Chapter 2: On a firetruck
"You good, Chris?" Buck breathes out as they have just sat up and moved to the middle of the firetruck, railings around so they won't fall off. Buck his holding on tight hugging him, this is safe and it's nice.
"Yep, I took surfing lessons" Chris smiles while joking to make Buck laugh, and it works as Buck laughingly states: "Well, maybe you can teach me?", shortly leaning back against the house of the firetruck, before straightening up again.
"Alright, I'm gonna take a look around and see what I see" Buck states while getting up to take a look around, his Buck is just so brave Chris thinks to himself while still smiling.
"I guess we'll have to hang out here a little longer", Buck states while looking at Christopher.
"We have a firetruck", Chris says while smiling wide at Buck, Chris absolutely loves firetrucks, they are big and safe and reminds him of all his favorite people.
"Yeah, we do", Bucks reassuringly smiles back to Chris, making him feel all warm and loved inside, but only on the inside, because his clothes were all wet from the water, and even though the weather that day was warm and sonny, up here on the ladertruck moved a light breeze making him shiver slightly.
And then they heard someone yelling for help, kind of sounded a little bit like a young woman, and Buck straightened up immediately searching for whomever was calling.
"Okay, I'm gonna come for you" Buck yelled to the woman, Christopher figures that must mean that he had spotted her, his Buck was a hero so he knew that woman was gonna be safe, because Buck was going to save her. Buck turned around, kneeled down to look at Chris while asking: "Chris, I… I need you to sit right here. Promise me?", "Yeah" Chris confirmed, knowing that this was how he could help his Buck be a hero and save that woman. "Okay, you ready?" Buck asked while slowly backing away, getting up ready to save the woman, not hearing Chris silently answer "Yeah" smiling because his Buck was already at full work saving the woman.
Chris can hear Buck next to the firetruck again, telling the woman that she is okay and that she did good. Chris has closed his eyes shortly, leaning against the house of the firetruck, exactly where Buck left him, focusing on breathing, he can't lead Buck know that it is actually a little difficult catching his breath, Buck is busy being a hero, he can't be worried about him right now, Chris thinks to himself, so instead he just continues on breathing as best as he can.
