Brittany was zoning out. She was starting to think that Santana was right, that they couldn't change, just hide until they could be who they were. This realization made therapy even more boring than usual until suddenly Mike stood up.

"I'm a heterosexual."

"Well, not quite Mike, you're almost there!" Will said encouragingly.

"No, I mean I've never been gay. Everyone thinks I'm gay because I like to dance and I'm not as buff as other guys. But I like girls. I can't help it. I like Tina. I don't need to be here. I quit." He stood up.

"Wait! I quit too." Tina stood up. Mike looked back at her. "I think I'm straight too. And I like Mike back."

Will tried to convince Mike and Tina to stay and finish the program, in order to have the best chance at staying straight, but they were adamant that it was useless for them. Sue didn't care, since she still claimed them as success stories and their parents had paid in advance anyway.

"Brittany, Santana – don't let them make you hate yourselves, okay?" Tina said while packing her things. "It's okay to be who you are. Facebook me when you are outta here, okay? We'll hang out."

Tina went to Lima High with Brittany, but the two had never hung out before. Tina was a junior and Brittany a senior, and their crowds didn't exactly mix. Santana lived just outside of Lima, but attended a private Catholic girls high school. She didn't really think they'd hang out, but she found herself promising to anyway.

With Tina gone, and Rachel openly loving the fact that Santana and Brittany liked each other, there was a lot of "inappropriate behavior" going on in the girls' room. But Rachel was always around, and Sue or Emma checked on them frequently, so the inappropriate behavior mostly stayed PG.

The same apparently could not be said for the boys. Blaine and Kurt snuck out one night and had sex in the woods. Unfortunately for them, Sebastian saw them leaving, and told the leaders, who caught them just after they had finished. Kurt was already on shaky ground due to his flamboyance that could not be tamed, and was kicked out. Blaine worked out a deal to stay.

Kurt's parents had made it clear that he could not come home if he did not finish the program. With nowhere else to turn, he made his way to Rachel's house, where her dads welcomed him. He called Tina and Mike, who came over as soon as they heard.

"He was supposed to come with me, and he didn't." He cried into Tina's lap.

"Whoa slow down. Who?" She asked.

"Blaine."

"I knew it! He was into you from the start." Mike crowed.

"Then why didn't he come with me?"

"Maybe he was scared."

"Like I'm not?"

"Believe me, you're better off here."

The end of the "course" finally rolled around. Santana could not quite believe that Sue, Emma, and Will honestly thought this somehow was going to prove that they were straight. It mostly involved rolling around in a unitard pretending to have sex with a boy. Given that she was already kind of grossed out by the idea, this really did not help. But they all did it, and started planning for "graduation."

"I have an idea."

Tina and Mike were hanging out with Kurt again. They knew that the New Directions graduation was in a few days.

"We go in there and sing a song. Make him see that you're meant to be together. Make them all see that there's nothing wrong with being gay."

There was nothing Kurt liked better than singing and dancing, so he was in. They managed to get word to Rachel about it under the guise of her father (they had only told New Directions that she had one dad) talking to her about the details of the graduation. Rachel told Brittany and Santana and tried to get them involved as well, but they insisted it was too much of a risk with their parents there. She taught them the dance moves anyway, "just in case."

The day of the graduation, the remaining students – Rachel, Santana, Brittany, Sebastian, and Dave – dressed up in their best pink and blue and greeted their families. Rachel's dads both came, and smuggled in speakers to play the music on. Mike, Tina, and Kurt came along but hid behind some trees, ready to burst in on cue.

"Welcome to the graduating class of New Directions!" Sue greeted the group. "Ladies and gentlemen, may I present our happy heterosexuals!"

The five students walked up to the front and took their seats.

Music suddenly started playing, and the three teenagers ran up to join Rachel, who had jumped out of her seat and started the song.

It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up, cause you were born this way, baby

My daddy told me when I was young, we are all born superstars
He rolled my hair and put my lipstick on, in the glass of his boudoir
There's nothing wrong with loving who you are, he said, cause he made you perfect babe
So hold your head up girl and you'll go far, listen to me when I say

Kurt took over, singing directly to Blaine, while the others danced behind him.

I'm beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way

By the time they got to the second verse, Blaine was up and dancing with the rest of them. Sebastian followed shortly after. Despite hating that Kurt was the one Blaine wanted, he never could resist a good dance number. Brittany looked at Santana, who was frozen in place. She joined the rest of the group, dancing her heart out but rarely losing eye contact with her girlfriend. On the next chorus she reached out her hand, and Santana couldn't help but allow herself to be pulled up and join the group. She was, after all, also a Glee club kid. She steadfastly did not look at her parents while they finished the song, looking only at Brittany. Last to join was the non-musical Dave, but not one to be left out, he got up and tried to join in with the dancing in the back.

"Your message is wrong, and it doesn't work – nobody who came in here gay is leaving straight." Rachel said. "They are who they are, and that's okay."

Most of the parents were moved by the song, and came up to embrace their kids in tears. Santana's dad and stepmother, on the other hand, were gone before it was even over.

However, from in the back of the room came a figure Santana hadn't seen in years.

"Mom? What are you doing here?"

"Your father invited me to come to this graduation. Honey, I didn't know you were here. I didn't know you were gay, or that your father was so upset about it."

"How would you, you haven't seen me since I was 7 years old."

"Your father and I thought it was best for you, but I see now that was not true. I have to apologize, and let you know that I love you, gay or straight. You are always welcome at my house."
