suspicion before opening the teenager's bedroom door, "Gotta say bye to your Aunt May."

"W-Wait Mr. Stark!" Peter Parker finally breathed, his body jerking forward and arm raised for a brief second before dropping.

Tony nodded in acknowledgement.

"Um, does…does Kagome know?" His voice tapered off slowly, eyes widening shyly.

Iron Man could have shot himself in the face with his repulsor gloves. The young hero's expression was almost painful to look at, those soft brown eyes practically cartoonish and displayed way too many emotions for Tony to comprehend logically.

"Don't worry about that kid," Tony groaned, palming his face to try and erase the image from his eyes. Because yes, of course his genius daughter knew exactly what Peter did at night in sweats. "Just please do me a favor and don't talk about my daughter with that voice."

"Voice? My voice? What's wrong with my voice?!" Peter spoke with an uncomfortable pitch.

'Lord,' The father shriveled up on the inside, 'Is he kidding me right now?'

Tony pointed a stern finger at the boy, his nail just a breath away from the sweaty teen's forehead. He nearly faltered as the boy crossed his eyes in reflex, what's with these kids these days playing at his soft side?

'Focus.'

"We'll talk about this later, but you touch, talk or look at her the wrong way – and I'll make sure you'll wish you were turned into an actual spider. Capisci?" (You understand?)

Peter's spine straightened and Tony gave the kid brownie points as a seriousness settled over the teenager's young face.

"Si signore, non le farò mai del male," Spider-man declared solemnly. (Yes sir, I will never hurt her.)

"Good, also why do you know Italian? Nevermind that, don't tell me," Tony booked it out of the room, not wanting to spend anymore time with the boy that took away his daughter's attention. 'Teenagers are gross, teenagers are gross, they'll take away Kagome and corrupt her,' he repeated in his mind, determined not to become attached to the soft looking boy.

Kagome was his priority.
